63601 is the only one of the four surviving 8Ks to be preserved in Britain, the others being preserved in Australia. She had a long career with three railway companies and saw service in both World Wars. Following retirement she fell into a state of neglect, until a campaign by the Mainline Steam Trust and Steam Railway Magazine, generated over £80,000 for restoration, which was completed in 2000. She is currently on a permanent loan. Her boiler ticket was due to expire in 2009, but it was extended so she will remain in service until her centenary in 2012.

PRR M1 class 4-8-2 Mountain type. This one has the passenger pilot so would usually be seen with long heavy passenger trains. They were however dual service locomotives.

PRR 1361 on one of her last trips out of York, PA before teardown for never ending overhaul. 1361 hasnt seen service in over 20 yrs now. How great it would be for them to finish the rebuild.
PRR E6s. Pennsy’s fastest & most powerful locomotive. No engine ever recorded such great performances as the E6. Top riding quality @ speed (well over 100mph) easy firing, easy to make steam under load, good on coal and water, easy to run, quick sure footed start ups (take offs), and surprisingly could pull VERY HEAVY trains. Not bad for a Atlantic 4-4-2! Yes, it was a better runner than the K4s pacific.
