Hello there!

I’ve had this blog for about 8 months but I’ve never introduced myself so here goes!

Hi! My name is Aramis, I am 20 years old and I am currently studying for a BA in Criminology from the University of South Africa. Until a few months ago I worked in a coffee shop until Miss Rona came in and decided that unemployment suited me better. Since then I’ve dedicated all my time to learning the art of Psychology and Law, annoying my family, Netflix and stalking the studyblr tags on Tumblr.

All the introductory posts I read contained a few interesting facts about the person behind the blog so here are a few ‘interesting’ facts about me.

I am an INTP and Aquarius

My first language is Afrikaans, English being the second

I’ve been trying to learn French for the last four years or so but have somehow only managed to remember how to cuss. Make of that what you will.

I like writing in my free time

Reading is another favorite way to pass the time. My favorite authors are Justina Ireland, Katherine Arden, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett

I adore Hozier and most days it takes all my willpower not to turn this into a stan account

One day my hope is to settle in Scotland, Sweden or France (even though I’m from one of the hottest parts of South Africa and can’t handle anything below 10 degrees Celsius with much grace)

I have a dog named Freya and 2 cats called William and Arthur

I originally wanted to become a vet but eventually decided that Criminology was the better option

Y'all for real please do these. Even if you're certain your posture doesn't suck. One day you will wake up with impinged shoulder pain like I did and let me tell you it fucking HURTS. Do these exercises even just once a week and it will make such a difference. Especially my fellow creatives out there, stop shrimping over your work and go do these right now. RIGHT NOW.

i'm begging you guys to start pirating shit from streaming platforms. there are so many websites where you can stream that shit for free, here's a quick HOW TO:

1) Search for: watch TITLE OF WORK free online

2) Scroll to the bottom of results. Click any of the "Complaint" links

3) You will be taken to a long list of links that were removed for copyright infringement. Use the 'find' function to search for the name of the show/movie you were originally searching for. You will get something like this (specifics removed because if you love an illegal streaming site you don't post its url on social media)

4) each of these links is to a website where you can stream shit for free. go to the individual websites and search for your show/movie. you might have to copy-paste a few before you find exactly what you're looking, but the whole process only takes a minute. the speed/quality is usually the same as on netflix/whatever, and they even have subtitles! (make sure to use an adblocker though, these sites are funded by annoying popups)

In conclusion, if you do this often enough you will start recognizing the most dependable websites, and you can just bookmark those instead. (note: this is completely separate from torrenting, which is also a beautiful thing but requires different software and a vpn)

you can also download the media in question (look for a "download" button built into the video window, or use a browser extension such as Video DownloadHelper.)

Option 1: try the DuckDuckGo search engine instead (bonus: dedicated to privacy! doesn't track your data!)

Option 2: go directly to LumenDatabase.org (the website that collects the complaints--and therefore the removed links) and search for the title you want. look for results titled "DMCA (Copyright) Complaint to Google" featuring the media you're looking for. Proceed to Step 3 (above).

personally, i'm a huge fan of r/FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH. they keep their links up to date and they also rank them, basically. they also have all kinds of little pages explaining how to safely pirate shit.
