Totes. He’s actually and unconsciously referring to himself the whole movie tbh. He’s, like, so knee deep inside that mess (and I do side with the theory that he was brainwashed) that he slowly starts to lose his grip on reality itself (kind of like Azula in ATLA). This was my favorite part:
