She is an icon
Their God is male
Their phrophets are male
Their apostles are male
Their books tell periods are dirty
Their thinkers are misogynistic
Their saints would call you a whore
Don't defend your oppression
Galatians 3:28:
"There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
It is apparent that you are struggling deeply with resentment; may this reblog find you well, my dearest sister.
Regarding what you have said, God is God!
... and we, likewise, are all so deeply human; regardless of our genders, He has created each one of us in His very own image.
Genesis 1:27
"So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
That being said, both of the genders reflect God’s own personal character, and isn't that just spectacular? The aforementioned genders (male and female) have their own inherent values, purposes, and responsibilities which actively compliment one another, creating unity.
Humanity has been set apart from the rest of creation.
As for female prophets? I am quite joyful to report that there have been many, actually!
Miriam (Exodus 15:20)
Deborah (Judges 4:4)
Huldah (2 Kings 22:14–20)
Anna (Luke 2:36–38)
And many more!
Not to mention the many amazing women in the Bible!
Mary the mother of Jesus
Esther the Queen who saved her people.
The loyal Ruth who stayed with her mother in law.
Abigail who saved her husband.
and MANY MORE as well!!
The Apostles were male, but Jesus had female followers like Mary Magdalene who was the first to find the Tomb empty AND the first to witness the risen Christ and BELIEVE!!
Don't even get me started on female Saints!!! Saints like Faustina, St Therese, Mother Theresa, Saint Agnes, Saint Joan of the Arc-
It's absolutely wonderful; Jesus sees us for who we actually are.
Lastly? In the Bible, the Jewish people do believe that periods make one unclean; this is more of a Jewish specific belief.
But honestly, I see no issue with this?? A period is a time when hygiene is difficult to upkeep for a lady, is it not? There is no shame in it!
Ahem, despite the Jewish people believing periods are unclean, Jesus healed a hemorrhaging woman who had been suffering for twelve years!!! Jesus told her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering." (Mark 5:34).
God loves us. Jesus loves us; why else would God have created us, if not out of complete love?
Ezekiel 33:11.
The Lord declares, “For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord GOD. So repent and live!”
May the peace of the Lord be forever with you sister; know that while the world may oppress us humans, God and Jesus set us truly free.
While I won't apologize for my faith, I hope these apologetics help you understand our faith a bit better.
First of all, dont assume that you know who I am or know what I know or don't know about your faith
Yes, God is seen as a man in Christianity. A lot of thought is not needed to see that. Just see your holy trinity: "FATHER, SON and Holy Spirit." I doubt you will find any priest referring to God as a woman being at all, but referring to God as man is just default. God might not have a sex but he certainly seems to have been attributed to a gender, the masculine.
Oh, and talking about genesis! Do you know you're cursed for being born a woman? Don't believe me? Let me show you:
To the woman, he said,
“I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;
with painful labor you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you.”
The female prophets are so important, aren't they? So important that they don't have a book dedicated to them, major and minor prophets ( Isaiah, Baruch, Amos, ...) have book dedicated to the, but the women prophets don't have. There are seven girl prophets that I remember, 2 of them aren't even referenced by name, just being somebody's daughter or wife. On the other hand, Deborah and Anna are just mentioned on 2-3 verses. About Abraham's sister, Miriam, do you know what happened when both her and Aaran defied Moses? God punished Miriam with leper, just her, not Aaron.
How is menstrual banishment not an issue with you? Menstruation isn't impure. Being sick, in case it wasn't a disease with skin, wasn't seen as being impure, but being sick seems more dangerous than menstruation. In case you didn't read the chapter on lileviticus talking about women's flow, they couldn't be touched or lay down, because everything she touch would be impure, and it didn't last during the bleeding, but during seven days, even if there no bleeding.
I could keep talking about how the Church is misogynistic, for example, how only men could participate on the mass where the priest wash their feet, which unfortunately I dont know the name in english, but what's the point? You love a religion that hurt women through all history, that you can Google yourself.
Again, don't try to say what I know and do not know about this religion.
Hello again dearest sister! Thank you again for your reply.
I have no doubt of your intelligence, sister; there is no need to fret upon worrying about such a thing! Are we not both respectable adults? Let us treat each other as such!
I am merely reaching out to share my own portion and experience of the Church, not accuse you!
Likewise, I also ask you to also please not assume certain things of me as well.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and courtesy!!
I apologize for not being clear on this; I never meant to portray that God was genderless, nor is it something I maintain or believe.
God is the Father, Jesus is the Son, and both are indeed male; I do not see this as a bad thing!
I merely stated that the genders were both formed in the image of God, and that they are ultimately a reflection of Himself, that transcends our limited understanding. To me, this is actually quite beautiful.
God created women, so how can he hate them?
Genesis 1:31:
"God looked at everything he had made, and found it very good."
When Adam and Eve sinned against God and tried to hide it, they were both reasonably punished; even so, for the verse in Genesis that you have stated:
The only being actually cursed directly in Genesis 3 was the snake, which is Satan!
As for the pain in childbirth, it was never stated as being a curse, rather, an immediate consequence of sin! If you read a bit further, you will see that Adam, her husband, was also punished but not cursed either. (The ground was!)
The verse also implies that there was pre-existing pain when it came to childbirth; in Hebrew, the translation is more directly stated as an increase in 'toil' or 'struggle.'
Pain during childbirth is something that all creatures on Earth experience! Humans are not the only species that endures this!
I hope that this clears up that:
Being born a woman is not a curse in accordance to my religion.
Personally, I find that it is actually quite a wonderful and unique gift; I am happy to be a woman, and I truly praise the Lord for being born the way I am!
The Old Testament of the Bible also exists as a history of the Jewish people and their relationship with God!
I understand that it was also not common in the older days to write about women, even so:
I see this as a clear product of the times and humanity as a whole, not just the Jewish people.
What I mean by this, is that women not being in certain texts is not inherently a religion specific issue my sister!!
That is how history has been for all humans.
That being said, for these women: have you ever considered the reason why they do not have their own books outside of this?
Have you considered that they did not give consent to being written about and scrutinized? That perhaps, they desired privacy and did not want entire books written about their lives?
Despite everything, there are these books in the Bible about women: I always find Ruth, Esther, and Judith inspiring.
Judith specifically, is one I am quite fond of!
Now! About Aaron and Miriam.
They were both envious of Moses for being God's chosen prophet; even though God spoke through them, Moses received the most attention and instruction from God, and He did not speak to Moses in riddles, but was clear.
One ironic to remember is that they both criticized Moses for his marriage to a cushite woman; the cushite people were dark-skinned africans... Miriam was struck with leprosy, because God can see into the hearts of people; Aaron repented, while Miriam did not. She was not sorry.
Next:
Mark 7:14–15:
“What comes out of a person defiles them.”
For menstruation, it mainly isn't an issue to me because of the fact that:
Jesus in the New Testament redefined purity, emphasizing inner moral cleanliness over the external ritualistic sort.
To be clear, Women were not banished for their period! They were considered ritualistically impure, but that is a Jewish specific belief, it is not something Christians maintain.
The Old Testament is in the Christian Bible because the History of God with Jews is also important to consider in combination with the Old Testament.
Outside of that, women didn't have to partake in going to the temple or participate in ritual worship or engage in intercourse at this time; would you want to go to work on your period? I know I hate going anywhere when I am on my period!
I will list an article below that goes over the entirety of the purification process, but the basics would be this: they were indeed allowed to lay down. They would have their own chamber and have white sheets, bathe everyday, etc. Honestly, it seems like it would be a nice break to me; I always feel icky on my period, personally.
Regarding the ritualistic washing of feet on Holy Thursday:
It indeed was male specific due to the fact that the 12 apostles were all male! To me, this is not misogynistic, it is just clearly meant to accurately reflect the last supper.
Despite that, Pope Francis washed the feet of women, and in 2016 that tradition was also revised to allow both men and women.
For example, at my parish, both men and women also have their feet washed by the Priests on Holy Thursday.
There are also many women who were appointed as Doctors of the Church; Saint Teresa of Ávila, Saint Catherine of Siena, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, and Saint Hildegard of Bingen!
Women have been hurt throughout history by all of humanity; this isn't a religion specific issue!
In fact, I would say that the Church has always maintained treating women with dignity.
One can hate the Church all day.
In the end, who does it help and what does it accomplish?
All it does is promote hate.
Why not be the change you want to see?
In the end, this clearly isn't a post about women and their rights; this is about you being angry at God.
I could go on, but I will simply list some of my references below for some in depth review for in case you end up curious!

I could've made a bigger response takkinga bout each one of the points, but I know you won't care, and it won't change your mind because I know how it is to be religious, you get apologetic by all mistakes
The natality crisis just confirms that men dont see women as people but as incubators. They would take off your rights for you to become a house slave. How Simone deBeauviour say, "Never forget that it only takes one political, economic, or religious crisis for women's rights to be put in jeopardy."
Feminism was supposed to create empathy towards prostitutes to help them out of the situation, not to validate it.
I’m making a set.
How about we start referring to trans identified males as "penis havers" or "people with testicles"? Since they insist on calling WOMEN(and that includes trans identified females) "people with a uterus"
Top 5 tragedies of the human condition
5. You were born in a bloodbath world, you evolved for violence because that is what it takes to survive, yet somehow you also developed the ability to feel disgust over your own impulses.
4. You are stuck in a decaying organism that has needs, desires, vulnerabilities, that can fail any time in horrific ways, you will die someday.
3. You were born in material conditions you didn’t choose, you were assigned an identity, a body, a flag, it was all random, did you win the lottery, or did you loose? Your whole life is now determined by your biology and environment.
2. Nobody knows what’s going on, not your parents, not their parents, not the priests not the scientists, all we have is guesses and theories based on what we can observe, but we’ll never see the full picture, we’ll never know the truth. You just follow the script you were given, and the ideology that soothes your existential dread the best.
1. The passage of time.
"Men and women need each other!"
Outside of reproducing, abusing their children, and making the lives of everyone who is not like them a living hell what do the average osa man and woman even enjoy doing together? The world would be better off if men and women stayed away from each other more. When they get together they only know how to destroy everything around them. They also do not like each other at all and need all kinds of rituals and religions to tell them how to effectively roleplay their household roles because they do not actually like the other's true self.
This is poetry, so sufficiently stated. I have nothing else to add, only admiration.
Rachel Moran on the terms "Sex Work" and "Sex Worker".
It’s actually wild to me how many women in healthcare complain about not being able to have acrylic nails. “We’re wearing gloves anyway” girl first of all it’s an infection risk second you want ur pointy acrylic to pierce ur glove and get body fluids under ur plastic claw or worse hurt your patient? It’s not even like “oh I’d rather have this look” it’s like they feel… naked without them? Even women not in healthcare idc what you say there’s no way those long nails don’t restrict what you can do with your hands.
Also is it just me or did these come out of nowhere? Obviously some women have always had acrylics and yeah I think being manicured was somewhat of an “expectation” like makeup is but this new long acrylic thing is new in the last 5+ years I swear.
There’s something so symbolic also about taking the most utility part of our body – everything we do is with our hands it’s how we interact with the world – and creating a beauty standard that limits our ability to use them. Like damn we rly just are decorative objects huh
The older i've gotten the more i've come to think that a substantial amount of people (mostly men) don't really have an internal sense of morality. Like there are two questions they ask themselves when deciding to do something and that is 1. will this benefit me and 2. will i face negative consequences for doing it. and that's it. No asking themselves if it negatively impacts others, just selfishness.
there’s a connection between the numbing sprays for your feet so you can wear high heels and the anal desensitizing lube so you can have anal sex for your boyfriend and the suppressants for your gag reflex so you can deepthroat that same boyfriend. can’t quite make it though
to add to this: appetite suppressants so you can ignore your hunger signals, and that recent study that was going around that showed that women who self-objectify are less likely to perceive pain or the cold
The dissociation that women frequently use to protect themselves during moments like rape was fetishized by predators, weaponized against us, and made into a basic commodity that anyone can demand at any time now.
Because it's harder for someone else to use you as an object when you can, you know... actually feel your body.
The connection is self-objectification taken to the extreme. Making yourself into an object that can't feel pain, can't sense what's being done to it, just exists to be seen and felt and enjoyed by others. It's harder to make yourself into the abuse object that men expect you to be if your body is still able to warn you against it, so you have to turn off the warnings. Being a feeling and thinking and experiencing animal is incompatible with being an object that exists for the enjoyment of sadistic men, so the numbing agents help you convert yourself from animal to object.

you literally cannot find a news story about domestic violence towards women or women being murdered bg their male partners without seeing multiple men in the comments saying some version of “oh well she wasn’t innocent either” or “what did she do to set him off, women always do something” like they hate us so so so fucking bad. electric chair to all of them idc
Huh that is kind of a weird way to talk about it
Oh

Oh. Ok. Makes sense now
