Men have been teaching women how to act for them for over a millenia. When women start to get more freedom over things and they show men how they want to be treated- THE MEN COMPLAIN LIKE THEY LITERALLY HAVEN'T DONE THE SAME THING FOR SO LONG. Times are changing- GET OVER IT.
And a girls father still shows them how to treat men- it’s just not as direct as a woman purposefully teaching her son. It’s learned from how the girl is taught how to treat the father.
If the first man wants a more direct version of how a father teaches their daughter how to treat men- the my dad is the PERFECT example. My father is a touchy person and has LITERALLY said that my future husband won’t like me if I don’t want touch- AND THAT IS WHEN I REJECTED A HUG.
Would You Know You’re Made of Light- If You, Were Born Into the Dark?
“The blues, and greens are so pretty.” Lance gives a lighthearted, toothy grin, creases forming by his sapphire eyes. Lance just letting everything happen.
He lets all of his worry go for the moment and he relaxes.
All until words leave the Cuban boy’s mouth that weren’t thought about, “It almost reminds me of- ,” it strikes himself quick and sharp, paining Lance as he sucks in a quick breath, “Earth.”
The realization dawns upon the Cuban boy with a throbbing ache. His shoulders tense. He hadn’t seen his family in so long. All of the things- the people- he had unwillingly left there. Gosh, they didn’t even know where he went, and he didn’t know what was going on down there. No news, nothing to tell him any detail.
It all scared him to death, knowing he could just die out here and he’d never get the chance to say goodbye- to say sorry for leaving.

In their new reality, Keith & Lance live together on a farm revived from juniberries where Keith’s shack resides. They co-lead the blade of marmora, reforming it into a humanitarian organisation together, spreading Allura's message of peace and love across the universe.
This year's theme is REBUILDING!
Think of it like, rebuilding their team dynamic, rebuilding the B.O.M, and perhaps, rebuilding the future with a proposal or a little daughter called Juniper? 😉

Lance: I- oh. Wow. Honestly, I’ve never actually had someone hit on me before.
Hunk: With a boar?
Lance: At all.

Keith: You like… the dead animal.
Lance: Maybe something smaller, but this looks edible, and… it’s nice to not eat food goo. Weirdest gift ever, sure, but it’s from a good, non-serial killer-y place. So, yes, I like it. Thanks, Mullet.
Much like canon, his mom left cuz she had to do blade stuff- but Keith doesn’t know that. How? His dad covered it up by saying she was in a car accident and passed away. Keith was bullied severely by other kids because of that, and it only got worse after his dad died, saving people from a fire.
A seven year old without parents.
Keith lost all hope in things and people, not caring anymore, so he did what he wanted, when he wanted. He knew he’d just switch foster homes eventually, after families got sick of him.
Though, when Keith was twelve, he had found a friend in Lance. And it sparked hope in him, something telling him it would be alright and that maybe the world wasn’t so bad(See K/L backstory). But then a falling out happened, and the phase after the loss of his father came back worse- like a powerful tidal wave.
Then Keith met Shiro when Keith was fifteen, who was patient with this impulsive and angry kid, and who brought him to the Galaxy Garrison and the present day.
