The very first batfam fics I ever wrote. A crossover (of sorts) between Gotham by Gaslight and Sherlock Holmes (the book series) just because. Starts with ‘Learning the Science of Deduction’ and goes all the way up to a ww1 au. Remains unfinished.

Summary: Steph finds Cass on the roof having the world's quietest panic attack. She immediately forgets any reason for going up to the roof in the first place in favour of 'help friend not feel like shit', and flops down on the tiles next to her. Cass has her knees drawn up to her chest, palms flat against the slope of the roof, looking out blankly across the gardens. She does not shake, does not cry, does not even falter in her breathing, but there is the slightest tremor to her - almost undetectable - and a dangerous fragility. Looking at her, Steph thinks Cass is like a sandcastle, or maybe one of those human towers in Catalonia, where a single movement would break her apart.
