any headcanons for this fishy au?
*cracks knuckles* but of course
Lance is emma (ice powers) Keith is rikki (fire/heat powers) and Hunk is cleo (can manipulate water to do what he wills it to)
Hunks boat breaks down not far from the dock, as heās trying to locate the spark plug, keith, being keith, sees this cute boy that might need help and jumps from the dock and into the boat, scaring hunk half to death
they work together to get the boat running again and ride around and hunk spots lance on the deck and asks if he wants a rideĀ
Lance: are you licensed?Keith: Are you my mother?
The three of them ride around blah blah they get stranded on Mako Island (Altea Island?) fall into the moon pool the moon does the thing while theyāre in the water blah blah they get rescuedĀ
Lance is the first one to find out about the tail thing. Heās captain of the swim team! And he goes in early the next day to have the pool to himself to practice. thus the first tail transformation.
Hunk is the second one to transform while heās out on his boat studying current patterns and he gets splashed.
Keith gets his tail when heās taking a water hose shower outside of his shackĀ
They all meet up the next day and hunk and keith are both freaking out because how tf r they going to live but lance is just chillin
Keith: HOW are you so calm about thisHunk: Dude this is SERIOUSLance: B) I donāt need pants, iām a mermaid
Lance has to quit the swim team but itās not too upsetting for him because now he can swim like an actual fish in the ocean
Hunk learns to enjoy it because its so much easier to study the ocean and itās creatures when you can so easily swim under waterĀ
Keith would never admit it but he likes it because it strengthens the bond with him and his two friends and he knows he always has someone to go toĀ
and thatās basically the start of it so here r just some things from the show in general

Keith getting a job at the marine park despite the obvious danger
The trio having sleepovers every full moon and watching over eachother so they donāt fall under the moon spell
lance and keith always find a way to fall under the moon spell anyways and they cause chaos
