I think one of the funniest abortion stances I've heard was from my parents neighbor. He's a like, hard-core libertarian viking larper guy who is very tall and very fat and very bald.
He believes a fetus is human with a soul, but also its "basically attacking the woman's body" so if she wants to get rid of it, that's "basically self-defense". He compared it to shooting a home invader. So he supports abortion not as healthcare, but as killing a baby in self-defense
Y'know I'm so glad someone reminded me of this. Because this was also discussed.
My stepmother did NOT like the way her Libertarian Viking Neighbor framed pregnancy as the fetus "attacking the woman". She incredulously told him this was extremely disrespectful to expectant mothers to portray pregnancy as so violent and negative.
Libertarian Viking Neighbor's response was that people consensually hurt each other all the time, and "there's like a whole community about that, with the acronym the one that starts with a B" And his reasoning was that if the mother was consenting to bring attacked by the baby, it in fact wasn't violent and negative because there was consent.
He brought up people consensually hurting each other, didn't go for one of the obvious answers like boxing or body mods or something, no he went STRAIGHT TO BDSM and he DIDN'T EVEN REMEMBER THE ACRONYM
i tried to be funny and it backfired miserably
it’s 2014 it’s time we moved on as a nation and stop reblogging this

World Heritage Post
daily reminder that there is absolutely nothing normal about being expected to waste a majority of your life at a corporation to survive instead of indulging in better life experiences ✨
In the 1960s it was a common speculation that by 1980 the typical work week would consist of 4 days. And by the year 2000 we’d be working no more than 3 days a week.
Because of computerization, automation, and better efficiencies in workflow.
Guess what happened instead?

What really makes this for me is that OP could have phoned it in on the chorus and just repeated the same fics, but no. They found a unique one every time. Class act.
This.
All the "young people are having less sex" panic is similar to the "less babies" panic. When women have more choice and education, they choose to not lay under or spread their legs for dumbass men.
Millennial women had a whole bunch of unsatisfying sex with men who hated their guts because they were groomed into it and didn't know better.
Millennial girls were being roofied at parties and were being told they're a tease or were "asking for it" if they go back to a guy's place alone. So they felt pressured to perform.
Millennial girls were told sex is empowering but there was no support and empowerment to deal with the emptiness after they offered their bodies to men who have zero regard for them.
Millennial girls funded their own abortions and Plan B pills and gyno visits post-sex and undertook all the risk and expense of promiscuous sex on their own- when the guy they did it with disappeared or ghosted.
Millennial girls were given speeches about how: 1.Orgasms are not the point of sex.
2. Love isn't the point of sex.
3.Trust, care and mutual respect is not the point of sex.
4. Intimacy isn't the point of sex.
5. Reproduction isn't the point of sex.
So left GenZ girls are wondering what the fuck is the point of sex with these men. And thank God they are.
Millennial girls were told "fun" is the point of sex.
GenZ girls realized that paying $300 of your own money for an abortion for a fuck you didnt even enjoy with a misogynist who hates you doesn't sound that fun. And, as a millennial myself, theyre right- it isn't.

"you only deserve food and shelter if you contribute to society" says people living in countries where nobody's labor actually feeds or benefits their neighbors anymore but exclusively benefits the companies keeping the food and shelter behind the artificial paywalls
You're not nomads relying on each other to hunt and gather anymore, you're talking about stocking shelves for fucking wal marts
And even the oldest societies on earth all took care of the elderly or sick anyway
dudes will be like "if you don't Contribute To Society you don't get to live, that's the simple facts" meanwhile their job is like Marketing and Brand Development Specialist
it’s funny how we’re getting to the point in the AI lifespan where you can feel the desperation from tech companies to have you use their AI features. instagram has moved their AI effects to the top of the menu when you’re creating a post for your story, exactly where the draw/edit button used to be. gmail is creating one-click AI-generated replies right before you open up the text box. spotify put a beta AI playlist generator on the front page that looks just like a search bar so all of their users accidentally click on it when they go to search for a song.
tech companies are shaking in their boots trying to prove to shareholders that their investment in AI is worth it, to the point where they’re tricking their users into using the AI features even for a split second in order to fudge the numbers. like awww is your little environment-destroying toy not wielding the results you hoped for? so sad!
