You disgrace the name of punk and goth

There's nothing more punk than being a disgrace.

men will do literally anything other than engaging in pro-social community-oriented behavior and then get online and complain about how masculinity is vilified and men aren't allowed to be heroes anymore

"all men really want is to feel like the hero" okay then volunteer at a food bank. get narcan training. step in when a woman is being harassed on the street. help out an elderly neighbor with shopping or home repairs. learn how to safely de-escalate fights. help your friends move. join or start your workplace union. become a big brother or volunteer coach for kids' sports. clean up your local park or get involved in some local conservation campaign. do your own damn dishes. notice what needs to be done and then do it. the world doesn't need heroes, it needs helpers. there are literally so many paths to finding a sense of self-respect and worth through pro-social behaviors that improve your immediate local community and help build your network of close personal connections. but these guys don't give a shit about actually contributing anything to the world. they just want to whine and fantasize.

their inherent lack of self-respect is belied not only by the fact that they can't imagine doing anything that contributes to building a better, more resilient society, but how they can't imagine that doing so might involve a lot of small acts and choices and not one big act of heroism that gets them on the news as Big Man Of The Year.

They are, as a class, a destructive force and a liability, point period blank. They jeopardize our survival as a species, and as a global community of life, and have done so over and over throughout the ages.

Who is "indoctrinating" men to "see their own death as a good thing"? Other men. Industries run by men, governments run by men. Josh down the street with a podcast. Fueled by masculine values and zero sense and reason.

Men cannot conceive of taking responsibility for their own bullshit. Instead, it's always Big Power that's doing everything wrong. Brother, you are Big Power; that's men, that's patriarchy, that's YOU. Stfu, gather your gamer bros and go fix it.

But god forbid men be responsible for a single form of activistism that doesn't rely on women for labor and organization. Pathetic.

we’ve already discovered forests where trees share nutrients with young or disadvantaged trees and forests where trees can ask their neighbors for some extra food (they literally send a signal requesting aid, via the web of fungus that connects their roots) and forests where surrounding tees will keep a tree alive even when it has been reduced to a stump through some tragedy…

so, while i love the playfulness of “vampire” and i commend the specificity of “commensal, symbiotic mutualists” i think it’s worth considering, at this point, if “member of the community” might not be at least as apt

Okay, benefiting from the surplus of others and finding ways to contribute is NOT a “vampire.” That’s clearly a differently abled plant that requires assistance, which it is getting. And because this plant species provides this individual with support, it is able to contribute to its community in unique ways that benefits everyone that would not be possible if the larger community just let it die.

That’s rad to see in nature. Punk, even.

"Regulations don't exist because governments enjoy them" is an important statement here. The government has to spend money and labor to enforce regulations. The government has to be begged for years and sometimes threatened by the American people into even creating the regulations. The people with the money want you to believe regulations are "BIG GOVERNMENT INFRINGING ON OUR FREEDOMS" so you'll help them undo the regulations your grandparents had to force that same government to install in the first fucking place. They count on you being ignorant of the past so they can make another round of dirty money by poisoning you all over again.
