Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Worried about what to say?
Bring your personal worries about transphobia being signed into law, and trans friends being excluded from public spaces. You are a living person who deserves dignity. Remind your MP of that. You will also get guidance and brochures from Trans Solidarity Alliance that outlines our demands. This is mine from last year.
Money issues?
Trans Solidarity Alliance provides a travel bursary that you can sign up for via the link.
Got a refusal or no response from your MP?
Come anyway! You can request a same-day appointment with your MP through a process called greencarding. They will come and see you if they’re already in Parliament. Even if they don’t, they’re made acutely aware of your cause because you showed up in person. This is my greencard from last year.
Here is the EHRC Code of Practice in full. It's a tough read, but some highlights are:
Organisations can’t provide trans-inclusive, single-sex services, or they risk being sued for discrimination.
e.g. domestic violence support for women including trans women, men’s rugby group including trans men (12.68).
Trans people will have nowhere safe to pee.
If you’re a trans man, businesses can't allow you to pee in the men's, and you can also be ejected from women’s bathrooms if you’re perceived as a man. Vice versa for trans women. EHRC suggests a ‘third space’ bathroom, which is discriminatory and unworkable for most businesses. (13.130-133)
Sports organisations must exclude trans people from single-sex competitions (13.73).
A women’s only sports competition must exclude trans women because of their biological advantage or face potential lawsuits (13.74), but a trans man who has undergone testosterone treatment can also be excluded based on fairness rules (13.81).
Trans women are stripped of the legal definition of ‘lesbian’, and therefore no longer have legal protections if they’re discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation. (2.50, 2.92).
Here is the Good Law Project's better explanation of the EHRC Code.
I have also made a PDF printout of QR codes for the government petition, email your MP tool, and mass lobby link to pass around your communities. DM me and I'll send it to you.
hi! carey means needs help still - he's the voice actor for frylock in aqua teen hunger force! adult swim screwed him badly and pays no residuals and barely paid him during the show's run. he has heart failure and survives on con earnings, plushie sales, and donations while waiting for disability to get back to him. posts used to make the rounds for him, but haven't in a while, so i wanted to make a new post!
if you'd rather buy a plushie - here's the shop he and his wife run!
But low key makes me think about how people with adhd have been raised their whole lives to value a day based on what they accomplished vs what they experienced
I think your point is excellent. But also consider:
That list might say things like “Paint a picture. Go birdwatching. Finish that great novel I started reading. Call my grandma. Learn to bake a cake. Visit my sister. Play piano.”
For me at least, the good/fun things are harder without meds too. I can have the best intentions, but following through is hard.
pride on tumblr is so fun!!!11!!! the heart turns into a rainbow when you hit the like button 😆😆😆 the tumblr staff and algorithm continues to be exceedingly transphobic and especially transmisogynistic. trans women are getting banned left and right for merely existing. please don’t let another version of rainbow capitalism distract you
Every time I see you work on your neocities I'm tempted to make my own so I have somewhere to put my art (but I'm also kinda scared of coding ;_; )
TWIRLS AROUND AND SPINS AROUND I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD GIVE IT A SHOT!!!
i was scared because i have dyscalculia and i hate math so muchly but html and css turned out to be such a fun and engaging thing!! every little success has me jumping ten feet in the air and every difficult thing is more easily searchable and solvable than any thing i have ever tried to learn... w3schools i love w3schools for ever
im taking the opportunity to link some resources i personally like and used and HOW i used them becayse it can all be dauntingg here we goo
neocities starts you off with a very basic little interactive tutorial that gives you the first few things you need to build, which is really nice! dont skip it if youre a beginner >:)
w3schools html and css tutorials (im not touching javascript sorry javascript): truly very very good. everything and everything is in here. take it slow and do all the exercises even if they seem basic and silly. i went until i felt confident and from there i would only come back when i needed something specific. you dont have to do it all at once! the rest of the resources on here are only supplementary to this one!!
a lot of sadgrl's resources are missing now but there're still useful tidbits in there!
petrapixel has a bunch of beginner resources too!
css diner is my favourite practice thingy for css selectors specifically. good training!!
USING F12 TO INSPECT YOUR PAGE!!! its so useful for identifying the bits that arent working - theyll show errors and stuff.
there are lots of free templates out there too, but i think its good to learn about whats going on in there in at least a basic way and then going for a template if you wanna! i really like this layout tool since it's really modular and you still have to do all the designing >:D
if any tool here looks daunting it's best saved for later! dont go diving in the deep end. you can get away with using very simple starter stuff and still end up with a page!
OH ALSO A HUGE ONE! instead of notepad or notepad++ or the neocities editor page i use a thingy called pulsar. its kind of like if notepad++ was super cool and strong and also had a file directory so you can look at your whole project at once with the coding all pretty and nice. makes it so much less of a stress and it does a lot of really nice quality of life tinythings for ya like automatically closing brackets and stuff.
Black users! Have you ever experienced or witnessed antiblackness on this app?
Yes
No actually!
I'm not Black (yes you can press)
Remaining time: 1 day 7 hours
By witnessing, I mean you saw someone else Black getting mistreated. Experiencing also doesn't have to be direct mistreatment of you, it can be scrolling and seeing whitewashing, misused AAVE, anything that you saw and did The Sigh™ to.
This is so silly but I'm watching a short video essay on sincerity in cinema and the creator is talking about how he watched Lord of the Rings for the first time at 17. He explains that he'd grown so used to the 'ironic' meta style commentary in the movies of the 2010's that as he was watching the opening narration of LotR, he spent the entire time waiting for the joke to come. For someone to take it all back with a zinger line. He listened to Blanchett describe and explain the backstory, and he waited for the other comedic shoe to drop.
And he kept doing it. Scene after scene.
He spent the film expecting someone to make a joke about how unserious things were or to break the fourth wall or do some other self referential type thing.
Now, maybe I'm just at that point in my cycle or maybe I'm too delicate in general, but I literally teared up hearing that. Straight up cried a bit. It is so fucking sad that sincerity and genuineness is being bred out of people.
People say all the time 'this generation can't take anything seriously!' and really, is it any wonder? Younger people have been trained out of it. You are no longer encouraged to be genuine or show emotion or be honest. You are actively punished for it. In fact, you are almost guaranteed to suffer for it.
That is so fucked up. I'm sorry to go on a bit of a random ramble rant but it's so fucking gut wrenching to see younger people lose that element of themselves. You can't express your passion without being told you're 'crashing out' or 'cringe'. You have to live in this neutral state of fear of perception, and god forbid anybody step outside of it!
You're told you should only consume and succumb and be ironic and emotionless and cool.
Listen, if you're following me and you're like.... 25 or under, let's say. Please. I beg of you. Do not fall for this rhetoric. Please, for the love of all things, feel. Feel and create and be honest with yourself. Indulge in things that make you happy. Be sincere. Wear your heart on your sleeve. Do not let this hyper-capitalistic, hyper-consumerist, self-centred, individualist culture take that from you.
Bleed yourself into the work you create. Live. Don't fucking let anyone tell you different.
when i was at walgreens (at 3 in the morning which explains all of this) the cashier was talking to her coworker about how shed rather be a werewolf than a vampire because vampires are condemned to hell but werewolves arent and then she asked me what i thought and i said vampire because im already condemned to hell and she said in the nicest tone of voice “i dont think anybody is condemned to hell….” paused, stared at me for a few moments, and added on “…not even gay people”
when i was in the adventure zone fandom i was like 12 among a bunch of people in their like. 20s at the youngest, because the podcast is made by and targeted to mbmbam fans which is largely younger millenials/zillenials/Maybe the oldest of gen z. like id go on tumblr after a hard day of being a middle schooler and then the people id follow would post like "thinking about taakos tentacle fetish again" and then "btw just published my third literal novel! should be distributed to barnes and noble soon :)"
and now i am in the object show fandom where everyone is like 10 years old and it feels so bizarre. i keep mentally comparing bfdi and TAZ because in all honesty there is quite a lot of comparison to be made, particularly with how both stories treat the idea of retroactive world building. but like i cant really talk about the similarities and the lessons i took from being a TAZ fan bc like a third of the object show fandom were newborns when balance ended and thats not even an exaggeration bc the finale came out in 2016.
Every time I hear people talk about satanic imagery or satanic propaganda I think about that tweet that was like, some people view Satan as a video game villain where he gets stronger the more people worship him
