I just got an email from loot crate about how they’re doing absensory crate for autist people. The problem is the box is light blue with a puzzle piece. Any money will be donated to autism speaks. I’m asking my mutuals and followers to reblog this and to send an email to loot crate explaining why autism speaks is the wrong “charity” to support when it comes to autism.

Oh god this is so me it hurts
when i’m told to “just be myself”, i honest to god do not know how to do that. when you’ve been told your whole life to be anything but “you”, it’s very difficult to form an actual personality.
I’m 30 and have only really been figuring myself out in the last few years. I, between my chameleon tendencies, masking, bullying, and being told the parts of me I vulnerably exposed were weird, it has taken a lot. But hey, OP and anyone else who sees this, it’s never too late to figure out who you are.

Verbal Stim!
I had a blood draw yesterday. They always send me into a meltdown. I’ve been phobic of medical needles basically my whole life. It’s a really bad situation. But I’m finally starting to figure out that a lot of my issues with it may be related to my autism BUT I DIGRESS.
On my way in, I noticed consciously that I was stimming. It’s a noise I make with my mouth often when I’m getting overwhelmed. Kinda like... “chhh chhh chhh.” It’s a little harder than a “shhh” sound. The pattern varies - sometimes it’s the cadence of a song I like, sometimes it’s completely random.
I’m pretty sure this is a stim. A good stim, at that! Which makes me feel good because my other identified Stims have been harmful. This one makes me feel better, calmer, without causing me any physical or mental harm!
