this might piss some people off but I don’t think some of you actually ever tried to unlearn your hatefulness. you just came out as queer and decided your new targets really truly deserve it this time.
you. you get it.

this will never not be important
The best possible thing you can do for your community is to unlearn shame. EVERY SINGLE TIME -- every single time -- that I had that kind of cringey, secondhand embarrassment, desire-to-censure reaction to someone, it was because I was reacting to something in MYSELF that I was ashamed of. It was my own shame reflexively transforming itself into a weapon of judgment against someone else. It's subtle, it's insidious, and unless you consciously start to recognize the impulse and deconstruct it, you'll keep doing it.
It's not about them. It's about you and your relationship with yourself. If you're pointing fingers, look inwards. You've got a wound in there.
(Also the anon in the first post sounds like a teenager -- teens are often carrying a LOT of shame, which is why they're often so quick to be so loudly judgmental. Be gentle with them. Don't shame them for being ashamed, give them reassurance and space to grow past their shame.)

when you show up to the met gala you should immediately be faced with a panel of fashion experts and art historians before you even get to the red carpet and you have to explain your outfit choice and why it is on theme for that year’s event like you are defending a phd and if you can’t produce a coherent defence they turn you away at the door and the people of manhattan are allowed and encouraged to throw rotten produce at you as you get back into your car in shame
when a moot changes their pfp i feel like a baby whose dad shaved his beard
@lepetitfruit
its probably a normal sign for the economy that all of my adulthood fantasies are like "imagine having your own kitchen living room and bathroom to decorate" "what if i could get on a train" "maybe one day i could purchase a sturdy pair of shoes" "i should save and invest in a single bicycle"
For my birthday this year, I want to see more scientific research done on witchcraft.
As a collective, we can all manifest a big beautiful obituary right???
Won't hurt to try....
airpods are literally such a massive downgrade like remember when headphones cost £2 didn’t need charging didn’t randomly disconnect and didn’t get lost all the time. remember when tech kinda worked for kinda cheap
remember when phones just fucking had headphone jacks
re ehrc guidance. which is not legally binding.
I would like to see this go to an employment law case.. I can absolutely see the argument that in most roles it's kinda like sexual harassment to try to make you talk to customers about their genitals
This is excellent advice. Remember, you don't have to argue, you don't have to fight back, you don't have to refuse. You just have to get everything in writing. Make them actually put down in words the awful shit they are demanding you do.
also get in touch with the Unison/ more specific union if you have one representative at your workplace. Unison people are supposed to help even if you're not a member
