A big part of being a quadruped is being able to just lie down anytime. Waiting? Loaf time. Talking to someone shorter than you? Loaf time. Falling asleep in the sun? Loaf time. Bored? Loaf it up till something interesting happens. Leg hurt? Loaf time.
You wish you were me
The price of freedom…

This work is about the joy and freedom that come with deconverting from an oppressive religion. I hope you enjoy!
Debates about belief/religion are not welcome. If you disagree, just keep scrolling :)
the important thing to remember about corporations is that they are so so stupid
this post brought to you by my ex employer claiming that they can't have done disability discrimination against me because there's no proof I had PTSD in January 2025, although they do admit I had it both four months before and six months after that
asked my lawyer if this was the dumbest thing she'd ever seen and she gave me the ol' dead eyed stare that has watched a thousand civilisations fall
reading dnis is a great way to learn words that no one has ever used and might not even be real
writing isn’t hard. i just have to extract 80,000 words from my brain using sheer psychic force
Stephen King’s Fujo
yeah @sunderwight these tags are gold
pop health science is so annoying bc it'll be like "did you know? eating strawberries will give you mega cancer" and you're like pfft whatever begone influencer. but sometimes then you'll see a reasonably credible article like "Study Shows Possible Link Between Strawberries and Mega Cancer" and you're not usually the type to follow that kind of thing religiously but idk maybe you should consider not eating strawberries? but then there's another article saying "Strawberry/Mega Cancer Study Debunked" and it turns out the original study had a sample size of 3 and was funded by Big Blueberry, and strawberries may have a small connection to mega cancer but only if you are genetically predisposed to mega cancer and eat 50 strawberries every day. so you return to your strawberry eating life. but whenever you eat strawberries in public someone tells you about the mega cancer.

"we detected a mature post" yeah I'm in my 30s
Per @spoonstrek
This weekend was Balticon 59 and I entered my second ever Masquerade. The field of competitors was fierceand I entered as a journeyman.
My entry was the Spite Ensemble I've been working on. I titled it "In Memory of Black Suffragettes".
The script I had for the moderator to read as I modeled:
On August 19, 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified, stating “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.”
That should have meant that ALL women had the right to vote, but in reality, Black women, who had long been part of the suffrage movement, and Indigenous women, who inspired it, were once again left behind by their white peers.
Even now, protections once offered by enforcement of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 have been rolled back and we are hurtling backwards to a time where literacy tests and poll taxes kept all but “respectable” people from casting their ballots.
This ensemble was made with turn of the century patterns and an Ankara print the style of would have been available at the time. White was chosen to emulate the outfits worn by Suffragettes of all backgrounds.
After literal hours of deliberation the judges made their decision: I was named Best in Class Journeyman for Presentation and Best in Class _*Master*_ for Workmanship! Usually you have to win 3 awards as Journeyman to move up to Master
All in all, Balticon was a blast and I'm already planning next year's entry. Maybe a big fantasy ball gown...
Oh hey, I did end up doing a big fantasy ball gown this year!
And I won Second for Presentation and Best in Class for Workmanship!
Why is this heat so hot 😩
