Like haircare products, ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends (I’m looking at you, Nalia and Alain), your favorite chair (or your whole house).
Anyway, this is one of my favorite comics, and everyone should read it.
Seriously, as a Bitch of Light this actually drives me bananas. WORDS MEAN THINGS!!!
This happens all the time. Last night in fact, I suggested a hair color and style to someone, only to find out that it was the style they had over the summer (and I just met them). And earlier this week, I could not stop asking questions people were thinking.
Like, I love plants but I can’t grow anything except roses, and those grow on their own and I don’t do anything to make that happen. Seriously, I kill succulents, I kill AIR PLANTS. *mutters to himself*
I DID NOT MAKE YOU GAY FOR GODS’ SAKE.
I am looking at YOU, Ellie Shoes.
Like, this isn’t even a milkshake. Why are all these boys in my yard??
I was trying to come up with a good spell to help my friends with depression. Instead… I ended up working on a toad curse. *sighs*
Unfortunately, clients who want to be your friends often end up becoming more like “drug friends” than actual friends- your relationship is defined around you possessing something they want, rather than mutual respect and affection. Literally, this a codependent relationship in the making, and it’s dangerous. Anyone whose morals allow them to fake a friendship in order to acquire something they want from you is not likely to be healthy for your spirit.
Seriously.
Since I know I’ll be asked at some point, these are the definitions I work with.
Hex: a bending of luck, for good or ill. Often in its harmful form it is referred to as an “eyebite,” an “ill-wishing,” or “the evil eye." It can also be cast as a well-wishing.
Crossing: sometimes referred to as an "overlook,” it is a persistent spell of opposition which prevents a person from having good luck or achieving a goal.
Blasting: an evocation of power used to cause destruction to a person.
Blight: also sometimes conflated with “withering,” it is usually a spell cast upon someone’s health or on living things, which causes them to fade and die.
Sending: a common form of magic used to afflict someone, it occasionally involves sending spirits at them, or perhaps sending them dreams (nightmares, usually). Symptoms often include those of hauntings or visitations.
Curse: a powerful enchantment that transforms some aspect of the subject’s inner self into a plague upon all who encounter it. Cursed objects bring misfortune not only to themselves but to others- the same is true of cursed animals or people. Like a blessing, a curse is progressive and durable, and the only way to break one is to change the subject so that the spell no longer can afflict them.
Hopefully that helps.

Seriously, this is frustrating.
When a person claims that something isn’t possible, after I literally just finished doing exactly that not an hour prior to the conversation… I judge them a lot a little.
When a person witnesses me doing something they have previously decided was impossible, and their main response is “that’s unfair!” or to call me evil or something?
Not only do they lose whatever respect I might have had for them, but they also lose any ability to regain that respect ever again.
Don’t decide things are true or false just because you want them to be. Test out your theories and hypotheses. When one seeks to force facts to fit beliefs instead of the other way around (and yes, believing something is impossible IS IN FACT a belief), one is incontestably in error.

And sometimes that price is super annoying. *grumpily rage-flounces out of the room*

… Let’s just say that an irrational witch is a very dangerous thing.
