Ok I haven't done these things but coming from a very "it's cool to do great on the SATs" and "the pursuit of art/music is only meaningful if it garners recognition" background realizing this has been very significant to my character development. I did a whole bunch of stuff because I had to then when I had the choice I spent a lot of time trying to enjoy things I didn't enjoy. Now if something isn't rad as hell in a certain allotted span, I'm done with it. I'm still big on delayed gratification but if a book, song, trail, whatever sucks significantly RIGHT AWAY I'm going to bail and find something I actually enjoy.

Cursed game show idea:

It's a competition between barbers/stylists in 3 rounds.

The first round is doing a signature cut, they have their choice of models with different length and types of hair to do something that exemplifies their style.

The second round is doing a specific but challenging cut on a pre-selected model, with all the models being fairly similar in appearance and hair type. There's a strict time limit.

Then the third round, they have 3 bald models come in. They allow confusion to settle in as Sam Reich appears and explains that round three is about a different kind of hair. The models remove their shirts to reveal THICK body hair. The barbers are to make a design of their choice on their model's back.

At this announcement, the doors audibly lock. The only way out is through.
