Is DIY HRT safe?
I'm transfem and my state has banned hrt for minors (which I am) and is in the process of banning it for adults maybe? (I don't know for sure). DIY is really the only way for me to get HRT so I want to know if it's safe
💚 so I can find it
In the realm of DIY drugs? It's pretty chill as long as you're not buying from a scammer and you're doing your best to follow basic hygiene and HRT guidelines.
Nothing is completely safe but it's definitely not super dangerous or anything like that. Most of the risks of doing it DIY can be managed/lowered or would exist even if you got it prescribed by the state itself.
This is a good website with a lot of information on it (It will ask if you're 18 but you don't need ID or anything, just say yes), including safety. This is also a guide with some good info as well!
I hope this helps! Lemme know if you have anymore questions, Anon, or need any more resources/specific advice. <3 I'd love to help anyway I can. 💞
(Also, good on you for working to get HRT for yourself despite everything, that's awesome!)
"can't drive" ok so this dude hasn't even tamed a bear for saddling? Lol ......
my saddled bear went on strike because she was sick of carrying me to work and not even being allowed to eat the fish i take care of at work😭
You ever think about how unified humanity is by just everyday experiences? Tudor peasants had hangnails, nobles in the Qin dynasty had favorite foods, workers in the 1700s liked seeing flowers growing in pavement cracks, a cook in medieval Iran teared up cutting onions, a mom in 1300 told her son not to get grass stains on his clothes, some girl in the past loved staying up late to see the sun rise.
there are scriptures all over the world painstakingly crafted hundreds of years ago with paw prints and spelling mistakes or drawings covering up mistakes. a bunch of teenage girls 2000 years ago gathered to walk around their hometown, getting fast food and laughing with their friends. two friends shared blankets before people lived in houses. a mother ran a fine comb through her child’s hair and told it to stop squirming sometime in the 1000s. there are covered up sewing mistakes in couture dresses from the 1800s, some poor roman burnt their food so well past recognition that they just buried the entire pot. there are broken dishes hidden in gardens of people no one even remembers anymore
children eleven thousand years ago enjoyed jumping around in puddles made from the footprints of a giant sloth. children loved muddy puddles so long ago there were still megafauna alive
There’s a record of an emperor of Japan in the 9th century talking about his cat - how pretty it is, and how it stalks birds and curls up in a circle and meows mournfully for company and escaped its collar. All completely normal ordinary cat things. And then it ends with him saying “it is superior to all other cats”. I am delighted to be united across 1200 years with this fellow cat owner with exactly the same feelings about his cat that I have about mine.
do it grieving
do it while the ground falls out from under you; do it while everything you loved goes up in smoke; do it while the dream of your future is still burning embers around you; build anew on the hot ashes of everything you worked for; keep going, keep loving, keep living, even as all you want is to turn back (there is no turning back; it is gone already); do it through grief, which feels like fear in the body
do it grieving
The tag I have seen most often on this post is "I needed to hear this," and I am so, so grateful to have said something that was needed. These words came out of the depths of my own grief, and I am so grateful to have made this small connection with others in the midst of it. Grief is isolating and indescribable, but none of us are alone.
That said, these tags were what I needed to hear:
we're all gonna make it
it's okay if you can't see how yet. you don't have to believe in better. for now it is enough to just keep going, and eventually the path will emerge. you are not alone. you are not lost in the woods forever. keep going. I love you.
a party of adventurers that are all equally convinced that they are in completely different forms of media
the mage keeps giving smug glances in the direction they assume a camera is in. the fighter keeps getting indignant about missing attacks because of "bad dice rolls." the rogue is doubtful that a villain is gone for good because "nobody ever stays dead in comics." the paladin attributes fortune to "good rng." none of them have even considered that "tumblr post" was an option
But what if it was all a dream
This is more unsettling. I know it's there. I know it should be there. I know this pristine landscape is hiding its horrors like teeth.
[I.D. an edited version of the "children's hospital" meme photo where the splattering red pattern on the hall floor has been removed. End I.D.]
Well duh. It’s just color theory
[I.D. black text on a white background, it reads,
Why does the colorwhite make me anxious?
"Contrary to popular belief, white can make us feel anxious if too much is used at once," Dunford says. "While most most people report feeling calm and relaxed in spaces with more of a natural and uniform palette, spaces with no variation in hue can elicit the opposite response." It makes a lot of sense. August 13, 2019

I am once again begging and pleading to people who don't like evil people in their shows to stop watching the everybody is evil show
the thing about art is that sometimes you'll be moved to tears by stuff that is not very good
hey did I ever post the best business card I’ve ever been given by a customer?
a woman wanted me to let her know if I had a particular item in storage, and she went to get a card out of her purse and went ‘oh no. I’m out of my work cards, I’m so sorry about this’ and handed me this:
apparently her husband made them for her as a joke but then she just had like 300 of them so they’re her backups when she runs out of her real business cards.
