"Aros can be in romantic relationships!" and "Some aces can have sex!" are all valid things about aspec people, but when allo people use it to justify their continued shipping and smut of canon aspec characters, it doesn't read as a sincere support of different facets of our community. It reads as looking for a loophole, and that leads to erasure. It's the difference between saying "sexuality can be fluid" and saying "it's just a phase, you'll grow out of it". It's not nice.
god this bothers me so much with the hazbin hotel fandom and with alastor. i know viv has stated that alastor is implied/ said to likely be aromantic too but she wants the fandom to have respectful fun with it (which im mmmm about but hes not my character) but people still romantically ship him and put him in sexual relationships and it just!! really bothers me a lot because i see it so much whenever i look through that sort of content. im aroace myself and it feels quite literally like erasure :|
