This art pretty much summarizes everything and everyone I'd want to write for the most. Like, never in all my time of reading this series have a seen a better piece of official art given me so much.

Specifically them! Right here! It is such a treat to see all the characters I care about sitting casually on a couch, especially when contrasted with the current events of the series. This is basically everything I have and hope to write for in regards to my fic. Look at Tokoyami! Look at Dabi! (Do all those beer cans belong to Mirko?) All theses characters that I'm always thinking about, and they have an official spread of their own! What a gift!

WHAT I THOUGHT THIS GOT CANNED I’M SO EXCITED!

It was canned. Disney bought out Blue Sky Studios, the film’s former production house, and the film was subsequently cancelled even though the animation was already about 75% complete. Disney claimed it was for purely financial reasons, though former Blue Sky staffers later reported that the cancellation was actually carried out at least partly in retaliation after Disney execs told the production team to remove a same-gender kiss and the production team told the Disney execs to eat shit.

The fact that it’s been picked up by another production company is coming a bit out of nowhere for two reasons:

1. Disney’s habit is to sit on the rights to cancelled properties forever in order to prevent anyone else from profiting from them; it’s unclear why they decided to sell this one off instead.

2. It got picked up by Annapurna, of all outfits; Annapurna has pivoted strongly toward video games in the past few years, having produced only one other film since 2019, so it’s surprising to see them getting back in the game with a big-budget animated feature.

this morning when i woke up i had sleep paralysis so to pass the time i pretended that i was battling an invisible wizard who had cast an immobilising spell on me, and i focused on this wizard and thought at him "YOU HAVE NO POWER HERE" in a really loud mental voice, and as soon as i did that the paralysis went away like literally immediately
