A little about the blog so far:
This blog is for filtering words by type, connotation, meaning, and literary genre they’re likely to pop up in. So far, it only has 32 words at this moment of posting. When the post count hits 100, a list of tags will be published, making this blog much easier to search through. I apologize for the inconvenience, and hope you bear with the blog until then.
Currently, I’m copying definitions out of these sites:
a: Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, for general definitions b: Merriam-Webster’s English-Learner’s Dictionary, when Merriam-Webster’s dictionary is a bit too wordy or obscure c: Dictionary.com, for more general definitions
I find words through various sources and sites, including:
general online reading & research
other tumblr post
video games I am fond of, like Amercian McGee’s Alice
word list around the net
Sometimes the post have different formats as I’m not quite sure which I like best. Feel free to comment on what format you like best.
The queue runs three times a day and over 30 words are scheduled to be posted within the upcoming weeks. I might bump up the queue if I can get 30+ more words in by next week.
If you have a word or three you particularly like, feel free to ask for it to be put up or submit a definition yourself. Or, if you’d like some words related to a specific topic, feeling, etc., feel free to send in an ask for those as well.
