i'm just not afraid to admit that i'm psychotic anymore.
i'm schizophrenic. i started presenting in childhood. this has just been a part of me my entire life. whether or not i'm medicated, i see and hear things that aren't there. i experience delusions and delusional thinking. i struggle with thinking straight, and i need a lot of time to think. i experience times where i just can't talk. i experience episodes where i can't move. i experience times where i can't stop talking. i experience episodes where i make absolutely no sense and say things i don't agree with afterwards. i get very emotional. i get very irritable. my memory is horrible. i'm easily suggestible.
that's something i can't just get rid of. i can learn to manage it, and i can take as much medication as is tolerable, but i don't deserve to feel ashamed for being this way. i'm not schizo or delulu, i'm a schizophrenic person. i'm a psychotic person. i'm a person. i'm not lesser than you. i'm not worth less than you. no psychotic person is worth less than you. we're people just like you. we don't deserve to feel ashamed of how our brains are wired. it's not a personal or moral failing to be psychotic. especially when you're schizophrenic.
