How do you tell someone?
Ive been working a job part time for about 8 months now and there’s a specific manager here who…i should have called HR on for sexual harassment.
It started with light flirting (which i think is fun and have never had a problem with) while making it very clear I’m currently in a monogamous relationship. After a month or so, he started “rubbing my shoulders” by pinching them firmly enough to make me drop down into a fetal position, to grabbing my belly, then grazing my butt with his hand as he passed by, to the occasional boob grope and eventually some “playful” choking. After a few “No"s and light hit in retaliation, he’d lightly chuckle and release me…
I know i should have said something sooner, but i just put in my two weeks there and im not afraid of being fired for speaking up now. Im not sure if any other females have experienced him like that at this establishment, so i wasn’t sure if it was safe to tell a peer. I was afraid he wouldnt make it into something with malicious intent if i threatened him with HR so i kept finding reasons not to reach out. He just had his second child…i dont want his family to be in jeopardy because he lost his job…because of me.
Am i worth that much? Is it worth saying something now that im leaving? What if no one believes me, or they cover up for him? Im lost and confused.
