Indanthrone
Originally named Indanthrene by its creator Rene Bohn in 1901, this is a synthetic blue pigment that’s often favored by watercolorists for painting the night sky.
For Indanthrone and its corresponding repeating pattern I drew night-blooming plants such as Phlox, Jasmine, Queen of the Night, and many others. The skull is that of a female black bear.
