I hate Barkovitch so much I outlined an entire work where I make him and Stebbins go to war and fall in lust because they’re the only ones who can somewhat tolerate the other during boot camp, and even then it’s mostly hatefucking and getting all that good ole American man brand of repressed sadness, confusion, and shame out by converting it into anger and beating the shit outve each other all the time. Then I had Stebbins bleed out in battle, with his final words being one of disgust towards ever meeting Barkovitch: asserting that their fathers were right and he’ll die sick and burn sick. Idk then I had him shoot himself some five to ten years postwar. I honestly don’t think he’d last that long, but who knows. Maybe his horrible redneck family finally decides to give a damn about their closeted mental son now that he’s finally a real man. I wasn’t going to use any warnings either lmao but I noticed I have a lot Barkovitch enjoyers mutuals that don’t stan him and at the very least understand why ppl don’t like him. so I feel less vicious

Stebbins, specifically book!Stebbins, being a rabbit is so funny because it’s like. No wonder your father, notorious headhunter, doesn’t want you. You’re no catch, he could hardly remark about you past a disappointed sigh and shrug, let alone keep and mount you on his wall. Does wonders with motivating the dogs though, he’d best keep you as a treat for when they’re especially good.

When writing hybrid AUs, it’s understandable to make the Major part rabbit but I think he’s just making fucked up interspecies rabbits as a wolf or something. A little cliche but gets my point across; those species are deffo not supposed to be breeding and so you get a lot of rabbits with exceptional endurance and muscle mass despite their rabbit linage. I imagine he has measures in place for when they inherit too much predator on the outside- they’re supposed to spur the competition after all, making them too assuming would only dishearten them.

Blame my re read for this, but I'm once again thinking about that one scene in the book where Ray gets a charley horse in his leg, and falls behind/ sees everyone walk past him.

And about how Stebbins, who literally mutters a " good luck" to him as he passes him by.

It's literally such a brief moment, but I can't help rotating it in my mind for a bit whenever I happen to cone across it ^^'

Because. We are talking about the same guy, who has this habbit of basically just. Walking pass scenes like this, without showing much of a reaction/ without even looking up from the street.

And yet, in this instance not only makes an effort to notice/ pay attention to what's going on, there but also to do t h a t?
