Hi. I don't really come on here anymore. But I just watched a video of these grown men harrassing a bunch of Muslim children in Kentucky who were on a field trip to the State capitol.

Why do we let these people do this? If that was the Nation's children, the Fruit of Islam would have been prepared and lined up in front of them to at least show strength. I see time and time again how we act so weak and it makes me so frustrated.

Their chant is so disturbing it sent shivers down my spine. The chant roughly translates to “The police is respected/deserves respect, fucker” and when the officer throws down the indigenous flag he says “That doesn’t represent us, we are policemen from the pueblo for the pueblo.” God and the second office screaming in the background at 0:55 says “long live our glorious institution” why is no one seeing this?

I am not Bolivian nor do I have much knowledge of their history or culture, but the least I can do is translate this and hope someone else can step in to explain the depth of the situation

Salaam alaikum. I have not been active on here in quite some time, but this is one of the only places I know that is safe. I am having a really bad internal struggle relating to Islam and views on the LGTBQ+ community. When I reverted to Islam, an important factor to me was to know that it was a religion that did not discriminate against LGBTQ+ peoples. I found sources from groups like Muslims for Progressive Values and friends on Tumblr that it was not.

However, as I'm sure many other Muslims on here are aware, homophobia etc is so widespread in our community and it's all I ever see from the ummah on Facebook or in person and it is making me incredibly depressed and anxious. This is dumb, but could any of my LGTBQ+ inclusive Muslim friends reach out so I know I'm not alone? I feel so alone and it's hurting my imaan. I am not LGTBQ+ myself so this is probably even more dumb, but I feel so isolated from my faith and weak. jazakAllahkhair.

His name was Willem Van Spronsen. People are spreading misinformation about him attacking the center itself with the prisoners still inside. Instead he was actually attempting to blow up buses in the nearby parking lot, which was confirmed by La Resistencia, "Van Spronsen was targeting the detention center’s parking lot, which includes a fleet of buses that transports immigrants to the Yakima airport, where they are deported".
