The frozen water on the grass being an accumulation of droplets carried with the wind from the waterfall Seljalandsfoss in Iceland. Sometimes I can feel so frozen up, stiff and cold. I have been looking at the word ice and the rune Isa. Sometimes, especially during winter in the north you tend to slow down and want to rest or 'gå i ide' as we call it in Swedish, take the winter rest like the Bears do. It is like a time to gather your strength, go inside and reassess self, a time for processing on a deeper level. It is also in this space where I can become creative on other levels of myself. I also like it to the night. Since it is dark in wintertime in Scandinavia it is like a very long night. During the night I relax and open up to myself. I cozy up in warmth supporting myself from the frost outside. But if I do not relax and I fight the cold I become rigid and harsh, I tense up and have a difficulty moving. When I fight it, it is because I desire to not be constricted I am coming at it within a force of resistance, reaction to it and an inner anger and frustration. In this resistance I fail to see that I am one with the winter, the dark and the cold and I can actually embrace it as me and go deep within to open up to me, investigate and see. More on this in next post.. _______________________ #seljalandsfoss #nature #winter #spring #sunny #frost #ice #iceland #cold #stuck #rigid #intense #calm #stand #scandinavia #north #icequeen #introspection #insights #lookingin #winterrest #ide #gåiide #sleep #rest #harsh #swedish #forceful #agressive #embrace
