An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Summary: Nagito bakes a mean eclair and makes horrible lattes. Shuichi just wants to survive college. In the meantime, Kokichi is planning to blow the minds of those crusty fucks in administration, and Hajime is definitely going to get that hot barista's number. Somehow.
Featuring two awkward romances, a student demonstration, and the perils of being a small time business owner.
I was meant to update Cycle of Misery for this week, but I got COVID...so haha. RIP. I got like five symptoms on top of it so there's not gonna be one for this week!
I'll try to churn out a chapter next week. Thanks for reading.
this is actually what happened after the third trial dont let the media lie to you

Ship arrived, you left your shadow on the island. (Goodbye, Academy of Despair)
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Summary: There is a conspiracy brewing on Jabberwock island, and as usual, Hajime is responsible for it. At least, that's what Nagito believes, and that will be the conclusion he's reaching for, thank you very much! It's his investigation, after all.

An anime manga theme park aimed at getting white weeaboos to come spend money in Japan that displaces and desecrates indigenous Ainu territory...
Y’all blog about Japanese people and culture all day please boost this.
you know what i've been browsing through the villain deku tag recently and i'm seeing the same design i've seen since the ao3 tag for bnha had a thousand fics and like ik that's a long time and even then i had no earthly clue where the suit and tie aesthetic came from.
like that shit's a tale as old as time. archaeologists could go and find a cave mural and it'd be the same fucking suit-and-tie wearing motherfucker izuku fanart at this point
so has anyone analyzed the psychological implications that being a mary sue would have on a conscious being or do i have to write thinkpieces again
like. a "self aware" "mary sue" character that is aware of her own tropes and role would be absolutely amazing. wouldnt it be terrifying to always get your way and never fail by a cosmic design that you don't understand? people acting not quite like themselves, the universe working strange and inexplicable, thats horror potential babey
make a story that seems like a good story at first, then add some mary sue bs in so you drive away some members of your audience, and then you get into the real good shit
i was thinking more bait and switch, pov character is a generic stereotypical mary sue, starts off predictable ("my name is crystal buttercup angel im the princess of blah blah") and then as the plot progresses it kinda starts to fall apart as she catches on to the fact that something is terribly wrong with both the world and herself

komaeda matsuda interaction practice (+dialogue)

"Love?" Komaeda, rather---Takahara repeats after him, his nimble hands doing Yasuke's work for him. Hardworking hands are doing God's work by wiping the stains off the stubborn glass while dealing with the man himself. "You don't really ping as the poetic type to me, Matsuda-kun."
"It's not poetry, literature, or whatever the hell you liberal arts kids want to call it." Yasuke leans against the aged countertop, and notes that he should wax this thing before it gives an unsuspecting customer splinters.
"It's science. Chemicals in the brain reacting to each other, a limbic part of the system responding to what you think is the best mate to do the canoodling with." He makes a crude impression of sex with a dirty glass and a finger. Takahara snorts at the display, and flips him off.
"Stop that," he mutters, swatting Yasuke's hands away. "You're filthy. No wonder this place is so dirty, Matsuda-kun. You could stand to sweep the floors every once in a while. Make up for the shit that's clogging your brain."
"Shut up. I pay you to do what I don't want to do, Takahara. Right now, the hourly wage is on whether you answer my fucking question or not."
An eyebrow raised. "Do I get a bonus for that?"
"You get me not kicking your ungrateful ass to the curb. So. Answers. What is love?"
