I believe we should dive deeper into the idea that when Aiden and Ben started living together they both were mentally at their lowest and were left alone in that .
I like to think they tried to make it easier on each other but it was mostly a “ how can you teach the drowned how to swim when you yourself are sinking” situation.
Also I HC that at some point before moving to Georgia they made a promise to each other that they’ll do their best and try living, no matter how mentally difficult it gets on them.
I have so many thoughts n they make me emotional ok?
- I dont think Bens going to talk in Season 3. I think he will scream. Like. An absolutely gut wrenching scream. If the groups together only Aiden will recognise it. If its just him and Ashlyn, it will he a broken human scream amongst millions of other Phantom noises, one she will have to pick out from the crowd and follow to find him (assuming they are split)
- Ben and Aiden defo got close when they were at their lowest and (unknowingly) were a big part in helping eachother get better. I feel like the only one who Ben feels truly sees him is Aiden. Whether Aiden shares that sentiment i dont know...
- Definitely the best older brother in the world. Maybe him and Lily were at odds when Ben started to not use his voice because Lily simply didnt understand (because shes a kid) and wanted to hear him sing again. Eventually she got a grasp of what Ben was going through and apologised (i think shes pretty emotionally intelligent for her age because, well, she had to be given what the families situation is like)
- Lily is a glass child. Ben hates himself for that. Maybe he even suggested he go and live elsewhere so Lily could get more attention? Or didnt put up a fight when his parents moved him to his Uncle and Aunts despite how much he wanted to stay with them and how much he was struggling? Ben doesnt think hes the best elder brother in the world despite what Lily says, but he sure as hell is trying to be.
- Ben still smells the smoke. He feels the punches, the way the knife slit against his throat. He feels the adrenaline and he feels the anger. He hears the sound of the seatbelt unclicking, the feeling of Taylors body in his arms lurching towards her other half, and he hears the crack of the ceiling and sees the blood mangled curls. Hes convinced he always will.
