an update about Pantheon SMP! Owen mentioned on stream today that Ren had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity come up that would clash with Pantheon, so he's no longer able to participate in the series. this means the full Pantheon SMP cast will be down to 12. Ren will be missed, but Owen said they may work him in as a cameo if they can make it work.

If you work in health care - and especially if you're a nurse, a doctor, or a therapist - you often straight up have the power to ruin a LOT of people's lives, especially disabled people's lives

So you don't get to be bitchy about it when patients need some time before they're willing to trust you

If you work in health care and/or mental health, and you are unwilling to recognize the massive the amount of power you have over your patients, then your patients are right to not trust you, because you have rendered yourself unable to actually protect them

Or you could add yourself to someone's list of major medical traumas and potentially ruin their ability to access adequate treatment for years by putting wildly incorrect diagnoses on their paperwork. You could do that too. You'd be in extremely plentiful company

Ik we all cried during the scene where Rocky told Grace that he was brave, and promised to give him some of his astrophage. I SOBBED during my first watch of that scene, and not just because it meant that Grace could go home (even if he couldn't).

Grace thought all this time that he was a coward. A loser. That he was going to fumble this, and everything else, and that most of the time, he didn't believe in himself. So when someone actually told him he was brave, he obviously broke down crying. And I felt that so deeply, because since the beginning of the movie, it felt like watching myself going to space on a mission.

Grace's humour, his akwardness, his fear of being a coward and not worth it, all of that hit so close to home. So I can't help but adore his character. He didn't have a love interest, we don't know much about his backstory, he was never portrayed as "the chosen one" . There was nothing as special about him, sure he has a degree in molecular biology, but in the end, he's just a guy. And I love that. I love that Ryland Grace is just a coward being acknowledged, finding a friend, and slowly finding out that he might not be as much of a coward.

dude i don't normally like to dig at peoples fun i generally think people having fun is good but it is slightly disheartening when there's a really really good story about a strong platonic relationship and then the only thing the fans can do is ship the characters or worse make a crack ship with an unrelated character from another media because it's like they can't STAND a lack of romance in media like they absolutely must try to insert romance where it is absolutely not needed or relevant and honestly sours the story/media a lot more for me or they'll Die because they can't just be happy with a really good platonic relationship. it makes me very sad as a demiromantic girlie.
