Silly? It was more admirable than anything. It wasn’t that Tsubasa hadn’t been practicing, but she had let it become more of a background thing with the end of the Love Live. Honoka’s dedication never ceased to amaze her sometimes, only the faintest flush of her cheeks betraying her.

“I see… It’s always good to keep in practice, I don’t think it’s silly at all.” Brushing off her brief embarrassment with a smile, she gets back to her feet, making one final effort to make sure her clothes hadn’t been dirtied.

“Our meeting aside, how have been? It feels like it’s been a little too long since the last time we spoke…”

     How has she been? The more Honoka considers it, the more clear it becomes that she doesn’t have much of merit to offer. Sure, there was still her everyday adventures with her friends and their general silly antics but to a girl like Tsubasa, would any of that even be worth mentioning? Even now, there’s a lingering sense of admiration for her ‘rival’ and something about that might even be a bit intimidating.

     Maybe not even so much out of worry that she’d be laughed at or dismissed.... moreso, Honoka wished that she had something impressive to present to the person she had been racing alongside for so long. No matter how much she wracks her brain, however, nothing comes to mind.

     “A-Ah.... um.... honestly, stuff’s been pretty quiet these days.” She admits with a small rub at the back of her head. “Since school’s out, I’m mostly just helping my mom out around the sweets shop. Heheh... that’s not too interesting though, huh?”

      “W-What are you saying?! R-Really… I-I don’t get you!” Maki’s face was bright red, blushing from ear to ear. She couldn’t let Honoka see her face, she buried her face in her hands. Her heart was racing again, she could feel it beating in her ears! She felt like everything was going to burst at this rate! 

       “M-Mou! Fine! I’ll do something so that I forgive you… S-So close your eyes!” Maki shouted loudly. She waited until Honoka’s eyes were closed for her to turn around. Her face still red as she stared at the other girl. She wasn’t even sure what to do… But staring at her lips… Maki felt a moment of weakness. Honoka was sweet and she loved her for a while now… She hated this… This feeling she couldn’t express properly.

       “S-Stupid…” Maki whispered before pressing her lips on her cheek. “I-I hated what you were saying because I… like you, stupid. You were making it sound like… you hated that. Like it was an awful thing.”

     Her face is burning, positively on fire and at this rate she wouldn’t be too surprised if her heart just... burst out of her chest. It’s all she can hear after all---- the embarrassingly loud thump, thump, thump that pounds in her ears. The situation was unmistakably blunt, even Honoka of all people can’t deny what just happened, but with it came a sense of.... 

     What? Confusion? Shock? Bewilderment? Maki Nishikino just kissed her. On the cheek, sure, but more importantly, on purpose. With all the thoughts that had been racing through her head just moments ago, Honoka can’t help but be lost for a reaction. 

     A doofus like me is just annoying her, I’m just causing trouble.... something like this surely contradicted an assumption like that and now she can’t make heads or tails of the situation. Even if Maki’s words seemed straightforward enough, the doubts that fill Honoka’s head seemed oh so intent on twisting them as much as possible.

     Me? No.... not.... not me.

     She wouldn’t settle for me.

     “M-Maki-chan....” Her voice is quiet, maybe even a bit uneven thanks to her suddenly dry mouth. For someone usually so boisterous and headstrong and confident, she can’t help but sound.... well, incredibly small, and unsure, and maybe a bit hesitant and scared.

     “Y-You mean.... like a friend.... right...?”

Umi was quick to be in front of Honoka so she couldn’t escape. There was no way she would believe such a bad lie like that. Especially since just before calling out for her, she saw her friend sitting out here fast asleep, probably from eating so much. If she didn’t watch it, she might have to go on another diet.

      “Don’t think you’re getting away that easily, Honoka. I saw you sleeping out here, so now you’re going to come back with me and finish your student coucil work so we can all go home.” Not to mention that Kotori was sick too, so Umi had been up there all alone for the most part.

      “And don’t bother trying to make up any other excuses. I really can’t keep doing all this work without you.”

     So much for that plan. Honoka should have known that there was no chances of escaping from Umi at this point---- once the girl has her sights set on you, she’s about as persistent as an angry bear after all. That aside, some part of her did concede that she really shouldn’t be slacking off too much.  That.... still didn’t make the prospect any less enticing.

     “E-Eheheh.... sorry Umi-chan.” She concedes with a small bow of her head. “I guess it’s not fair for me to leave it all to you, huh?”

      Especially when it was her job to begin with.

      “Let’s get going though! The sooner we start, the sooner we finish. Er, but what were we supposed to do today anyways? Something about the forms? Or the.... permissions slips.... uh....wait... I think that’s next week...”

sorry for the extended absence !! i intended on being back sooner but i spent a couple of days w/ my datefriend and that threw me off schedule but i’m here and i’m ready to reply to stuff

Another periodic check in---- I’m not dead, blog isn’t hiatused, etc etc etc. Once the Rin event wraps up I should be able to come back and do replies. Between being pretty busy and trying to tier, my hands are pretty tied. Sorry !!
