My hot take is that actually food allergies are a disability and more people need to realize that. The amount of research people with food allergies have to do when they want to go visit places but arent sure if theyâll have access to any food there is insane. Allergy friendly food is almost ALWAYS incredibly expensive in stores bc of all those fucking fad diets that like yoga instructors and middle age soccer moms make popular. And on top of the price, it is so hard to FIND! Almost evrry grocery store ive been to has a tiny ass allergy section that is almost always near empty. Plus what about people who donât have the money to pay 10$ for a loaf of bread? You go to starbucks and non-dairy milks are like 70 cents extra? People are definitely out there buying and eating stuff that is destroying their digestive systems because they have no other choice. I am begging people to stop pretending that catering to peopleâs food allergies is elitist and not worth is. We need to make these options openly available.
You really donât realize how disconnected from reality rich people are until you have to work for them bro, like I just had a woman start crying because I told her that the leather recliners she wants to order would take 2 weeks to ship and she goes âWe just finished our custom home theater room and I have a get together this weekend and I have kitchen chairs in there. do you have any idea what thats like?â HELLO????

Iâm sorry but activists are absolutely not using services like Encrochat, these are for-profit companies catering to people with thousands to drop on a phone. Bad example to use.
Here is a literal journalist who used it talking about several families whose homes were raided because of encrochat data - raids in which no drugs or illegal material was discovered - and whose kids are still traumatized over it.
Three hundred bucks a month isnât beyond the pale for people who might want to pay for security they arenât certain they can set up on their own and REGARDLESS accepting it when cops backdoor their way into encrypted services sets a bad precedent.
Cops have said for DECADES that strong crypto is a threat to the rule of law and that it should be illegal to have cryptography that locks the police out of messaging systems and data exchanges. This is the sort of thing that gets weaponized against activists and political dissidents *immediately* every time it comes up.
Also what are you determining is a service âLike encrochatâ? China considers Signal a service âlike encrochat.â
The point Iâm making here is that the argument âservices like encrochat are used only by criminals so itâs okay if cops spy on themâ is basically the exact justification that governments the world over use to try to ban ALL encryption and private messaging:
Sky Global has denied any wrongdoing, with CEO Eap saying âWe stand for the protection of privacy and freedom of speech in an era when these rights are under increasing attack. We do not condone illegal or unethical behaviour by our partners or customers. To brand anyone who values privacy and freedom of speech as a criminal is an outrage.â
But Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin said the use of such devices should be illegal.
âIt is indisputable that it is used by criminals,â Vulin said on March 7. âI am in favour of it being a crime, as I believe that the purchase of any telephone number, regardless of whether it is prepaid or postpaid, must be done with an ID card.â
âIt may not stop criminals from using it, but if nothing else it will give the police another reason to arrest them and remove them from the streets.â
Some journalists and rights advocates say this is a slippery slope.
âEncryption is a tool. And like any tool, it can be used for good and for bad,â said Fabian Scherschel, a freelance journalist, writer and podcaster who has covered the topic closely.
âWeâve already seen legislation against so-called âhacker toolsâ massively backfire and threaten to criminalise the legitimate work of IT security specialists and journalists. I have a feeling this legislation could cause similar problems. It will also, most likely, make it easier to spy on the general populace, who has no intention of using encryption to hide criminal behaviour whatsoever.â
Diego Naranjo, head of policy at the Brussels-based advocacy group European Digital Rights, EDRi, said it was important to challenge the narrative that encryption is only used by criminals.
âAs any other interference with human rights, an attack on encryption or privacy-enhancing technologies needs to be prescribed by law, necessary and proportionate to the aims to be achieved in a democratic society,â said Naranjo.
He noted that the EncroChat and Sky ECC cases had demonstrated that law enforcement agencies have ways to penetrate such communication.
âWe may be already in the Crypto wars 3.0, and it is up to us to ensure that encryption is perceived as a tool to ensure human rights and not something only criminals use.â

Prediction:
1. 30 countries will move toward this within the next 5 years.
2. It wonât even enter American political discourse for 5, 10 or 15 years from now.
3. If itâs proposed it will incite a moral panic, as the usual suspects raise the alarm about the specter of communism, a lazy labor force, etc.
4. Measures of lifespan, health-span and well-being will increase in the countries that adopt it. These same measures will fall in the U.S. and virtually no one will notice.
5. The usual rhetoric about American exceptionalism and USA #1 will carry on as usual.
I would say your prediction is dead-on.
Itâs not even a prediction thatâs literally happened several times already but at least y'all are detecting a pattern here
i think in the age of celebrity culture and kpop stannies and rpf shippers we need to normalize knowing fuck all about your favorite bands. what ? the lead singer has a name.. thatâs crazy..!
