LONGTAIL

I’m Burnt Out so I’m just gonna make a blurb of rewrite info.

Rewrite blurb below the cut! (Warning for talk of death!)

Longtail, in the rewrite, becomes Deputy! He’s named it at the beginning of Firestar’s leadership, and after he’s blinded he stays in that position. He has to relearn everyday life, yes, and he can’t do everything he could before. But Firestar wasn’t going to let that change his decision! His blindness impacted his warrior duties and how he went about them, switching to a more hunter-like lifestyle, but it didn’t change his leading abilities one bit.

Longtail survives up until he dies of his injuries in the Great Battle. Firestar dies before him, and he names Brambleflower the new leader before passing away. Longtail goes out being the most ThunderClan-y he can be, and embodying everything he strove to be.

JAKE

I wanted Jake to look super chunky, but also extremely similar to Firestar!! He’s just a chunky hunky lad who loves his boyfriend and his kits (even if Jake doesn’t view them as his own kids, and instead as nephews and nieces)

BONE

I’m gonna be more simple/broad with this, since explaining in depth like I have been has been a little exhausting.

I just wanted him to be big, muscly, and tough looking! He’s just a big man with a gay collar and a skull marking. I also based his chin off my friend’s real life cat.

Some stuff not relevant/shown here but I wanna say:

- He and Scourge worked together to scratch out the info on the back of his collar so they couldn't be separated!

- Bone’s kittypet name was Clover

Bone and Scourge were the leaders, though technically/officially Bone was the Deputy. After Scourge killed Tigerstar they bid the Clans goodbye and started a friendly relationship with Firestar.

They ended up helping him form SkyClan and stayed behind/migrated to live with SkyClan, basically adopting the traditions from them. They also followed along with SkyClan to the Lake!

Bone and Scourge retired together, and likely died of old age together.

TIGERSTAR (AVOS)

(Requested by a Friend)

I wanted to go for a pretty simple stripe situation, as I felt like it fit him more than any super complicated pattern would. He had to be bigger/chonkier, c’mon he needs the dad bod!

I gave him a dewlap simply because he gives me the vibe of having one. I also wanted to give him a leetol heart on his chest because he’s adorable, and it just fit.

He has white dots on the back of his ears as his leader mark! StarClan thought it’d be funny to make him look even more like a tiger. Specifically Dawnpelt and Flametail, in proper sibling fashion.

I’ve decided to leave out Leadership Herbs unless it calls for a special situation, as they’re pretty hard for me to draw. I will still detail them though!

Puddleshine gave him the Lily of the Valley, meaning Sweetness, Return to Happiness, Humility, and “You’ve made my life complete.”

Shadowsight gave him the Hydrangea, specifically only for the meaning of “Thank you for understanding”/Heartfelt gratitude for being understood.

MAPLESHADE

(Requested by my QPP, @/attackoncatss)

Mapleshade here was designed without giving much thinking to her shapes, but afterwards I can see some things that shows her nature. She looks deceivingly soft, with a few edges and a hint she’s not quite how she seems.

She also looks like she has a mother-like figure, specifically looking a bit chubby. That part was intentional, I wanted to make her look very fluffy and thick furred.

I don’t know much about her position in my rewrite, but she’s likely the same. I do know that she has a very soft spot for kits or young apprentices, and anyone who happens to abuse them in any way will die by her claws.

She absolutely batters and destroys Thistleclaw after he is killed and she discovers what he did, double killing him pretty much instantly after he joins the Forest’s wanderers.

Edit: I feel I should add that this doesn’t erase how she treated Crookedstar, she still did awful shit to him. Apologies if I made it seem like I was erasing how she treated him, I don’t want to do that at all.

GRAYSTRIPE

He looks a lot like his last design, but I tried to make him look soft, square, friendly, and chubby. I tried to make him look friendly, warm, and trustworthy. He’s also meant to look soft and warm. As I said with the last design, he just has a beauty mark because it’s fitting for him.

In my rewrite, he’s never deputy. He’s instead just a very dedicated warrior who loves his boyfriend leader. Instead, Longtail is deputy! I’ll leave the details to when I post him.

Graystripe, in this rewrite, is in an open polyam relationship with Firestar and Sandstorm, and also is mates with Millie and Silverstream! In StarClan they become a very wholesome polycule.

LEAFPOOL

I decided to make her a classic tabby simply because of how soft and sweet it makes her look. I tried to make her appear sweet and warm, along with sort of chubby (to quote myself and my mom, she has a mom bod), but also strong and stable because even though she is a medicine cat she could absolutely kick your ass.

As with her previous design, her medicine cat herbs are Yellow Tulips and Purple Violets. The Yellow Tulips symbolise Cheerful Thoughts, Sunshine, and Hope, and the Purple Violets symbolise Daydreaming and Love between Two Women (or Mollies, in this case!) They grow near her ears and on her back, specifically near her neck and shoulders.

Leafpool, once her secret is out, is very motherly openly to her kits, and even before that she’s a very involved aunt to her kits. She also has Bramblestar in on her secret, because I see no real reason for him to not be told about this. Leafpool and Squirrelflight are, after the reveal, both treated as the Three’s mothers. They stay that way for forever.

Leafpool also surrogates for Bramblestar and Squirrelflight since Squirrelflight is trans (and also barren), and is very happy to be doing so. She’s just so happy seeing her sister being able to be a mother again!

She also is very encouraging to Jayfeather to follow what he wants instead of what ableist cats say he must do, along with being very supportive to Hollyleaf for realizing she can’t be a Medicine Cat (she’s very squeamish and doesn’t find the joy in it she thought she would), and to Lionblaze who decides to become her apprentice (after accidentally killing someone he’s extremely sickened by even thinking of being a warrior, especially after training in the Dark Forest)

Quick Update

Gosh I'm such a scatter brain! This is a quick text update to mention I updated Tallstar's post to add in an alternate in which he has the flowers I give my leaders, plus explaining his leader mark + the flower.

TALLSTAR

I tried to make him look like an Oriental, since they just,, encompass him? Not sure how else to explain it. I also tried to make him circular and angular to show he’s both active and all that, but also kind and soft. Besides that, there’s not much to really say about his design. He just be a black and white man whom I love.

EDIT: Forgot to mention stuff so I’ve added it below!

He has a heart on his chest as his leader mark, to show his loving nature and how sweet he was.

Since he only ever had one medicine cat, he only was given one herb. Barkface's herb was the Cattail, meaning Peace and Prosperity, which he wore until his very dying breath.

Tallstar, first of all, continues to see Jake and mates with him until they both die of old age. Jake isn’t a warrior or anything, he’s more of a Wild Kittypet who visits and helps out the clan.

Tallstar also doesn’t change deputies, since he doesn’t even have Mudclaw as his deputy when he’s dying. He instead has Hopstep (named Deadfoot in canon), who then picks Mudclaw and doesn’t change it (more on this when I draw Hopstar or Mudclaw.)

Tallstar is a very fatherly figure to all of his clan, along with being one to Firestar. He never has or adopts kits himself, which is fine with him, he just has his clanmates and his mate’s sons.

TAWNYPELT

I tried making her more square and sturdy, along with being chonky looking! I wanted her to be strong and fluffy like her father and brother, even giving her a sorta mane, since it seemed fitting for her. I also gave her a more yellow-y orange color for her colored tortoiseshell parts, to be similar to her mother!

I don’t have a real plan for her in my rewrite yet. I’ll figure it out sooner or later!

SANDSTORM

I wanted to keep her very similar to her previous version, I enjoyed it and still feels like Sandstorm to me. I gave her spotted mackerel stripes this time, simply because I liked that for her, and tried to make her look sleek but strong. She’s angular to look active, and like she can pack a punch.

Not much changes for her in my rewrite besides being in a polyam relationship with Firestar and Graystripe (+ having Millie and Silverstream as metamours)

FIRESTAR

When I went into this redo, I knew I wanted to keep elements of my past one but I also wanted to fix it up and make it more current! I made his pelt more warmer and reddish orange, along with making him a tabby. Sort of. I gave him the classic tabby markings in the middle, but nowhere else. The swirls felt more soft and sweet like Firestar. I made sure to make him circular and soft, to fit his personality. I also gave him the tabby ‘m’ because it fit for a former kittypet to have one of those.

He has a bell on his chest/neck as his leader mark, to call back to his kittypet roots! The fox trap gave him a scar that seemed to line up just perfectly with it, which he finds very ironic and would make jokes about it to Brambleclaw, and Hawkfrost whenever he visits.

The herbs his medicine cats gave him are as follows:

Cinderpelt's herb was the Sunflower, meaning Adoration, Longevity, and Loyalty. Leafpool's herb was the Chrysanthemum, meaning Optimism, Joy, and Long Life. And Jayfeather's (or Lionblaze's, in my rewrite) herb was the Black Tulip, meaning Power, Strength, and Supreme Elegance.

Nothing really changes for him in the rewrite, besides being in a polyam relationship with Graystripe and Sandstorm (+ having Millie and Silverstream as metamours), never having a crush on Spottedleaf, and being very close with Scourge/reforming SkyClan with his help.

SNOWKIT

I'm soft for Snowkits with floppy or folded ears, it's just so.. Snowkit! Plus, it makes them resemble their dad.

They’re meant to look sort of scruffy but soft, since they seem like an overall kind kid, but also very determined. I also made their fur blue-tinted instead of pure white, since I felt it was a bit boring.

Snowkit, in my rewrite, never dies. They're nearly taken away by a Hawk, yes, but they get saved by a combination of Brightheart, Brackenfur, and Speckletail's efforts.

Snowkit, who grows up to be Snowspeckle, is the founder of sign language for the Clans! They are mentored by Brackenfur while their sister, Mistletalon, is mentored by Brightheart.

They, along with Leafpool, Squirrelflight, and Brightheart all encourage Jayfeather and help him accept he has to be trained differently, yes, but that doesn’t make him any less of a warrior.

I may give them kits and a mate, but I’m not entirely sure yet! I’d have to wait for a while to decide and all.

PINESTAR I've made him very soft and kind looking, I may know nothing about him but he seems like a sweet cat and I wanted to reflect that. The roundness is also my attempt to get that across.

I wanted him to be a tabby like his son, but not exactly a mackerel one. So I decided to go instead for a classic tabby! I thought it looked calm and soft.

His leader marking is the heart on his chest, which StarClan let him keep because I say they’d accept him and his choices. He didn’t wear the herbs his medicine cats gave him after leaving, as he was getting older and had no access to them. If he ever got his paws on them he’d gladly wear them.

Goosefeather gave him, at first, an Orange Mock, meaning deceit, as he was resentful of his fate, but, as he got to know the leader more, told him to swap them out for Zinnias, meaning “thinking of you”, remembering absent friends, and sentimentality.

Feathertail simply gave him an Oak Leaf for strength.

Edit: Just realized I forgot to mention he has a quick release collar!

I may not have read Pinestar's Choice yet but I will die on the hill that cats who want to leave the clans or have kittypet friends are valid. Let them do what they want Erins!!

In my rewrite, he had his left front arm amputated due to being hit by the monster. He didn't get it amputated in ThunderClan, everything was a bit too hectic for him to consider that, but his twolegs decided it would be best for him due to the arm causing health problems.
