It's amazing what props can do for your practice. Many new practitioners think using props is an announcement that they're new to yoga or that they're not good enough for the pose without them. FALSE. Props can keep you in safe alignment and help the progression of you practice. I never thought I'd be able to come close to this press, I've been practicing it for about a year with no improvements. The other day someone suggested a strap, and voila! • Using a strap around your upper arms in arm balances/inversions gives you super powers! As your weight transfers to your hands, elbows naturally want to splay out. • Until you have the strength to keep your arms straight, try pressing the arms into the strap to assist. • For this particular transition, I like placing my strap about an inch above my elbow so I have room for my knees to fit into my armpits in Crow. One year YTT anniversary class with @nanuyogini and @victoria.arvizu last night 😊 I can't believe it's been a year since we graduated.
