Reno wheezed as they slammed into another wall, feeling as though the walls seemed to be getting smaller. The longer they went on the more dead ends they hit in such a god-forsaken maze. The longer they went on, the more angry they got, feeling like a headless chicken that ran strictly on its own rage. The feeling bubbled and boiled in their gut, and their skin seemed to reciprocate, shifting about as it tried to squeeze through any holes between the sturdy plastic.  A goopy limb pointed towards the nearby ceiling. Vent. But it was...open. Why would a vent be open if not to- Their head buzzed, and the hairs on their skin rose underneath their suit. Reno’s blood ran cold. They backed up from the vent (though progress was slow as they tried to reform), bumping into the wall behind them. As if on cue, the sounds of snapping bones emerged, and something dropped from the ceiling. The creature was sickly and hunched, too tall to fit. As it moved around, the Spider caught a glint of the dagger in one of it’s bony hands. A pair of goggles rested on their head of disheveled blonde hair, and big, green eyes peered back at them, hungry.  Mom.  Shaylee Russo was a woman who was good at playing God. If she could make life, she could take it away. She could twist it and turn it however she wished, and Reno knew that extended to herself. They wanted that same power. They’d even admired her for it. But if that power was going to be held over them to the point of death, suppose Reno would rather drop the “mom” title, and settle for something more fitting, encompassing criminal history and all. Like supervillain. Shaylee roared, but it was unintelligible. Reno dropped their body into a stance. She charged, and Reno ducked to avoid a swing. They wouldn’t die here. She threw the Spider to the wall, but not before Reno could throw their hip into her side, throwing her briefly off-kilter. They wouldn’t- Something sharp pierced between their ribs. Their resolve wavered with their consciousness, but they kept batting at the thing anyways despite uselessly shaking hands. It--she, held them up like a puppy, pressed tight to the wall as the rusting dagger sank deeper. Shaylee mocked Reno’s cry, a watery noise that overcame a growl. It was foolish for an experiment to disobey a God. But Reno would not repent.
