I think a lot of people who are complaining about the lack of content in Paralives are forgetting just how fucking bare bones the sims 4 was at launch.

for example:
Short Lepacy - Week 2
Violeta Krause is the Strangerville Hero and Gen 2 Heiress of my Short Lepacy.
With the Mother Plant defeated, Violeta actually has time to get a job, and since I already had Marisol in the Military, I decided to have Violeta be a Freelance Artist, since she'd discovered a love for Painting.
Violeta and Jose dated for all of two Sim Days - Hey, I'm on Short Lifespan! - before I had managed to collect enough Simoleons to move them into a house more fitting for the Strangerville Hero. Marisol and Cameron, meanwhile, moved into the girls' childhood home, so it stays in the family, and we end Week 2 with the revelation that Violeta is pregnant.
Gen 3 is a-coming!
Short Lepacy - Week 2
Violeta comes back home to a turned Marisol, but we won't have that, so she quickly gets a vaccine handled and recruits people to battle the Mother Plant. Marisol manages to confess to Cameron before the final battle, firmly cementing her as Marisol's Significant Other.
Team Strangerville is comprised of the girls, Erwin Pries and Jose Goth - the two top contenders for Violeta's Partner - and the battle against the Mother was, surprisingly, pretty tough this go around. The battle concludes without a clear Partner yet in sight, but Jose manages to sneak into the lead with the revelation that he actually finds Violeta Attractive, and so both girls have found a Partner.
No need to look so nervous, Violeta dear. You won out in the end for Gen 2 Heiress.
Short Lepacy - Week 2
Marisol is living her best life - not noticing a bloody thing - except for how cute the older sister of one of her childhood friends has gotten. Her name is Cameron Parr, and she's always willing to listen to Marisol complain about her paranoid twin.
We spend a couple of sad days mourning the loss of Lori, who passes away before Violeta manages to solve the mystery, which is sad :(
Turns out though, Violeta had plenty of reasons to be paranoid! Her meeting with the Mother is sure to push Strangerville in a very interesting direction.
Short Lepacy - Week 2
Violeta infiltrated the military base to find out some answers. Marisol works for the military though, so she's being very hush-hush about her snooping around.
She did great, but this is when I realized that there's a bug that makes her slim down sometimes when wearing certain outfits. Trust me, she's still decidedly plus-sized. Comes with being a Foodie who hates Fitness. Damn you game, let her be the Queen she is!
She managed to open the door leading further down, which, well... Let's say she soon realizes why that door was locked in the first place.
Short Lepacy - Week 2
Aging Up into a Young Adult starts Gen 2, and we officially roll the new Expansion or Game Pack. I - obviously - rolled Strangerville, so that's where we're going for this Generation!
Marisol Krause Aged Up into a Creative and Kleptomaniac Bookworm, and retained her Joke Star Aspiration. Violeta Krause, on the other hand, Aged Up into a Mean and Paranoid Foodie, who realized she wanted to solve the Strangerville Mystery.
The two of them moved to Strangerville together - because I still wasn't really sure who I wanted to Sim as Heiress - and they moved into a slightly revamped Starter Home, where they greeted a very curious Welcome Wagon.
Short Lepacy - Week 2
Marisol Krause Aged Up into a Creative Kleptomaniac, who wants to be a Joke Star, while Violeta Krause Aged Up into a Mean Foodie who wants to be a Renaissance Sim.
They're two VERY different Sims, but they're also BFFs. Very supportive sisters <3 Katrina Caliente died, making every blonde family member incredibly sad, and I sent the girls on a group gathering to the Bar with their group of friends to see if I could prompt any sort of romance developing.
Spoilers: I could not. ):
Violeta completed the Career Requirements for Renaissance Sim by attempting the Part-Time Jobs as a teen, and soon enough, it was time for them to Age Up to Young Adults, and start Gen 2!
Short Lepacy - Week 2
Lori made it to the top of the new Career - making those big bucks without working ever again, 'cause she'd saved up two weeks' worth of PTO - and the girls make it through a Short (TM) Childhood loved by their family.
Their Teen Birthday roll around, and by god... Birthday Makeovers, never change. (Also, that random teen is one of their friends who aged up at THEIR birthday party. Classy, dude.)
Short Lepacy - Week 2
Back to the Short Lepacy, the girls age up into Children.
Marisol Krause became a Kleptomanic Rambunctious Scamp, while Violeta Krause became a Mean Whiz Kid. We immediately set to making them some friends - and future spouses - while the adults were enjoying themselves on the sidelines.
📩 Simblr question of the day: What is your earliest memory/experience with The Sims franchise?
answer in whatever way is most comfortable for you and feel free to share this SQOTD around, make sure to use the hashtag SQOTD and tag me in separate posts ~ 💛
This question was contributed by an anon ~ Thank you for submitting multiple questions ~ (this is question 7 of 12 from this specific anon)
Playing The Sims on my grandmother’s PC during the weekends, not really not having any clue what I was doing, ‘cause it was in English and I still hadn’t started learning it in school 🤣
Short Lepacy - Week 1
The twins are identical - oh woe is me - but they are so STINKING cute!
The gal in purple is Violeta Caliente, who aged from an Intense Infant to a Fussy Toddler. (Spoiler: the theme continues onto Childhood 😬)
Her twinnie, meanwhile, is Marisol Caliente, who aged from a Sunny Infant to an Independent Toddler.
I have no clue who I'm picking for heir. I love them both so much. At the end of the week, they Aged into Children, and while you ain't getting their makeovers until next week, their birthday made me roll the Urban Homage Kit into existence, completing our 3 unlocks for Gen 1.
Short Lepacy - Week 1
Lori and Don are still going steady as partners outside of Dina and Lori's domestic bliss, and he does help with the housework around the house, though he isn't moved in with them.
Lori had their Adult birthday in the new house, prompting me to roll for our first Stuff Pack/Kit, and we got Party Essentials. They chose to propose to Dina just after Aging Up, and she - of course - said yes.
After a bit of an Adult makeover, I thought it was time for some infant gameplay and had them get a science baby... Only to get two.
Short Lepacy - Week 1
Dina Caliente (Hello favorite basegame townie 💚) became Lori's Spouse. They have the Unpredictable relationship dynamic, which is both fun and stressful to play with at times 🤣
Once Lori started making the big bucks as a Romance Consultant (they went the Matchmaking route), they bought a big mediterranean home near Dina's family. The Calientes are over here constantly now.
Also, I built it myself, which is a RARITY. I really like how it turned out though. It was basically empty at this point - no money to furnish - but that is rectified quickly.
Short Lepacy - Week 1
Lori started out the Gen as a Romantic Explorer, and once they'd completed that Aspiration, they segued directly into Serial Romantic.
I LOVE Cupid's Corner and the new Date Mechanic. I usually never went on Dates unless the Aspirations required it, but I can see myself using Cupid's Corner and the new Dates a lot for general gameplay.
Lori had A LOT of partners during their YA stage, but once they’d completed Serial Romantic and veered into Paragon Partner, they got a 'settled down' makeover, and started going more steady.
New Casual Gameplay - Household Update
I'm playing a Short Lifespan Lepacy with my own rules (found below) to get back into the swing of things, 'cause it's been a hot minute since I last played the Sims, much less posted anything to Simblr.
I wasn't really intending on posting anything, but I can't help myself from screenshotting, so here we are 😅
Introducing Lori Krause, the Lepacy founder and the first Sim I played through Lovestruck with. Lori is an Evil Foodie bit by the Lovebug, and their first aspiration was Romantic Explorer.
Meet the Larkins! Well, one Fletcher Larkin, and one Steph Bolton. They have been dating since college and after having lived in a crummy little apartment in San Myshuno for years, they decided they need fresh air and packed up and left. They are currently renting a small house in Willow Creek, but hope to save up for their own house one day.
Fletcher works with Tech stuff and Steph is a charity organizer.
Welcome to the Larkin Legacy!
Shout out to @itssimplesimblr for the banner :D
Going back to read an all-time favorite of mine from the beginning (again, for the umpteenth time) 😂
@trash-llama's gameplay is always the pinnacle of inspiration for me, and whenever I feel like I want to get back into the Simblr-swing of things, their blog is ALWAYS my first stop.
Can't wait to revisit all my favs, especially Danika ❤️
For anyone who hasn't read the entirety of the Larkins - and the Swans by extension - you don't know what you're missing out on! 💯
Whew! This set took a lot of tweaking, but I really love how they came out! 🤩 This is another 10 generation challenge, this time it's the Solar System Legacy Challenge by @ginovasims
Graphics by me! 🖤 I had to paraphrase a few of them for the sake of space, but hopefully it's still clear. What challenge should I make graphics for next??
