the year is 2045. my partner has just given birth to our first child. I hold the baby carefully, and give them a small kiss on the forehead. They taste strangely of chocolate… I turn around. Chocolate guy is standing behind me, whisk in hand. FUCK YOU!! I yell, as he vaults out of the window, and drives away on his chocolate motorbike. I place the baby down and go to sit next to my partner. I take their hand. It feels a bit sticky. In horror I stare at their sugar-glazed eyes, before breaking down in tears. But instead of tasting salty, these tears leave little brown streaks along my face, and taste strangely sweet

Ok so maybe this is just a me-problem, but a single magpie has started hanging around on the parking lot near my office window now and it has become a whole situation...
As you probably know, a single macpie is a bad omen in British and some other European folk-magic (1 magpie = bad luck, 2 magpies = good luck, 3 magpies = a dude is hiding somewhere etc.). Usually there is strats to cacle out the offending bird as traditionally you're supposed to spit on the ground when you see one, but people in my office are not particularly chuffed about me spitting on the carpeted floor every few minutes - thought abozt getting a spittoon or just using a vase we have standing around but I also don't want to come across even more redneck than I already do (I work in a metropolitan area and people are kind of suspicious of me after I let slip that I've touched a sheep before). I'm also pretty sure that my life genrally kind of sucking lately is at least partially an effect of the magpie curse. I'm also quite eco-conscoious so I don't really see myself punch a bird and I'm kind of running out of ideas now - maybe I could introduce several more magpies to the parkinglot to raise the chance of actually getting good magpei fortune or something?
Maybe anyone who has their office under a ladder factory or works in the mirror-recycling business care to comment with any usefull tips, maybe a charm I could use or any animal that brings bad lug to the magpie in case it lools over?
Update: that fuckig loser bird is back! I'm almost alone in the officebuilding but I bet if I spit on the ground to ward off the magpie-magic, the one other coleague I know is in the bulding walks past - seriously thinking about investing in an office-spittoon (might cause someone to pick up chewing-tobacco though, I heard that shit is on the rise again anyways and I don't vibe with that!)

I was just editing an article about a recent conference on queer linguistics (in German) and google kept trying to auto-correct 'anti-queer' to 'antiquiert' (German word for 'antiquated') - I mean as much as the spellcheck in Google Docs annoys me on a regular basis, sometimes you got to hand it to them 🤔🌈👏
