Summary : you and Liam got married controversially young and had a kid not long after. Wanting to stay away from the judgement of the public, you kept your relationship and daughter mostly private so fans go wild when Liam willingly posts both you and your child.

You had never hidden your relationship with Liam but you also hadn't ever felt the need to showcase it.

You first met him when he had just signed with Formula two in 2021 when you were just eighteen. You were working as a volunteer at the Monza Grand Prix, trying to gain some last minute work experience before you moved to America for university.

You were assigned to be his manager for the weekend, telling him where he needed to be and when he needed to be there.

Neither of you'd had any real intention to start something but after spending almost seventy-two hours together and learning just how much you had in common, you couldn't help but ask for his number.

A small part of you knew it was wrong but you didn't want to risk losing something potentially amazing all for a fear of being people thinking that your intentions were to seduce a driver from the start.

When he said yes, it felt like your life had changed.

Because suddenly, you went from being someone who made fun of romance and swore you'd stay single for the rest of your life to spite those who claimed that love was the greatest feeling in the world to someone who received flowers weekly 'just because' and someone who went on cute dates and couldn't bring herself to hang up the phone every night because you'd miss him too much.

What you thought would end after a few months of long-distance turned into your greatest accomplishment.

The relationship was hard and there were certainly moments in which you both felt as though it couldn't last much longer but it did. Because despite how little you'd cared about romance in the past, you loved him too much to ever let go.

You returned to America after living in Italy for ten years to attend Harvard to work towards a degree in Art, Film, and Visual Studies in hopes of one day becoming a script writer and film director half as good as your idol, Christopher Nolan.

All while Liam was making his way up in the motorsport world until he landed a seat in F1, driving for Honda until he moved to the Racing Bulls in 2025.

You were incredibly proud of him and made sure you attended every race you could but it was tough. Your career was incredibly demanding and didn't often leave you with enough time to travel alongside him to watch the races in person.

Your relationship was strong and your love for each other was incredibly present.

Especially when the stick showed two lines.

You'd just gotten married a few months before, having two small ceremonies despite only being twenty-one. One held in New Zealand for his family and one in Italy for yours, both only allowing the guests to be for family and very close friends.

The ceremony was kept so quiet in fact that the fans only found out you were married from an interviewer asking why he was suddenly wearing a wedding ring. It hadn't been your intention to keep it hidden but neither of you cared enough about his social presence to make a big post of it.

You were intent on being private with what you shared online. Knowing that one day, should you achieve your film making dreams and be known by the world, you could still have a life in a small town in which you weren't bothered by the press asking about your upcoming films or Liam's racing career.

You wanted your name to be known, not your face. Which is something Liam respected deeply and agreed with in his core.

He gave his everything to racing, he needed a piece of him to remain his, to only be known by his family and not to be shared for the internet to tear apart like they always did. So, he respected your wishes and didn't share much of his private life apart from the odd story on Instagram or your occasional presence in the paddock.

Sitting in your bedroom with three positive pregnancy tests laid out in front of you, you both vowed to keep the identity of your child as anonymous as possible, not wanting the internet to have an opinion of your child before they even knew what the concept of fame was.

You spent the first few months of your pregnancy being pampered by Liam silently, hiding away from the invasive cameras and prying eyes.

Given that you were pregnant, you had decided to take a break from work, opting to focus solely on your unborn child - though you still kept busy by writing scripts and pitching ideas to studios. Eventually, by around the six month mark of sitting in your home office basically doing nothing, you'd had enough.

You felt so lonely and bored.

So, you did what any hormonal person who wasn't thinking straight would do; You went to the paddock. You greeted your friends and the drivers, you practically turned into Arvid's mum, offering advice that probably wasn't needed yet he appreciated anyway, and you pretended like the online chaos wasn't happening.

You didn't go to another race after that but it wasn't because you were scared or hiding, it was simply because you were too tired.

Having a giant bowling ball attached to you at all times was draining and you certainly hadn't wanted to deal with the screaming fans, know-it-all reporters, and loud cars. So you didn't.

For the next year, you devoted your life to writing scripts, helping direct local shows and movies and most important of all, raising your daughter. Thankfully, she'd been born in December which meant that for the first two months, Liam was by your side completely, helping you settle into your new role as a parent.

However, eventually, he had to return to his demanding job, leaving you at home to take care of the late-night screaming and early morning tantrums. He did his best to return home as often as he could but you were still mostly on your own.

You didn't mind, though. It gave you more time to bond with your daughter and to enjoy life before the media inevitably found out.

Which, to your appreciation, was your own doing.

You weren't supposed to announce her existence that early but after seeing how depressed Liam had become after being demoted from Red Bull back to the Racing Bulls, you wanted to give him his favourite person in the world a chance to celebrate him in the paddock.

You arrived at the 2025 Silverstone GP with a knowing smile, a sore back, and an overexcited toddler who was just learning how to say words. Her favourites being 'dada' and 'vroom vroom'.

She especially loved when you showed her clips of Liam's driving and said 'dada goes vroom vroom.'

You carefully made your way through the paddock and towards the VCARB hospitality suite, checking on your child every few seconds to ensure that she was okay and that her noise-cancelling headphones remained over her small ears at all times.

It wasn't until she was asleep on your chest and the race had ended that Liam finally noticed your presence.

He hadn't had the best race, DNFing in the first lap, but as soon as he saw you and your child, his face lit up.

He practically sprinted to you despite the ache in his body from his crash.

As soon as you noticed his body coming towards you, you gently shook the toddler awake, knowing she'd want to see her dad as soon as possible.

"Dada!" She screamed, running into his arms before you could stop her. Liam didn't mind though.

He simply crouched to her level and embraced her in a tight, love-filled hug, not caring that at least fifty cameras were now directly filming the interaction.

After that day, you'd become more lenient on the idea of her attending races. Though you still made sure it wasn't too often, not wanting to showcase her to the world just yet.

You made sure her face was almost always covered and anytime a camera was pointed your way, you told her to look away or hide her face as best as possible, still not wanting her to be put on the gossip sites just so some 'fan' could get a few followers.

During the time between the 2025 Silverstone Grand Prix and 2026 summer break, you had maybe attended three races, and only one included your daughter.

So it was safe to say that when Liam posted his mid summer break Instagram dump and both you and your daughter were included, fans lost it.

It hadn't always been this toxic.

It started out sweet, with romantic gestures every weekend accompanied by cute dates and 'just because' flowers. It was the kind of love that you watch on tv and pray happens to you, the kind that makes you smile when you think about it.

Though that didn't last for long. Nothing good ever does.

Somewhere along the journey, the 'love' turned from romance to quickies whenever you were in the same city -- which was never long given that he's an F1 driver and you're a popstar who tours the world constantly.

It turned from what everyone wanted to what they avoided.

You assumed that when you were finally together for the Christmas break, things would be fixed. That you'd be able to solve your issues with communication and that the love you held for one another would be enough.

You were wrong.

What started as a two week trip to his home country to experience the hot Australian summer, turned into you packing all of your things and leaving for good.

It was clear to everyone around you that you were both still in love with one another, you just weren't meant to be. And maybe that was okay, maybe that was destined for your relationship with Oscar, maybe it was supposed to end like that.

But Oscar had never been one for believing in fate, nor had he ever been the person to conceal what he was feeling. So when he showed up on your doorstop exactly a month after the 'breakup' you weren't exactly surprised.

You knew that you should've turned him away, you knew that it was a bad idea to open your front door wider. And you knew that it was stupid to let him pick you up and carry you to your bed as he muttered apologies.

You were one-thousand percent smarter than that.

Yet still, the next morning you found yourself curled up in his arms as he refused to let you go.

"What are we doing, Osc?" You questioned, sleepily opening your eyes to look at him. "We're back together." He shrugged like it was normal. Like your friends wouldn't scream at you if they found out. Like it wasn't a bad idea.

"No, we're not." You disagreed, not wanting him to believe that one night in bed together would solve months of silent heartbreak that you'd both endured. "Okay, then we're not together. Either way I want you." He whispered sleepily, not quite understanding your concern.

"Oscar last night was a lapse in judgement, this can't happen again." You sighed, yet still let yourself sink into his touch, letting yourself be comforted by the soft sound of his heart beat once more.

"Mhm, we'll see about that." He laughed, tightening his grip and falling back into a soft sleep.

You really tried to stick to your word, you did. But when your concert led you to the same city as him, you really couldn't help yourself. When you were Oscar's girlfriend, you made it a priority to know his driving schedule like the back of your hand and even though you had already broken up by the time the 2026 season started, you kept to your habit.

Which in hindsight was a terrible idea. Just like it was a terrible idea to message him and just like it was a terrible idea to let him pick you up and put you in his sheets.

Thankfully, your friends hadn't caught on yet, at this point it was still just your little secret.

Because once they found out? You'd never be allowed within a hundred feet of the man.

Maybe there was something sadistic about the way you constantly went back to him. You knew you were being used by him for sex but still, you just couldn't let go. At least this way you knew he was still yours. This way no one else could have him.

"This is the last time, I'm serious." You huffed, watching as he nodded, pretending to believe you.

"You say this every time, and every time you come running back. You're so easy." He laughed, leaning back against the headboard, his bare torso pulling your eyes in no matter how hard you tried to look away.

"Excuse me?" You gasped, clearly offended by his words. "Not in like a bad way! I just mean It's obvious we still love each other, you just don't want to admit it. I'm just waiting for you to face your feelings so we can be happy again." He explained, though his words didn't give you any comfort. Instead, they worsened every thought of self-doubt you'd had.

"I think we're done here." You muttered, quickly getting changed and leaving his hotel room.

Despite having been broken up for three months, you hadn't announced it to the pubic because despite your fame, both of you were very private people. But you needed the speculation to stop, it only fuelled your flame. Instead of making some cringe influencer announcement, you simply unfollowed him everywhere, not wanting to draw any attention but also wanting to set a boundary for yourself.

That boundary didn't last very long, though. Not when you went to a bar with your friends and he just happened to be there, still wearing the necklace that you'd gifted him for your two year anniversary.

After downing one-too-many shots, you found yourself on the dance floor feeling the effects as you and your friends jumped around to one of your songs, something the DJ had decided would be hilarious to play upon noticing your arrival.

Before you knew it, two hands snaked behind your waist pulling you close to him. At first you expected it to be Oscar.

But Oscar never smelt like cheap champagne and his hands certainly didn't feel like that. Still, this was a better option than ending up in his bed again.

You turned around to face the mystery man, who seemed enamoured by the way your hips swayed to the love song you'd written for Oscar when you were seventeen and had just started dating. Not sensing the stiffness in your movements, the man reached for the back of your neck, pulling you in for a kiss which you reciprocated purely because you needed to get your mind away from him.

Within seconds of the man's lips pressing against yours, you felt two familiar hands tugging you back. "Absolutely not. You're mine." He spoke into your ear, his voice dark and his breath smelling of expensive tequila. "You don't own me." You spat back, trying to keep your tone even as his hands sent shivers down your spine.

The man, who seconds ago was obsessed with you, had disappeared to find another girl much younger than him, clearly not caring that you'd been claimed by Oscar.

"I know I don't own you but you're still mine." He quickly span your around to face him and pulled you into a deep kiss that made those butterflies raise in your stomach like they always did around him.

"You're gonna be the death of me." You sighed, knowing that his hold over you was far too strong for you to even think about saying no to him. "I have an idea, follow me." He smiled, pulling you by your arm out of the bar, making both of you abandon the groups you came in with.

"Not like I had much choice." You muttered under your breath, yanking your arm back as soon as you were outside. You raised an eyebrow at him in confusion as he pulled out his wallet and then a single coin.

"Heads you take me back, tails I leave you alone since you claim to despise me so much." He leaned forward, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear before lightly stroking your cheek.

"C'mon, I've loved you since I was fifteen. The least you can do is give us a second chance!"

"More like ninth." You coughed out, rolling your eyes with a smile as he got the coin ready to flip.

Feeling impulsive, you reached your hand to his, covering the coin to prevent him from flipping. "How 'bout, heads we go to yours, tails we go to mine?"

"So you'll take me back?" His eyes lit up. Oscar had never been the party boy much like you'd never been a party girl but since the break up it seemed that he was trying to change who he was in hopes it would draw in your attention. But it didn't matter how nonchalant he pretended to be, you could still see the puppy personality inside of him.

"If you actually change how you treat me then why not. Now, you gonna flip or what, lover boy?" You questioned, feeling impatient as he stared at you in shock. He clearly hadn't expected this outcome.

He flipped the coin but before he had any chance to see what it landed on, he rushed to you, pulling you into another deep kiss. Though this one said everything you'd been pretending wasn't there for months.

"Heads, guess we're going to yours." You whispered in the kiss, briefly looking at the floor to see what the coin had landed on.

You'd met back in 2020 during the pandemic in an Australian supermarket. You were searching the aisles for any sign of your comfort food but you couldn't find it anywhere.

He'd noticed and instantly decided to devote the rest of his day to helping you find what you were looking for. "You're not from here, are you?" He asked with a knowing smile, picking up on the subtleties of your accent through the uncomfortable masks. "I was born here but I moved to England when I was eight." You explained, your eyes still searching every shelf in hope.

"I can tell. So, what made you come back?" 

"I was visiting my family when lockdown struck. Because I was born here, I'm not on the emergent list to return home so it looks like I'll be here for a few months." You sighed, just wanting to see your parents and pets again. You also missed your siblings, not that you'd ever tell them that. 

Sticking true to his word, Oscar spent four hours roaming through different stores with you in search of your food and since that day, you'd been inseparable. You'd practically moved into his small one bedroom apartment with him by the end of your time in Australia to the point where he asked you to actually move in with him.

At first you declined, having not seen your family and friends in over six months but after being back in England for a while and him constantly begging you to move back, you gave in.

You packed your bags, said your goodbyes and returned to his small appointment with a smile, excited for your new chapter.

Obviously you couldn't stay in a one bedroom flat so you both instantly got to house hunting as soon as you arrived and eventually settled on an old, three-bedroomed cottage that was covered in the perfect amount of ivy to remind you of home.

Over the years, your lives practically conjoined. When he got the call that he was officially joining Formula One, he'd asked you to travel to each race by his side so he would have his good luck charm with him everywhere. It was only supposed to be his rookie season, just long enough to get him settled into his seat and then you'd return to every day life. 

But one season turned into two and two into three and before you knew it, you were getting ready to travel alongside him for the fourth year in a row.

Though that didn't quite go to plan. 

You were sitting in your room on call with your brother when Oscar walked in and asked to talk. He'd seen you packing for China and knew that he needed to tell you.

You quickly hung up the phone and moved over so he could sit beside you like always. 

"Uh, you know I love you. Right?" He began, his voice uneven as he took in your confused face.

"Duh." You nodded, eyebrows furrowing in concern. 

"well, I was thinking that maybe this season I travel alone. You can still come to races obviously but whenever we travel together it spreads rumours and I don't want to make Jules uncomfortable." He explained, his eyes refusing to meet yours as you digested his words.

"Oh, uh, yeah, of course!" You nodded. Not because you wanted to but because Oscar was your best friend and if his girlfriend of three months was uncomfortable with the rumours that always spread about you then you needed to distance yourself. 

"You okay?" He questioned, finally letting his eyes meet yours. "Mhm, it actually means I get to go see my family for a bit." You replied, keeping your happy smile on as best as you could. He could see through it though, he always did. 

Still, he didn't say anything, he just pulled you in for a hug and placed a soft kiss to your head before leaving you alone in your room. 

With a sigh, you stood from your bed, walked over to your suitcase and began unpacking, taking deep breaths to prevent the emotions you'd been pushing down for the past three months from surfacing.

You hadn't meant to fall for Oscar Piastri in the same way that you hadn't meant to be born or get stuck in Australia for six months, it'd just happened. Somewhere along the five years of living together, Oscar had become much more than just a roommate, he became the person in which your life revolved around.

You were actually working up the courage to tell him when he came home all smiley saying that he'd met a girl who seemed just as interested as he was. You saw how happy he was anytime Jules was even mentioned so you swallowed down your feelings and pretended everything was fine and that you were just best friends.

Like you hadn't spent the past five years being the only woman in his life. Like he hadn't rushed to you to ensure that you were the first person who knew about F1, like he hadn't blushed every time his family joked about you becoming a future Mrs. Piastri. 

When you met her for the first time, you got an uncomfortable vibe from her, something was off but you didn't know what. The problem was that you couldn't talk to Oscar about it because he would be devastated.

Before you knew it, three months had passed and she was officially a part of his daily life. You didn't understand why, though. Not when she made him cry and constantly worry about if she was going to break up with him every time they had a fight. Not when you were right in front of him the whole time. 

The first race passed slowly. You'd watched his race on TV, or at least you'd wanted to. 

Instead, as soon as the feed connected and the race began, you noticed that your favourite driver hadn't started. You quickly switched to listen to his radio channel and were shocked when you realised that neither he nor his teammate would be competing in that race.

The fans online went insane, claiming that it was your lack of presence that cursed the McLaren and that you needed to be at the next race. 

Of course you knew that it wasn't true and that there was probably an internal issue with the cars but you did find it funny that the Papaya fans were such defenders of you being a good luck charm. 

An hour into the race, you finally called Oscar, thinking he'd be free from media duties by now. What you weren't expecting was to hear Jules' voice when the call connected. 

"Hey, babe, he's really sad right now. Call back later, yeah?" She spoke, her tone sharp as she hung up before you could even get a word in. 

Sitting there appalled, you decided to call Lando instead, offering support to the other McLaren driver. "Hey, leaf." He greeted, using the nickname that the drivers had given you since you reminded them of the luck from a four leaf clover. 

Though you could see him smiling through the camera, you could tell he was devastated. "Hi. How are you doing?" You questioned, your eyes softening at the sadness on his face. 

"Oi, who's that?" you heard a voice ask. "It's your girl!" Lando replied with a cheeky smirk, hating Jules just as much as you did. "Leaf, why didn't you call me first?! I'm offended." He joked, dropping down beside his teammate so he could see you. "I did! Jules said you were busy and hung up." You explained, trying to keep your bitterness to yourself. "Oh." He muttered, his face falling in confusion as to why she would do that. 

When the call finally wrapped up, you said your goodbyes and quickly posted a story on Instagram, showing your support and joking that it was your fault for taking their luck away from them.

Sitting in the silence of your shared cottage was strange. You were almost never home alone, usually accompanied by Oscar's loud yet calm presence. You were used to hearing him practicing on his sim rig through all hours of the night or him creating some disaster in the kitchen that you would pretend to enjoy.

You weren't used to knowing that he was on another continent without you. 

And you didn't like how it felt. 

Deciding you needed some company, you made the short drive to Oscar's childhood home to spend some time with one of his sisters, Hattie, and his mother, Nicole. Upon arriving, Hattie instantly pulled you into a hug and insisted that the two of you make cookies since she'd been craving them all day.

"So, why aren't you with Osc in China?" She questioned, mixing the batter thoroughly as you sat on the counter beside her. "He asked me not to go." You shrugged, leaning over to  taste a bit of batter.

"What?!" She exclaimed, far too loudly for the calm you had been sitting in. "Jules is apparently uncomfortable with the shipping so he asked me not to go with him this season." You explained, stealing a little bit more of the dough before she swatted your hand away.

"No wonder he didn't start, then." Nicole muttered as she walked into the kitchen, her signature warm smile taking over her face. "Nicky!" You gasped, looking at his mother in disbelief. "What? I'm just saying, you've gone to every one of his F1 races for the past three years and now he's telling you not to because some gold digger is insecure!" The unbothered woman continued, walking over to give you a hug.

"I never thought I'd hear you gossip about your own son's girlfriend." You laughed as she pulled away.

"well if he were dating you instead of that cunt, I wouldn't be." She smiled once more, taking over the stirring from Hattie who had been practically dying of laughter since her mother walked in.

Over the course of the next few races, you hardly saw Oscar and when you did he was always accompanied by her. You knew that he wasn't trying to push you away, but whether that was his intention or not, he was succeeding. 

Deciding that you'd had enough of the distance, you asked if you could attend the Monaco Grand Prix since you had many friends there and wanted to see them. To your surprise, he said no. He said he didn't think it was a good idea since the rumours had finally died down.

You were heartbroken but you didn't let it show and instead replied with a simple 'k'. 

Oscar Piastri knew you like the back of his hand. He knew when you were pissed off, happy, and basically any emotion ever. He also knew how to read your mood from your message so he clearly knew you weren't happy after sending that reply yet it seemed he didn't care. 

You asked again the next week about attending the Barcelona GP and again for Austria yet each time you were met with a short reply as to why it was a bad idea. 

You got so used to the disappointment that you didn't even bother to ask about the British Grand Prix despite it being your home race and you already being in the country. You just assumed that he would say no and upset you further. 

You weren't sure when the distance between you two began to grow but you were sure that Jules was behind it since she'd attended every race of the season with a constant smile on her face even when it was clear from the interviews and the way that Oscar was racing, he was exhausted and miserable.

What hurt more than anything was seeing him so miserable while knowing that if you were in her place, he'd never feel like that. You knew that you could treat him so much better but you missed your chance and you would have to live with that forever.

You spent the days leading up to the race with your family, feeling far too sad for yourself to do anything else. 

It was the morning of qualifying for Silverstone when you got an unexpected text from your favourite rookie.

And that's how you found yourself racing to Silverstone and using your year-round paddock pass for the first time that year. walking through the paddock gave you a sense of home that you'd missed more than anything.. Okay, maybe not more, Oscar still came first on that list.

Fans held their phones up in excitement at the first sight of you since Australia but their faces contorted in confusion upon realising that instead of being fully decked out in McLaren apparel like usual, you were wearing a plain outfit with a Red Bull jacket and a VCARB cap. Clothes that you'd never worn to the paddock before, usually opting to be a walking advertisement for Oscar's merch.

You quickly made your way over to the VCARB motorhome with a smile on your face. Once you were inside, you were immediately pulled into a bone-crushing hug from Liam, Arvid, and Ollie who was for some reason no where near his own team. "Bear, chill. Why're you not in HAAS?" You questioned, patting his back as a sign to let you go. 

"Leaf, I've missed you so much!" He spoke, purposely ignoring your question. "We all have, Oscar's miserable without you." Liam chimed in, his hand finding your shoulder in comfort. "I've missed being here." You smiled.

"Again, why are you not in HAAS?" You repeated, curiosity getting the best of you. "He keeps stealing Red Bull and they caught him so now he's taking it from here." Arvid explained, laughing slightly as Ollie's face reddened.

"I leave for a few months and you turn into a thief!" You laughed.

"Whatever." He huffed before looping his arm through yours. "You should walk with me to HAAS, I'm sure everyone wants to see you!" He insisted, practically dragging you out the door until you agreed. 

On the walk, Ollie kept his arm looped through yours, treating you as though he was a child and you his mother. 

You saw many drivers during your walk, all of which hugged you and insisted you start attending races again. Even Max seemed happy to see you.

Just as you approached the HAAS motorhome, someone emerged from the McLaren trailer directly opposite you. Something Ollie hadconveniently forgotten to mention. 

"Leaf?" He questioned, his eyes squinting to see you through the bright, English sun.

"Hey, Osc." You gave a tight lipped smile, getting ready to ignore his existence and walk into the motorhome with Ollie. "What are you doing here?"

Ollie began to speak, to defend you, but you quickly cut him off saying that it was fine and that you'd meet him inside. 

"You don't have to worry, I'm not here to interact with you. You can pretend I don't exist." You crossed your arms, huffing slightly as his eyebrows furrowed. "What? Why would I pretend you don't exist?" 

"Because you have for months? Because since Australia, the lonest conversation we've had is two sentences. I get you wanting to cut the rumours off, I understand that she's uncomfortable with that. But for the past four months I've been living life like you're not my best friend. I spent my birthday with your family and you didn't even bother to send a message. Sorry if I assumed you didn't want me in your life anymore." You scoffed. 

You hadn't wanted to start an argument. Especially not out in the open for everyone to see.

But once you saw his face it was like your restraint melted away. You were mad at him for not being there but you were even madder that as soon as you saw him, you wanted to melt into his arms. 

"Leaf, I'm sorry. I just, she's my girlfriend." He tried to explain but it wasn't good enough. "And I've been your best friend for six years. But apparently that means nothing as soon as you get a single sniff of a relationship even if it's toxic as fuck." You laughed, a dry, bitter laugh. 

It was either laugh or cry and you didn't feel like showing him how much he'd hurt you.

"leaf, please."

"We don't need to argue, but I can't do this anymore." You sighed, feeling the tears pool in your eyes as he looked down at you sadly. 

"But you're my best friend."

"Oscar, I love you so much but I can't keep a friendship if it means I'm being hurt for your girlfriend's insecurities. I'm sorry. When you get back to Australia, I'll be gone." You smiled lightly, knowing that as long as Jules was in his life, you'd be paying the price. 

"I'll break up with her, I don't care. I need you, please don't do this." He rushed out, quickly grabbing your wrist as you tried to turn away from him. "Oscar.." You began, reaching out to stroke away a tear that fell from his eyes. 

"She doesn't matter to me. You do. I don't even care that you don't feel the same as me, I can't live without you. I thought that if I got a girlfriend and distanced myself the feelings would go away and that we'd go back to normal but it didn't work."

"What do you mean feelings?"

"leaf, I have been in love with you since the day I asked you to move in with me. And I'm sorry if that changes your view of me but I can't live this life without you. I need you like I need oxygen." He rushed, trying  so hard to keep you beside him that he hadn't even noticed the smile growing on your face. 

"C'mere, you dummy." You smiled, pulling him by the collar of his McLaren shirt to kiss him. You didn't want to be a homewrecker and you certainly didn't want him to cheat but Jules had been a bitch to everyone in the paddock and not a single person in Oscar's life liked her. Not even the fans. 

So you didn't particularly feel bad about finally kissing him.

"What?" He whispered in confusion as you pulled away. "I love you too." You smiled, rolling your eyes at his oblivion. 

"Really?"

"Dude, it was so obvious!" Ollie chimed in, still leaning against the HAAS motorhome. "You're still there?!" You turned around to look at him, watching as he nodded with a smile. "Had to make sure you finally confessed. Now Kimi owes me £20!" 

"You bet on us?" Oscar's eyes widened. "Mhm. You might wanna go break up with your girlfriend now because qualifying starts in forty minutes and from the look on her face, it's gonna be a long conversation." He cringed, pointing behind you where Jules was standing, red faced in the way that steam would be coming out of her ears if she were an animated character. 

"You go deal with that." You shot Oscar a smile before climbing up the stairs to join Ollie.

Walking into the HAAS motorhome, Ollie continuously nudged your shoulder with a teasing grin on his face. "Oliver, stop it." You deadpanned, feeling like if he touched you one more time then HAAS would need to find another driver because Ollie would be in the hospital. 

"I'm just happy you finally confessed." He muttered, holding his hands up in defence. 

"Alright, I'm gonna go get ready. I'll see you later!" He smiled, leaving you in the middle of the motorhome to go get changed into his driving suit.

Slowly, you made your way into the McLaren space with a small smile, waving to all of the engineers that recognised you. 

By the time you reached Oscar, you could see the tear marks on his face. "What's wrong?" You questioned, instantly reaching up to wipe away the tears. "I'm just glad I finally have you." He smiled and pulled you into a loving kiss that was interrupted by his boss calling him for the start of Qualifying. 

"I'll see you after, right?"

"Always." You nodded and for the first time in a long time, you felt as though you'd finally be okay.

Summary: You and Charles have been hiding your relationship for over ten years and he accidentally lets it slip during an interview

It wasn't ever intentional to keep your relationship private, not really.

It all started in 2015 when you were just seventeen years old, working part-time in a small bakery to save up for university. He had just walked in, a polished smile on his face and a young girl tugging on his arm, pointing at all of the different pastries with a level of excitement that only a seven-year-old could achieve.

You slipped on your customer service smile, and greeted the pair in broken English, assuming that they were tourists. It wasn't until the boy spoke that your eyes lit up.

Giving that your store was on a very tourist central street, you didn't often get to talk to people in your native language so when he ordered in perfect French, your excitement was palpable.

You took his order and thew in a a small extra pastry for free, wanting to give the girl a small treat. "Merci." He smiled, picking up the bag of food and passing it to the child before lifting his card to the machine.

"I hope this isn't too forward, but may I ask for your number?" He questioned in French, his accent sending butterflies to your stomach. With a blush making its way up your face and a grin that could light up a room, you nodded, writing your digits onto a napkin and passing it over.

You hadn't expected him to ever actually call, assuming that he had simply asked you for an ego boost like most teenage boys did.

But, to your surprise, by the time you finally arrived home and checked your phone for the first time in hours, you had two messages from an unknown number.

UNKNOWN hello, it's Charles, we met earlier today in the bakery. You gave me your number so I'm hoping that means I can take you out sometime?

After that, Charles became a constant in your life. He took you on a few dates before he officially asked you to be his girlfriend and after that he became a level ten clinger.

You were working at the bakery? He was waiting in the back for a hug every time you passed him. You were in school? He would wait outside, ready to pick you up and listen to you rant about that day in his fancy sports car in which he had purchased with money from being a Formula Three driver.

You hadn't made your relationship public to his fans but you hadn't exactly hidden it either. He got questions about you in every interview but he always directed the questions back to racing, wanting to keep the love you shared private.

Over the years, your relationship blossomed from that of teenage love to completely intertwining your lives.

He asked you to move in with him in 2018 when he got the call to join Formula One. He was planning on waiting a little bit longer since you were only half way through your degree but given that he wasn't in the country for most of the year, he felt as though it was a necessary step to ensure you had as much time together as possible.

Of course you'd said yes before he'd even finished his sentence, ready to get away from your shitty dorm room and into your own space. You spent weeks fully moving into his small apartment in Monte Carlo and after much effort, it finally felt like your home.

Still, when asked, he always diverted questions away from your relationship, not wanting the pressure he held from being a driver for Sauber to fall onto your shoulders. It didn't matter that you attended most of his races, having quit your bakery job and taken your education online, the internet still hadn't had any confirmation that you were dating.

After graduating in 2019 with a degree in forensic science, you found a job in a science lab just outside of Monaco, in which you worked alongside some of the smartest people in France, helping detectives find serial killers and even connect dots in cases over ten years old.

2021 was when your relationship with Charles changed completely. After six years of dating, he took you on a long hike up a mountain in Greece and led you to a beautiful lookout. Then, just as the sun was about to reach the perfect purple sunset, he dropped down to one knee and delivered the most beautiful speech that allowed tears to pour down your face.

Upon asking the question, he finally looked into your eyes, the fear growing as the seconds passed. You eventually nodded and passed him your left hand watching through teary eyes as he placed the ring on your finger with a smile.

"I thought you were never going to get the hint." You whispered into his ear after he stood and pulled you into a tight embrace. "Oh shush." He replied with a small laugh, knowing that for the past year that you'd been dropping hints left and right.

After that day, the two of you grew closer than you'd ever thought possible . Planning your wedding had been stressful to say the least, you'd both wanted to have a small and intimate wedding, trying your absolute best to keep the news from going public.

However with a small wedding, came deciding who could attend. Charles wanted to invite some of his Formula One friends, like Max and George and of course Carlos, but he hadn't wanted to leave anyone questioning his friendship if they didn't attend. You however had denied having all nineteen other drivers at your wedding, having not even met some of them.

Eventually, he had decided on a select few and had simply not told the others about the wedding, not wanting to cause unnecessary drama.

The wedding was beautiful, you were both surrounded by family and friends, and a small puppy in which you'd adopted the month before and named Leo. You wore your dream dress and started the rest of your lives by driving into the sunset in a gorgeous Ferrari that Charles had specifically rented for your wedding.

The next few years passed in quiet mornings, hectic weekends, and a simplicity you never thought you'd have with dating a race driver. You weren't able to travel with Charles as much given your incredibly hectic schedule but when you were, you cherished every moment.

Even if it did mean supporting Charles from the garage as his 'best friend' and only receiving a hug whenever he was on the podium instead of the kiss you both yearned for. Though it was always made up for later that evening.

"Please come to the race? I'm sure our little nugget wants to see her papa race!" Charles had begged, his hand resting on your large stomach.

After discovering that you were pregnant four months ago, he'd told you to not come to any races, feeling scared that the noise and pressure would overwhelm you too much. He also hadn't wanted rumours of you being pregnant with another man to surface, feeling extremely over protective of you and your unborn daughter.

However now, in June at his home race, he was practically begging. He wanted his good luck charm alongside him. "Of course I will." You beamed, excited to finally see your friends for the first time in months, having not travelled with Charles since Australia in March.

Wearing your favourite jeans and an oversized Ferrari shirt that you'd stolen from Charles' closet, you found yourself conversing with Lily Muni He, your best friend in the paddock.

You were also later joined by Alicia in the Ferrari hospitality suite, watching the media interviews.

Noticing that Charles had begun his first interview, you quickly excused yourself and made your way over to a monitor.

"So we've seen your long time best friend-" The interviewer began, a poised smile on her face. "My wife." Charles corrected, not even thinking about what he'd just said until Max, who was waiting for his turn, nudged the French man's shoulder with wide eyes.

"Oh my God." Charles widened his eyes in panic instantly, the words dawning on him as he passed the microphone back to the interviewer and practically sprinted away despite his PR manager calling his name. He found you in record time with an apologetic look on his face. "I am so, so sorry mon ange." He rushed over, pulling you into his arms.

"It is okay, Charles. We have been together for ten years, I do not mind that they know." You assured, trying to calm him down. "But I made a mistake! It should have been your choice as to when we announced our relationship."

"Baby, it's okay. Most people knew anyway, just look at my Instagram comments."

"Still, I am so sorry." He whispered, his head melting into your shoulder as his breathing finally calmed. "Mate, are you okay?" Lewis, his new teammate questioned, looking at Charles in worry.

"He will be fine, just needs a minute." You replied in broken English, smiling to Lewis who had nodded and left you be. "I promise it is okay, love. Just breathe and we will deal with this later." You calmed him down, switching back to French with ease. "I love you so much." He spoke, finally removing himself from your shoulder so he could pull you in for a sweet kiss that definitely wasn't being recorded by media from outside the suite. *wink, wink*

"I love you so much more, Leclerc." You replied after pulling out of the kiss only for him to instantly pull you into another. Not caring about the turmoil that was happening online.

"We really need to stop doing this." Ilia muttered with a sigh, his hand reaching up to tuck a strand of fallen hair behind Athena's ear. "Oh but it's so fun." She replied, her voice dipping into that addictive, dangerous tone like it always did.

"I can't keep showing up late, Roman will actually kill me." He rolled onto his back, the sheet barely covering him as he stared at the ceiling. "I'd say it's worth it for this," she trailed off, leaning over him and pulling him into a delicate kiss.

His hand reached up to the back of her head with an intensity that scared him. When they'd started this relationship all those years ago, he hadn't expected to still find himself waking up in her bed at ungodly hours of the night in an attempt to sneak out of her parents house without getting caught.

They'd known each other almost their whole lives, growing up in the same neighbourhood and going to the same schools. Though they had never really interacted until they started college. They'd had no reason to, Ilia was the nerdy athlete who kept mostly to himself and did backflips at lunch for money, Athena was nothing like that.

She was the theatre kid, the girl who'd break out into song any chance she got, the girl who was constantly surrounded by a crowd of 'friends' who didn't even know her favourite colour. Ilia did, though. He knew everything about her, he always had.

From the moment his five-year-old self laid eyes on her for the first time, he was doomed. Helplessly, undeniably in love. Not that he'd ever shared that with anyone, there wasn't much point. He was the scrawny nerd with no friends and she was the town's 'it' girl.

Until they started college, he'd never had the confidence to approach her. And even then, he wasn't the one who struck conversation.

It was their first week attending George Mason University of Virginia, and she was beyond stressed. At least until she finally saw a familiar face.

Not noticing the blush on his cheeks at her presence, Athena walked up to him proudly, her head held high as she began a conversation with him like they'd been besties their whole lives. Surprisingly, though, what Ilia thought would be a one time talk before she settled in, becoming the popular girl once more became late night texts, getting drunk together at 2 am and ultimately their first hook up.

It had been a complete accident, neither of them sober enough to really think about what they were doing. Yet, that next morning, when she woke up naked in his arms, she couldn't stop the small smile from growing on her face. Ilia was no longer the scrawny kid she once knew from afar, he'd grown into his frame and she couldn't deny his attractiveness.

So, when he finally woke, his grip tightening against her bare torso as he came to his senses, she leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his arm. It was impulsive and he should've stopped her, should've told her he couldn't go down this road with her.

But he didn't have that level of self control, not when it came to Athena and her devilish smile.

And that's how, three years later at 21, they were still rolling around in her sheets. Ilia told himself it was just convenient, that neither of them had time for real relationships given their schedules and that at least this way they were being safe.

But convenient didn't cover the late night drives, the hand-holding through amusement parks or the way she whispered his name in her sleep. It didn't cover the way she took his sister out for girl dates or the way she showed up to his every competition, even if it meant flying across the world. Nor did it cover the fact that she practically spent Christmas with his family.

Pulling out of the kiss, Ilia stared into Athena's dark brown eyes, looking for any sign in which she felt it too, the invisible pull that prevented him from leaving their platonic agreement.

"You're doing it again," she laughed, holding eye contact with a smile, not knowing that her actions were practically undoing him. "How could I not?" He whispered, taking a deep breath before placing one final kiss to her lips and finally getting out of her bed. "You're lame!" She laughed, watching as he walked into her closet to grab some training clothes.

Clothes she'd insisted he keep there for ease.

"Mhm. See you later?" He questioned, pulling a black hoodie over his head, "I thought we were stopping?" She teased, a knowing smile on her face, "you know I'm addicted to you." He muttered with a grin.

"Then, I suppose I'll see you tonight." She laughed.

Arriving home in Virginia after the adventure that was the 2026 Olympics, Ilia melted into Athena's arms instantly.

She had accompanied his mother and sister in picking him up and as soon as Ilia laid his eyes on his girl, he practically ran, pulling her into a bear hug so tight she couldn't breathe. "God I've missed you." He muttered, taking a deep breath as he inhaled the soft honey scent of her shampoo lingering in her hair.

"Me too." She replied, squeezing him just as tight though her tone was clipped, like she didn't fully feel comfortable mirroring his statement.

Later, after they'd eaten with his family and disappeared downstairs to have some alone time cuddled up in his bed, Athena could barely keep her eyes open. Ilia, however, was still running on Italian time which kept him wide awake despite his exhaustion from travelling.

"Do you think we'll ever be more?" He questioned, his tone quiet as he stared at the blank ceiling. Athena, who was slowly dozing off, buried her head in his neck at the sound of his voice, "What do you mean?" She whispered.

"Us. This. It's been three years and we still can't admit it." He sighed, though his efforts were pointless. After receiving no answer, he turned his head to look at her sleeping state. "I wish you were mine." He muttered, placing a gentle kiss to her temple before turning to look at the ceiling once more.

"Y'know I don't think it's normal for fuck buddies to show up at theatre practice with flowers." Daisy teased as she and Athena sat on the edge of the stage in the auditorium, their legs swinging back and fourth as they reviewed their scripts for an upcoming production of Hadestown.

"Oh fuck off, you know he's my friend." Athena rolled her eyes, jokingly hitting her best friend on the head with her folded script. "He's staring at us like a sad puppy." She laughed, looking to where Ilia was sitting in the stands. "He is not."

"He so is." A deep voice cut in making both girls turn around to see their friend, Kyle squatting to be the same height as them. "No he isn't, please just shut up." Thena groaned, letting her head fall into her hands as her friends laughed.

"Oo, loverboy's coming over." Kyle jokingly sang, the expression on his face was pure amusement as she looked at him in annoyance for the millionth time.

"Don't you two have a scene to rehearse?"

"You just wanna be alone with your boyfriend." Daisy laughed but got up anyway, ruffling Kyle's hair before dragging him to stand by his collar and pulling him away.

"Not true!" Athena called after them as Ilia approached her for the first time since he arrived an hour ago. "What's not true?" He furrowed his eyebrows, reaching forward to take hold of her hands. "Nothing you need to worry about, pretty boy." She smiled, flashing her usual charismatic grin.

"So, assuming you didn't come all the way to the stage just to hold my hands, what's up?"

"That's a dangerous assumption, your hands are very nice." He smiled, leaning close to her ear to whisper, "Especially when they're around my d-"

"Shut up." She laughed as a soft blush coated her cheeks. "Not what you said last night." Ilia grinned, leaning away from her once more, their hands still intertwined. "Ilia!" Athena groaned, her head falling forwards to rest against his shoulder.

"Okay, okay, I'll stop!" He raised his hands in defence.

"I came here to wish you luck for the rest of rehearsal but I have to get to the rink, apparently my parents wanted me to coach Liza today but they never told me." He rolled his eyes, placing a kiss to the top of her head which was still buried in his neck.

"If you wait ten minutes I can go with you?" She offered, knowing she'd end up going to his later that night anyway. "You sure?" He furrowed his brows. Usually rehearsals lasted at least three hours and they'd only been there for an hour and a half. "Mhm, They're only running through the songs today and I already know them all."

"I should hope you do with the amount of times you've made me watch it." He laughed. "Just because you can't see the magnificence in it doesn't mean that it's not a cinematic masterpiece."

"You say that about every musical."

"I do not! I would never say that about Cats." Athena scoffed in disbelief, her eyes widening at the accusation that she loved every musical. I mean, sure, she had watched like 98% of musicals ever made and out of that 98% there was only like ten that she didn't like... but still, she didn't like every musical.

"How dare you disrespect the only good musical like that!" Ilia raised his hand to his chest in mock hurt. "You've never even seen Cats so you can't comment on it. And don't start acting like you don't sing along to Heathers every time I watch it." She shook her head , her expression reeking of disappointment.

From afar, standing by the back curtains, Daisy and Kyle stood watching the pair interact whilst sharing a bag of popcorn that they'd stolen from Athena without telling her. "They even argue like an old married couple." Kyle laughed making Daisy nod in agreement.

Starting as a social media admin for a Formula One wasn't the easiest of tasks. Especially when you're forced to leave your home country and travel the world just to rage bait athletes who have almost zero patience.

Though, Scarlett couldn't really complain. She'd been dreaming of making her way up the journalist ranks since she was just a little girl — always telling everyone that one day she'd be the one interviewing her favourite drivers.

"You've got this." She smiled to herself, fixing her hair in the mirror and touching up her lipstick before she left the bathroom and made her way to the official Red Bull conference room. She looked around the table which held the media team she'd met the day prior and two new faces.

"Scarlett, right on time!" Richard, who was standing at the head of the table in front of a large monitor, smiled. In her first week at Red Bull, Richard was the one to help her settle in, always being a helping hand when needed and always knowing exactly when his employee's needed a break. Some would say he's the perfect boss.

"I'm sure you know these fools," He paused, letting out a small laugh as Scarlett moved to sit beside the blonde in the only empty chair at the table, "Butt, just in case you don't, this is Arvid and Liam, our VCARB drivers."

"Nice to meet you." She smiled at the men, her attention quickly darting back to Richard as he began the meeting. By the end, Scarlett felt like she finally understood how the team worked and she finally felt confident enough to start sharing her own ideas. "Scarlett, I can see you thinking, what's going on in that brain of yours?" Richard questioned, looking at his new employee intently.

"I've noticed that in recent years, fans have started enjoying the personal content more. They like when Athletes do trends and show the human side rather than answering the same fifty questions in every interview." She voiced, a small smile on her face as she pretended to be way more confident in herself than she actually was.

"I like it! What trends do you have for us?"

"Uhm, well most of what I've seen is like harmless pranks on the athletes or even just little vlogs of their day. None of it has to be more than two minutes but the fans eat it up every time." She explained, feeling Liam's burning stare as she looked straight ahead. "Okay, make a list and put it on my desk by the end of the day. I want you running point on this." He smiled, trusting Scarlett far more than she would ever trust herself.

Approximately seventeen hours later, Scarlett was tasked with recording all of these small challenges and pranks. She was excited to finally get some real work done but she didn't really know the first thing about filming content which is where her younger brother came in. At just fifteen, Simon started his career -- making videos and streaming on twitch for money. Now at twenty-one, he had amassed over eight million subscribers and was doing very well in every aspect.

After receiving many lessons from him about how the algorithm worked and how to successfully edit a video without it looking shit, she finally felt ready.

So, as she stepped into the paddock on Friday for the first practice session, her media pass dangling from her neck, she felt a small burst of pride. The knowledge that she was finally living out her childhood dreams at twenty-three gave her enough drive to fuel two people.

Upon seeing her first victim, she smiled and approached him, her phone sat tightly in her hand, ready to record.

"Don't look at me like that, you're making me nervous." Liam laughed as she approached.

"It's nothing to worry about, I'm just gonna ask you some questions, start the day off easy." She smiled, trying to reassure him while not giving away the fact that she had a secret twist. She was going to tell him that everything he said was correct, regardless of whether it actually was or not.

"Sounds easy enough." He muttered as she started recording.

"How many miles are there from Australia to China?"

"I don't use miles, I use Kilometres!" He exclaimed, looking at her like she was crazy. "Just guess."

"Okay, uh, maybe like six thousand?"

"No way you just got that!" She exclaimed despite knowing that the correct answer was four thousand. "It's not six thousand.. show me!"

"We're recording, I'll show you after, promise!" She smiled trying her hardest to stop herself from bursting out into laughter. "Alright, when was the first Formula One Australian Grand Prix?"

"Uh, nineteen... seventy?"

"Okay how do you know these things?"

"Seriously? I got that Right?!"

He did not. The answer was 1985.

"Yeah! Okay, last question, who won the 1990 Australian Grand Prix?"

"That one I do know, it was Nelson Piquet, right?"

"Yeah, it was!"

"See, now I don't believe you because you're doing the 'telling them they're right' trend!" He exclaimed, his voice angry though there was no real malice on his face. "Maybe. I'll see you later for your next round of torture." She smiled brightly, walking away from him to find her next victim. Arvid.

when the video finally went live, the comments were going insane. The fans seemed to love the new content style, easing most of Scarlett's worries.

User1 Baha she trolled them so bad User2 did anyone else notice the way that Liam looked at admin? User3 Liam: grouchy and mad he got played. Arvid: little ray of sunshine happy to have another Brit on the team. User4 if my partner doesn't look at me the way Liam looks at admin I don't want them

For the next prank, she decided to involve Arvid. Since they were both born and raised in England, Scarlett thought it would be funny to make Liam answer a bunch of questions about England and eventually lead him to believe that the viral 'tea time alarm' was real.

She'd seen many videos over the past few years claiming that randomly through the day there was a nationwide alarm enforcing all occupants to drink some tea and if they didn't, they'd get fined. Obviously, this was a bunch of bollox but she wanted to see the look on Liam's face when he discovered that he'd been played. Again.

She had the blonde driver sit down in front of an Ocean view to 'distract the audience from his face'. She hadn't meant to say it out loud but the laugh that she received from him made her keep making small jokes like that. She wasn't going to deny his attractiveness but she also wasn't going to do anything about it.

If anything went wrong, she'd be the one who paid. She would be fired in second whilst Liam would simply get a warning and a pat on the back. She just couldn't risk it. So, for now, Scarlett had to admire him from afar whilst also rage baiting the shit out of him.

"Okay, so, I'm going to ask you a bunch of questions about England and then I'm gonna ask Arvid a bunch about New Zealand." She explained, clipping the mic to his shirt and trying her hardest to not get lost in his ocean blue eyes.

"Okay, these are all true or false. First, In the UK, we leave school at sixteen?"

"Oh, true. Then you guys do two years of college, right?"

"Yeah." She nodded. "The UK is a combination of these four countries: England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales?"

"True."

"No. That is incorrect, Ireland isn't in the UK, Northern Ireland is." Scarlett smiled as his face dropped. "Oh come on, that's just a technicality." Liam groaned, looking into her eyes with his usual charming smile. "Are you telling me I don't know where I'm from?!" She pretended to be hurt though it didn't last long when she saw Liam's sudden look of concern.

"Kidding." She muttered, smiling as he replaced his concern with his typical media charm.

"True or False, the north is better than the south?"

"Wh- how am I supposed to know that?! It's subjective!"

"There is a correct answer."

"Fine, uh, True?"

"Correct. Big up the north! Though, maybe don't tell Arv about that?" She smiled weakly, knowing Arvid wouldn't agree with her answer having been born in London.

"Alright, Elizabeth II became Queen in 1953?"

"True?"

"Technically, her coronation was indeed in 1953 but she took over duties as Queen in 1952 after her father passed away." Liam nodded, actually paying attention to what she was saying which was unusual for him. There was just something about Scarlett that pulled him in.

"Final question, you ready?"

"Always." He nodded.

"True or False, England has a nationwide tea alarm and if you don't drink tea within five minutes you get fined?"

"C'mon, that's gotta be false! There's no way that's real." He rolled his eyes, thinking he'd easily won.

"Incorrect, you scored two out of five." She smiled, reaching over to pat his shoulder sympathetically. When she began to move her arm away, he reached out for her wrist, holding it as he stared at her in confusion.

"How?!" He exclaimed. "Well, in 1764, England went through a stage in which people stopped drinking tea. Nobody really knows why but basically, King George III was getting annoyed because tea was one of his biggest money makers and then it went bust. He enforced a law in which if a resident of the UK didn't drink tea at specific times of the day then they'd be fined. Back then it was like the equivalent of what £50 is now which was a lot. Now, they have a strike system, if you miss more than three cups in a year you get fined up to two grand." She tried to keep a straight face as she completely lied to his face.

"I don't believe you!" He shook his head, unclipping his mic and passing it back to her as he stood. "you can believe what you want but I'm not lying." She shrugged, stopping the recording and packing up her things.

Later, when Liam was finally reunited with his younger teammate, he couldn't stop himself from questioning the Brit about the tea alarm, not knowing that Scarlett was secretly recording the whole thing and that she and Arvid had created the backstory together.

"You'll never guess what Scar did, bro." He laughed making Arvid turn to him in confusion. "She made up this whole elaborate story about some tea alarm!"

"What do you mean made up?" Arvid furrowed his brows in mock confusion, acting his heart out. "Mate, the tea alarm is real, it's fucking traumatic, actually." Arvid pushed, making Liam frown in concern. "The fuck you mean it's real?!"

"Yeah, it was like one of the kings from the 1700s, he was pissed about not having enough money and basically made it a law to drink tea. You can get like exception notes but you have to be severely allergic." Arvid shuddered, "Look, I'll show you a video of it!" He sighed, getting his phone out and searching 'tea alarm uk' on Tik Tok knowing that there was hundreds of fake videos about it.

"That's fucking insane, bro. How is that legal?" Liam questioned and instantly, Scarlett knew that they'd sold it. Liam was officially a tea time alarm truther without even knowing it. "I don't know man, but if you get fined and don't pay you go to jail. It's really not funny."

Yet again, the comments went wild.

The next challenge she chose wasn't quite as harmless. She'd seen the videos from last year's Admin calling Liam a 'good boy' and instantly she wanted to continue the trend.

Walking alongside him through the paddock, Scarlett pulled out her phone and began recording.

"Y'know its so hard to say rough twice in a row, it's a real tongue twister." She muttered, holding her phone just casual enough so he didn't know she was filming. "What? How is that hard?" He furrowed his brows, turning to look at her.

"I don't know but it is!" She laughed, looking at him with adoration as he flashed his famous charm-filled grin. My God what is this man doing to me? She thought.

"Rough Rough." He muttered, not yet realising where the conversation was going.

Quickly, she raised her hand to pat his head and muttered, "good boy." With a shit eating grin.

"Oh you fucking cunt-" He began but cut himself off when he realised she was still recording. "What?! You're such a good boy!" She teased him, her smirk growing at the deadpan expression on his face.

"Only if I can be your good boy." He winked, knowing exactly what he was doing before putting his sunglasses on and walking away, leaving a stunned Scarlett in the middle of the paddock, a bright pink creeping up her neck with her phone still recording the empty space which once held Liam.

During the past three weeks, Scarlett had spent as much time as she could by Liam's side. It wasn't even on purpose but she was constantly coming up with new ideas for Red Bull's social media page and Liam was in no position to decline her when she gave her puppy dog eyes.

Then, he started inviting her to eat lunch with him. It wasn't glamourous, it was simply cheap food in Red Bull's busy hospitality suite but it was time spent together.

Scarlett meant it when she said she had no intentions of crossing the professional line but when Liam gave her his sickly sweet smile and practically begged her to go for dinner with him, how could she possibly say no?!

So, that's how they ended up in a small restaurant in Canada eating Italian and laughing their asses off. "I have so many ideas that you're gonna hate." She teased, taking a sip of wine as he winced.

"What?!" He groaned, leaning back against the booth chair he was sat in. They'd chosen the most private table they could find in the very back of the dimly lit restaurant, praying that they wouldn't be seen together. Not yet at least.

"And here I thought you'd be nice to me after I got you dinner." He smiled, flashing his pearly white teeth. "Me and nice in the same sentence? do you even know me at all, Lawson?" She smiled back as the waiter approached with the check. "Let me." Liam shook his head at her attempt of putting her card down.

"Absolutely not. I asked you out so I pay!"

Scarlett pouted so hard that Liam almost went back on his word but he didn't give up that easy. "You can get it next time?" He offered, passing his card to the waiter with a smile. "Next time? someone's confident."

"I had fun, and from the smile on your face, I'm guessing you did too?" Liam questioned, his attention so set on Scarlett that he didn't notice the subtle flash from one of the restaurant windows.

"I did." She agreed, finishing the last of her wine. "I'm gonna be straight forward here. I like you, and I wanna be yours. You can call the shots, babe, I just wanna be yours." He smiled.

"I think I'd like that, Mr. Arctic Monkeys." She muttered, taking note of the fact that he had quoted a very popular song. "So you'll be my girlfriend?"

"So long as I still get to rage bait you as my job, yes." She nodded, his smile growing tenfold as he reached over to take hold of her hand.

THE PROPOSAL | part two

Word count - 2201

The first week of wedding planning was about as hectic as expected.

First, they couldn't decide on a theme, Ilia wanting to focus on summer and Percy wanting to centre the wedding around autumn.

For as long as she could remember, Percy had always envisioned her wedding to be late September. She'd be married in a beautiful castle and the after party would be held in a ball room fit for a queen.

Ilia's vision, however, was entirely different.

Since his whole life revolved around being in an ice-cold winter environment, he wanted his wedding to be glazed by the warm summer sun. He wanted to be married on a beach where the sand flew into everyone's eyes yet no body minded purely because of the gorgeous ocean view behind them.

After countless arguments at three am that resulted in them trying to sleep facing away from one another (which always ended with him turning around and cuddling into her), he finally caved.

He knew that realistically, his dream would be inconvenient. The sand would destroy her dress, she wouldn't be able to wear heels, and nobody would be able to see a thing.

And the heat would most likely be unbearable during an American summer.

So, he, albeit reluctantly, agreed to her vision of a large castle sculpted for royalty so long as there was an ocean view beside it.

During the second week of planning, they were tasked with finding their dream venue.

The first place they looked at was completely out of their budget and missing the ballroom she had dreamed of since she was just a girl.

The second was more money friendly however it didn't have the ocean view.

Eventually, they decided to involve Tatiana, Ilia's mother, in hopes that she could help solve their problems.

And solve them she did.

Less than three weeks into planning, she'd managed to book the perfect venue for early September; A perfect compromise of her autumn and his summer.

Next on the list was the guest list.

while she had wanted an intimate reception, joined only by close family and few friends, he had wanted to invite everyone he's ever said more than five words to.

Percy, at first had been skeptical, knowing that having that much unwanted attention from people she hardly knew would stress her out beyond reasonable.

However, she quickly agreed after seeing Ilia's puppy eyes one too many times.

Thankfully, for her sake, she did manage to convince him that only real friends should attend and not skating judges that attended a competition when he was thirteen.

Then came the horror that was a seating chart.

"I'm telling you, if you sit Dave next to Jess there won't be any cake left before we even get to cutting it! They influence each other in the worst ways." Percy had sighed, knowing that her cousins were terrible at accepting boundaries and often influenced one another negatively.

"Okay but if we split them up then I can't have my skating friends together. I don't want them to be uncomfortable."

"I get that, but they're Olympians, they can handle two hours of conversation with a stranger."

The argument carried on for days until Tatiana finally intervened, taking every name from the seating board and starting from scratch.

Two days and three missed skating practices later, they had a perfect chart and an overly stressed coach.

"Have I ever told you how much I love you?" Percy smiled, leaning her head onto Tatiana's shoulder as she finished up the board.

"Every day since you and ilia started dating." The woman smiled kindly, pressing a soft kiss to the girl's head before telling her to go get ready, they had dress shopping to get to.

For the first time in over a month, Persephone was making a decision without the input of her fiancé which in her eyes was terrifying.

She was petrified of choosing the wrong dress, of picking too early and regretting her decision for the rest of her life.

She spent two hours in the store, trying on different dresses and downing far too many champagne glasses.

Sitting on the sofa watching, was Maria, Darcy, her mother, and Tatiana. All of which had frowned at each dress, knowing that none of them screamed 'Percy.'

By the end or the day, she was exhausted, dressless and slowly realising that whilst planning her wedding, she wouldn't be able to continue working on her second book.

If you were to ask her in all honesty how she felt during those few weeks of planning she would've probably told you to "stay single, it's not worth it."

Though that would be a lie.

Everybody knew how deeply she loved him from the way she reached for him without hesitation, or the way that she brought him into every conversation no matter what the original topic was.

It wasn't loud or in your face, it was a quiet love. The kind that exists in soft silence after long days at work when you're exhausted and just want to sit on the couch.

The kind that wasn't screamed from rooftops but instead proved every day during the little things.

Like how he always knew exactly which mood she was in just by hearing her breathe.

Or how she could read his body language like it was her mother tongue.

And that's why even through the hardships and the long winded arguments about why Ilia wanted chocolate cake and Percy wanted strawberry, they worked through it.

For the cake, they settled on a triple tiered combination of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla with small raspberry cupcakes on the side.

Slowly, the planning became less like a chore and more like a reward. Like they'd finally realised they were doing this as a celebration of their love, not an obligation for those around them.

Before they knew it, the wedding day arrived.

September 12th, the perfect day to remember.

Percy woke up in her bedroom alone for the first time in years after Ilia had stayed at his parents house the night before, claiming that superstitions were real and that he 'didn't want to risk it.'

Not long after, she was rushed to the venue by Maria and Darcy who had quickly taken to being the event coordinators, making sure everything was running smoothly so Persephone could enjoy her morning with Tatiana, her mother, and Ilia's sister, Liza.

Thankfully whilst getting ready nothing went wrong and before they even had time for doubts, Liza was walking down the aisle as the flower girl, sprinkling petals along the way.

When it was finally Persephone's turn to walk towards her fiancé, she linked arms with her father and took a deep breath as the softened piano version of 'this is berk' from the How To Train Your Dragon film sounded through the castle.

Ilia, who hadn't a clue that she'd planned this, instantly widened his already watery eyes, looking at his partner with a sense of admiration and love that he'd never felt before.

All his life he'd been told that when you get married, the way you appreciate your partner changes. That you have an indescribable amount of love that you couldn't even fathom until you feel it.

Ilia had thought it was nonsense, that he couldn't possibly love Percy any more than he already did. He was proven wrong as he watched her slowly inch towards him, the music from his favourite movie playing softly on the grand piano in the corner of the room.

He watched as she took in his presence, watched the way her large ball gown of a dress flowed in the early autumn atmosphere. "You look-" He began as she let go of her father and stepped up to the altar but he couldn't quite finish his sentence, not with the way Persephone was looking at him, her eyes filled with love and excitement.

When it came time for the vows, they both insisted that the other go first at the same time, eliciting a roar of laughter from the large crowd. "Rock, paper, scissors?" She whispered.

"Seems very on brand for us." He laughed, "On three. One. Two. Three!"

He picked rock, she picked scissors.

"Cheater." He muttered, knowing that in the nineteen years they'd known one another, she had never lost a game of rock, paper, scissors.

"Percy, you know I'm not the best with words and we agreed to do our real vows in private so I'm going to keep this short." He began, his voice unsteady as tears threatened to spill.

"Today I stand here with every version of myself, the child who dreamed of being understood, the teenager who feared being too much or not enough, and the man who has learned that love is not about perfection, but about choosing each other in all of our unfinishedness. With you, I've learned that home isn't a place, it's a person. And you are my home. My comfort in chaos, my calm in storm, and the reminder that even the darkest nights end with morning. Percy, you are the person I want by my side forever and I vow to make that forever the best life you could've ever wished for. I vow to love and protect you, I vow to show you that I am the man you deserve, and I vow to remind you every day that you are the most important person in my world."

By the time he finished, Percy's eyes were streaming, her once flawless makeup now stained with tear streaks. But she didn't care. Not when Ilia was standing in front of her, holding her hands and promising to love her forever.

"Ilia, I don't even know where to begin. There isn't a single sentence I could say that would ever even amount to a fraction of the love I feel for you." Ilia, smiled softly, reaching forward to wipe a tear from her face.

"Ever since we were toddlers learning to walk, I've known that one day I would be standing here across from you, surrounded by our family and friends promising you my forever. I vow to choose you in seasons of bloom, and in winters of doubt. To be your calm when the world moves too fast, and your fire when things go cold. I vow to listen — not to fix, but to truly hear. To laugh with you when life is kind, and to stand with you when it is not. I promise to love you without needing you to earn it. And to show up, not just when it's easy — but always. This love, this life, we build it together. And with each sunrise, I choose you all over again. It will forever be us, In this life and the next."

The remainder of the night passed in small bursts of happiness.

Their first dance was to Taylor Swift's 'Lover'. At first Ilia had wanted to deny Percy's request, his hatred of the blonde singer being well known. But he knew that she'd envisioned that as her wedding song since the day it came out. Literally.

On the day the album was released, she burst into his room and said "If I ever get married and my husband doesn't dance to this song with me it will be an immediate divorce."

He'd laughed then and called her crazy but out of slight fear of her love for Taylor and knowledge that Persephone wasn't one to ever really jest, he had taken every word seriously.

And thank God he had. The smile on her face as the song played out was enough to keep him going for a hundred lifetimes.

After their dance, they cut the cake -- Which thankfully, Percy's cousins hadn't touched yet — and Persephone might've swiped a small amount of frosting on Ilia's nose with the knowledge that he couldn't do it in risk of ruining her freshly touched up makeup.

Then, It was Maria's time to intervene. She had Darcy request some songs with the DJ (or, more accurately, she threatened him until he played what she wanted) and dragged Percy to the dance floor.

"I think you're gonna like this one." Maria laughed, watching as the bride's face lit up as she recognised the opening notes to a Fall Out Boy song. Not long later, Ilia had somehow managed to get the DJ to play NF and had dragged Amber and Alysa to the dance floor, insisting that they needed to give him the same level of support that Maria was giving to Percy. (In reality he was just salty that neither Darcy nor Maria had bothered to play his favourite songs and dance with him).

After hours of festivities and endless amounts of cake that made Percy feel like her dress was about to pop open, the newly weds were ushered off into their getaway car, a sleek black Porsche that Ilia had purchased as a wedding present for his wife.

That night, they fell asleep holding each other with smiles on their faces, dreaming of the lifetime they were going to spend together.

Isabella wasn't sure when the shift began. Only that it had and she wasn't happy about it.

She and Kimi had been in love for as long as she could remember. When she woke up, he was her first thought and at night, she went to sleep dreaming of him. They'd had the picture perfect relationship; going on cute dates, travelling the world, and being hopelessly in love with one another.

At least that's what it used to be like. As of late, it's been less dates and more 'the team needs me' messages. Less love, more obligation. They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder but in Isabella's opinion, anyone who believed that needed a reality check.

Sitting in a small hotel room somewhere in Ireland on her nineteenth birthday whilst her boyfriend was in the Netherlands celebrating with his friends after an exciting race was not how she envisioned her night to go.

Kimi had texted that morning a small message wishing her a happy birthday and telling her that he loved her but that was all. He hadn't called her like he promised he would, hadn't asked how her day was going, he hadn't posted her on his story like usual. He hadn't even bothered to open her text when she wanted to comfort him after getting P16 in the race.

Instead, he'd posted about being in some club with other drivers, not giving a fuck that his girlfriend was crying alone on her birthday. Not caring that this was Isabella's first birthday without her grandmother, someone who the girl had relied on entirely during her childhood.

It wasn't every day that inspiration struck for Bella, but when it did, she made sure she got to the nearest studio even if it was nearly midnight. So, after crying and eating a pity cake that her best friend had doordashed to the hotel as a present for not being there, Isabella was determined to make something good come out of the day.

Upon arriving, she was greeted by the familiar face that belonged to the owner. He hurried her into his best studio and wished her luck with her recording, knowing she liked to be completely alone whilst making music.

She was there for hours, barely even noticing that the sun had risen and her eye bags had grown exponentially. By the end of her six hour session, she had a completed song written about how much she loved kimi but also how much he was killing her on the inside.

Isabella knew that Andrea wasn't hurting her on purpose, he probably hadn't even realised that she was upset. If he had, she knew that he would have been on the first flight to Ireland to comfort her. But that was the problem, he didn't know.

He didn't realise that every time he sent a message delaying a call or his flight home, he was breaking her a little bit more.

She knew that she needed to talk to him, knew that she needed to express herself if she wanted this to work but she also knew how much pressure he was under being in his rookie Formula One season. So, she swore she'd wait until the end of the season, wait until he finally had a break so they could fix the rift between them.

The rift that she wasn't sure he had even noticed.

"Baby, I'm sorry. But I can't exactly say no to Toto." Kimi sighed, resting his head against his headboard as Isabella looked at him with tears in her eyes.

She just wanted one day of normalcy. Of being with the person who was supposed to love her most in the world and she couldn't even get that.

They'd been together for less than twenty-four hours and he was already leaving. "You promised, Kimi. You swore we would have three days just us." She sighed.

She didn't want to be this bothered. In fact, she was more mad at herself for caring so much than she was at him for leaving. She'd been let down too many times to still care this much, or at least that's what she believed.

"I know, and I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you, I promise." He sighed again, wanting desperately for his girlfriend to understand.

"You always say that but you never do." She muttered, standing as he tried to reach for her.

"Maybe we're too young for this. May-maybe we shouldn't be trying this hard when it's not working." A tear slipped down her cheek as she turned to look out of his window, a sight she'd seen a million times before yet still managed to shock her with its beauty everytime.

"What?" He whispered, his voice cracking as he stood, quickly walking over to her. "I just- we're nineteen. We shouldn't have to fight this hard- I shouldn't have to fight this hard to get a fraction of your love."

"Baby-" he began but was cut off by her taking his hands. "I love you, and I know you love me but you're killing me. You're always out and on the go whilst I sit at home and wait for you to call even though you never do. I don't know how to live without you but I can't- I can't live with you if it means sitting by my phone all day waiting for you to do something you never will." She cried, the tears falling freely now as she stared into his eyes.

Despite knowing that this was for the better, a small piece of her hoped that he'd fight for them. That he'd promise to change and that they could go back to normal, and pretend that none of this ever happened.

"It's tearing me apart that I'm giving you so much of my heart knowing that you can't give as much back. I don't blame you for it, I understand why but it hurts too much to pretend anymore. I tried- I really tried to just wait it out. But we've been together for five years and never once have I felt as unloved as I have in the past six months."

Kimi, who had been staring at her speechless, had tears falling down his own face as he thought of words to use to fight for her.

"I know we can get through this. I'll lessen my work load, I promise. I'll say no to Toto, I don't care what he wants. You come first. There is no future for me if you're not in it, please don't leave me. Don't leave us." He begged, coming to his senses as she began to pull away.

"I- Kimi you only noticed that something was wrong after I broke down. Where was this when I was crying alone on my birthday whilst you were getting drunk with your friends? Or when I started tour again and you didn't come to see me after promising for months that you would?"

Kimi tightened his hold on her wrists. Not enough to hurt, but enough to make her stay, enough to prove that he meant what he was about to say.

"Isabella, you are my everything. I know that I've been a dick and I know that I don't deserve a second chance but I am begging, if not for me, If not for you, for us and the five years we've spent together, don't throw this away. I promise to you that I can change and I will. I swear that you will come first always. I'm sorry that I was blinded by stress and pressure but you've cleared my vision and I will never let it happen again."

"Kimi, I don't know."

"Please, amore. I promise that you will be my priority no matter what." Kimi was sobbing at this point. The fear that she might actually leave him was sinking in and making his heart beat faster than ever before.

The man was a formula one driver, he had adrenaline coursing through his veins twenty-four-seven and yet he had never felt as scared as he did right now, thinking that the love of his life was about to walk away from him forever.

"Okay." She whispered after staring at his face, searching his soul to see whether he was telling the truth or lying from fear of being alone. "Okay, I'll stay."

"Thank you, my love. I promise you that you won't regret it." He instantly, reached his hands to her face and leaned down, pressing a soft, sweet kiss to her lips.

One that shared just how much love he truly held for her even if he didn't always show it.

"I better not." She smiled through the tears, pulling away from him softly. "At least I got a few heartbreak songs out of this." She laughed, letting her head fall to his shoulder as he gasped.

"What?!"

THE PROPOSAL

There wasn't ever really a time in which Percy and Ilia weren't together. They'd just always been a pair.

From being toddlers and having tantrums about leaving one another to teenagers slowly realising that their friendship was far too romantic to be considered platonic, they'd never been apart.

Percy went on his family holidays and Ilia showed up to her little sister's dance recitals like it was normal. Like it wasn't strange for two people to be so close from birth.

But for Percy and Ilia, it was normal. From the moment they'd met in daycare, they'd been inseparable. He'd been there when she had her first period, buying her chocolate and offering support and she'd been there during every competition and practice, making sure to keep him hydrated and to remind him that he's human.

It didn't come as a surprise to anyone when they officially started dating at fifteen. In fact, most had assumed that they were already dating.

It hadn't even been on purpose.

Percy had been panicking about having her first kiss after finding out she was the last in her friend group and Ilia had offered. Like he always did.

He didn't even think twice about it, just simply leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers.

And then, they didn't stop. Every time they said hello or goodbye, it was always accompanied by a kiss or two.

It wasn't until her girl best friend, Maria, told Percy that she thought her and Ilia were already dating that the girl realised her feelings.

The beginning of their relationship wasn't a dramatic shift, it wasn't even that romantic.

They'd just been sitting in his bed, scrolling through her TikTok feed laughing at the occasional edit of him that she always immediately reposted when she asked him if they were dating.

He didn't have a response at first but eventually, after a moment of stunned silence, he leaned over, pulled her into a kiss and whispered, "I don't usually kiss my friends. Do you?"

Ever since that day, the pair had been hopelessly in love.

It wasn't easy and there were certainly moments that they had to fight to make long distance work, with him travelling the world for skating and her attending Harvard in Boston so that when she wrote her psychological thrillers, they would be accurate.

But they always worked it out, no matter the issue, they always found a solution.

So, after turning twenty-one, graduating college, moving in together and travelling with him to Milan for the Olympics, Percy felt jealous when she found out Maria was engaged.

Of course she was beyond happy for her best friend but still, a small part of her felt bitter.

Angry that it wasn't her with the ring on her left hand. Angry that after six years of dating, she was still just a girlfriend when Maria got engaged to her girlfriend two years into the relationship.

To make matters worse, Percy was the maid of honour.

After months of extensive planning and preparation, the wedding was finally set in stone.

June 21st.

In a beautiful overgrown manor that made Percy want to twirl in her dress and pretend to have an old English accent.

The ceremony was perfect, the dress was stunning, the venue magnificent and the vows tear inducing.

Or as Percy claimed, "my eyes are sweating!"

Afterwards, during the first dance, Percy leaned her head on Ilia's shoulder, squeezing his hand slightly with a small sigh.

She hadn't noticed how jumpy he'd been, instead focused on her best friend becoming a wife and the jealousy that came along with it.

"That'll be us one day." She whispered, making Ilia's heart drop.

He thought she knew, thought she'd had an inkling to the surprise he'd been planning alongside the two brides for months.

When the suggestion was first thrown into the air by Maria's wife, Darcy, Ilia had immediately shut it down, not wanting to take away from the couples special day.

However after much insisting from Maria and begging from Darcy, he finally gave in, knowing it would make Percy happier than ever.

As the music faded out, the couple pulled apart and Maria quickly gestured for Percy to approach.

"It's bouquet time!" The event planner announced, wanting to get this over and done with.

"You ready?" Maria questioned, looking over the group of women with a knowing smile. "Always." One chimed in, getting ready to catch the flowers without a clue in the world as to what was about to happen.

Slowly, Maria teasingly turned around, facing away from the group and got ready to throw her bouquet.

Only, she didn't throw it.

Instead, she turned around once more, walked directly over to Percy and handed the flowers over with a wink.

"What? That's not how this wo-" Percy began but was cut off by Darcy gesturing for her to turn around.

When she finally did, she noticed Ilia on one knee, a black velvet box in his hand and a nervous grin on his face.

"Ilia-" she began but once again was cut off. This time it was by her boyfriend shaking his head.

"Persephone, you have been my biggest support since before I could walk. During every milestone I've ever achieved, you've been the one in my corner, ready to celebrate my wins and my losses."

A tear trailed down her cheek as he opened the box, revealing a beautiful silver ring encrusted with minimalistic diamonds.

Her dream ring.

"You're the first person I think about when I wake up and the last person I think about when I go to sleep. You're the person I want to call when anything happens to me and you're the person I want to spend the rest of my life with."

"I choose you despite the inevitable distance, despite the fear and uncertainty that the future holds, I will always choose you. Despite everything. Because you are worth it. Always."

"Which is why I want to marry you and I want you to marry me. моя любовь (My love) you are it for me, you are the person I want by my side forever."

By this point, the tears were flowing freely.

Percy couldn't control her breathing as he continued his speech. Maria, who had also started crying at seeing the proposal, walked forward and placed a calming hand to her shoulder.

"So, Persephone, will you do me the honour of making me the happiest man on earth and marry me?" He asked, watching as her hands rose to her face, wiping away the tears before she began frantically nodding.

"God yes." She agreed, reaching her hand out for him to place the ring on.

She could barely hear the applause as they embraced, feeling herself be swallowed entirely into his arms.

"You took your time, Quad God." She muttered into his suit jacket, a teary laugh falling from his mouth as he leaned back only to immediately pull her into a kiss.

"Can we move on now?" The planner cut in making everyone laugh and Darcy raise her hand to flip the man off.

"God I love you."

"Not near as much as I love you, princess." He smiled, pulling away so she could be celebrated by the newly weds.

"Your boyfriend is so cute!" April laughed as she walked alongside Emiko and Delilah, scrolling through the blonde's newest Instagram post. The trio had been cast in a live action show of the popular book 'The Naturals' and had been in Vancouver for the past four months filming.

"He is." Delilah nodded, a small smile on her face as she thought of her long-term boyfriend. Despite only being nineteen, the pair had been together for nearly five years and they were madly in love.

"So, what are you gonna do for his birthday?" Emi asked, looking at her best friend with curious eyes. The pair had met when they were ten in an open audition and instantly became inseparable.

Emiko had been there for Delilah for as long as she could remember and for that, Delilah was eternally grateful.

"I was thinking of flying back home to England to be with him for a week, I just need to get it cleared with John." Delilah explained as the trio came to a stop outside of April's trailer. "Are you sure he'll let you? You've already taken so much time off to go to his races and Sloane is a main character." April questioned, a smile plastered on her face.

"Well, it's his choice but he said that as long as I'm only gone on the weekends then I can go to as many races as I'd like given that It's Ollie's debut season in F1." Delilah replied, her smile weakening as she thought over the possibility of the director saying no. "Well I'm sure all will go well." Emiko cut in, taking hold of her best friend's hand as April stepped into her trailer. "You two want to come in?" The ginger questioned.

"We have a scene in ten minutes, think we're just gonna go to crafty." Emi replied, not even saying goodbye before she dragged Delilah away. "She so wants your man." She laughed as the duo approached the snack table. "Right?! So I'm not crazy?"

"Dells, my sweet, innocent child, she wants your man. I saw her watching edits of him yesterday, it was really creepy, actually." The Asian girl shuddered, filling her plate with different kinds of chicken, Delilah following closely behind.

"Yeah, I saw that too. Ollie also told me that she keeps trying to message him and it's making him uncomfortable." Dells sighed, not knowing what to do. "Well we can't exactly make drama now, there's still three seasons to film after this and I highly doubt they're going to want to recast the main character. Maybe just try to ignore it until she goes too far, in which case I will happily teach her a lesson." Emiko laughed, taking a bite from her pile of chicken.

"I guess." Delilah sighed, knowing it would be unprofessional of her to make drama.

"How's it going on set?" Delilah questioned through the laggy FaceTime to Emiko. "April is acting so strange and she requested time off, said she's going to Italy next week and she's acting all giggly and secretive about it." Emi muttered, her brows furrowing in confusion at Delilah's expression.

"No shot? Baby, can you come here!" Dells yelled, looking up as Ollie walked into their shared bedroom. "Where's your next race?" She questioned, her eyes filled with hope that she's wrong and that she was getting the dates mixed up. "Italy, next week. Why? Oh, hi Emi!" He smiled, dropping down on the bed beside his girlfriend and pressing a soft kiss to her head. "Hi fartface." She replied, waving at the camera as he leaned his head against Delilah's.

"Because apparently April is going to Italy next week.." Delilah trailed off, watching as Ollie's face twisted in disgust. "No. Please, God, no! You have to come and save me, please?" He pleaded, turning to Delilah in desperation. "I can't. I took this week off so they're gonna want to do my scenes next weekend." She sighed, letting her head fall against his shoulder.

"Emi, please, you have to save me." He turned his attention to the girl on Delilah's phone. "C'mon we've been friends for a decade, when have I ever asked you for anything?"

"I suppose I could tag along. But, we haven't been friends for a decade, I've tolerated you for a decade because my best friend loves you for a reason unknown to me." She corrected with a sigh making the couple sigh in relief, "thank you." Dells smiled softly at her Emiko.

"Anything for you, Dellie." Emi muttered before quickly saying goodbye and hanging up since she had to be on set. "Why did you have to be in a show with an obsessed creep?" Ollie groaned, falling back against the pillows. "Don't blame me, I'm not the casting director." She held her hands up in defence with a laugh before dropping against him.

"You know how much I love you, right?" Ollie questioned, lifting himself up against his elbows as he looked at his girlfriend. "I do." She nodded, smiling up at him as he leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to her lips. The kind that wasn't meant for cameras or others to see but instead to show how much they meant to each other.

"I still love you more, though." She grinned, pulling out of the kiss as he groaned, flopping dramatically against the bed once more. "No you don't." He grabbed the pillow supporting his head and half-heartedly lobbed it at her, watching as she giggled, trying to dodge his attack.
