Working on her royal dress, Now my question to you is, do you know where I can find a good pattern for the classic blue dress? I don't know where to find good patterns so some help or guidance would be apriciated:)

hey! i was just wondering if you could either link me to a pattern for the classic dress in Alice: madness returns, or if you had a tutorial or pattern that i could follow of your own? i am in desperate need of a cosplay but all the ones i'm finding on the internet are uber expensive thank you ! x

I don't :C Best I can advise is just to do a simple puff sleeve princess-line dress with a dirndl type skirt....if you know those words... >_> I'm not so great at this

Hi! I'm trying to put together a Princess Bubblegum costume and I was wondering how you made your tiara? Also where did you find the wig? Thanks c:

I made the tiara using standard craft foam armor procedure - essentially building the thing out of craft foam then dousing the shit out of it with Elmer's glue and supergluing on embellishments. The wig is from Amphigory but it's not fantastic, I'd recommend Arda or elsewhere for a wig.

for the princess bubble gum crown could you use modge pode, then paint it gold and add the embellishments?

I'm sure that would work perfectly.

I just saw your princess bubblegum costume! its awesome! I am not good with a needle nor do I have a sewing machine :( I was wondering if you know of any place that sells the costume? Its for my 7 yr old. They love Adventure Time.

Progress on Y.T.! So far it's reaaally stiff and I may need to add some kind of insert to the waist seam in the back to accommodate for my horrible posture... the collar and shoulder seams are being pulled down unless I stand up absolutely straight, which hurts. But still, doin' it!

Y.T. - Snow Crash

HI, IT'S ME AGAIN. So, I'm balls-deep in working on a semi-new (revived) project - Y.T. from the Neal Stephenson cyberpunk novel Snow Crash - and then I suddenly remembered that I have this blog! 

If you haven't read the book, Y.T. (stands for Yours Truly) is a teenage girl who works as a skateboard courier (Kourier is her official title) for a delivery company far off in the dystopian cyberpunk future where corporations rule everything. She's cheeky and mature for her age and gets caught up in the plot arc when she helps the main character deliver a pizza. Straightforward enough. I like her because she's spunky and kind of a little bitch.

Before I got started on my design, I read the book and took notes on how she's described. Her hairstyle, uniform, accessories, shoes, etc. I also considered the time period in which the book was written (mid-1980's) and what "futuristic" fashion trends were like back then. I came up with a concept that is more than a LITTLE goofy and flashy. I haven't yet colored out a technical flat or polished sketch (boo, me) but here's a little pencil sketch I did for a fan: 

Essentially, the design is an armhole princess-line two-tone jumpsuit with a crotch-length zipper, multiple pockets, and a rounded mandarin collar. I'm using Reflexite as recurring theme, the back of the suit has the Kourier logo in embossed reflexite and I'm using it as piping along the princess lines and various other trimmings.  I'll do my best not to leave you hanging and post some progress pictures as it comes further along, I'm hoping to have it finished by GenCon Indy next month. Sorry for the silence!

Hey followers! I haven't forgotten you.

Just a little warning that it may be QUITE A WHILE before I get to updating again. I've just started art school and that on top of my job = I don't even have time to sleep much. @_@ Just a taaaad bit busy. Hopefully I'll have some more stuff to post around the holidays. 

In the meantime, remember that concept for the Derpy Hooves cosplay I posted ages ago? Well, it's now a real thing!

Feel free to ask me questions still, I always have time to pump out a quick answer!

Hey there. I was wondering if you had a pattern available for your princess bubblegum costume and crown. You have done a magnificent job. And it would be my absolute joy to use your pattern. Even just a guide to how you did it would be a huge help. Thank you very much.

I don't have a pattern available, I *could* make one but it's honestly not really worth it! It's a really simple pattern. I wrote up a little bit on it when I posted the picture, I'm not really sure what other instruction to give! It *may* be possible to find a dress pattern with puff sleeves, an A-line skirt, and peter pan collar, the sleeve cuffs are the only really "designed" aspect. I guess if you have specific questions you can ask me - The crown was a little more complicated, but making the shape was easy - I just measured around my head and added about two inches to account for the wig (which didn't end up being enough since it's tight as shit), and drew out the shapes I wanted. As for actual construction, I put the pieces together using superglue or gorilla glue, coated them in Elmer's glue, then stuck on some scrapbook embellishments from a craft store as decoration and spraypainted the whole thing gold.

Here's a (not very good) picture of my finished Princess Bubblegum! 

This was a pretty easy dress to make - I used an armhole princess line bodice with an A-line single dart skirt, joined at the waist, with a peter pan collar and center back zipper. The sleeves are puff sleeves with basic cuffs shaped using a circle ruler - they're a lot easier than they look, I promise!

Finished my crown for Princess Bubblegum, which I am rather proud of! Made of craft foam coated in elmer's glue. Embellishments were little stick-on scrapbook things found at a craft store. I'll probably be writing up how I made the dress for this costume in a little while, I'm super busy these days.
