"Eh? Himari-chan?"

Tsugumi blinked a few times as she looked up at her best friend, before her eyes flitted back down- Not to the schoolwork in front of her, but to her slightly shaking hands. She’d been working so hard- With Afterglow, obviously, but also the café, schoolwork, her student council duties, and practicing with Yukina-senpai, Maya-senpai, and the others... She knew, realistically, that she was taking on too much work. Just like she always did. But, still... She felt like she needed to do the most she could- To catch up to her friends and stop holding them back, to make her parents proud, to be the best Hazawa Tsugumi she could—

She didn’t want a repeat of last time, though. She still remembered the looks on her friends’ faces when they saw her in the hospital that day, as clearly as if it were yesterday- The concern and love they’d all shown her. How they’d all come running the moment they knew. ...She couldn’t do that to them again.

Her shoulders slumped as she let out a long sigh, tired eyes finally shifting back towards Himari. “...You’re right, Himari-chan. I don’t want you to have come all this way to study together just to stop because of me, though...”

“You. Rest. Now.”

“I’m absolutely fine, I just need to sit down.”

“We’re both so exhausted we can’t even argue about not being exhausted.”

“When I said I needed five more minutes I meant it more like hours.”

“… no… I’m tired… let me sleep… I don’t want to get up.”

“We need to get out of the heat, you’re starting to look sick.”

“You can’t hide those shaking hands from me. You need to stop.”

“I’m just a little cold, I’m okay, really. Let me sit with a blanket or something.”

“I have energy for exactly one more person of favourable standing, and going the hell to bed. With or without that person, bed is happening.”

“You’ve struggled to move anything for the last hour.”

Chisato laughs as Kaoru complains about her cruelty- It was somewhat funny, really, after everything. She shakes her head when Kaoru mentions that she’s taking it well, sighing softly... “Well, I do need to play the adult in the room, Kaoru. As much as I love Pastel✽Palettes, well...” They could all be troublesome in different ways. Particularly Hina, with Aya and Eve to a lesser extent- Maya had her moments too, but she wasn’t nearly as bad. “You go to Haneoka. You must know how your dear student council president can be... I feel bad for Tsugumi-chan, honestly. I also learned to keep my more negative emotions suppressed a long time ago... But I think you know that.”
