Ladybug had a feeling she might die tonight. She followed Chat Noir after this villain like she did every other time. Except the sheer power the other possessed was nearly overwhelming. Her kevlar enforced costume was shredded, her body had bleeding lasecrations all over the place from Widowerâs pet assistant. Her visor was cracked and her HUD was offline. She was basically naked in a super-powered fire fight. She couldnât tell where her partner was, she lost track of him sometime during this clusterfuck of a fight. Her entire frame was trembling as she struggled to stay on her feet.Â
To say that she was exhausted was a massive understatement. She knew that she could just, collapse at any moment. All of her limbs felt heavy despite her training. She didnât have much more left to give, the only thing keeping her on her feet was that was what was keeping her alive. Ladybug knew that that the moment she hits the ground, she was dead. Being stubborn was one of the positive things about the Dupain-Chengs.
âC..Come on!â
She managed to cry out, as she was just barely dodging attacks by this point. She couldnât outlast the other, she didnât have the resources to do so. Because at the end of the day she was still just a civilian compared to a superpowered person. Ladybugâs luck wore out as she misstepped and lost her balance, she fell onto the floor with a solid thud. She was dazed for a moment, the exhaustion not helping as her stomach sunk.Â
She just signed her death certificate.
It was foolish for Chat Noir and the imitation Ladybug to feel that they even had the smallest of chances against Widower and Chat Blanc. The two of them were unstoppable, and Widower had a goal in mind. She would die before letting that goal go.   Tonight, her goal was simple. Sheâll either get her sister, Ladybug, on her side -- or sheâll kill her. Thereâs not an alternative. Itâs all the way or nothing.Â
Hawkmoth, of course, wanted something different. He was a fool, if he thought for a moment that Widower would ever be loyal to anyone other than herself first, and Marinette second. Hawkmoth was a tool to abuse, a stepping stone on her way to greatness. Just like Chat Blanc. The moment he proved useless, sheâd do away with him.Â
As the onslaught from the terrible duo continued on the heroes, Widower put her plan into place. Chat Blanc lead away his counterpart, leaving the spider and the bug alone.   Marinette didnât stand a chance.Â
Widower had to admire her sisterâs determination and strength. Even when it was clear that she was going to lose, she kept going. However, it was foolish. Widower had barely broken a sweat, and Ladybug looked like she was on the verge of exhaustion. Finally the misstep came, and Widower launched on the other. Ladybug was on the ground, and Widower was on her in an instant. She dug the heel of her boot into Ladybugâs wrist, ignoring her shout of pain. It was effortless, kicking away the shattered mask that had protected her sister.   Her attitude shifted slightly upon seeing that familiar face. A loud sigh left her. âMarinette, why must you always make things so difficult? Canât you see what Iâm trying to do?â She stepped off her wrist and straddled her. âThis world is terrible. Iâll give you a choice, let me help you forget, to start again, or die.âÂ
Bridgette Dupain-Cheng was dead and gone. She wouldnât be coming back. In her place was the monster Hawkmoth had created -- a rouge super villain who only wants destruction.Â

âYouâre always so good at trapping our prey.â Chat chuckles. âSaves me the cat and mouse games.â
He glances at their victim as the fire rapidly engulfs him, and takes a step back from the searing heat of the flames.
He grins widely back at his partner as she gently runs her hand over his claws, and he knows with just a twitch of his fingers he could effortlessly tear through her her suit and through the flesh of her hand
Heâs done it to many, many others before. Itâs a pleasure that he enjoys above all others, to personally rip his victims to shreds, their flesh spitting apart at the slightest effort on his part, and he can acutely tell how much it hurts them.
Though heâd never do that to his partner. Her suffering is no joy to him; one of the only people who thatâs true for.
He stiffens when she leans into him, but canât help but roll his eyes at her pouting. âIâm not saying we have to stop fire entirely, silly spider.â He takes another step back from the growing flames, and back from his poisonous partner in crime, before smirking casually at her.
âHmm, not sure. Getting out of here ought be a priority though.â
The rejection is plain enough as Chat Blanc steps away from her. Thatâs how it always goes. Widower is certain itâs because thereâs another in his life, and it makes her heart ache. However, sheâs sure sheâll win over Blancâs heart in the end. After all, they share a secret and connection no one else can ever hope to match.   Perhaps thatâs why sheâs so cruel to poor little Adrien. Itâs fun, to watch him try his hardest to win her heart. He never will.   Widower wonders for a moment if Chat Blanc experiences the same thing -- if heâs constantly chasing after a woman who will never love him.Â
Grinning wickedly, Widower puts the thoughts of rejection aside. âGood. If we stopped catching things on fire, Iâd have to start using my venom. You know how thatâs such a chore.â She sighed, dramatically blowing her bangs out of her face.   Widower looked back over at the flaming, writhing victim. âI suppose.â She brushed past Chat Blanc. âThereâs this individual Iâve been watching for awhile. I think sheâd look so pretty covered in red.â   Chloe was always such a pain in the ass, Widower was eager for an excuse to get rid of her. Maybe not actually kill her, but tormenting that bitch would surely be something special.Â

cxffeeandkitties:
ââŠâ Felix didnât really know what to say about the revelation that the nobility frequently seek out witchcraft.
Heâs honestly not surprised.
â⊠I feel like I should be surprised by that, but the nobles all have a terrible tendency to be two-faced and hypocrites, so itâs really not a surprise that they would be interested in witchcraft while talking down those of lowerclass who would dare to seek it out.â
When Bridgette says he chose a bad time to run away, he sighs, running his hands through his hair. âOf course.âÂ
He ran because he caught wind the his father was intent on arranging a marriage for him, and he was aggressively not interested, so he just⊠fled. Abandoning his responsibilities. Probably the worst idea heâs ever had, but he has no intention of going back. Ever.
â⊠A week?â He says slowly, his face going pale. Heâs still too close to the town for him to stay stationary for a week. He knows his father will send the guards out after. âI canât stay here a week! I-i have to keep moving! No no no noâŠâ He shakes his head quickly. âNo⊠the guards would⊠theyâd find meâŠâ
At the very least, he seemed to be aware of how two-faced his class could be. Bridgette didnât have the time to educate some poor naive soul to the ways of the world. Despite living in isolation, she had things to do, projects to complete. Another burden was the last thing she wanted.   Hopefully heâd more of a help than anything else.
Itâs a bit amusing, to watch Felix start getting restless and agitated and just generally making a fool of himself. A smile tugs Bridgetteâs lips as she sips her tea and pets Tikki, whoâs now happily curled in her lap and purring.   âThey wouldnât, unless they were looking for my house. Itâs enchanted you know. Only people who want to find it will.â She set her mug down. âIâll make you a deal, alright? Iâll protect you, for as long as youâd like, and in turn, you help me find someone. You donât even have to return to town. Iâd just like to see them again.âÂ
While she wouldnât make Marinette come back, Bridgette needed to talk to both her and Adrien. Sheâd go in disguise of course, revealing herself probably wouldnât help the situation. After all, sheâd allowed Marinette to leave. But she had to know: are they happy?Â
âHowâs that sound? Your a noble, you know nothing comes for free. I think youâre getting the better end of the deal, donât you?âÂ
Plagg casually comes up to Bridgette with a bracelet in hand. Smiling, she gave off the appearance of how she normally was but, she was far from normal. Being corrupted by an akuma changed her but, she was still going to act the same. "Bridgette. I got you a gift. I took a lot of time picking it out. Please wear it?" [places this here and walks away]
 @plagguu
When Plagg approached her, sheâd been absorbed in her homework. It was puzzling, as it often was, and she was attempting to understand the math concept. It wasnât going well. She was eager for the distraction, but surprised by Plaggâs sudden appearance.   Bridgette jumped slightly in surprise and turned around to face the familiar kwami. She smiled broadly and took the bracelet. âThank you! How kind.âÂ
For a moment she studied it, noticing how well it suited her style and personality. It felt like an incredibly thoughtful gift. âItâs beautiful!â She ran her fingers over the carefully crafted design, tilting her head slightly. There were warning bells in her mind though, and something didnât feel quite right.   Bridgette looked up at Plagg, refraining from putting on the bracelet on yet. âWhatâs the occasion? Something I should know about?â She laughed, her eyes carefully taking in Plaggâs body language. Sheâd learned long ago not to ignore her instincts.Â

âNameâs Lightning McQueen! Glad to finally be here!â
Bridgette smiled broadly at the pleasant newcomer. She offered her hand. âBridgette Cheng! Pleasure to meet you.âÂ

âThe Edge... There is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.â   - Hunter S. Thompson
@spottedcharms
Being the older sister meant a lot of things to Bridgette. First and foremost, it meant being a protector. Ever since the day Marinette was born, her parents had instructed her carefully.   âKeep good care of your sister, sheâs going to look up to you.â   âNo matter what, never let harm befall Marinette.âÂ
Perhaps thatâs why this akuma was so different than the others. Normally, Marinette was out of harmâs way. Ladybug was always able to bring the akuma away from the school, or the house, or wherever her sister may be. This time was different. This time the akuma wouldnât listen. On her own, there wasnât so much that she could do. Sometimes, the akuma would control the path of the fight. Unfortunately, it seemed that this was one of those times.Â
The akuma, whoâs name Ladybug hadnât bothered to remember, spit acid at her once again. She ducked and dodged, finally managing to snag the akumatized item. However, before she could break it, there was an indescribable pain. It was gone in a moment though, and she realized that Tikki was holding it. They had a job to do.   Ladybug broke the akuma and used her charm, keeping her eyes closed. She suspected something terrible, but she couldnât bring herself to test her theory yet. Trusting Tikki to guide her, she preformed the Miraculous Cure, and then started running. It felt as if she were on autopilot, with Tikki controlling the suit to get them to where they needed to be.   Eventually she stopped, and Ladybug did the thing sheâd been dreading all night.Â

His partner is undoubtedly his best friend, or as close as Adrien Agreste gets to having one. Out causing destruction and mayhem with her as Chat Blanc is the closest he ever gets happy, Certainly happier than he ever is as Adrien.
Knowing Widower she went out eagerly finding a victim ahead of him, and he doesnât exactly feel like causing havoc by himself, so he sets out to find his devious little spider, a smirk etched on his face as her tracks her down.
Blanc slips in quietly through a window, and chuckles at the words he hears his spider say.
âOh hush darling. It wonât hurt too much!â
He doesnât even know what sheâs doing yet, but he knows that with Widower, itâs probably not true.
âOf course I came.â He says smoothly, striding into the room proper. âIt would just be pawful to let you have all the fun for yourself.â He grins, his sharp, feline like teeth showing, and turns to their victim. âThanks for getting him all webbed up for me though, my itsy bitsy spider. I really apurrchiate it.â He takes the offered matches, lighting one, and with a brief pauses, smirks at their hapless vicim. âDonât worry, this will only hurt a lot.â Ignoring the muffled screaming of their victim, he casually flicks the match at him, and turns his grin to Widower.
âI know how you love fire, and trust me , I get it. But next time, can we get a little moreâŠâ He flourishes his hand dramatically, showing off his claws. âPurrsonal? Itâs more exciting to me that way.â
Chat Blancâs puns, while always uttered at the worst of times, only added to his overall charm for Widower. She simply adored them, and encouraged him every time he made one. A wicked smirk took over her lips as he took the matches from her. The screaming from the victim was such a irritation, even if it was a show of their success in instilling fear into the hearts of Paris.   âOf course, my prince. Like Iâd let this little pest get away from us.â Widower giggled a bit, stepping aside to give Blanc plenty of room.   Her webs were beautiful, always lighting up like gasoline. Trissh had mentioned her webs being laced with something, but Marinette hardly ever paid attention to particulars.Â
Widower beamed at Chat Blanc, taking a step closer and grasping his wrist with one hand, while her other gently ran over his claws. They were sharp, and sheâd seen the damage they could yield on more than one occasion. While heâd yet to hurt her, she was sure that it would be an injury like no other.   She sighed melodramatically, leaning forward and resting her chin on his chest. âI suppose so, if thatâs what you really want, my prince.â She pouted just a bit. âFire is just so bright -- so beautiful. I want to watch Paris burn.â Widower stepped away, her eyes going back towards their screaming, burning victim. She scrunched her nose up at the smell. âWe should get going. Iâd hate to get us trapped here.âÂ
There was plenty of havoc to wreck on Paris after all. They couldnât focus all of their attention onto one person in particular, especially not a kill that meant nothing.   âWhere should we go?âÂ
IMPORTANT - MUSE CHANGE
As of RIGHT NOW I will not be playing Marinette with few exceptions. Existing threads are not a promise that I will continue them. Iâve given it a lot of thought, and over half of my threads are Bridgette only. I will be including Marinette as a VERSE on my blog. If you only want to roleplay with Marinette, message me and weâll talk about it.Â
For now, my only roleplay with Marinette will be for @cat-astrophic-rp .
Iâll be editing my blog over the next few days, and will have a new promo out soon enough.Â

âYou arenât really in any condition to go home Lovebug. Not by yourself at least.â Even if her partner would suggest that Chat escort her home, the thought made her heart flutter, she doubted she would do it. The feline themed hero refused to take advantage of her while she was cold and most likely out of it. But without the safety of a home, there was really no where they could go where there would be no prying eyes.
Against her better judgement, Chat hoisted Ladybug up in a princess style, a smirk on her face, âI think, I may know the perfect place. Passed by it a few times, luxurious, big too. Not that hotel so donât worry.â FĂ©licia would rather hide her Lady at the Eiffel Tower and bury her in blankets than surrender her partner to her ânumber one fanâ. She made haste, trying to get to their destination as quick and smoothly as possible. It took a while longer so to be sure she didnât jostle Ladybug in her run, but finally Chat Noir landed on a very familiar wall gating the manor inside.
Blue cat eyes instantly zeroed in on the cameras she had to avoid when sneaking out or back in to her home. With practiced ease, she managed to slip them both inside her room.âI donât think anyoneâs here.â This place was much too big for her and her father. He hardly left his office or studio anyways. âI wonât tell anyone if you wonât. Besides, I doubt the residents would care if weâre taking shelter.â In reality, beneath the mask FĂ©licia was over the moon that her Lady was here, at her home, in her room.Â
Setting her partner underneath the blankets of the bed, Chat hummed happily, âCozy? I can find you extra covers if youâd like. Or make some hot chocolate. I bet my bell these people have the good stuff.â
Of course Chat Noir was right, it really wasnât a wise idea to head home in her state. Ladybug offered no complaint as she was picked up. Instead, she curled up more, hiding her face against Chatâs shoulder with a soft sigh. âAlright,â she murmured drowsily.   As they traveled, the wind seemed to bite into her, bringing a shiver over her spine despite the warmth coming from her beloved stray. Ladybug closed her eyes all the more tightly, curling in on herself as much as her position would allow. She wanted to be small, to be completely shielded by Chat Noir. While past winters had been bad, it had never been quite like this. Perhaps it was how long sheâd been Ladybug that made this one so different. Whatever the reason, she and Tikki would have to talk later to try and determine a way around this. They couldnât leave Paris, Chat, defenseless to an akuma.Â
It was only once their traveling pace changed from quick to slow and careful that Ladybug opened her eyes and realized where exactly they were. It was the Agreste manor. She hadnât been inside, but sheâd been to the front once or twice. On FĂ©liciaâs birthday, sheâd knitted a sweater for her. It was grey with black accents, something that fit her normal color scheme. While Bridgette had never seen FĂ©licia wear it, she hoped that she liked it. Although it was unlikely sheâd ever know for certain.   âChat, this is someoneâs house.â Her voice is weak, and the protest is barely there. Ladybug knows that sheâs not exactly in a position to say no. However, as they enter what Ladybug can only assume is FĂ©liciaâs room, she has the urge to protest again -- but then sheâs warm and cozy and it just feels so nice after being so cold for so long.Â
Sleepily, Ladybug curled in on herself and looked up at her partner. âYouâre going to get us into so much trouble one day,â she murmured. Ladybug reached up and took Chatâs hand, giving a light tug. âJust câmere would you? Youâre really warm and you purr...â Tomorrow she could regret doing this. Right now though, she was tired and cold and wanted the one person she trusted above everyone else to be close. Tomorrow she could look into the implications of staying in FĂ©liciaâs room and why the young woman wasnât here.   But right now Ladybug was going to sleep.Â

@spotted-and-speckledâ continued from here
The metal bands on Matiâs wrists clinked as he rubbed the sore spot on his head, still pouting at the hit. âI havenât forgotten. But considering we do our job and do it well Iâd say we earned some time off. At the very least an evening together.â His counterpart could be so rule oriented sometimes, but he wouldnât take her any other way. She burned much more brilliantly than even the Egyptian sun.
âWonât you grant me-â.
The words cut themselves short as he stood on the edge of the structure, cat ears flicking on his head trying to locate a noise as his sharp gaze darted around the ground. After catching a flash of silver, no doubt a weapon of some sort, it only took him a second before he zeroed in on the stable where all the commotion was originating. Distressed neighs from horses, equally frantic cries from a person, along with angry shouts and threats from unknown attackers.
A gold accented claw pointed towards the direction, âThere. Sounds like bandits. Caught a glimpse of a sword before they disappeared inside the stable.â What Mati lacked in âintegrityâ, he made up for with acuteness. His senses were razor sharp and even with the city life going on below them, hardly anything escaped him when he was paying attention. With a flourish he grabbed his staff, making haste to the spot, âAfter this letâs continue making arrangements. Lounging by the Nile?â
âYou keep assuming that Iâd like to take an evening off with you,â she pointed out. Perhaps it wouldnât be the worst thing in the world, but she had her eyes set on other things, other people. Their powers, these forms, were meant to protect their homeland and not for nonsense.   Hayat noticed the moment Matiâs attention shifted from their conversation to the city sprawling below them. She watched his face carefully, knowing that there was no point in looking down below until he was ready to point it out -- sheâd never see it.Â
Following his gesture, she couldnât make out much, except to know exactly where she was heading. Despite her comment on his integrity, she trusted him will all that she possessed. With a nod, she unwound her whip. At Matiâs continued flirting she shot him a death glare. âWith you? Not a chance.â She gracefully hopped from her perch, using the whip to catch herself. In a similar fashion, she made her way across the city, treading lightly on rooftops, once again thanking her small god for the gifts sheâd provided Fukayna with.Â
Upon arriving at the scene, it was just as Mati had described. Hayat tsked, glaring at the bandits who had yet to notice her. She saw the civilians and bowed slightly, giving them a smile. Once her cat had joined her, she cracked her whip towards one of the bandits, smirking as he yelped in alarm.   âWhat do you think youâre doing exactly?âÂ
badluckpersonified:
He prided himself in keeping his word, never to become a place of broken promises like his father. Never would he use sweet and gentle murmurs just to console someone for a moment then never deliver. His word was one of the only things he could do right. But with this, he knew he wouldnât be able to fulfill anything she said. Anything he said. Just goes to show this place really did twist things he once considered sacred. He was an Agreste that gave empty promises.
Refusing the urge to step back as she stepped closer, his eyes pinched shut at her yelling. Of everything, all the scathing treatments and punches, this probably hurt the most. Hearing her sobs, her pleas. No scolds or biting words, just the desperation of wanting to stay together, something he couldnât do anymore. Quietly he started shushing, wanting to lull the crying away, âShhh, I know. I did promise weâd get through this together. But I couldnât just sit there and watch you waste away in front of me.â
Hesitantly FĂ©lix stepped forward to close the distance between them, his hands faltering before they raised and rested on Bridgetteâs cheeks. His grip was slack, allowing her to pull away if she wanted. He thumbed away the tears, âYouâll need to go on alone, Iâm not going to be able to be here, so youâll have to manage without me.â FĂ©lix tried for a smile, albeit it was a small one but he mentally patted himself on the back as it was there nonetheless.
Honestly? He was terrified, he was scared of dying, of leaving her alone, not being here or able to protect her. Tilting her head down, he pressed his lips to her forehead, an innocent display of affection and one that would probably be one of their lasts. His arms fell back to his sides, only reaching out with one hand and letting his fingers loosely intertwine hers. He rested his forehead on hers, speaking softly,  âShhhh⊠itâll all be alrightâŠâ
Liar.
Despite his quiet murmurings, Bridgette couldnât get her tears to stop flowing. She had never been a particularly loud crier. As an only child, when she wanted to be upset by herself, she had to be quiet, or sheâd be found. Bridgette bit back the sob that wanted to tear out of her throat. She blinked to get the tears from her eyes, trying to focus on his expression. When FĂ©lix touched her, she didnât try and pull away, she didnât want to.   The world was so unfair. No one in here deserved this fate that drove people to such extremes, especially the extreme of killing another. It made Bridgette so angry that FĂ©lix was going to be taken from her. A life for a life -- she couldnât disagree with the punishment. Instead of blaming FĂ©lix, her anger was primarily directed towards the Warden and the poisoner for allowing this to happen in the first place.   âBut I donât want to be alone.â Her words were barely audible. His touch centered her on him, and Bridgette was able to forget all of those around them.Â
Bridgette held his hand tightly, closing her eyes as he rested her forehead on herâs. The moment felt private, despite the eyes that were likely focused on them. She wanted to snap at them, to tell them that this was none of their business, but there wouldnât be any point to that.   âItâs not going to be alright!â She sounded like a small child throwing a tantrum, but she didnât care. Killing someone was a terrible thing, yes, but she wasnât going to face all of that on her own. Already, she felt different inside. The fear of being alone here clawed at her, made her want to lash out and run away from everyone but FĂ©lix; perhaps she could hide somewhere until she starved to death. At least then she would know how she would meet her death.   Her fingers fisted in his jacket, holding onto him tightly as she trembled -- she wasnât sure if it was from fear or from sadness. "You said together or not at all.â Bridgette kept her words soft, almost like a prayer. Her mind drifted slightly. How many people would hate her for this? For letting him near after what he did?Â
