Love Untold
Seven Deadly Sins
Destiny
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
The chamber was dead. Not in the sense of silenceâfor silence can be soothingâbut in the sense that the air had grown heavy, as if the entire kingdom were holding its breath. The herbs hanging from the beams had lost their scent, the potions on the table had taken on a dull color, and the torches burned unevenly, their flames quivering like the hearts of your friends who watched over you.
You lay still, too pale, too quiet. Felix had been kneeling by your bed for hours. His hands, usually warm and steady, were now cold and trembling as they gripped your fingers. He kept checking your pulse, hoping for a sudden pulse. Han paced nervously back and forth across the room, tugging at his hair, muttering under his breath, spells, formulas that had already failed once, but still held the hope that, repeated a thousand times, they would work.
âOnce more,â he whispered, placing his hands on your chest. âOne more time.â The magic flowed out of him violently, like the last breath of a drowning man. Light spread through your body and faded⌠Nothing⌠Felix lowered his head. Tears dripped onto the sheets.âIâm sorryâŚâ He whispered. âIâm sorry I wasnât enough.â
Seungmin stood leaning against a column. His back was straight, his face impassive, but his eyes betrayed the pain that tore him apart. He was the first to utter the words no one wanted to hear.
âWe have to say goodbye to her,â he said quietly. âRespect her choice. What she did⌠she did for us. For the kingdom.âThe words hung in the air like a sentence. Silence fell, heavier than any cry. No one argued with him, for they all felt the same terrifying foreboding. The boys slowly, with heavy hearts, prepared you for your final farewell. Hyunjin couldn't bear to look at your still form. He knelt against the wall, clenching his hands so tightly that blood trickled down his fingers.
âI was supposed to protect her,â he repeated in his mind. âAlways.â He walked over to the bed and touched your cheek. It was icy. âI promised you,â he whispered. âThat you would return to the throne. That you would win. You helped me so many times; you can't leave me now.âÂ
But your body didn't react. When the decision to say goodbye was made, the night was starless. Rain pounded as if the sky itself were crying. The boys left the room one by one to tend to their wounds. And you were left alone.
And then light cut through the darkness. It wasn't an explosion, nor fire. Light crept through the crack in the door. The angels descended without the flutter of wings, without the sound of footsteps. Their presence was absolute. One knelt beside you, touching your forehead.
"Your time has not yet come, dear child. Your destiny is to do good. Rise and finish what you started, save your people. Save the defenseless." A voice that sounded like many voices at once said.
Your heart trembled. Once. Twice. Three times. Your body began to gain color. Your breath came rushing back, as if you'd just emerged from underwater. Your fingers tightened on the fabric. Your eyes flew open.
When the boys returned, they saw you sitting on the bed, disoriented but alive. Hyunjin saw you first. He immediately rushed to you without a word, hugging you so tightly that you hissed in pain.
"I thought I lost you forever," he whispered shakily. "I wouldn't have survived this."
The rest laughed and cried simultaneously. Han fell to his knees. Felix and IN covered their faces with their hands, and Seungmin smiled for the first time in a long time. Chan and Changbin hugged each other in happiness, and Minho stood beside you, trying to hide the tears welling up in his eyes.
"How is this possible? We've tried everything." Han asked, his emotions subsiding slightly.
"I don't really know what happened, but clearly, it wasn't my time." You smiled slightly, sighing with relief.
âIt doesn't matter. It doesn't matter, the important thing is that you're back with us. This time we won't let you go. No one will hurt you,â Chan said firmly, and the rest of the boys nodded.
You were recovering quickly. Too quickly. As if death had ignited something wild, primal within you. You were ready for another fight in a flash. You had one of your friends by your side the entire time. They never left your side. You returned to training much faster than you expected, which, of course, was met with the boys' displeasure, but you had to return, you had to finish what you started. When the day finally arrived to return to the palace, you returned not as a sacrifice but as a sentence, imposed on your uncle.
Your uncle's palace was awash in splendor and filled with the smell of alcohol. The celebrations were endless. Your uncle's allies feasted, rejoicing in their victory, unaware that you were alive. Everyone was too busy drinking and chatting to notice your arrival.
Only after entering the throne room did chaos erupt. When the boys entered first, the guards immediately moved. Minho didn't wait for an invitation. His sword sliced ââthrough the air with the precision of an executioner. The first opponent fell with a slit throat, the second with a broken neck. Minho moved like a shadowâwithout mercy, without hesitation.
Ravon stepped forward. He moved first. There was no grace or finesse in itâhe was like a battering ram. The marble floor shook under the weight of his footsteps as he swung his axe, its blade longer than Minho's head. A dull whistle cut through the air, and Minho barely managed to dodgeâthe blade struck the column behind him, shattering it into hundreds of stone shards.
"Too slow," Ravon growled.
Minho didn't respond. He breathed shallowly, analyzing. He knew he couldn't let this man land a single full blow on himâone such blow would mean death. Ravon attacked again. Once. Twice. Three times. Each blow was meant to crush him, force him back. Minho parried only when necessaryâhe narrowly avoided most blows, feeling the wind tear through his hair and clothes.
But Ravon studied, analyzed, and adapted to the fight. Suddenly, he changed his rhythm. He feigned a heavy swing, then twisted his wrist. The axe caught Minho in the side. Not deeplyâbut enough to cut the skin. Pain exploded. Minho hissed and recoiled, feeling the warmth of blood trickling down his hip.
âYouâre bleeding,â Ravon laughed.
Minho wiped the blade with his sleeve. His eyes hardened.
âYou will be too.â
He lunged forward suddenly, breaking the pattern. Instead of attacking the head or torso, he slashed at the legs. Ravon hadn't expected thisâhe staggered, and Minho took advantage of the moment to leap onto a fallen column and launch himself into the air. Their blades collided face to face. Minho felt his hands go numb from the force of the blow, but he didn't let go. He moved closer, almost touching his opponent.
"It's for her," he whispered.
He plunged his sword into Ravon's armor, right where the metal was weakest. He twisted the blade. Ravon made a strangled soundâsomething between a scream and surprise. His axe slipped from his hand. He fell hard. Minho only pulled back when his body stopped moving. He was breathing heavily, his hands shaking, but he continued fighting.
Jeongin's father stood calmly. Too calmly.
"You still can't look me in the eye," he said, his tone icy. "Just like when you were a child."
Jeongin tightened his grip on the hilt of his sword. His heart pounded in his chest so loudly it drowned out the sounds of the battle around him.
"Back then, I was afraid you'd strike me," he replied. "Now, I'm only afraid of hesitating too long."
His father moved first, with a quick, precise movement. He wasn't brutal like Rovanâhe was surgical. Each blow aimed for a weak spot. Jeongin could barely keep up with the parry. Metal scraped. Sparks flew with each clash of blades.
"You're too emotional," his father said, attacking relentlessly. "That's your fault."
One blow caught Jeongin in the shoulder. The sword slipped from his hand and clattered across the floor. His father raised the weapon.
"It's over."
Jeongin lunged forward, grabbing his father's sword with his bare hands. The blade sliced ââthrough his skin, blood flowing down his fingers, but he didn't let go.
"No," he gasped. "I'm just getting started now."
He headbutted his father's face. His father recoiled in surprise. Jeongin regained his sword and unleashed a series of chaotic, furious blows. Imperfect. Human. His father parried⌠until he hesitated for a split second. That was enough. Jeongin impaled him completely. He stood over him, trembling. He watched him slowly fall to the ground.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, closing his eyes.
Hyunjin plunged into the fray. He moved quickly, almost wildly. His sword was an extension of the emotions he had suppressed since the day she died. Each blow was precise, but it carried something more⌠the fear of losing her again.
"Not this time." He hissed, avoiding the thrust and countering with a move that disarmed his opponent.
Chan didn't move forward at first. He stood half a step behind the others, taking in everything at once: the layout of the guards, the width of the corridor, the places where the floor was slick with blood. His mind worked faster than his body. It always did.
"Shields too high," he muttered to himself. "Leaving the sides."
The first wave of guards rushed forward with a shout. Khan drew his sword the moment the spear flew toward him. He didn't back away. Instead, he moved half a step, allowing the blade to slip just past his shoulder. With one movement, he sliced ââthrough the spear shaft, and with the other, struck his opponent in the knee. The man fell. Khan no longer saw himâhe was further away.
"Felix, left!" he shouted suddenly.
A second later, the sword sliced ââthrough the air, exactly where Felix would have been standing if he hadn't jumped back. Chan blocked another blow with his shield, the echo of the impact shaking his arm. Pain shot through his shoulder.
"Not yet," he hissed through his teeth. Two guards tried to catch him. Chan retreated to a narrow passage, deliberately reducing his room for maneuver. There, their numbers became irrelevant. The first attacked too aggressively. Chan grabbed his wrist, twisted it brutally, and drove his knee into his ribs. He heard a crack. The second swung his swordâChan took the blow on his shield, then slammed his shield into his opponent's face, stunning him enough to end the fight with a single thrust.
Changbin struck like a battering ram. His axe crashed down on the guard's shield, shattering it in half. The second opponent was thrown backward by the shoulder impact. Changbin roared, his voice piercing the din of battle. He had no intention of stopping the fight, no intention of stopping pushing forward.
He did it for you, for himself, and for his family. He wanted his little sister not to have to be afraid the next day.
Felix, Seungmin, and Han fought side by side. Han reacted instinctively. He wore no heavy armor or shield. His strength was magic. He bounced off walls, dodging his opponent's weapons. He struck with short blades crafted from his magic.
"Felix! Now!" he shouted.
Felix raised his hands and threw one of the newly crafted bombs. Two guards screamed, shielding their eyes. A third blindly lunged at Felix. Seungmin stood in front of him without hesitation.
He took the blow on his shield, taking a step back, then made a quick maneuver, hooking his leg around his opponent's ankle and dragging him down. The guard collapsed to the floor with a dull groan.
"You stay," he said coldly, pinning him with his knee.
He didn't kill him. He took his weapon and pushed him aside.
"Not everyone has to die." He threw it at Han.Â
Han glanced at him for a split second.
"But not everyone wants to stop fighting."
They didn't have time to rest. Another group of guards approached from both sides of the corridor.
"Back is mine," Seungmin said. "Front is yours."
The three of them formed up. Han, leaning against the wall, focused his remaining power. The light was no longer blinding; it was warm, spreading in a wave that slowed his opponents' movements, sapping their confidence. Felix moved between them like a shadow. He struck, vanished, overpowered. His movements became controlled againâanger gave way to concentration. Seungmin protected them both. Every blow aimed at Felix hit his shield. Any opponent who tried to approach Han from behind was struck down by him.
"Three steps back!" he shouted suddenly.
They did exactly as he said. The guards stumbled over the bodies of the fallen. The rhythm broke. That was enough.
Uncle didn't know what was happening. Disoriented, he barked orders. He ordered everyone gathered in the throne room to attack without mercy. As he reached for his sword, you entered, shielded by a bright light. The glare behind you was blinding. The entire hall froze. Uncle turned slowly, in disbelief and fear.
Uncle had a sword. Heavy, crafted, bearing the marks of dozens of executions. You held nothing in your hands. The angels had given you something else besides life. PowerâŚwhich was supposed to help you regain your lost peace.
"YouâŚYou're dead!" he screamed, clenching his fist around the sword's hilt.
"No longerâŚI couldn't leave my people."
"You were always weak." He hissed, circling you. "Without your tears, you are nothing."
"Maybe." You replied calmly.
You raised your hand. The air thickened. Your uncle lunged. His sword sliced ââthrough the space exactly where your neck had been. You took a step back, and the blade stopped in midair, immobilized by an invisible force.
âWhatâŚ?â the tyrant growled.
You clenched your fingers. The sword shattered into a million tiny pieces. Your uncle, however, didn't back down. He lunged at you with his bare hands, trying to knock you down. He punched you in the face. Pain flared, blood gushing from his split lip.
âYou are nothing,â he roared.
You fell to your knees and slowly looked up.
âI am a queen who died and returned to save her people.â
A wave of magic exploded from your body. Your uncle was thrown like a rag doll, his back hitting the steps of the throne. He tried to get up, but the earth wrapped around his legs, trapping him.
âI beg you.â He rasped for the first time.
You approached him slowly.
âMy people begged,â you said quietly. âI begged.â
Light rays began to gather above your uncle, forming something like a spear. The same one he'd been pressing into your friends' bellies. The hall glowed with a bright light, and the spear descended, impaling your uncle. Blood poured from his mouth, staining the white marble. As he exhaled his final breath, a smile spread across your lips.
You won. You finally won. The spear of light vanished, and as your uncle's body slumped limply down the stairs, something snapped. It wasn't a soundâmore of a feeling. As if a string stretched to its limits had suddenly been severed. Your magic, which moments before had filled the throne room like stormy air, began to fade. The light faded. The stones stopped shaking. The guards, who had been fighting like mad until then, began to retreat. Some dropped their weapons. Others fell to their knees. Still others fled, as if only now realizing whose side they were on.Â
Minho leaned against the wall, sliding slowly down it. Only now did he feel the painâthrobbing, ripping. He looked down at his hands, still clenched around the hilt of his sword, and realized they were trembling.
âIs it⌠over?â He whispered, more to himself than to anyone.
Jeongin stood still over his father's body. The sword fell from his hand, the sound of metal echoing unnaturally loud in the sudden silence. He wasn't crying. Not yet. He stared blankly ahead, as if his mind couldn't process what he'd just done.
Hyunjin's eyes found you. You were standing by the throne, straight but pale. The blood on your lip had dried. When your eyes met, something in your eyes trembled, and only then did you allow yourself to fall to your knees. Hyunjin was by your side in a second.
âIt's over,â he said quietly, wrapping his arms around you. âIt's finally over.â
Felix and Han were helping the wounded. Changbin and Chan were taking down the last of the rebellious guards. Some of his uncle's soldiers, seeing this, were falling to the ground themselves, surrendering their weapons. Seungmin was maintaining the order that had to be maintained there. The battle didn't end with fanfareâit ended with exhaustion. And silence. Silence after the world had changed its ruler.
The palace had never been so quiet. The corridors, which only a few hours ago had echoed with shouts and the clash of steel, were now filled only with the sound of footsteps and quiet sobs. Servants were cleaning blood from the marble floors, but the traces of war remainedâcracks in the columns, charred tapestries, the smell of smoke.
You sat in the royal chamber, the same one that had once belonged to your parents.
"You should rest," Seungmin said calmly, though weariness lurked in his eyes.
"I'll rest later," you replied. "I need to see them first."
Your people.
The square in front of the palace filled faster than anyone expected. People arrived cautiously, hesitantly, as if afraid to believe. They whispered your name among themselvesâat first softly, then louder and louder.
âItâs herâŚâ
âThey said she was deadâŚâ
âSheâs backâŚâ
As you stepped onto the balcony, a silence fell, so profound that the flutter of banners could be heard. You stood straight, in a simple robe, without a crown, without insignia. Just you.
âI know youâre afraid,â you began, your voice carrying across the square. âI was afraid too. I died⌠because the world my uncle built left no room for hope.â
Someone in the crowd sobbed.
âBut I came back,â you continued. âNot for my uncle, but for you. For my people, whom my father once ruled. My people, who were once happy. Now that this tyrant is gone, you can rejoice again. I know it will be difficult, but I promise you, I will restore this kingdom to its former glory. For you. For my fatherâŚâ
For a moment, no one moved. And then someone knelt. Then another. And another. The square fell to its knees like a wave.
âOur queen!â They shouted.
You closed your eyes, unable to believe what you were seeing. You had your people back, you had yourself back. Peace could finally come.
The dawn of your coronation was unlike any other. The sky was the color of spilled gold, and sunlight streamed into the throne room through the stained glass windows, illuminating the dust floating in the air as if time itself had paused for a moment, eager to witness this moment.
The hall was cleansed of war, but not forgotten. The cracks in the marble were left intact as a sign. As a memory. The kingdom's banners hung on the walls, fresh, clean, still smelling of dye. The people gathered not only in the hall but also in the courtyards, balconies, and streets. Everyone wanted to be a part of this moment.
You stood behind the doors leading to the throne. You weren't wearing a heavy, ornate gown. You had chosen a simple, light robe trimmed with delicate silverâa symbol of a new beginning. Your hair fell freely around your shoulders. No crown. No pomp.
"Ready?" Chan asked quietly.
You looked at him. Then at Hyunjin standing next to you, his hand ready to steady you if your legs gave out.
âI was afraid of death,â you said quietly. âBut this⌠this I fear more.â
Hyunjin smiled slightly.
âIt means youâll be a good queen.â
The door opened. As you entered the throne room, absolute silence fell. There were no whispers. There was no movement. Thousands of eyes fell on you simultaneously, with hope, disbelief, and gratitude.
You walked slowly, deliberately. Every step was a promise. The high priest raised the scepter and crownâthe same one your mother had worn. The gold was cold, heavy with history.
âY/n, from a line of righteous men,â he spoke in a loud voice. âDo you accept the crown not as a reward, but as a burden? Will you protect the weak, listen to the people, and remember those who fell?â
You lifted your head.
âI accept,â you said clearly. âAnd I swear I will never forget that it is not I who am above the kingdom⌠but the kingdom above me.â
The crown rested on your temples. At that moment, the hall erupted with a cry:
âLong live the queen!â
The sound echoed beyond the palace walls, through the streets, squares, and even to the farthest villages. You sat on the throne.
âBefore I issue any laws,â you said. âI want to honor those without whom I wouldnât be here today.â
The guards brought in caskets containing medals of heroismâsilver symbols of courage, sacrifice, and loyalty to the kingdom. You approached your friends who stood by the throne.
âYou defended the kingdom without fear.â You turned to Minho. âAnd you.â to Jeongin. âYou proved that blood doesnât define choices.â She placed the medals on their heads with her own hands. "I declare you court leaders. From this day forward, you will train those who wish to protect this kingdom not out of compulsion, but from the heart."
They both knelt.
"We swear," they said simultaneously.
You walked calmly over to Seungmin, who stood calmly with characteristic composure.
"Knowledge has been destroyed, schools closed, children forgotten," you said. "You will help me fix this."
"I will do more," he replied. "We will build a future that will not repeat the past."
Seungmin became the chief architect of the new education system.
Changbin knelt heavily.
"The people were starving," you said as queen. "That will not happen again."
You entrusted him with rebuilding the crops, granaries, and irrigation systems.
Felix and Han stood next to each other.
"You have healed more than can be counted," you said quietly.
You appointed them the kingdom's chief healers.
Chan knelt almost immediately.
"You will become my advisor," you said. "Because you're not afraid to tell me the truth."
Hyunjin stood beside you, as always.
"And you," you added more quietly. "You are my strength when I need it."
From then on, the nine of you were inseparable.
The kingdom flourished. Music echoed in the streets again. Festivals lasted day and night. People laughed loudly, as if trying to make up for lost years. Thanks to Minho and Jeongion, crime was decreasing. Not out of fear, but out of a sense of community. Everyone had their place. Everyone had a purpose.
Soon, schools opened in every province, and learning became a right, not a privilege. The fields were green again, and the smell of bread returned to the streets. Diseases were also less of a threat, thanks to Felix and Han's amazing skills. And when cases got too severe... they came to you. Now your tears, pure and compassionate, had the power to heal those the world had almost abandoned.
And whenever danger arose, you didn't hide behind walls. You stood shoulder to shoulder with your friends. Ready to fight. Not as a girl who died. But as a queen who had learned to live for others.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
The moment you entered the palace gates, the silence hit you harder than any scream. There were no guards. No torchlight. Not even the echo of footsteps. Only emptiness.
âToo quietâŚâ Felix muttered, his fingers nervously tightening on his weapon. You felt an icy pressure tighten around your heart. This wasnât just a premonition. It was a warning.
âHe already knows weâre here⌠Heâs waiting for us,â you said quietly.
But you didnât stop. You walked faster and faster until the marble corridors echoed your footsteps like a heartbeat. When the massive doors of the throne room opened with a long groan, the world seemed to stop.
Your uncle sat on the throne. Calm. Satisfied. Victorious. He pulled the small figure of the girl â Hyunjinâs sister â towards him. Her eyes were wide with fear, filled with tears, and her trembling hands clutched his sleeve. The blade of the knife gleamed just above her heart.
"It's so nice that you all came. I couldn't wait," he said softly, as if completely unconcerned with what was about to happen.
Hyunjin screamed. It wasn't a normal human screamâit was a cry of despair. He lunged forward without a plan, pushing Minho and Chan as if they were mere shadows. His body moved much faster than his thoughts. His sword slashed wide, brutally, each blow a discharge of fear for his sister. The first guard fell with a shattered jaw, the second was slammed into the column with such force that the stone cracked.
Hyunjin fought like someone who didn't intend to survive. He fought like someone who had already lost everything. Each blow was filled with rage, fear, and love for his sister. The blade whipped through the air, knees slammed into his ribs, and the guards' screams mingled with the echo of steel. He leaped over bodies, twisted, parried three attacks at once. But the guards weren't diminishing at all. They were like a hydra. For every guard killed, two more appeared. The closer he got to the throne, the tighter the circle around him became.
Finally, he was surrounded; a spear struck him in the back, another tripped him. He fell to his knees, the weight of several bodies pinning him to the ground.
"Hyunjin!" Your scream echoed off the walls.
Then the hall exploded with movement. You all charged into battle. The Shadow Guild emerged from the darknessâtheir movements synchronized, cold, and merciless. Ravon stood beside the throne, and when Minho saw him, he felt the ground give way beneath his feet.
âYou⌠youâre deadâŚâ he said in shock.
âYour friendâs tears can work wonders.â Ravon smiled crookedly.
They both immediately launched themselves at each other. They cared nothing about anyone else. Only themselves mattered. This was revenge. Their clash was brutal and personal. Steel clashed with such force that sparks flew onto the marble. Ravon was definitely faster and strongerâas if death had only made him stronger. Each of his blows was a lesson, a punishment, a reminder. He circled Minho slowly, forcing him back. Each of his blows was like a test to test his apprenticeâs skills.
âStill too slow,â he hissed, striking Minho in the ribs.
Minho staggered, but managed to stay on his feet. He responded with a series of quick jabs. One hit Ravon, who only took a half-step back. This brought a grimace of displeasure to Minhoâs face.
âI killed you once.â He hissed. âI'll do it again.â
Their fight was a dance of pain. Minho attacked with fury, Ravon with cold precision. Their fight lasted a long time. Minho's breathing grew heavier, his hands trembling with the effort. When he managed to disarm Ravon for a split second, he moved without hesitation, but it was a trap he hadn't noticed. Finally, Ravonn kicked Minho to his knees and placed the blade at his throat.
âI won this time,â the former master sneered.
A few meters away, Jeongin froze. A man in black armor stepped out from the crowd. A face he knew. A voice he remembered from his childhood.
âJeongin. Join us. It doesn't have to end like this,â Jeongin's father said.
âYou ended it a long time ago, joining that bastard.â He replied, his voice trembling.
Their fight was filled with hesitation. Jeongin backed away, blocking the blows, unable to attack. Each block was too late, each dodge cost him more and more energy. His father had no remorse whatsoever â he struck constantly, mercilessly, trying to break his son both physically and mentally.
âLook at you. You're trembling. Weakness has always been your weakness!â he said, throwing more punches.
âI will never follow in your footstepsâŚTraitor!â Jeongin screamed and finally attacked.
His blade struck his father in the shoulder. Blood dripped onto the floor. He froze. That moment of hesitation was his undoing. His father struck him in the face, then in the knee. Jeongin fell, trying to get up, but the foot pressing against his chest stole his breath.
âYou were always too weak,â he heard.
A tear rolled down his temple. He couldn't get up, as with every movement, the pressure grew stronger, crushing his ribs.
Han, on the other hand, was everywhere. He covered Felix, absorbed blows, and broke up the guard formation. His every move was deliberate, despite the blood dripping down his temple. When three Guild members charged at him simultaneously, he didn't back down. He took the first blow to his forearm, the second to his shoulder, and kicked the third away.
"Go on!" he growled, clenching his fists.
He fought like a wolf, refusing to bow to the enemy's pressure. He landed as many blows as he could, as quickly as possible. He wanted to help others as much as he could. But even he finally began to lose strength, and they surrounded him. Blows from all four sides were increasingly difficult to counter. Yet even once he was on the ground, he continued to fight. He tripped the guards, blocking blows with one hand. Only a spear embedded in the stone next to his neck forced him to stillness. The Guild members pounced on him. Not one, not two, not three, but four people had to hold him down to keep him from breaking free.
On the other side, Changbin roared as his axe came down once again. Armor shattered, shields shattered, bodies flew aside. He was like an impenetrable wall. He stayed close to you as long as he could, clearing a path for you to your uncle. His movements were wild, raw, and filled with hatred. This was a fight he had always wanted to happen. For his family, for his home, for his friends. He had to pay back all the misfortunes that had befallen him.
"Give me more!" he shouted, pulling his axe from the palace wall.
Sweat poured down his body, but he remained unwavering. At one point, he lost count of how many guards he had sent to the underworld.
But strength has its limits.
When he was struck from behind in the head, he staggered. His vision blurred. The second blow struck his stomach. He fell to one knee, panting, but still trying to get up. He wasn't giving up; it wasn't like him.
The blade grazed his throat.
"I wouldn't even try if I were you," one of the guards said, right behind him.
Seungmin, as one of the less experienced in combat, moved differently than the others. He didn't lunge forward. He didn't scream. He didn't lose control. His eyes monitored everything at once, calculating everythingâthe trajectories of the weapons striking him, the arrangement of the columns in the room, the distance between each opponent. All his movements had a purpose.
When the first guard charged at him, Seungmin took a precise half-step back. The sword's blade missed him by two centimeters. At the same moment, Seungmin grabbed his opponent's wrist, spun him around, and thrust him straight into Felix's sword.
The second opponent attacked from the side. Seungmin pulled a small knife from his pocket and threw it at him. However, his goal wasn't to kill him, but to force him to dodge. That was more than enough for him. An elbow strike to his opponent's solar plexus effectively eliminated him.
Seungmin's breathing quickened as he saw you alone, closer and closer to the throne.
"No..." He whispered.
He rushed towards you, ignoring the pain in his leg. He took three steps. The fourth was his last. The blow to the back of his head was sudden and brutal. He fell to his knees, the world spinning. He tried to get up. The second blow slammed him into the floor.
"Get up... You have to get up," he whispered to himself before his eyes were covered.
Felix fought right next to Seungmin. He threw poison darts, causing the guards to fall one by one. Jump. Spin. Another dagger smashed against the shield, forcing his enemy to retreat. His movements were fluid, almost dance-like, but for the first time, his beautiful smile wasn't on his face.
"Just... Just a little more..." He whispered.
The Shadow Guild began to adapt, and they realized that even a small graze from Felix's weapon would be enough to save them. Felix was ill-suited to long battles and quickly began to lose strength. His knees began to tremble. He saw double. Despite this, he stood before Han just as the blade was about to descend upon his back. He took the blow. He hissed in pain, but didn't flinch.
Another parried blow weakened him. He fell to his knees, his breath ragged in his lungs, his hands trembling; he knew he wouldn't be able to stand on his own. And so he did. His frail body was lifted by his uncle's guards.
Han fought like a storm. He didn't stand still. He didn't stop for a second. Knives made with his magic appeared and disappeared in his hands, striking where his opponents least expected. His magic was being tested. Two. Three. Four opponents.
Han breathed heavily, sweat dripping from his temples, his hands began to tremble. Every move cost him more and more. When one of the blades sliced ââthrough his side, he hissed and staggered. But he didn't fall.
"I'm still alive!" he shouted, launching himself into another attack.
Then he saw Felix lying motionless on the ground. Something inside him snapped. He lunged forward without planning, without caution. It was a mistake. A blow from the side knocked the wind out of him, another threw him against a column. He collapsed beside Felix. He tried to get up. He couldn't. They lifted him.
Thanks to the efforts of your friends, you had an easy path to the throne. The guards seemed completely uninterested in you. No one attacked you, no one blocked you. With each step, you drew closer to your uncle's throne. It all seemed too simple, but you didn't have time to think about it now.
A moment later, you stood before your uncle, your sword pressed against his throat. You trembled, but your gaze was firm, certain of what you wanted to do. Your gaze shifted from him to Hyunjin's sister. The little girl was terrified, tears still streaming down her face.
"Let's end this here and now," you said.Your sister just smiled
."Turn around," he said.
You turned around very slowly, having a bad feeling. But the image you saw broke your heart. Your vision was coming true. All your friends were being held by the guards. Some tried to break free, others didn't even have the strength to move. They were injured, and it was all your fault.
âLet's end this here and now. This is between you and me, not them. Let them go,â you said.
Your uncle just smiled. He gestured to the guards, and in an instant, their spears fell. They all had spears pressed to their stomachs. Just like in your vision. You knew something was about to happen.
âSurrender,â your uncle hissed. âOr they die.â
Your heart broke. You had lost. You couldn't continue to fight. You couldn't endanger them. Your hand fell. The metal clattered against the marble floor.
âNo!!!â All your friends shouted at once.
The guards immediately rushed to you, twisting your arms and forcing you to kneel.
âI wanted you to die quickly, but you caused me a lot of trouble, so now you will suffer,â your uncle said, calling out to the guards.
The side door opened with a groan. Two messengers practically ran into the room, carrying a velvet tray. On it rested a ritual book and a golden chalice. That meant one thing. The guards had ransacked your base. Uncle stood slowly.
âFinally.â
When he took them in his hands, you felt something inside you snap.
âNoâŚpleaseâŚâ Your voice broke.
âThanks to you,â he whispered. âI will become eternal.â
With those words, he pointed at Hyunjin. The guards almost immediately pulled him to you. He struggled, but couldn't break free. He couldn't look at your pleading face either. He couldn't bring himself to look you in the eyes.
âPlease don'tâŚPlease leave her!â He did everything he could to get away.
âDie, whore!â Your uncle said.
The knife sliced ââHyunjin's wrist. Blood flowed slowly. The guards forced your mouth open. When the drops touched your tongue, the world exploded with pain. It was like fire in your veins. Like someone had poured hot ashes into your mouth. But the real pain hit you when the blood flowed down your throat.
Your heartbeat sped up, so much so that it hurt. Your breath caught mid-breath, as if your lungs had forgotten how to work. A scream tore from your lips. There were no words in it. Only pure fear remained.
Fire spread through your veins. You felt it beneath your skin, deeper, in your bones. Every nerve sent conflicting signalsâpain, cold, trembling. Your fingers contracted unnaturally, unable to straighten them. You tried to gasp for air. You failed. Each inhale ended in a cough that tore at your throat. Tears flowed freely. on the cheeks, but they brought no relief.
You heard screams all around you. You knew they were your friends, but they sounded like they were coming from another world.
Your magic was constantly reacting to the wounds you felt inside. You felt it like a warm, desperate hand trying to mend the broken pieces. Sealing the wounds, stabilizing your heart, forcing your body to continue functioning. And that was when the pain grew even worse. You couldn't pass out, even though you desperately wanted to.
Every cell in your body screamed, and your consciousness remained sharp, painful, unbearable. Time slowed. Seconds stretched like hours.
"Please... Kill me..." You tried to say, but you didn't know who to say it to.
Your thoughts slowly began to fray. Images overlapped. The ceiling of the throne room, your uncle's face, the terrified eyes of your friends. Then something else entirely: memories of laughter, the faces of your parents, peaceful nights before the tyrant's reign.
The pain pulsed in waves. It came. It grew. It flooded everything. Then it weakened for a moment, only to return with redoubled force. Your body arched on its own, you had no control over it at all. Muscles trembled like strings stretched to their limits.
You didn't know how long your torment had lasted, but you began to fear it would never end. Your heart beats erratically, sometimes too fast, sometimes as if it wanted to stop. Each moment brought a new wave of panic. Were you dying? You wanted to faint. You begged your body to give in. But the magic held you aliveâcruelly, stubbornly. Your scream died in your throat, replaced by a quiet, ragged moan. Your throat was raw, and your voice cracked with every sound.
Your uncle, thinking his plan was going as planned, released the little girl to grab the chalice that would make him immortal. Each of the boys, seeing your suffering, hearing your screams, wanted to tear everyone in the room apart. They struggled as hard as they could. They did everything they could to get to you. You were so close, yet so difficult to reach.
Finally, one by one, they managed to break free from the guards' grasp. Fueled by anger, adrenaline, and hatred, they fought like madmen, tearing through the guards' ranks until they reached you. Hyunjin grabbed his sister. Chan lifted you. Your body was stiff, trembling, and your breathing ragged.
Felix threw one last smoke bomb, and the world collapsed into chaos. By some miracle, you had escaped the castle.
Your consciousness began to crumble. You no longer remembered where you were. You only knew that it hurt. That pain was all you felt. You felt hands lifting you, but the touch felt like another attack. Your skin reacted hypersensitively, every contact burning.
You opened your eyes for a moment. The whole world was blurry, full of shadows. You couldn't recognize faces, only shapes. You didn't know if the guards were carrying you to finish you off, or if your uncle wanted to cause you more pain.
"Kill me... I'm begging you." It was all you could manage. You wanted to finally stop feeling.
When the boys heard that, their hearts broke. They ran even faster than before. They wanted to get to a safe place so they could help you somehow.
As the minutes passed, your pain changed. It wasn't just a searing fire anymore. It became a huge weight, crushing you from the inside. It was as if something was trying to tear itself out of your body, tearing it apart, but it couldn't. Your breathing became shallow. So shallow that you began to choke and spit out blood. Each inhale was a huge challenge, and each exhale the fear that there would be no more. Your thoughts slowed, and you began to lose consciousness. Your body felt increasingly heavy in Chan's arms; you no longer had the strength to fight for survival. You began to fall asleep.Â
"Don't close your eyes...please...keep them open for me, yeah?" Chan's voice was unsteady. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him, but he knew you were dying. He saw heâs losing you, but there was nothing he could do.
You heard a voice. Someone telling you not to close your eyes. You wanted to listen, you really did. But your eyelids were growing heavier, as heavy as stone, and your consciousness was slipping away into a darkness that lookedâŚpeaceful.
Once again, the pain eased slightly. But that was what you feared most, knowing it was only a momentary relief, a precursor to something far worse. The magic began to rip again. Consciousness returned brutally, as if someone had thrown you back into a burning body. A moan returned with it, strangled, quiet, desperate.
You felt your heart slow. You no longer had the strength to move. You no longer had the strength to scream. All that remained was a trembling and a quiet, broken cry.
âWeâre almost at home.â You heard, and this time you recognized the voice; it was Changbin.
You were with your friends. They were alive. They had managed to escape. Suddenly, a thought, surprisingly peaceful, flashed through your mind.Â
âI don't want to die like this. Not here. Not with them. Not like this.âÂ
And then the pain suddenly stopped. You felt nothing but the terrible cold that slowly filled your entire body.
âHomeâŚâ Those were your last words before your head fell limply onto Chan's shoulder.
âNO!!!â Chan knew exactly what had happened, his desperate cry ripped from his throat.
When you reached the shelter, Chan laid you on the bed. No one cared about their wounds; now all that mattered was you. Felix and Han immediately fell to their knees, trying everything they knew. They had to do everything in their power to bring you back to life. They couldn't lose you like that.
The rest of them were crying. Tears streamed down their cheeks, dripping onto the floor. Hyunjin stood still, still holding his sister in his arms.
âIt's my faultâŚâ He whispered, almost inaudibly. âIf I hadn'tâŚâ But he couldn't finish, the words choking in his throat.
Everyone felt helpless. You lay still, your skin drained of all color, and a single stray tear rolled down your cheek.
The silence was definitely worse than your screams.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
The night was heavy and thick with fog when Minho ordered you to set out. Even the paths he usually knew by heart seemed more twisted than usualâas if the forest itself were trying to lose you.
âKeep quiet. Every footstep here can be heardâŚeven by those you canât see,â Minho whispered, leading the way.
You frowned.
âYour famous Shadow Guild, then?âMinho didnât even glance at you.
âNot mine. Not anymore.â
After an hour of walking, you stopped before a dark cliff. The sky above you was empty, as if even the stars avoided this place.Minho stopped and took a deep breath.
âLeave everything to me. And whatever you seeâŚdonât interfere.â
Before anyone could ask, the rock before you split open like a gate. Shadows flowed from withinâsilent silhouettes as smoke. Ravon emerged first. Tall, slender, with eyes as sharp as a blade. His face was partially covered by a black mask, but you immediately sensed this was someone who saw more than others.
âMinho.â His voice was calm, almost polite. âYou come back like a lost puppy. Do you still remember how to breathe here?â
Minho just smiled crookedly.
âI still remember who taught me.â
âAnd yet you left.âA glint appeared in Ravonâs eyes, unpleasant, cold.âAfter all I did for you, you broke your oath. You betrayed the Shadow Guild.â
His words struck you. You felt something well up inside you.
âHe betrayed?â You snorted before you could think. âAnd you were the ones who kidnapped his siblings, right?â
The shadows around you shifted, but no one attacked without the leaderâs permission. It was an unwritten rule of the Guild. Ravon narrowed his eyes.
âSo this is our princess,â he said, his eyes never leaving Minho. âI predicted you would bring her.â
Minho froze. The rest of the group surrounded you, forming a protective barrier between you and the Shadows.
âYou knew?â Minho asked, surprised. His mind was racing with all sorts of thoughts.
Ravon lifted his head.
âIf you want your siblings backâŚyou must prove you are still worthy of your title. Prove that a ruthless killer is still within you.â
In an instant, steel sang. Ravon drew curved blades, black as obsidian. Minho grabbed his as well, and you felt the air between them thicken so much it was hard to breathe.
Minho lunged first. The strikes were like lightningâfast, precise, almost unreal. Ravon blocked them with one blade and attacked from the side with the other, trying to break through Minho's defenses. There was no rush in the master's movements. They wereâŚclean. Perfect. Now you knew who Minho had learned to fight like that from.
Everyone stood in amazement, but you stood tense, ready to pounceâeven though Minho had ordered you not to interfere. You were to simply observe and not react. Just like the Shadows. They watched, but took no action. Not while their leader was fighting.
âHis defenses are too high. Ravon is attacking his left side. If Minho doesnât back downâŚâ New thoughts kept flashing through your mind.
Ravon made a sudden, almost invisible slash at an angle, which Minho barely dodged. The blade sliced ââthrough the air an inch from his face.
âYou still fight with emotion,â Ravon said, lashing out with his second blade. âThat has always been your only flaw. And your students will be your weakness.â
Minho just growled.
âThey are not my students.â
âAnd yet you keep them closeâŚlike family.â Ravon jumped back, a cold smile playing on his lips. âFamily makes you weak, Minho.â
In that instant, the master surged forward. The duel turned into something that felt more like a dance than a fightâso fluid, so fast, and so deadly. You couldnât watch it calmly.
Minho tried to strike sideways, but Ravon anticipated the move. His blade grazed Minho's arm, leaving a bloody trail. You moved instinctively, but Han stopped you, grabbing your wrist.
"You can't. He's been fighting like this since childhood. If you interfere, you'll both die."
Ravon laughed lightly.
"You've always been the most impulsive of the entire Guild." His blade arced again. "But I can give you one last chance."
Minho spat blood onto the ground after a hard blow to the stomach.
"I don't need your mercy."
He attacked with full force. This time the blows were differentâmore severe, more furious. Ravon recoiled for the first time, surprised by the intensity of the attack. He hadn't taught him that. Minho took every opportunity, not giving him a break. Suddenly, Ravon kneed Minho in the side, knocking him down, and placed the blade against his throat.
"The game's over," he said flatly. âYou lost the moment you came here.â
The shadow twitched beside them, but before Ravon could deliver the final blow, Minho grabbed his wrist, twisted it, deflected the blade, and placed his own under his jaw.
âDonât play me for a fool.â Minhoâs voice was low, quivering with anger. âI know your tricks better than anyone.â
Ravon froze, then slowly raised his hands.
âPerhaps all is not lost. Return to us. I will teach you everything I knowâŚâ He didnât get to finish as Minho slit his throat.
Blood sprayed across Minhoâs face and the ground around them. But a sneer remained on the masterâs face as he slowly bled out, choking on his own blood. Minho stood up and, wiping the blood from his cheeks with his sleeve, nodded toward the cliff.
âLet's go,â he said, and the Shadows dispersed.
No one had any intention of challenging Minho. The Guild's internal rules were simple. He had won the fight, so at that point he was untouchable. Still shocked by what had just happened, you followed Minho. However, you felt everyone's eyes on you.
By dawn, you finally reached the palace, its dark walls looming in the first rays of dawn. Exhaustion weighed heavily on everyone, so you decided to rest for a moment in the nearby ruins. Throughout the journey, Minho hadn't allowed himself to be tended to by the wounds he'd sustained during the fight. Only when you were all settled in your seats did Minho begin to tend to his wounds in his privacy. Fortunately, Felix noticed.
âHave you always preferred to do everything alone?â he asked, approaching him.
âI'm not used to getting help from others,â he replied, hissing in pain as he dressed one of his wounds.
Felix just nodded and helped him treat the rest of his injuries. Minho had to admit that your medic definitely knew his stuff.
Afterward, everyone except Han took a short nap, allowing you to recuperate. Han watched over you all during this time, especially you. As befits your guardian.
Only when the sun had fully risen into the nearly cloudless sky and you had regained enough energy did you set off for the palace's basement. The plan was simpleâat least in theory. You had to free Minho's siblings from the prison dungeons and escape. Using secret passages that Chan knew for some reason, you managed to get right up to the castle gates undetected.
You stood behind a thick wall, only Minho leaned out slightly to assess the number of guards.
"Only four. Felix, can you handle it?" he whispered, turning back to the group.
"I can handle them easily." Your medic said, taking four darts from a small pouch.
"Just don't miss," Seungmin added.
Felix just rolled his eyes and moved slightly behind the wall. He aimed the dart at the first guard and fired it at him. He immediately shot at the next three guards. Each of them fell to the ground almost immediately, motionless. You were lucky that Felix's newly developed paralysis darts worked immediately, and none of the guards had time to call for help.
The dungeons smelled of damp, musty, and rust. You passed each cell â the prisoners' empty stares, pleas, outstretched hands. It all broke your heart. You walked through the entire dungeon, but none of the cells held the two children you were looking for. Only the last cell, at the end of the narrow corridor, hid two small figures huddled in the corner. Minho held his breath before rushing towards the bars. Changbin quickly disarmed the old mechanism, and the door opened with a soft click.
Minho almost immediately burst into the room, rushing toward his siblings. The two children immediately threw their arms around him, tears streaming down their faces.
"You're free," Minho whispered, hugging his siblings tighter.
They didn't have much time to savor the moment, however. Heavy footsteps echoed through the tunnel.
"Guards!" Chan hissed, peering down the corridor.
You all broke into a run, led by Chan, who knew the corridors best. Before you emerged, however, you paused for a moment, taking a quick glance at the long tunnel and the dozens of still-locked cells at its end.
âI'll come back for them.â You promised before Hyunjin pulled you further.
On the surface, the wind was cool, but freedom smelled different from the stale air of the dungeons. Minho immediately hid his siblings in another of his hideouts nestled among the rocks.
âDon't leave until I come back for you. You have everything you need to survive here, for a very long time. Protect each other. I can't let anything happen to you; you've already suffered too much because of me,â Minho said, wiping tears from their pale cheeks.
âCan't we stay with you?â his brother asked.
âIt's too dangerous. You have to stay here. At least for now. I promise you, I'll come back for you,â he said, bidding them farewell.
He then covered the entrance to the hideout with bushes and ordered you to return to your hideout. As soon as you reached your destination, you slammed your fist hard against the wall.âI have to go back,â you declared, your voice brimming with anger.Â
âI have to save my people. I won't wait. If you want to stay.â You clenched your fists tightly.
There was something hard, irrevocable in your voice. The rest hesitated; no one had anticipated such a turn. The mission to save Minho's siblings was already a madness. You were lucky you made it. Taking another step without a plan could have ended in disaster.
âY/n, wait!â Seungmin grabbed your hand as you tried to leave the hideout. âLet's establish a strategy first. We all want to help, but we can't go in blind. We'll be back tonight. I promise.â
Your eyes flashed with anger and determination, but you knew he was right. You nodded and went back inside, where you immediately began formulating a plan. As soon as you sat in the circle, you felt a sudden pang in your chest. You knew exactly what that meant. Your uncleâŚwas taking advantage of your tears again. And judging by the intensity of the pain, it was someone on the verge of death.
The boys were immediately concerned. Felix hurriedly pulled out one of the blue balls he'd made earlier and slipped it into your mouth. The pain subsided almost immediately.
"I don't like what I feel," you said, slowly relaxing your muscles. "My uncle is using my tears again. We have to act quickly."
Together you devised a plan. Everyone was given their own task. Jeongin and Minho were to handle the weapons. Seungmin and Felix were responsible for creating new weapons and potions that would aid you in combat. You, along with Changbin and Han, went to find most of the ingredients Felix needed, while Hyunjin and Chan were given the most dangerous task: sneaking into Hyunjin's family gardens to steal a very rare plant, from which Seungmin planned to create a deadly weapon that could greatly facilitate your fights. From what Seungmin had once read in ancient books, star leaf juice is deadly if even a drop drips into a wound. Everyone knew that going there was very risky, but you were willing to take the risk. However, to limit suspicion, only two people were allowed to go there.
They arrived there in the afternoon, the shadows of the buildings concealing their movements, and the rustling of leaves drowned out their footsteps. Their uncle's guards were swarming everywhere. Every step had to be carefully considered; one small mistake and everything would fall apart. As quietly as they could, they slipped through the high palace walls and hid in the dense bushes.
Just as they were about to move closer to the star leaf, they heard laughter. Someone was approaching."Don't you dare move now," Chan hissed. When a small, laughing girl emerged from behind the hedge, accompanied by her ladies-in-waiting, Hyunjin froze. His heart began to beat faster.
âSoraâŚâ He whispered, though he shouldnât have.
His younger sister, completely oblivious to the chaos of the world outside the palace, danced among the flowers as if the war were just a bad fairy tale. Hyunjin wanted to greet her, to hug her. After all, it had been so long since heâd seen her.
But before he could stand, they heard more footsteps. This time heavy. Your uncle. The tyrant. The man who started the war. He was accompanied by guards, including Jeonginâs father. Before either of them understood what was happening, the man grabbed Soraâs hand. The girl screamed in terror, but her voice was quickly muffled by the hand of one of the guards.
Hyunjin rushed forward like a tornado, ready to lunge at them, even with his bare hands, but Chan caught him mid-stride, holding him with all his might.
âHyunjin, you canât,â he hissed in his ear. âItâs a trap.â Uncle Y/nâŚheâs planning something. We canât give ourselves away. Not now. Or we'll lose everything."
Hyunjin was trembling with anger. His eyes were filled with tears and anger, but he knew Chan was right. He hated it.
Back at the hideout, the boys told everyone everything. The atmosphere in the group thickened.
"We're leaving immediately," you said without a moment's hesitation. "I won't let another innocent person suffer. Especially Hyunjin's sister."
No one argued. This time, no one questioned your decision. You quickly prepared all your weapons. Felix created new darts, smoke bombs, and a deadly star leaf potion. By the time night fell completely and the sky was dark, you were ready for a fight. A harder, riskier, and more personal one. You were finally ready to face your uncle and restore order to the kingdom.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
The night was heavy with anxiety. The air in the hideout was still, as if holding its breath. The chill of the chamber slowly began to wake you. You felt as if someone was still standing beside you, someone you didn't recognize. Your senses were racing to warn you. You slowly opened your eyes, trying to adjust to the light cast by the torches.
The shadow beside you moved slowly and precisely. When he turned sideways, you recognized him immediately. It was the same boy who had tried to kill you and appeared in your vision. His face was obscured by the dim light, but his gaze was as watchful as you remembered him.
You didn't hesitate, carefully scanning the room you were in. Slowly, so as not to make a sound, you grabbed a small knife that lay next to the bed where you lay. You hid the blade under the covers and closed your eyes, pretending you were still asleep.
You controlled his movements; as soon as he turned around, you reacted immediately. You threw off the covers and lunged at him with a speed you didn't expect from yourself. In an instant, you had the surprised Minho pinned against the wall, the cool blade pressing against the skin of his neck.
"What the fuck are you doing here?!" You screamed, your voice echoing through the halls.
Before you knew it, the rest of the guys ran into the room, practically tripping over each other.
"Y/n, wait!" Han shouted. "He's with us."
Minho looked up at you. His face was surprisingly calm. Too calm for someone with a knife to his throat. You thought he even smiled for a moment.
"Do you always greet your saviors like this?" He muttered with a lazy smile.
"Say that again and I'll cut youâ" You didn't get to finish as Hyunjin interrupted you.
"Minho helped us!"â
He's the one who led us out of the city. He risked his life for us and gave us shelter,â Seungmin added.
âMinho⌠So that's his name,â you thought, studying his face closely.
Before you could say anything, Minho moved, and the blade sliced ââthe skin of his neck. Very shallowly, but enough for a thin line of blood to appear. You froze.
âOh no⌠I⌠I didn't mean toâŚâ You started to panic and placed your hand over his wound to stop the bleeding.Minho grabbed your wrist.
âEasy,â he said. âIt's just a scratch.â But instead of simply pulling your hand away, he pulled it closer to his mouth and slowly ran his tongue over your fingers, licking the blood from them. His eyes never left you. Your reaction filled him with satisfaction.
You opened your mouth, but not a single word came out. You were in shock. A thousand thoughts were racing through your mind. The others watched the whole thing with a mixture of shock and disbelief.
âWhat the hell happened here?â Jeongin asked quietly, blinking a few times as if trying to wake up from a strange dream.
Minho finally let go of your hand and gently pushed you away from him..Â
âGreat, now that the princess is up, we can start training. Ready?â He asked as if nothing had happened.
âWhat?â You almost choked on your saliva. âI need an explanation. Why did you change your mind? You wanted to kill me earlier. Why are you helping us now?â
Your words caused a stir in the group. Everyone whispered among themselves, looking from you to Minho.
The boy cleared his throat. For a second, he looked as if he was wondering how much he should really say.
âBecause I had a dream about you,â he replied neutrally and headed towards the exit of the chamber, where the others were standing.
âSorry what?â His words stunned you. You had dreamt him too. It couldn't have been a coincidence.
âThe world was empty, covered in ash. I saw my siblings behind bars, screaming for help. Your uncle stood in the background. And you stood with a sword, at my side. âI know this wasn't just a dream, it was a prophecy. I felt itâŚâ
You salivated. You didn't know whether to be more shocked or worried.
Minho turned and threw a glance over his shoulder.
âAnd if I'm to save my loved ones, I must teach all of you to fight better. Especially you, princess.â
The rising sun found you up above, right above your hideout. Everything was perfectly prepared, yet perfectly hidden. Minho must have spent a lot of time here, training in ever-increasing killing arts.
Minho eyed you all, as if he knew your strengths and weaknesses with just one glance.
âReady?â he asked.
âSince when do we have a choice?â Changbin said, rubbing his eyes.
Minho smiled out of the corner of his mouth.âHere we go.âThe training was very dynamic and demanding. Definitely more demanding and thorough than the one Jeongin had given you. Minho was very focused on bringing out the best in each of you. He wanted to make sure you were fully capable of fighting your uncle and his guards. You had to remember that the army consisted of the best of the best, chosen by Jeongin's father, and you knew perfectly well what he was capable of.
After long hours of training, many abrasions, and liters of sweat running down your foreheads, Minho allowed you a moment of rest. You were exhausted, but satisfied. You knew you had done a good job.
âY/n, let's see what you've learned. â Minho shouted at you, polishing one of his knives.
Surprised, you rose from the cold stone you were sitting on and walked over to him. The boy immediately turned serious, signaling you to attack. You knew perfectly well he wouldn't give you much of a head start. You gripped the hilt of your sword tighter.
The first strike was swift. You lunged forward, aiming for his side, but Minho dodged to the side as easily as if fighting were a dance he knew by heart.
âToo slow,â he replied.
âWe'll see.â You snapped back. You attacked again. Minho expected your move, but you surprised him with a change of direction. The blade of your wooden weapon stopped a centimeter from his ribs. Minho raised an eyebrow.
âNot bad.â
He pushed your weapon away, then delivered a quick uppercut. She barely dodged, half-pirouette. The rest of the group stopped what they were doing and focused on your fight.
Punch.
Counter.
Evade.
Block.
Roll.
Punch.
The sound of wood striking wood echoed off the rocks surrounding you.
"You have talent," Minho admitted, mid-fight. "But you're relying too much on your strength."
"Says the one who fights like a killing machine." You retorted, trying to drive the weapon under his guard, which he held firmly.
"Machine, hmm? No one's ever called me that. Compliment accepted."
At one point, you pressed against him with all your strength and gained a momentary advantage. You forced him back a few steps. This brought a wide smile to his face.
"You know everyone's watching you right now? He asked.âThey're probably looking at you.â
âI wouldn't be so sure, Y/n.â
Before you could answer, Minho made a sudden feint that immobilized you in one precise move. You fell to one knee, your weapon flying high into the air, landing a few meters away from you.The boy leaned over you and whispered.
âEleven sequences. That's definitely more than I expected from someone who hadn't seen how to stand properly before.âHe offered you his hand and helped you stand.
âI'm impressed,â he said, walking over to your weapon.
You were glad his back was to you, because your face was turning slightly pink, though you weren't sure if it was from exhaustion or Minho's words.
âAgain,â he said, handing you the sword.
âHow did I know you'd say that?â You laughed lightly, but got into a fighting stance.
Minho wasn't kidding when he said you needed discipline and lots of training. The very next day, he woke you all up at dawn, throwing bags of rice at you to use as weights.
"Get up," he growled. "If you want to even survive the fight against your uncle and his army, you'll have to focus more. You have to stop being soft."
"Soft?" Hyunjin muttered sleepily. "I'm dead."
"That means you'll be perfect for obstacle courses," Minho replied with a serious tone. It was clear he was very keen on training you well.
The training was harder for you than you might have expected. You thought you'd get a head start as a girl, but nothing could be further from the truth. Minho watched you closely, picking up on every little mistake, every misplaced step, every slow muscle contraction, every delayed reaction.
"Hand higher... Weight on the right side... Breathe!" Y/n, breathe, you can't die here." You could still hear Minho's voice next to you.
"I'm trying!" You hissed, struggling with the heavy rope he had you dragging behind him up the steep slope.
"Trying isn't enough for you," Minho muttered, stepping on the rope.
You wanted to snap back at him, but you decided to grit your teeth and pull the rope as hard as you could, almost knocking him over.
After the daily training, which ended around noon, you all headed back to the cave, where a well-balanced meal, prepared by Minho, awaited. Sometimes it surprises you how this boy could make something so good out of nothing.
You sat together in the common room, which had several tree trunks for you to sit on and a large log that served as a table. The room was quiet, almost too quiet for you. You glanced at Minho, who was standing against the wall, finishing his meal. Looking at him, you felt an overwhelming urge to ask him a question that had been nagging at you since you found out who he was.
"Minho," you said, setting down your plate. "Tell me more about the Shadow Guild."
Your question pulled everyone away from whatever they were doing. Their eyes were fixed on Minho, who was staring at them with the same emotionless expression he always had.
âI knew you'd ask this somedayâŚâ He sighed lazily, but began to tell the story.
The Shadow Guild was no ordinary organization. There were no records of it in any book. Nor did it have a symbol, banner, or headquarters. Its members â the Shadows â were trained like weapons, like blades meant to kill silently. To become one of them, one had to fulfill three rules:
1.Never hesitate
2. Never show any emotion
3. Never ask who you really work for.
Minho broke all three.
When he was only six years old, his family went into debt to raise him and his two siblings. The Shadow Guild was recruiting children who, for their age, were exceptionally fast, agile, and above all, desperate. Minho was a perfect fit. They offered his parents a large sum of money for him. Naturally, they accepted, as they had two infants to care for.
He was taken away at night. Even though he was young, he didn't ask where he was going. He didn't resist. His siblings cried, but he knew it was the only way to help his siblings. He didn't want their fate to be so dire.Training for the little boy was terrible. Every day seemed like a nightmare.
"Too slow," his mentor said, and a moment later, Minho felt the slap of a bamboo pole against his back. "Too loud." Another slap. "Too human." That hurt the most.
Over time, Minho learned to shut off his emotions. He learned to breathe silently. To move silently. And to disappear into the darkness, like a Shadow. His superiors always told him.
"A Shadow has no name. No family. Nor does it have a heart."
But Minho had everything they told him to get rid of. That's why, over the years, he became the best. Not because he was empty, but because he remembered his family, for whom he did all this. That was the only thing that kept him sane. At just 15, he had become the best assassin in the entire Guild. He was faster, more agile, and stronger than anyone else. He killed with utter brutality, yet showed no emotion. He was ruthless; none of the other Shadows they recruited would stand up to him.
When he was 17, he discovered something he shouldn't have. During one of his missions, he overheard a conversation. The Shadow Guild didn't serve the nation at all; they weren't guardians of balance and peace. They weren't defenders of order. They were a tool in the hands of the enemy, in the hands of Y/n's uncle. He was the one who paid for their missions. He was the one who sent Shadows to intimidate, kill innocents, and spy on his behalf. And he was the one who ordered the kidnapping of Minho's siblings. To "maintain his loyalty."
Minho was so valuable that he and his mentor had to find a way to intimidate him into staying on their side. When Minho heard this, something inside him snapped. The whole world, all that discipline, all those years of pain and sacrifice were just a lie.So he broke rule number three⌠He asked.
âWhy?â He hissed, and his mentor looked at him like a common dog who disobeyed its owner.\
The answer was cold, completely devoid of human emotion.
âBecause youâre the best. And the best need to be kept on a leash and controlled.â
Minho had made up his mind then. He would escape and never return. In that moment, he died as a Shadow and was reborn as an enemy of the Guild.
Everyone knows perfectly well that killing a Shadow is difficult, and escaping from one is even harder. For weeks, Minho lived like an animal. He slept in ruins, ate whatever he could find, and fought other fugitives who had also escaped the Guild and wanted to kill him to gain the favor of their masters. Minho lost count of how many of his "brothers" he'd killed. Anyone who tried to stop him never returned alive. Minho became a terror, even to the Guild itself. Since then, he bore scars no one dared to ask about.
"Wow...I didn't expect your past to be so dark. I'm sorry about your siblings. But I promise you, I'll help free them," you said, still in disbelief at what he'd been through.
"Okay, but there's one more thing I don't understand. Why are you training us so hard, especially Y/n?" Han asked, filling his cheeks with the last spoonful of food.
Minho didn't reply and simply walked wordlessly to his chamber, but his mind was full of thoughts. He knew perfectly well who would stand in their way, who they would have to fight. Not just ordinary soldiers, not your uncle's troops. They would have to face the Shadow Guildâhis former brothers and sisters, who had undergone the same training as him. Or maybe they're even better, because they lack the emotions he managed to hold inside. He taught you everything he knew, because he knew you'd be the one to stand in his place. You'd be the one to stand before the Guild. And he... And he'd stand by your side. Even though he knew he'd have to face what he hates most... his own past.
A few days later, Minho announced it was time for a progress review.
"This time, we're not playing with wooden weapons anymore," he said. "Today, we'll use real weapons."
"What!?" The whole group shouted at once.
"Relax, we have a medic, after all." He sneered. "Y/n, you're fighting me."
Your mouth dropped open in astonishment.
"Steel? Minho, are you crazy? We'll cut ourselves!"
"It's up to you," he said indifferently. "Besides, our opponents won't be using wooden weapons."
Neither of you wanted to fight seriously, especially with real weapons. You were afraid of hurting each other. Especially since you had to return to the castle soon, and everyone had to be in top shape. After the other members of the group had fought for a long time, it was your turn. You had to fight Minho.Â
When you faced each other, the entire training ground fell silent.Â
"Ready?" he asked quietly.
âNo.â You grumbled uncertainly.
âPerfect.â
Minho lunged first. This time, much faster than usual. As if he hadn't used even half his abilities before. Metal clashed against metal. You jumped back, barely avoiding the blade that sliced ââthrough the air where your neck had been a second ago.
âYou want to kill me!â You screamed, furious.
âNo. I want to teach you!â he retorted, attacking again.
You slammed your sword blade against his, the force of the blow jarring your arm.
âYou're too slow!â Minho shouted. âYou're not supposed to react to my movements. You're supposed to anticipate them.â
You raised your weapon, blocking another of his blows, then another, and another. Minho forced you back, adapting faster than you could. You deflected one of his blows so hard he had to half-turn to keep his balance.
âFinally!â Han shouted, watching everything intently.
âDonât get distracted!â Minho hissed and immediately changed tactics.
Now he was attacking, swinging low and high, combining his moves in a way that was almost unreadable. You could barely keep up, and the sweat on your temples began to mix with the rising dust. Finally, you decided on a risky move. You rolled over his shoulder and struck from behind. But he had anticipated this, too. He stopped his blade an inch from your throat. His smile was dangerously proud.
âPerfectâŚâ He whispered. âThis is how youâre supposed to fight.â
You trembled with exertion, adrenaline, and emotion.
âI wanted to hit you,â you admitted, panting.
âYou would have, but I hit faster.â He corrected you.
He held out his hand, helping you up. His fingers lingered on your hand for a moment longer.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
Warnings: killing, median of blood, hurt, pass out, pain
The next day, as the sun was just beginning to break through the heavy clouds, you set off again. Your fever had subsided, and your body seemed relaxed. Khan led the way, and neither of you dared mention what had happened the night before. The air was cool, and the length of the journey and its constant fatigue weighed on everyone, but no one complainedâyou knew you had to reach the city before your uncle sent more troops after you.
When you reached the city, something was wrong from the very beginning. The city greeted you with silence. The market square, usually bustling with activity, was empty. No merchants, no children running near the well, no vendors selling fruit and vegetables. The doors of the houses were ajar, the windows covered, the streets deserted, as if everyone had fled in a hurry, or worse, been killed. However, you were very alert, and this silence was your first warning to be on your guard.Â
âI don't like thisâŚâ Seungmin frowned, clutching one of his arrows.
Changbin took a few steps forward, positioning himself as a shield.
âStay alert. Something stinks here.â
You felt the same way. Tension hung in the air, as if someone had pulled an invisible string and was waiting for the right moment to snap it.
The second warning came rather quickly, right after you stepped through one of the massive iron gates. An arrow whistled past you and embedded itself deep in the wooden wall of the house behind you.
âGet down!â Chan shouted, pulling you along.
The next moment, your uncle's guards began pouring out of the dark alleys and underground entrances, followed by, to your horror, ordinary citizens, their expressions filled with terror, as if something had robbed them of their own will. In the crowd, which you quickly estimated at 50, you saw guards, men, women, and even a few children. You knew perfectly well whose fault it was. Your uncle had no scruples, no concern for the well-being of others, only for his own profit. He must have convinced these poor townspeople that he would kill them if they didn't join him.
You had to get into the fight or your whole plan would be ruined. Your uncle was one step ahead of you, and judging by the number of men, he must have known you were heading towards the palace. Hyunjin rushed forward, his katana arcing, blocking the attackers' attacks. Felix jumped to the side, grabbing two opponents by the wrists and knocking their weapons away in one movement. Jeongin sent another lightning-fast kick towards him, knocking him to the ground. There were definitely fewer of you than your opponents, but for the first few minutes, you were doing surprisingly well. Jeongin's training came in handy. You did your best to avoid inflicting serious wounds on your subordinates. You ran, parried blows, and disarmed people instead of killing them, knowing they were your men forced into battle.
Chan fought like crazy, staying close to you as if trying to protect you.
"Watch out! On your right!" you shouted.
But it was too late. The axe-wielding guard swung at Chan. The boy parried the first blow, but the second struck him with the side of the blade. It tore his shirt and cut his skin. The red line immediately filled with blood.Â
Unfortunately, you were too absorbed in your own fight to see it. Despite the pain, Chan didn't give up, gritting his teeth and continuing to repel the enemy attack.
The battle was unsparing. Your enemy's numerical superiority was crushing. Not wanting to kill ordinary citizens, it wasn't diminishing. Each time, people rose, grabbed whatever they could, and returned to the fight. At some point, your strength began to fail. Everyone was wounded. Hyunjin was struck in the shoulder by the butt of a spear. Han received a cut on his cheek from a knife he barely managed to stop. Changbin limped after someone struck him in the knee.
You began to lose strength. Your movements were sloppy. It was getting harder and harder to raise your weapons, harder and harder to avoid the blows. You were surrounded. The number of enemies dwindled very slowly.
"It's over..." Jisung rasped, struggling to hold his spear.
You wanted to join the rest of the boys, who were the least skilled at fighting, but at that moment someone grabbed your braid. You hissed in pain. The jerk snapped you off balance. The blade moved dangerously close to your neck.
Then a distinctive whoosh sounded. A shot pierced the air and buried itself in the neck of the attacker behind you. He staggered, let go of you, and fell. One arrow, then another, a third. Each hit accurately and lethally. All the guards fell one by one, but no one in the group was responsible for the shots. Some of the villagers, seeing the arrows pierce the guards' heads, began to retreat. Others became even more aggressive.
"Where...?" Jeongin began, but he didn't finish.
Then a silhouette jumped onto the roof of a nearby hut. Dark, airy, swift. She moved like a shadow, as if she weren't touching the ground. A moment later, she jumped down onto the cobblestones as softly as a cat, and then, in a split second, she dispatched the guards still standing. Metal flashed, someone screamed, someone fell.
"Who's that?" slipped from your lips.
His sudden appearance unleashed the chaos you desperately needed in the enemy ranks.
"Follow me!" Chan, despite his wounds, broke into a run. He knew this city best, knew every secret passage and every disused sewer entrance few knew about.
He led you deeper into the maze of streets until you reached an old manhole leading to the sewers. The grate was heavy and rusty. Despite the obvious pain, Chan gripped the iron bars, tensed his muscles, and lifted the grate. In that same second, the wound on his stomach burst wider. Blood spurted, flowing down his side like a warm, sticky ribbon
"Quick!" he hissed.
One by one, you quickly jumped into the sewer. You were the last one, turning once more to make sure Chan was following you. When you noticed he had also dropped underground, you ran after the others. You ran until you saw light shining from the end of the tunnel.
You burst into a wild clearing just outside the city. The air was fresh, smelling of pine and freedom. Everyone fell to their kneesâtired, injured, but alive. You looked up and felt your heart skip a beat.Â
âWhere's Chan?â
No one answered. You looked at each other, terrified. In an instant, you were all rushing back to the tunnel. In the dim light of the sewers, you spotted him. He lay motionless in a pool of blood a few steps from the hatch. His face was pale, his lips blue, and his chest heaved barely perceptibly.
âChan!â You rushed to him, your voice echoing through the tunnel.
Above you, the commotion was loud againâthe enemies were close. You ordered the boys to take Chan to safety. Changbin and IN lifted Cham, and the others led them back to the clearing. Felix immediately began to carefully analyze the situation.
âIt's bad, very bad,â Felix said, revealing a large gash on Chris's stomach. âHe's dying,â he added as Chan's breathing became increasingly shallow.
Felix's hands shook as he pulled bandages from the small pouches strapped to his belt. He had to stop the bleeding, and fast. Otherwise, the boy would bleed out in minutes.
You couldn't watch. You couldn't stand idly by, waiting for your friend to die. You knelt beside him and began to cry. You didn't have to force yourself. The sight of Chan's increasingly paler face broke your heart. You ordered Felix to step back, which surprised him, but he complied.
You exposed the wound, and your heart ached. You knew perfectly well that bringing someone back from the clutches of death would be incredibly painful, but you had to do it. Tears began to stream down your cheeks, sinking into Chan's wound. You immediately felt a searing sensation. Chan's pain coursed through you like a wave of fire, tearing you apart from the inside. You shuddered, but didn't back down. The wound on his stomach slowly began to heal, the muscles and skin merging into one.
The boys watched in utter stunned silence. They'd never seen anything like it. They never saw what you were truly capable of. After a moment, Chan opened his eyes and inhaled sharply, as if returning from a very long journey.
âY/n?â He whispered.
But you couldn't hear it anymore. You lost consciousness, pale and trembling. Your body collapsed to the ground beside him. Felix immediately rushed to your side, checking on you.
âDon't worry, she's fine. She fainted. She just needs to rest for a while,â Hyunjin said, reassuring the others. He knew perfectly well what you were capable of and the consequences.
The rest of you caught your breath for a moment. Your healer could now focus on tending to the others. The wounds weren't difficult to treat, and thanks to Felix's knowledge, you could use the many plants in the clearing.
A few minutes later, as Felix was finishing bandaging Seungmin, the boys heard a rustling sound and each grabbed their weapons, lining up beside you to protect you. A cloaked figure entered the clearing. Everyone's hands gripped the hilts of their weapons.
The cloaked figure slowly lowered his hood, revealing a handsome face covered in fresh blood. He approached you, wiping the blood from his blades.
"I see you need shelter," he said calmly.
The group looked at him warily. They didn't know him, but he had helped them escape your uncle's trap. Why would they do that if he wasn't on your side?
"We don't know you," Seungmin said sharply. "Why should we trust you?"
The stranger shrugged.
"Maybe you shouldn't," he added. âBut if you stay here longer than five minutes, we'll all die. The guards are searching every corner of this kingdom. Come. I know a place her uncle can't see.â
Silence fell. The boys didn't know what to do. They exchanged silent glances.
âLet's goâŚâ Chan said.
The boys picked you up and followed the unknown boy. They didn't know where they were going, but at that moment, it was their only chance for survival. They followed the stranger deeper into the forest, each footstep seeming louder than it actually was. The trees in this part of the forest grew denser, as if intertwining their crowns, guarding the secrets hidden beneath their shadows. The unknown boy moved almost silently, as if he knew every stone, every stick, and every root on this path.Felix glanced at you every now and then, making sure you were breathing. Your body was limp, still reeling from your desperate sacrifice to save Chan, who was following closely. He leaned on Changbin's arm, but his gaze kept darting to you. He was grateful, yet furious with you.
Finally, as the path began to turn rocky, the stranger turned to you.
"We'll be there soon, but don't ask any questions," he said quietly.
Everyone glanced at each other, but no one was about to argue with him. Your uncle's troops could be anywhere, and only he could help you now. After a few minutes of walking, the path curved sharply and suddenly opened onto the entrance to a cave, so well hidden among the rocks that if the man hadn't stopped before it, you probably would have passed by.
"Is that where you want to take us?" Han narrowed his eyes.
"If you don't like it, we can go back to the clearing and wait for the guards there," the stranger replied without a trace of irony.
Chan was the first to enter. Only after him did the others follow, and the stranger closed the sloping entrance with something like a sliding stone slab. It was chilly inside. The stranger began lighting torches placed along the walls. This gave the corridor a bit of light, and you were able to proceed to a wider chamber, lined with furniture. It looked like a fully furnished apartment. Several paths branched off from the main part of the cave, suggesting additional rooms.
Jeongin carried you to one of them and laid you on the bed. He lit one of the torches so you wouldn't be frightened by waking up in complete darkness, and returned to the others.
âYou're safe here,â the man announced. âI'm Minho.â With that, he began to pull out all the weapons he had on him onto the table. One of the daggers caught Jeongin's attention.
âThe Shadow GuildâŚâ He whispered, as if he couldn't quite believe what he had just seen.
The others turned sharply toward Minho.
âThe Shadow Guild is just a legend, created to scare children,â Seungmin said, gripping his bow nervously. âExcellent assassins, undetectable spies⌠ghosts without names.â
Minho just smirked.
âAs you can see, I'm here. I'm not a ghost⌠I guess.â
Han sat down on the bench, wiping the red marks from his white uniform.
âWhy did you help us?â he asked.
Minho didn't answer the question immediately. He walked past you and stood near the doorway to the room you were in.
âBecause sheâŚâ He looked up at Chan. âShe couldn't have died in that place.â
They all looked at each other in confusion.
âWhat are you talking about? Do you know Y/n?â Hyunjin frowned.
Minho sighed slightly.
âI saw her in a dream. She's the key I need.â His explanation wasn't very clear, but none of the boys dared to ask anything more.
They were all tired and not very talkative. They decided to keep watch over you. The first person to go to you was Han, and the rest could finally get some proper rest.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
Paring: Bang Chan x Y/N
Warnings: 18+, making out, mention of killing, hurt
After a week of constant preparationsâhiding tracks, planning routes, gathering supplies, and establishing signalsâthere was no time to delay. You knew you had to act and get closer to the castle. The evening sky was covered with heavy clouds, and the chill of the night seeped through your thin clothes. You decided to set off before dawn. Although approaching the palace wouldn't be easy, you had to do it to give your plan any chance of success.
You knew every step would cost you more than the others. Since the night of the attack, the pain hadn't subsided. Someone was constantly taking advantage of your tears, exhausting your body. But you couldn't say anything; the boys would start to worry too much, losing focus on the mission.
As you had planned, you set off before dawn. The first day of your journey was favorableâthe wind carried the scent of herbs, and the path led over a gentle hill. You encountered no one along your path. Seungmin and Chan carefully studied the maps to choose the safest route for you. You walked relentlessly for hours, always wanting to cover as much distance as possible. The downside of taking the safe route was that it took a significant amount of time. That night, you set up camp at an old mill, somewhat dilapidated but dry. The IN separated the guard, and Changbin made a concoction of nettles and mint that Felix had picked along the way.
The constant pain kept you from eating. When Changbin handed you a bowl, you smiled weakly and pressed it to your chapped lips, but you couldn't swallow a single sip. Your stomach twisted at the thought of food; you had no desire for anything. As soon as he left to distribute the rest of the food, you poured it all out behind the old boards and went to bed, trying to get some rest from the constant pain. With each passing day, the path became more difficult. Through forests full of undergrowth and cobwebs, over rivers that had to be crossed on slippery stones. One evening, after a particularly arduous trek through the swamp, you felt very ill. Your heart began to beat faster again, and all the energy seemed to drain from your body. You felt dizzy and slumped to the ground.
Concerned, Felix approached you and placed his hand on your forehead.
"Y/n, you're burning up." He said, observing your body closely.
Your hands were shaking, and the dark circles under your eyes seemed even darker than before.
"It's just a momentary weakness. I'm fine." You tried to reassure him, unable to admit that you were already on the verge of exhaustion. Every day, a part of you disappears under the weight of suffering.
"Didn't you sleep last night?" He asked quietly.
"I couldn't..." You replied just as quietly, staring at the lit fire.
He didn't press the matter further. But that night, he didn't sleep at all. Neither did he, nor the other boys. They saw you waking up in the night and silently drifting away. Your steps were unsteady, in fact, you barely made it from one tree to the next. You felt sick, at the end of your rope. The difficult journey, the long hours without food, the journey in the bright sun, and the added weight were making you lose energy faster. You'd never had such trouble coping with the effects of your tears before. It's possible it's related to the added stress and daily training to be prepared for the fight with your uncle.
On the fifth day, the rains came. You walked through the valleys, soaked to the bone, but you didn't stop. You walked slowly, leaning on a stick you found in the forest. The boys were increasingly suspicious that something might be wrong. Your skin lost its glow, and your cheerful smile vanished. You also felt a dire need for a bath â four days without access to clean water had added fuel to the fire. You would have given anything for a cold spring to bathe in. That night, you slept in the ruins of an old inn, sheltering yourselves from the downpour.
"Is it just me or does something seem wrong with Y/n?" Jeongin asked, wringing out his wet clothes.
"She's suffering, but she won't admit it. Iâve been watching her for a while now, but she always says she's fine." Felix said, drying his hair with a piece of cloth they found in the building.Â
Hyunjin, however, couldn't hold it in any longer and walked over to you.
"Hey. Are you okay?" He asked, placing a hand on your shoulder.
"Yes. It's justâŚthe last few days have been hard for me, but I'm fine." You tried to calm them down.
But then your legs gave out under your weight. You fell to your knees. Everyone immediately rushed to your side.
"Enough lies." Seungmin hissed. "You need rest."
"Are those tears?" Hyunjin asked so quietly that even you barely heard. You only nodded slightly.Â
Only he and Jeongin knew exactly how your power worked, which was sometimes a blessing, but sometimes a nuisance.
"I'll take care of it. You can dry off," he said, helping you up and leading you to a separate room ."Since when is your uncle using your tears again?" Hyunjin whispered, knowing full well what was happening to you.
"For five days." You gave in and revealed what was troubling you. Your eyes were filled with pain. The kind that was hard to hide.
"Y/n, why didn't you tell us earlier? Felix would surely have found some way to ease your suffering," the boy said with a hint of irritation in his voice. But he wasn't angry with you, he just couldn't accept that you had suffered alone for so long.
âI didn't want to worry you, you're already doing more for me than I can ask for.â You replied, wavering with your hand. âIt'll be okay, really. I promise, I'll tell you when I can't take it anymore.â\
Hyunjin just nodded, knowing he had no chance of arguing with you. He helped you up, and you went together to the others to eat something and warm yourself by the stone fireplace. Hyunjin partially respected your request and didn't tell anyone but Felix how you felt. Your medic immediately knew what he had to prepare to make you feel better. Without saying a word, he took some dried herbs from his bag and made a tea, which he then gave to you. You drank it, and relief came almost immediately. Your muscles finally relaxed, the shivers stopped, and you felt hungry. You ate the practically tasteless soup the boys had prepared with relish.
âI have good news.â Han, who had gone to investigate the area around your camp, ran in, panting.
Curious, you turned to him, waiting for this good news. You could use some refreshment, finally something positive.
"I found a small spring hidden deep in the forest near this inn. The water seems very clean and not too deep. So we'll be able to bathe today."
You were all happy, as it had been a long time since you had been able to enjoy fresh water to refresh yourselves. You, however, decided to bathe in the morning, as the medicine Felix had given you had somewhat eased your pain, and you felt like you'd be able to go to sleep normally.
But the night was hard on you again. Darkness enveloped everything. You stood in the middle of the vast throne room, the air filled with fear and tension. Before you, on their knees, sat eight boys â your friends and the one stranger. They were held tightly by the guards, their bodies showing signs of battle. Behind them stood more of your uncle's guards, armed with long, gleaming spears. Heâyour uncleâsat across from you. His gaze was icy, his lips twisted in a faint, merciless smile.
"Choose," he said coldly. "You surrender, and no one will be harmed...or they will die."
Your heart was pounding. Everything in you screamed to fight, to not give him the satisfaction. You clenched your fists, clenched your teeth, and tears welled up in your eyes. You wanted to save them. You had to. You took a step forward, clenching your fists tightly around the hilts of your swords.
"No..." You whispered. "I will never surrender."You lunged at him, a cry filled with desperation and pain. In that same second, your uncle signaled to the guards. You heard a whistleâand then a dull thud. Spears pierced the bodies. One by one. The light in their eyes faded before your eyes. The last one you met was Felix. His lips moved in a silent "sorry." A scream tore from your throat.
You awoke abruptly from your sleep, covered in sweat, your heart pounding. Your body burnedâyou had a fever. You were breathing heavily, as if you were still fighting for their lives. You still felt their presence, their pain, and your own helplessness. You glanced around at your friends, who were also sleeping. Exhaustion was etched on everyone's faces. But you needed to move around, needed to calm down. The first person who came to mind was Chan, who was lying closest to you. You gently nudged him to wake him.
"Chan..." You whispered, just enough so as not to wake the others.
"What's going on?" He woke almost immediately, as if he'd been awake the entire time. His gaze traveled over your tired face, and his eyebrows knitted together in concern.
"I need to wash upâŚbutâŚI don't want to drown. Will you come with me?" You admitted quietly, almost shyly.Â
Chan hesitated for a split second, then nodded in agreement. You reached a small, secluded lake hidden among the trees. The water was almost still, reflecting the pale moonlight. You took off your coat and carefully stepped into the water, feeling the coolness wash over your skin, bringing relief to your feverish body. Chan turned around, standing at the edge.
"Don't peek," you said jokingly, though your voice was weak.
"I'm not that type," he replied, but there was a hint of amusement in his tone.
You closed your eyes, sinking deeper. The water soothed, calming your heated bodyâŚuntil the world suddenly spun. Your feet slipped on a slippery rock, and before you knew it, you fell into the water with a splash, no footing. You started to panic, desperately trying to float, but you sank deeper and deeper, gulping down more and more water.
âY/n!â Chanâs voice cut through the night silence.
Before you could draw in another breath, you felt strong arms wrapping around you tightly. Before you knew it, you were pulled to the surface, nestled against his body. His breathing quickened, and his hands gripped your back tightly.
âAre you okay?â His voice quivered with emotion.
You felt his warmth, his hard, tense muscles beneath the wet fabric of his shirt. His wet hair fell lightly across his forehead, water droplets clinging to his skin. Your heart began to beat faster, but not from the feverâit was something else. Something you didnât want to analyze right now.
Chan felt it too. His fingers tightened on your skin, and your breathing became shallow. You looked up, and your eyes met in the darkness of the night. You couldn't tear your gaze away from his beautiful brown eyes. Hesitantly, very slowly, he began to shift his gaze from your eyes to your lips. You couldn't help but bite your lip. He must have noticed, because he immediately placed his hand on your cheek and ran his thumb over your swollen lips.
Before you knew it, he had connected your lips in a heated, yet gentle kiss, as if he wasn't sure if he was doing the right thing. Almost instantly, as if instinctively, you melted in his arms. You completely forgot the tension that had gripped you earlier; all your worries faded away, all the pain subsided. In that moment, it was just you, him, and the moonlight reflecting on the calm water.
Time stopped, and you lost yourself in the hot, passionate kisses. Pleasant gusts of wind enveloped your bodies, which seemed to become one. With each passing moment, you wanted it to end less and less, so you clenched your fist around the wet fabric of Chan's shirt, as if that would keep him from escaping.Â
Chan returned your gesture, his hand sliding down to your buttock and resting there. He didn't dare move it even an inch, wanting to make sure you had no problem with the movement. His actions opened a door within you that had been tightly closed for a very long time. You felt a pleasant shiver run through your body. You sank even deeper into the kiss, gasping for air as it escaped your lungs.
You decided to give in to your emotions completely. You wrapped your arms around his neck and, in one swift movement, jumped on top of him, wrapping your legs around his waist. Chan immediately guessed your intentions and grabbed your buttocks, holding them tightly. You felt his hands knead them, and a hard mound began to form in his pants.
Still kissing you, he carried you to the shore and gently laid you down on the dew-damp grass. One of his knees landed between your thighs, and he towered over you. He gently pulled away from you for a moment, parting your lips. Then, as if connected by an invisible thread, you smiled softly at the same time.
"You know that if we continue, there's no turning back?" He whispered directly into your ear.
"I know," you replied curtly and pulled him closer, connecting your lips again.
You didn't have to tell him twice. One of his hands moved to your bare breast. Your nipples were prickling from the cold and the incredible amount of arousal. You hadn't felt this way in ages. His hand played, kneaded, and pinched your nipple. From such trivial play, you felt yourself growing wet down there. Before you knew it, his hand landed on your pussy, rubbing small circles around your clit. Your heated kisses drowned out your moans of pleasure.
Everything was happening so fast, but you didn't want him to slow down. You couldn't wait to feel him. You practically ripped his soaked shirt off, and he stripped off his pants, along with his panties. Completely naked, you stared deeply into each other's eyes, wanting to make sure neither of you had a problem with what was about to happen.
Not seeing the slightest hesitation in your eyes, Chan slowly slid one finger into your hole. Your back automatically arched in a beautiful arc, revealing small droplets of water dripping down your stomach. Very carefully, as if afraid to hurt you, Chan began to move his finger, drawing a beautiful symphony of moans from you. His tongue traveled to your neck, then moved to your breasts, sucking on your sensitive nipples. He went lower and lower, licking the water that still clung to your body.
His slow but steady movements drove you wild. You dug your fingers into his back, letting him know you wanted more. Your silent plea was quickly fulfilled. Chan added a second finger and sped up his movements, then returned to kissing your beautiful lips. Your tongues intertwined, exchanging saliva. You felt a pre-ejaculate drip onto your lower abdomen. You knew he was just as aroused as you were.
"Chan... Please..." You said between kisses. You wanted him, you craved him, you had to do it now.
He carefully pulled his fingers out and broke the kiss, looking deep into your eyes. He searched for a final reassurance that you didn't mind. There was no turning back now; he knew perfectly well that once he started, he wouldn't be able to stop himself. You wrapped your arms around his neck and lifted your hips, hooking your pussy around his cock. It was the perfect invitation for him.
Before you could lower your hips to the ground, he grabbed you by the waist and plunged his entire cock into you in one swift movement. You were so surprised that you couldn't suppress your voice, and a loud, needy moan escaped your lips. It was like a rag to a bull for Chan. He began to thrust hard into you. His cock swelled your walls, making you feel full, but you enjoyed it. Too much, even.
You couldn't, didn't want to, hold back a single sound. You wanted him to hear the effect he was having on you. You dug your fingers into his back, leaving red marks, and wrapped your legs around his hips. You gave yourself completely to this wonderful feeling that ignited your entire body.
His movements were decisive, strong, yet fluid, soothing your nerves. With each stroke on your sensitive spot, with each subsequent moan, your body regained its former calm, and you lost yourself in the moment. Your eyes rolled back as he rolled you onto your stomach in one smooth movement, not fully withdrawing from you, and then thrust back into you with full force.
You were horny, and you immediately matched your movements to his, maximizing the pleasure flowing from this act of lust. With each second, you felt your lower abdomen grow warmer. You were on the verge of breaking. His cock filled you completely, pushing against your walls, which were desperately clinging to him. You dug your nails into the ground, feeling that you were about to reach your desired climax.
And it happened exactly as you expected. Just a few hard strokes, one solid slap that left a red mark on your ass, and you came. It all happened so quickly. Your eyes misted over, and a warm, pulsating current coursed through your entire body. The orgasm was so intense that you collapsed to the ground. Chan continued to hold your hips, continuing his play.
Your walls clamped down tightly on him, driving him to the brink of sanity. Your body so aroused him that his cock grew even harder; he was ready to come at any moment, but he wanted to savor this wonderful feeling for as long as possible.
He gripped your hips even tighter and sped up his movements. Your moans, the movements of your bodyâeverything was perfect. He wanted to possess it all, and for as long as possible.
âY/nâŚIâm about toâŚcum.â He whispered, thrusting into you even harder.
Chan felt like he was about to explode, and at the last second, he pulled out of you, and you felt warm cum shoot onto your buttocks. Chanâs hands never left your hips. You felt his every tenseness as he experienced the wonderful feeling of fulfillment. It took a while for his grip to slowly loosen, and he sank to the ground beside you.
âThat was wonderful,â you said, turning your head to him.He looked at you with a glint in his eyes and smiled warmly.
âI think so too,â he replied.
You lay there for a moment longer, until the cool night air began to hit your bodies. Goosebumps rose on your skin. Chan must have noticed.
âCome on, letâs get cleaned up and head back to camp,â he said, slowly getting up and helping you.
You quickly washed your bodies. Chan, of course, helped you. He stayed by your side. As if he was afraid you'd fall into the water again. He treated you as gently as he could. He ran his fingertips over your skin, washing away all the dirt from your body. When you emerged from the water, he handed you a dry cloth to dry off, and after you were dressed, you both went back to the base to warm up and dry off completely by the fire.
You felt much better now; you didn't have a fever, and your body was relatively calm. You sat next to each other, gazing into the orange flame, the warmth enveloping your faces. The whole atmosphere made you feel sleepy again. You glanced at Chan, who seemed lost in thought.
"We can't tell anyone about this," you both said at the same time.
This brought a slight smile to your faces. It seemed very funny that you were both thinking the same thing. You both nodded in agreement. You went back to sleep, and Chan stayed by the fire for a while, lost in his thoughts again.

The forest was shrouded in mist, and the chilly air prickled your skin like hundreds of tiny needles. Morning sunlight filtered through the dense treetops, painting the ground with warm patches of light. The silence was unnaturalâas if the forest itself were holding its breath, observing your movements.Â
Amidst this dreamlike setting, your entire group began intense training. You practiced relentlessly, until your muscles ached. Everything took place under Jeongin's watchful and cool eyes. As the son of a court guard, he was not only demanding but also fair. He had the calm of an experienced warrior and the speed of a predator. Moreover, he knew the most about combat and strategies. You had to admit, he had an innate talent for fightingâhe moved with incredible grace and learned new techniques almost instantly. Thanks to his guidance, everyone improved, and the bond between the group grew.
"Weapons are just tools. You are the ones who pose the threat." He said one morning, adjusting your grip on your sword. "Learn to breathe as if you were part of the forest. Then no one would notice you, and if you focus on the details, you'll be unstoppable."
You had only been training together for a week, but after just a few days, the difference was visible. You had all gained not only speed, agility, and strength, but also trust. You were united not only by a common cause but also by a growing sense of responsibility for each other. Each also trained independently with the weapons of their choice. They all had different weaponsâyou chose two slender swords, their blades shimmering in the light, designed for quick, precise cuts. You moved gracefully, learning to fight like a shadow among shadows. Chan fought hand-to-hand, using his incredible speed and jumping ability. His body was like a spring, ready to fire at a moment's notice. Seungmin preferred the bow, which allowed him to utilize the principles of physics and quick calculations to precisely aim at his opponents from a distance.Â
The most interesting weapon was chosen by Changbin, who used a heavy chain. Thanks to his farming experience, he had no trouble lifting a large piece of metal that could knock out anyone he struck. Hyunjin chose a very classic weapon: a katana. Its blade perfectly suited his build, merging with it as if in a dance. Wanting to spare his hands, which would be more useful for healing any wounds, Felix chose two lightweight sai that he could strap to his belt to free his hands. IN used a battleaxe, which his father also used. It was a weapon he had mastered, learning to wield before he could even walk properly. His father made sure heâd be a killing machine. Han, on the other hand, used a long spear made of white gold, which perfectly matched his entire outfit. Han was the only one who refused to wear black; his outfit was always snow-white, revealing his status.
One afternoon, after another grueling training session, Chan proposed.Â
"Time to see how much we're worth in practice. Let's do a field game."Everyone dressed in comfortable and functional clothes. Felix managed to go into town to have the local shoemaker make the outfits for the whole group. Of course, he didn't suspect a thing, as the entire city was on heightened alert due to the constant patrols of your uncle's guards.
"I know I... messed up back then," Hyunjin said, handing you the outfit earlier. "But I wanted you to have something special, just like you..."You smiled as you accepted the gift, but the two of you remained slightly reserved throughout, though you tried to keep up appearances and not mention that fateful night.Â
You changed into comfortable clothes amidst the thick bushes that served as your room. The leather outfit hugged your figure, clinging tightly to your body like a second skin; it was obvious it was made with you in mind. Each element of the outfit seemed to have its own purposeâfrom the high boots, to the armbands where you could store small knives, to the long gloves that protected your hands from the treacherous touch of a blade. Furthermore, the hood casts a shadow over your face, effectively concealing your features. To make you even harder to recognize, you pulled a silk scarf over your nose. Both of your swords could be easily carried on your back, so they wouldn't hinder your movements. The outfit was perfect, better than the one you'd imagined.
âReady?â IN looked at everyone, tightening his belt around his waist.
âTo kick your ass, always.â Changbin smiled cheekily, stretching his arms.
âYou have 10 minutes to get into position,â Chan reminded. âThen we begin.â
You took a deep breath and headed deeper into the forest. Adrenaline pulsed through your veins, and every rustle of leaves seemed to betray your position. The sand in the hourglass had tipped over, and the game had begun. You were afraid to take a deep breath for fear of giving away your position. You sat high in the canopy of a dense tree, watching everything from above. Suddenly, you heard a whistle in the distance â someone had already been eliminated. You were practically certain it was Felix, who had the least fighting experience of the group.
âFocus,â you thought, emerging slightly from the shadows of the leaves. You felt a mixture of excitement and tension. You had to make a move eventually. You closed your eyes and began to listen.
Rustling. Silence. Rustling. Too late.
A tug. Suddenly, something wrapped tightly around your neck. The rope tightened, cutting off your air. You struggled, struggling, thinking it was part of the game, and one of the boys had found you. But the grip grew more brutal, and you couldn't utter a single word. Your heart was pounding, and the oxygen was slowly leaking from your lungs.
"I'll make it quick. I promise." The voice was intriguing, alien, and yet vaguely familiar.
Your eyes misted over, but you remembered Jeongin's teachings.
"Use your legs. Low. Turn. Cut."
Taking advantage of your smaller size than the stranger, you suddenly turned around. Your neck stung, the rope leaving a bloody trail, but you freed yourself from the trap and jumped back, gasping for breath. You looked toward your attacker. The boy who had just tried to strangle you stood motionless, clutching your scarf. He was dressed entirely in black, but not ordinary black, but the kind that seemed to devour the light. Leather armor wrapped his body like a second skinâfull of belts, to which daggers were attached, giving him the look of an assassin. His cloak rustled slightly as it fluttered in the wind, and he held knives in his hands. He didn't raise them, though, but their presence spoke volumes. But what terrified you most was the mask that obscured half his face, leaving only darkness where his eyes should have been. Or maybe they were thereâjust so cold they seemed to burn a hole in the air.
You instinctively backed away, but every movement seemed a second too late for his cold presence. He didn't need to say anything, yet his whole being screamed, "You will not escape." Your gazes met. Even though you could only see his eyes, you recognized him. "It was him. The boy from your vision."
In an instant, as if woken from a trance, you ran. You took advantage of the boy's moment of hesitation and screamed as loudly as you could. You only heard the snapping of branches as the team rushed towards you. IN arrived first, but the stranger had already disappeared into the dense canopy. All you could see was a shadow flitting between the branches.
"What happened?!" Hyunjin ran to you, staring in horror at the red welt on your neck.
"He attacked me. He wanted... He wanted to kill me." You choked out, still feeling the tightness in your throat.
"Who was he?" Chan asked, nervously glancing around.
You swallowed hard.
"I saw him earlier. In my vision." Silence fell, everyone staring at you in disbelief. âWhat? How so?â Felix asked, already observing your wound.
âIn my vision, heâŚhe fought on our side.â The words hung in the air. You were all surprised. You didnât know why in your vision, the boy had fought on your side, but now he was trying to kill you.Â
Your training ended earlier than you had planned that day. The tension from your encounter with the stranger still hung in the air like a heavy fog, seeping deep into each of your thoughts. You returned to the base in silence, tired, wounded, and too focused on the events to joke as usual. You walked slowly through the forest, accompanied by the faint rustling of leaves and the distant hooting of an owl. As soon as you crossed the threshold of your base, Felix approached you almost immediately.
âSit down. I need to take care of this before it hurts any worse,â he said, gesturing to the felled trunk of an old oak tree.
You sat down obediently, brushing your hair aside to reveal the wound on your neck. Felix took a small bottle of rubbing alcohol and a piece of clean cloth from his bag. He soaked it thoroughly and looked into your eyes, as if to warn you of what was about to happen.
"Ready?"
"Probably not..." You muttered with a hint of a smile.
He placed the cloth on the wound. A sharp, searing pain shot through you immediately. You hissed through your teeth, feeling every nerve in your body tense in sudden protest.
âAgh⌠you could have at least counted to three!â
âYou always say you donât like delays.â He smiled slightly, tying the bandage expertly.
âThanks.â
Afterward, you headed towards the fire, where the rest of the team was already seated. They moved closer to the flames, talking in hushed tones and passing cups of hot herbal tea. Sparks flew into the air, disappearing somewhere between the treetops, and the embers of the fire reflected in the eyes of the gathered group, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
âWhat about her?â Seungmin asked quietly, glancing at your bandage.
âNothing serious. Just a minor scratch.â Felix answered for you, sitting on a tree stump. âA scratch? Some guy almost choked her.â Hyunjin clenched his hands in his lap. âIf it werenât for Jeonginâs teachingsâŚâ
âBut she broke free,â Changbin, who had been silent until now, interjected. He stared into the flames as if trying to read the answers. âThat boyâŚappeared out of nowhere and could have killed Y/n in a split second.â
âIt was definitely too easy for him,â Jeongin added. âAnd he knew too well what he was doing. It wasnât an accident.â
âDo you think it was one of Uncleâs bounty hunters?â Chan asked, adding dry wood to the fire.
âPossiblyâŚbut in my vision, he was definitely fighting on our side. If we can convince himâŚhe could be our asset.â You finally spoke, approaching the heat source.
âThatâs a big âif,â Felix noted. âHe almost killed you.â
âBut he didnât.â You replied calmly. âHe hesitated. I could see it in his eyes. There was anger in them⌠but not pure hatred.â
âOr a great game!â Hyunjin rose, clenching his fists. He didn't like your thinking. She didn't want to put you in danger again.
The discussion continued for a long time. Together, you mapped out possible scenarios, analyzed your mistakes from today, and created a plan of action. You knew one thing: after this confrontation, you couldn't afford any more slip-ups. Your enemyâyour uncleâwas merciless, and now you knew he had not only a vast army but also skilled agents at his disposal.
The fire crackled softly as night fell. The air was cool, and shadows danced on the base's walls. Exhaustion gripped your bodies, so you went to sleep. As you lay down on the soft, damp ground, covered in thick, velvety moss, you suddenly felt a wave of warmth wash over you. Beads of sweat began to form on your forehead, your hands resting against your torso trembled slightly, and your breathing quickened, as if your lungs were afraid they might run out of air.
A sudden tightness struck your chest, as if someone hidden within was trying to tear your ribs apart from the inside. Your heart poundedâonce, then twice, a third timeâuntil finally it began to pound in your chest with an unsettling rhythm, like a frenzied drum heralding doom. You felt as if the entire earth beneath you was trembling in response, resonating with your pain.
The pain appeared suddenly, unannounced, like the shadow a wolf casts before lunging for your throat. It wasn't paralyzing, but strangely deep, as if it came not from your body but from deep within your soul. Instinctively, you knew this wasn't your pain. You sensed echoes of other suffering within itâfragments of other people's tears, fragments of despair and fear. Your uncle⌠He had to store your tearsâthe ones you shed silently, locked away. Now he sells them on the black marketâto bandits, pirates, hunters, even royal nobilityâto make a fortune. And you had become a living conduitâa vessel into which the suffering of strangers was poured, to ease their pain, at your expense.
But you didn't want to tell the boys. Not yet. You couldn't cause them more grief. The pain was undulating, shiftingâit could suddenly ease, giving you false hope that it was over, only to return with the force of a rushing river. But you had known worse suffering. You knew the emptiness that remains after your parents' departure. You knew the taste of helplessness and the pain of different people. So you could endure a little more pain.
You clenched your fists on the damp moss, which smelled of rain and old leaves. You tried to focus on the rustle of the trees, whispering to each other high above you, as if to lull you into sleep. You closed your eyes, letting darkness creep in. You breathed deeply, trying to find your inner rhythm, the same one that helped you fall asleep while imprisoned by your uncle. Every fiber of your being throbbed with pain, but in that moment, you were willing to risk it. Maybe sleep would take you, maybe it would bring relief.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
Warnings: blood, pain, y/n is hurt, threatening life
The morning was cool, and a light mist hung over the ground. A cold gust of wind woke you up from your sleepy state. You rubbed your sleepy eyes, trying to eliminate the signs of lack of sleep. You slowly removed Hyunjin's hand from your waist and stood up carefully, careful not to wake him. Although his calm breathing indicated deep sleep. You quietly went outside, wrapping your arms around yourself to protect yourself from the morning chill.
You wanted to walk by the cottage to organize your thoughts. So you circled the building and in the distance you saw Felix, who was meditating among the trees, sitting on the moss in the lotus position. You approached him, and his face was calm. Every breath seemed to harmonize with the surrounding nature.
This intrigued you, so you decided to join him. You sat down next to him, closed your eyes and slowly began to calm your breathing. Slowly, peace began to take over you, your senses began to sharpen. You could hear the chirping of various birds, the chirping of crickets, and even the dew dripping from the leaves of the trees. You could smell the fresh scent of wet grass, mixed with the strong scent of old trees.
When you fully relaxed, you began to notice various images flashing before your eyes very quickly, which made no sense to you. Various places you had never seen before, faces of people you didn't know, and sounds you had not heard. After a moment, you were blinded by a very bright light, and the incoherent images gave way to very clear scenes. You found yourself back in your city, walking through streets that seemed even more deserted than usual. It literally seemed to you that the city had died. Until you finally crossed the threshold of large houses, reaching the poorer part of the city. And then you were frozen.
Hundreds of people were dying at the hands of your uncle and his guards. Men fell, trying to defend their families. Women shielded children before they became victims themselves. And the children... Their screams pierced through the omnipresent red of blood. It was all happening because of you. Your own blood was the reason for this slaughter. Anyone who didn't know where you were was considered guilty and mercilessly killed. You tried to stop the guards, but you couldn't. You were invisible, no one could hear you, even though you tried to say something.Â
You tried to block the flying arrows and spears aimed at your people, but everything penetrated you. You could do nothing but watch as innocent people died for you. You knew that your uncle took satisfaction from every person he killed, because he knew exactly that every life taken brought you closer to surrender. He knew perfectly well that your people were the most important thing to you.
You walked through piles of bodies trying to get to the castle to meet your uncle, to surrender. However, before you got there, you were once again blinded by a white light. When you opened your eyes, you were in the throne room. You stood in the middle, and around you were 8 boys, surrounded by guards. You knew them, they were your friends. Everyone who helped you was now imprisoned by your uncle. There was only one person you had never seen before. It was a boy of incredible, but sharp beauty, who was constantly trying to break free from the guards' hands. You looked at your uncle and saw that horrible smile that you hated so much. Then the guards lowered their spears to the height of the boys' stomachs. One smile from your uncle was enough to pierce their bodies. You watched in horror, unable to do anything. A scream escaped your lips so terrifying that everyone gathered turned their attention to you. You were no longer invisible. You fell to your knees, feeling the weight of the whole situation crushing them. You were no longer able to stand up. You watched with tears in your eyes as those who fought for you died. And all you could do was scream, scream in pain and despair. In reality, your body began to shake, and the scream that tore itself from your throat in your vision passed into the real world.
âY/n!â Your agony tore Felix from his meditation.
The boy noticed your rapid breathing, tense muscles and pale face. And worst of all, a scream. A terrifying, air-splitting, agonized scream. You were in tears, clenching your hands tightly on the grass. Your body was twisting in spasms, but you still remained in this horrible world from which you wanted to escape.
âY/n! Wake up! Y/n! Can you hear me?!â Felix shook you with increasing force, but nothing seemed to be able to wake you up. His voice was full of panic, but you remained in a trance.
Your screams immediately called the others. Everyone ran outside, not knowing what was happening.
âWhat about her?!â Seungmin called, kneeling next to you and also trying to wake you up.Â
âI can't wake her up! She came to meditate with me, and after a while something bad started happening to her!â The healer spoke in a desperate voice.
âIf we don't do something soon, we'll bring half the kingdom here!â He tried to shout over IN.
Your voice was getting louder and more emotional. It was soaked in pain that affected everyone who died for you. Pain that was hard to bear. The rest of the guys couldn't believe that someone could make a sound that contained so much pain and despair, a sound so terrifying that goosebumps formed on your body.
âHold her tight!â Han said, pulling a medium-sized knife from his belt. His voice was stern and full of conviction.
Chan and Changbin immediately grabbed you by the arms and legs. You kicked, trying to break free from his grip. Holding you was quite a challenge, but they managed to hold you down long enough for Han to make two precise cuts on your collarbones.Â
Warm, bright red blood flowed from the wounds and ran down your skin, soaking through your clothes. The pain was definitely greater than it should have been with such wounds, but it worked. You gasped for air and opened your eyes, suddenly torn from your trance. You struggled and screamed for a moment longer, not fully recovering from the shock.
"Calm down Y/n, you're out of danger now. We're with you." Jeongin said, kneeling in front of you.
Seeing familiar faces, the faces of your friends safe and sound, you slowly began to calm down. However, your breathing was still unsettled. Felix ran quickly to the cottage to grab fresh bandages, which he put on your wounds, from which fresh blood was still flowing, staining your clothes.
âWhat was that?â Hyunjin asked, who was still afraid to approach you after yesterday's incident.
âIt was a vision. It happens very rarely and not everyone is able to have itâŚY/n saw a potential future.â Han explained, wiping the bloody knife.
âThat⌠That was so horribleâŚâ You said, wiping tears from your cheeks. You were terrified, you don't know if you've ever felt such a huge fear.
Chan knelt down in front of you and looked you straight in the eyes, slightly lifting your chin.
âWhat did you see Y/n? What scared you so much?â He said in a gentle, very tender voice, as if he was afraid that his tone might hurt you.
You swallowed hard, saliva that barely passed through your throat.
âPeople⌠people were dying because of my uncle⌠Men, women, even children⌠everyone who didnât know where I was was considered an accomplice and killed. I couldnât help them even though I wanted to. I tried to do something but I couldnât, I was helpless.â You spoke with a trembling voice, your body shaking with stress.
Each of the boys approached you, even Hyunjin, who had been listening to the whole story anxiously.
âAnd thenâŚâ You started, but stopped, not wanting to remember what happened next in your vision.
âCalm down Y/n it's just a vision, they're not always true.â Felix said, trying to calm you down.
âWe... We were in the castle. You were all there and one boy I don't know. We were surrounded. The guards caught you and then... â You stopped for a moment, keeping everyone in suspense, but it was hard for you to think back to that image. âThe guards speared you. All of you. You were dying before my eyes, and I couldn't do anything about it.â Your voice broke, and your eyes filled with tears again. âI screamed but I couldn't do anything.â
The forest fell silent for a moment, as if no one knew what to do in this situation. Everyone was confused and worried. They knew that it couldn't bode well. Finally, the silence was broken by Han's sigh, who placed a hand on your shoulder.
âY/n do you know what you just saw? It was the future. If we don't stop your uncle, it will happen.â He said, his voice anxious.
Everyone's eyes widened with fear. You were surprised, but also terrified. A vision of the future, and in it their death. It hit everyone like a hard blow they didn't expect.
"Does... Does this mean that we will die?" Seungmin asked very quietly.
"No!!! I won't let that happen! I won't let you get hurt! I'll find my uncle first and kill him. I'm tired of hiding and running away like a defenseless mouse. It's time to fight and win. For you, for my kingdom." You quickly got up from your seat. Your mindset changed almost automatically when you saw the boys' weak faces. You couldn't lose them.
Your sudden outburst of confidence and courage made everyone start looking around at each other, communicating silently. They knew perfectly well what they had to do. Everyone knew that they had no choice and had to fight if they wanted to survive. They had to stop the tyrant before it was too late.
"You can count on all of us Y/n. We will fight by your side until the last drop of blood." Said Changbin, stepping forward of the group.
The rest nodded to him, and your eyes glazed over again, but this time from happiness that you had them with you. You smiled at them sincerely and you all hugged each other as if you had known each other for years.
"I don't want to interrupt this wonderful moment, but I think we need to find another place to hide, because Y/n's scream must have summoned half the kingdom here." Hyunjin said, finally getting a little bolder.
"Oh shit. That's right, everyone grab the most necessary things and let's go." Chan stated.
You didn't have a moment to waste. You had to act quickly. Find a new hideout, make a plan, and start training. Time was running out, and there was still a lot of work ahead of you.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?

Images of the Holy Glade were still pulsing in your mind as you jumped out of bed. The misty landscape, the humid air, and the light seeping through the mighty tree branches - everything seemed so real, as if you were still there. You knew you had been asleep for a few hours, because through the windows of the cottage you could see that the sun was high in the sky.
As soon as you reached the living room you saw your three companions. Felix, creating ointments at a small table, sitting on the floor, IN sharpening his weapon, and Han, who was looking out the window into the distance, as if he knew what you were about to say and was already looking for the direction you had to go.
"Guys!" You called out loudly enough for everyone in the cottage to hear you.
A moment passed for each of the boys to gather in the living room and wait expectantly for you to say what you wanted to say.
"I know where the chalice is." You said confidently, but your confidence quickly ended. âLet's just say I know... I dreamt of this place. The Chalice is in the Sacred Glade and I know what the area looks like, but I have no idea where it is.â
âMaybe try to tell us what you saw in your dream, and we'll try to find this place together.â Seungmin said, pulling out one of the thick books filled with various maps.
Everyone else nodded in agreement. After all, so many people had to know something about this place, especially Felix, who knows the forest like the back of his hand, and Chan, who knows every nook and cranny in the city and village. You explained to the boys what you saw in your dream, although you didn't expect that with so little information you'd be able to find this place. However, Felix, when he heard the entire description of the place, beamed. His eyes lit up, because he knew exactly where this place was.
âI know where it is!â He said happily, giving everyone hope. âAnd to make it even funnier, it's very close to this cottage. You literally have to go down to the water and we'll be there.â
âAre you sure?â IN asked in surprise.
âYes, I went there with my father when we were collecting pearls for the ointment, but I never went inside the cave.â
âWell then, wonderful. No time to waste. Let's go.â You said, standing up abruptly from your chair.
Every boy was eager to go with you, you felt well protected. You had so many people by your side, ready to risk everything they had to regain freedom in their kingdom.
You followed the hazy memories of your dream, letting your intuition guide your every step. Felix in the lead as a guide, he walked with a confident step, on your sides you had Jeongin, Hyunjin, Seungmin and Changbin, and behind you walked Chan and Han. You felt safe, you were glad you had them with you.
You had been walking for some time now, and the landscape around you seemed to change - dense forests gave way to rocky paths, until you finally found yourself in front of a cave. The frosty wind that came from the water cooled your skin, giving you goosebumps.
You hesitantly uncovered the thick bushes that covered the entrance - the cave was dark and damp. You looked inside, but the darkness that reigned there covered everything. You didn't know if the cave was long or short, full of nooks or maybe just straight. Anxiety took over your whole body, you stood frozen, unable to move even a millimeter, but you weren't the only one, others seemed to be terrified too.
Something in your head told you that going in there was a very bad idea, but the other part of you seemed to be screaming, demanding the cup.
"Relax... It's just the magic that glorifies this cave. Its task is to make anyone who tries to enter it feel extremely anxious and give up on going deeper." Han said, trying to calm his emotions with his breath. Even he must have been affected by this ancient magic.
Listening to Jisung's words, you decided that you had to go inside and gain the cup. You had to do it before your uncle did. If he possessed the cup, he would be one step away from becoming immortal, and you couldn't allow that. You took a deep breath and let it out hard, taking the first step towards the center of the cave.
You walked in the darkness, with your hands outstretched in front of you, you walked forward relying entirely on intuition, because your eyesight was of no use in this case. After you don't know how long, you begin to notice a delicate source of light, shining through the cracks in the cave.
"We must be close." Said Jeongin, who was walking centrally behind you.
You agreed with him and quickened your pace. Finally, you reached your destination. In the very center of the cave, on a stone pedestal, rested a chalice. Red-purple flames embraced it, dancing in a rhythmic, almost hypnotic movement, as if they were breathing their own life.
Chan reached for the water sack he kept with him in case of a long expedition and poured the entire contents onto the fire - but instead of extinguishing it, the flames burst even higher, changing color to orange, pink, as if the water was fuel, not salvation. Changbin tried to cover it with sand, but it only spread the fire further, and the color changed again, this time to blue-green. Seungmin watched with wide eyes.
âThis is not an ordinary fire.â He said quietly. âThis is magic.â
You clenched your fists. You knew you had to get it. I focused all my attention on the chalice and before anyone could protest, you stretched your hands towards the flames. Your skin immediately burned, the pain piercing you like a thousand needles, but you didnât back down. You clenched your teeth tightly and with a terrible groan you pulled out the chalice, and the fire immediately went out, as if some ancient ritual had finally been fulfilled.
Your hands stung mercilessly, covered in red, raw burns. You felt as if your hands had literally melted into the golden chalice.
âY/n!â Felix ran up to you, grabbing your wrists to examine your wounds.
The cup fell from your hands and you were kneeling on the ground, flooded with tears. The rest of the boys couldn't believe what you had just done. They stood frozen, looking at you with concern, only Hyunjin remained calm, because he knew that the pain would soon disappear and your hands would be as good as new after a few hours.
"Okay, we have what we came for, now let's go back... This place scares me." Changbin said, putting the cup into the bag he kept at his side.
With the help of Felix and Jeongin, you got up and went back to your hideout. Despite your immense pain, you tried not to show any weakness, although deep down you wanted to cut your hands off.
Even on the way back, none of the boys left your side, although you had the impression that something was wrong with Hyunjin, who was unusually quiet for himself and more clumsy than usual. He kept tripping over protruding roots or not noticing protruding branches. However, you decided to blame it on tiredness. You figured that it must be hard for him to move between the castle and the hideout and pretend to his father that he had no idea where you were.
You managed to get to the cottage quite quickly, and Felix immediately started bandaging your hands. Although only a few hours had passed, the biggest bubbles had disappeared from your hands. Felix looked at you questioningly, but not a single word came out of his mouth. It seemed to you as if he guessed what your body was capable of, but he didn't want to believe it.
He grabbed a very greasy ointment that smelled awful. Your nostrils sting when the smell reaches them, you almost gagged, but Felix told you to get through it. He quickly but gently applied the thick goo to your wounds and bandaged them with a fresh bandage that masked the stench of the medicine. Despite the horrible smell, you had to admit that you felt immediate relief. The ointment cooled and moisturized your hands, allowing you to forget about the burns.
When everything was ready, Seungmin called everyone to the garden where he lit a fire. Changbin and Chan brought a huge barrel of wine that Changbin's grandmother kept in the pantry.
"This is to celebrate getting the goblet. I think a moment of relaxation will be good for everyone." Seungmin said, opening the barrel and pouring the first goblet, which he handed to you.
Everyone agreed with the teacher and you sat down by the fire. Everyone except Hyunjin, who kept a slight distance from you. However, he didn't refuse the wine he was given. You caught him staring at you very intensely a few times, but you decided that there was nothing wrong with it, judging by what you had already been through together.
The next hours passed, and the barrel was slowly running out. Everyone was a bit tipsy, so you decided that it was the perfect time to strengthen the bonds in the team. If you were going to work together, you wanted to know who you would be working with, and the boys would especially need trust. After all, only you knew all of them.
"So... who will be the first to confess something that no one else knows?" You suggested raising your glass.
"Chan talks in his sleep." Seungmin threw out without thinking, taking a sip of the bloody drink.
"Huh?!" Chan was outraged. "How do you know that?"
âYou fell asleep next to me a few times while you were reading books.â The teacher laughed mockingly.
âInteresting⌠Iâve never heard that before, and weâre the ones who share a room.â Changbin added, looking around for something to eat nearby.
The initial uncertainty slowly subsided. You all laughed and started talking about your families, past adventures, and to your surprise, everyone gradually became more open. Even Han and Hyunjin, who were the most distrustful of each other from the very beginning. At first, Han wouldnât leave your side, and his body tensed up every time Hyunjin came even a little closer. Now, both of them were having a great time with the rest of the guys.
You were having such a good time talking that you completely forgot about the time. Han, who had had a bit too much to drink, started mumbling something under his breath and snuggling into one of the pillows you brought to sit on. Changbin had fallen asleep against a wooden pillar, while Felix and Seungmin were having philosophical conversations. Chan struggled to his feet and helped Jeongin move inside.
âYouâŚI think youâre the only one who can still stand on his feet.â He said, catching the limp body of your bodyguard.
âI think I have a strong head.â You said uncertainly, because the truth was that it was hard for you to get really drunk, because your body regenerates faster than a normal personâs.
âI guess so, but go to sleep already. You could use more sleep.â He added, crossing the threshold of the cottage.
You agreed with him. You looked at the rest of the guys and got up from your place to go to sleep. Behind you, you could still hear incoherent conversations and laughter, but you knew that everyone would soon fall asleep where they were sitting. With a smile on your face, you snuggled into your blanket and closed your eyes. You were glad that you all got along well, and that tonight would be one of those evenings you would remember for a long time.
The darkness in the room was thick, almost tangible. Only the pale moonlight broke through the curtains, casting blurred shadows on the walls. The air was heavy, filled with the silence of the night. And thenâa sudden pressure on your lips.
You opened your eyes wide, your breath caught in your throat. Your heart began to pound furiously as you felt a cold blade pressed against your skin. The metallic coldness cut through the heat of your body, and every cell was filled with fear. A masked figure stood before you. You couldn't see a face, only dark eyes, cold and alien. Eyes that had something sinister about them, as if they were looking straight through you, as if you were already dead.
Your body stiffened, but when the figure moved, as the small flame of the candle danced across his skin, you understood. Your heart stopped. It was Hyunjin.
It was impossible.
You knew him, loved him, trusted him... So why was he standing over you with a knife at your throat? Why was his eyes so empty?
The thin line of the blade dug into your skin a little. Your pulse raced, your breath ragged in an unequal fight for survival. Your eyes glazed over, but you didn't look away. You didn't beg. You didn't scream. You didn't ask for mercy. Instead, as soon as you felt his hand loosen its grip on your lips, you whispered:
"Go on." Your voice trembled, but not from fear. From anger. From pain. "Slit my throat. Let me bleed out on this bed. Let my blood splatter all over you. But when I'm gone, there will be no one left who ever loved you."
The words cut through the air like a knife, full of venom, full of desperation. Bitter tears ran down your cheeks, tasting of salt and regret. You looked straight into his eyes, and he...
His hand began to tremble. His whole body trembled. A moment earlier he had looked like a machineâmerciless, unwaveringâbut now? He was cracking. He clenched his teeth, his eyes clouding over. The knife slowly lowered.
"I still remember the way you taste. The way you move. The way you catch your breath before you bite your lips and fight that moan you know drives me crazy." He spoke quietly, his voice cracking at the edges, as if each syllable hurt him more than the last. His hand slipped from the hilt of the knife. Tears began to roll down his cheeks.
You felt your heart clench in your chest. You felt something in the air that you couldn't name. It wasn't just fear. It was agony.
The next second Hyunjin lunged at you, nuzzling his face into your shoulder, shaking like a child.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I'm so fucking sorry." His quiet whisper was heartbreaking. "My father told me if I didn't kill you, he would kill my sister. She's just 8... I love her so much."
And then he fell apart. His body shook with spasmodic sobs, his hands clenching in the material of your shirt. Tears rolled down his face, hot and helpless.
You should have said something. You should have done something. But you felt like you were in a nightmare that you couldn't wake up from. Your hands reached up by themselves, hugged him. And he kept whispering "I'm sorry", as if he wanted those words to turn back time.
After a while, Hyunjin calmed down, and your slow stroking of his back soothed him. But you didn't fall asleep that night. Every shadow on the wall seemed to be lurking for you. Every quiet rustle was like a blade at your throat. Thoughts in your head were swirling like a hurricane, and among them one name.
Han.
You kept remembering what he told you in the forest. Hyunjin's destiny is to kill you. You didn't want to, but after this situation, you started to believe it a little more. You were terrified. You should have run away from your friend, but you couldn't leave him like this. You knew that his sister was the most important thing to him, you knew that he would do anything for her. You knew that you had to help him get her back.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
The next day you were woken up by the gentle rays of sunlight that pierced through the crowns of the huge trees that hid the small cottage. When you opened your eyes, you felt relief. Your wound had stopped bleeding, and you felt almost no pain anymore, only a slight burning sensation remained with larger movements. You raised yourself on your forearms and saw Felix leaning against the back of the armchair. Even though he was sleeping, you could see the tiredness that was written all over his face. You knew that he must have fallen asleep recently, he probably took care of you all night. You were grateful to him for everything, especially since he didn't know you at first, but he helped you.
You took a deep breath, throwing the thick blanket aside, when you put your feet on the cold wooden ground, you heard a loud creaking that immediately woke the blond. Sleepily, he rubbed his eyes and stretched hard, then got up from the armchair and approached you.
"You shouldn't get up yet. A few hours won't be enough for the wound to heal. You should stay in bed for at least 3 more days.â He said, moving your legs back onto the bed.
His hands were very warm, you even had the impression that they were hot compared to your body. You rolled your eyes, being aware that your body regenerates faster than a normal human's, and the wound was healed enough that you could calmly set off on your journey. You had to get to the cliff as soon as possible to meet up with the rest of the boys, who were probably dying of worry.
âHow are you feeling?â He asked slowly, untying your bandage, which was soaked in blood.
âDefinitely better. I have to get ready quickly to go to my friends. They must be terrified and think I died.â You replied, hissing slightly in pain as the dried material tore off your wound.
Lix's expression changed immediately, his eyes widened and his jaw dropped when he noticed such advanced healing progress of the wound.
âHow?... Impossible... Your wound is almost healed... Is this some kind of magic... How?â He started to stutter, looking from the wound to you. He had never seen anything like this before.
âIt's a long story, but let's just say I'm not like all people.â You smiled slightly, then hissed in pain again as Felix tightened the fresh bandage on your thigh.
You slid your legs off the bed and stood up, gritting your teeth, trying to fight the pain that radiates along your entire leg. Slightly limping, you took a few steps around the room. Every movement made you uncomfortable, but you didn't want to show it, because you knew Felix wouldn't let you go towards the cliff.
âAre you really stubborn and you won't let yourself be convinced to stay with me for a few more days and rest?â He asked you a question, but he knew perfectly well what the answer would be.
As he expected, you nodded and started to gather your things. Lix sighed heavily and began to choose various herbs and previously prepared ointments from his elegantly arranged cabinets.
"What are you doing?" You were surprised by his behavior.
"Packing. Can't you see? I won't let you go any further alone. What if the guards come back or your wound reopens? You may not be bleeding now, but you haven't fully healed yet." He replied, tying a knot on the sack he had prepared for himself.
"Thank you, but you don't have to risk yourself for me, and you've done enough for me." You said, tying the belt with the short knives around your other thigh.
âWith all due respect princess, I wonât leave you like this. You havenât fully recovered yet, and itâs my duty as a healer to take care of the sick and injured. Besides, no one knows the forest better than me. I can help you get to the cliff unnoticed.â The blond insisted and put the bag on his back.
âI canât convince you?â The boy nodded without saying anything. âOkay, letâs go then. The sooner we leave the better.â You sighed deeply and headed for the door.
Felix walked close to you, he was watchful as if he was afraid you would fall. At the same time, your hand was still resting on your thigh, ready to quickly grab one of the knives. Your senses were heightened, every rustle, every rustle of leaves made your body tense from stress.
You walked silently, carefully spreading out in search of your uncleâs guards. You were 100% focused on the crossing, while Lix stopped every now and then to pick the herbs he needed that he found along the way. It amused you how he ran up to the trees, crouched down next to them and, taking out a small knife, cut the stems with precision. As if it depended on whether the herbs were suitable for consumption.
Minutes passed, maybe even hours, and you felt as if you weren't getting any closer to the cliff. The closer to the meeting place, the closer to your friends' house, the more you felt that something was wrong. You had a strange feeling that someone was watching you. Your gaze flew from tree to tree, searching even the treetops. Your heart began to beat faster, and anxiety took over your body. Your hand tightened tightly around the leather handle of the knife. At one point, you stopped abruptly, raising your hand to stop the blond.
"What's wrong?" He asked in a whisper, as if he was afraid that the tone of his voice would make her even more stressed.
âSomeone is following us.â You answered just as quietly, looking around the entire forest.
Felix looked behind him but didnât see anything except the shadows of the trees. Before he could say anything, however, you ran towards the thick bushes. Thanks to the training you once received from Jeongin, you knew how to neutralize your opponent. Taking advantage of the moment of surprise, you threw yourself at the mysterious figure, putting one knife in front of his neck and the other in the back so he couldnât move.
âWho are you and why are you following me?!â You shouted, pressing the knife harder to his neck.
âY/n calm down.â The unknown boy said. He tried to stay calm but his voice was shaking.
Y/n, hearing your name, lost your vigilance for a moment and lowered the knives slightly. The stranger took advantage of this and slipped out of her trap. However, before he could escape, you grabbed his hand. Then your knees buckled and your eyes rolled up exposing the whites of your eyes. Felix, seeing your condition, was terrified, you looked like something had possessed you.
As soon as your knees met the wet and cold ground, your eyes blurred and a blinding light appeared in front of you. Then images appeared in front of your eyes - clear even though they seemed unreal
You saw this unknown boy in a luminous form, as if he had been sent straight from the heavens. His eyes shone like stars, blinding you. You don't know why, but you knew immediately who he was. He was your guardian angel. Your dad had told you about them, but you didn't think they were real.
"Y/n..." His voice echoed in your head. "Y/n." You heard it again and woke up. You were in the forest again, Felix was kneeling by you, trying to wake you up somehow.
"Wha...What happened?" You asked, still feeling a little dazed. Your temples were throbbing slightly and you could hear rustling in your ears.
âMy name is Han and I am your guardian angel, but you probably already know that. I came here to warn you about Hyunjin. He has a power you donât understand.â He spoke. âHis destiny is to kill you.â
The words echoed in her mind, but she couldnât accept them. Your eyes widened in surprise when you heard Hyunjinâs name. The words kill and Hyunjin didnât fit together. Not Hyunjin. Not your Hyunjin. You had been together since you were kids. Memories came flooding back â laughter, walks together, promises whispered under the stars. How could he do this to you?
âI donât believe you.â You said quietly, as if you werenât sure of your own words. âHe would never hurt me.â
Han sighed, and something like disappointment appeared in his eyes.
âYou know perfectly well that I canât lie, at least not to you. I wanted you to find out the truth before it was too late.â He said, trying to grab your hand, but you pulled away as soon as you felt his touch on your skin.
"Felix... Let's move on, I don't want to waste my time on some nonsense." You said calmly, although your heart was pounding in your chest like crazy. Your thoughts were mixed, trying to find some sense in Han's words. You wondered if you were supposed to believe in fate, in destiny, in the fact that someone you loved with all your heart could be your executioner.
Felix was shocked, he didn't know what he was looking at and what had actually happened that your behavior had changed so much, but he didn't want to upset you even more. He adjusted his bag on his back and followed you. He looked at Jisung one last time, who stood still for a moment looking in your direction, but after a moment he also followed you, maintaining a safe distance.
Lix guessed who Han was, only from the books he had read. This look was so characteristic, only one being could look like that. A white robe, beautifully decorated with silver threads. His dark hair contrasted perfectly with the white of his clothes. A bright glow spread around him, which only the pure-hearted could see. He did not expect to ever meet a figure of such heavenly origin.
You walked the rest of the way in complete silence, which was interrupted by the screeching of wet grass under your feet. You felt that you were slowly approaching the cliff, as the wind was getting stronger. It blew the strands of your hair that flew out of the loose braid.
"Y/n your leg." Felix stopped you.
You looked down, and your eyes met a bandage soaked in red blood. Your wound opened up again, but the amount of thoughts in your head did not allow you to feel the pain that you should have felt a long time ago.
"It must have opened up when I overpowered Han. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt, it will heal soon. You'll bandage me up once we get there, it'll definitely be more comfortable." You said as if nothing had happened, continuing your journey. You had to get to that cliff as quickly as possible.
"Are you sure? The wound was deep and if it started bleeding just as hard as before, you'd soon lose consciousness." The healer was worried, but he didn't insist when he saw your expression.
You gritted your teeth, completely focused on your goal and you didn't intend to stop for a moment. The journey dragged on endlessly. Each step seemed heavier than the last, and the thick fog wrapped the landscape like a spider's web, hiding everything that could be in front of you. The cool air blew across your face, carrying with it the scent of sea salt and damp earth. But you knew you were close. Something inside you was trembling with impatience, as if sensing that the goal of this journey held something more than just rest.
Finally, after many long minutes of walking, you saw a cliff. Its jagged edges jutted into the sky like the teeth of an ancient monster, and the raging waves crashed against its base, creating white swirls of foam. You looked around, straining your eyes for the cottage. It should be here. It should stand among the rocks, lonely and quiet, and yet... you couldn't see it anywhere.
Han looked at you worriedly. You saw a shadow of contemplation in his eyes. The boy closed his eyelids and took a deep breath, as if trying to focus on something distant, invisible. After a moment, he opened his eyes, and certainty appeared in his gaze.
"There." He said quietly, pointing in the direction.
You followed him, feeling your heartbeat quicken. After a dozen or so steps, the fog began to dissipate, revealing a small cottage hidden in a depression in the terrain. The wooden structure looked old, but solid. Warm lights danced in the windows, as if someone inside had lit them especially for your arrival.
As you crossed the threshold, you were greeted by warm and familiar faces. Everyone was there - including Hyunjin and IN, who had been in constant contact with Bin. You stood in the doorway, watching them. Each of them looked worried, probably wondering if you were even still alive. The moment they saw you, joy shone in their eyes, and the atmosphere was filled with a mixture of relief and concern.
"Finally!" Chan was the first to jump up from his chair, seeming to be the most concerned about your absence.
Behind him, the rest of you ran up to you. They hugged you and made sure you were safe and sound.
"We were so worried we lost you." IN said, grabbing your hand and squeezing it tightly.
"I'm alive, nothing's wrong with me." You said, but Hyunjin's gaze had already wandered to your leg.
"Y/n you're bleeding!" He said, kneeling down next to you. The other boys' gazes immediately flew towards your wound and they were visibly concerned.
"We're here. Can I bandage you now?" Felix asked, emerging from behind the threshold.
The surprise on the faces of the others was almost immediate. Everyone looked at Jisung and Felix uncertainly.
"Aaa...Please meet Felix. Thanks to him I survived, he bandaged my wound and gave me shelter. And the one in white is Han - my guardian angel. You can trust them, I trust them." You said, sitting down at the table and moving your leg forward to make it easier for Lix to access the wound.
Your words relaxed the tense atmosphere a little, but everyone remained vigilant. Everyone was ready to face the potential threat. Felix wordlessly pushed your leg towards him and began carefully untangling the makeshift bandage.
When he exposed the wound, his fingers hesitated over the skin for a moment. Just a short while ago, it had been a deep cut, and now⌠now it looked like it had been healing for days. His eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn't say anything. Instead, as if nothing had happened, he reached for clean bandages and ointments, getting to work with extraordinary skill.
The others watched him in silence, fascinated by how skillfully his hands moved. His fingers deftly wrapped the bandage, confident and precise movements showing his experience.
Hyunjin watched you carefully, knowing perfectly well how much energy you had to unconsciously use up for your body to speed up the healing process. It must have exhausted you, and he wasn't going to let you strain yourself any longer.
"Now Y/n, tell me what happened there." Seungmin said, closing another book with great interest.
However, before you could say anything, Hyunjin interrupted you.
"Enough." His voice brooked no argument, at least when it came to you. âYouâre going to rest.â
You raised your head to protest, but you quickly met his menacing, yet concerned gaze.
âIâm not going to repeat myself.â He added, raising an eyebrow in a clear warning.
You looked at the boys, hoping that one of them would help you, but each of them seemed to support Hyunjinâs words. So you sighed quietly, finally giving in. Changbin immediately stood up and grabbed your arm, helping you up. With a gesture of his hand, he showed you the way.
âCome on, Iâll take you.â He added as you left the room.
The way to the room was short, but every now and then a thought about what Han had told you popped into your head. You didnât want to believe it, Hyunjin couldnât be mad. As usual, he was full of concern. When you got to the room, you noticed that it had been specially prepared for you. It was definitely cleaner than the rest of the house, and there were dark curtains on the windows, hiding you from the rest of the world.
You lay down on the soft bed, but sleep didnât bring you relief. On the contrary - you were consumed by a vision so clear that you almost felt its touch.
Darkness reigned all around, broken only by the flickering glow of flames. You were standing in a place you didn't know, but which seemed disturbingly familiar. The air was filled with the scent of burnt wood and herbs. In the middle of the space, surrounded by dancing tongues of flame, a chalice floated. Its gilded edges gleamed in the light of the flames, and faint symbols seemed to tremble on its surface.
You reached out to touch it, but before you got close enough, the flames flared brighter, forcing you to step back. A whisper sounded in your head - quiet, yet piercing.
"Find me..."
You opened your eyes abruptly, feeling cold sweat running down your neck. Your heart was pounding in your chest.
"What was that? A dream... a warning, or maybe a request." Your head was once again cluttered with a million different thoughts that you had to pass on to others.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
The darkness of the night slowly receded as the last candles burned out on the table. Each of you sat hunched over books and scrolls, staring at the ornate letters and ancient symbols. Seungmin's library was impressive, full of mysterious manuscripts, old maps, and magical books, but neither you nor anyone else in the group had found even the slightest mention of the chalice you were looking for. Hours passed and the pages turned silently, but the answers you were hoping for were still beyond your reach. You looked at your notes and the drawings you had previously sketched from memory.Â
You had a clear image of the chalice in your head, every detail familiar to you - the decorations, the shape, the inscriptions. But just knowing what it looked like wasn't enough when no one knew its location. Finally, as the first rays of sunlight began to pour into the room, you realized that you had spent the entire night searching for it in vain, losing precious hours of sleep. You sighed heavily, stretched your back and slowly stood up from the armchair, feeling the tiredness settle on your shoulders like a heavy coat. With hope in your heart, you headed to the living room, hoping that maybe someone had managed to find a clue. However, their faces spoke for themselves. Seungmin was leaning against the wall, with obvious tiredness in his eyes, and Chan was nodding off over an open book.
âReally, no one managed to find anything? So many books and nothing?â You asked, not hiding the disappointment in your voice.
Chan raised his sleepy gaze at you and shook his head. Each of them looked exhausted. They had spent that night searching for you, sacrificing their sleep to try to discover even the smallest trace.
âI thought everyone could use an extra boost of energy, so I made breakfast.â Changbin spoke up, coming out of the kitchen with a plate full of fried eggs and fresh vegetables that he had picked from Seungminâs small garden.
The aromatic scents quickly filled the room, and you felt your mouth water. You sat down at the table together and began to eat, the food disappearing quickly, dispelling your gloomy thoughts for a moment. Conversations were quiet, interrupted only by the sound of cutlery clinking against plates. When you finished your meal, you noticed something strange out of the corner of your eye - the boy was peering through the window, glancing inside with obvious interest. You blinked, and the figure disappeared as if it was just an illusion. You held your breath, wondering if fatigue was starting to play tricks on you, but you felt anxiety in the back of your mind. This moment was haunting you.
As the day was finally brightening, you decided you had to act quickly. You called everyone together and told them what you had seen.
"Someone was watching us." You said, your voice steady, but you were worried inside. "I don't know if it was a hallucination, but we can't ignore it. We have to move and find a new place before it's too late."
Changbin nodded, his eyes becoming watchful.
âMy grandma's house, outside the city, is empty and no one has been there for years. This could be our chance to find a safe haven. It's located by a large cliff, so no one goes there."
"But it's far." Seungmin interjected. "Going through the forest will be risky."
"I know, but we have to take the risk." You replied. "This is our only option for now."
When you decided together that you had to move, everyone started packing all the most necessary things. You didn't want to have unnecessary luggage that would slow you down. You had to get to the cliff as soon as possible.
The sun was rising higher and higher as the four of you left the house, making your way through the city streets and then entering the dark forest. Every step in the forest was quiet and careful, every rustle gave you shivers. When you reached the edge of the clearing, you felt the tension between you grow.
"Ready?" You asked, knowing that this was the moment that would decide your fate. "Remember, if we get separated, we meet at the cliff."
The three boys nodded, putting scarves on their faces, each ready for a potential fight. You set off, quietly and quickly, and the clearing stretched out before you like a treacherous trap. In the distance, in the shadow of the trees, you saw the boy again, the same one you saw in front of the house. Your heart pounded, but you knew that you couldn't stop now.
The forest surrounding you grew thicker, its darkness seeming to swallow your every step. Tall trees covered the sky, creating a green canopy above you. Suddenly, something caught your attention. You raised your hand, signaling for everyone to stop. You heard it before the rest could react - a rustling of leaves that didn't sound natural. You turned around abruptly, your eyes widening in fear.
"Uncle's guards." You whispered.
At the same moment, several men jumped out of the shadows, dressed in dark cloaks, weapons in their hands. There were too many of them to fight.
"Split up!" Chan shouted, in a final desperate gesture.
A mad escape began. Without looking back, you ran into the forest, trying not to lose sight of Seungmin. His silhouette loomed between the trees, but the guards were getting closer. At some point you heard a dull thud behind you - someone must have fallen.
You stopped for a split second, your mind struggling with the decision whether to turn back or keep running. You didn't know if it was Chan or Changbin. However, you remembered your agreement - not to stop no matter what happened. You turned around again, ready to run, but then you lost sight of Seungmin.
You were left alone. Your breathing quickened and your heart was beating like crazy. You had to fight for survival. Your eyes widened as you looked around, looking for an exit. You knew that if you panicked now, the guards would catch you quickly. There was silence in the forest, broken only by your rapid breathing. Finally, you noticed a narrow path, hidden behind dense bushes. You ran in that direction, although you felt that danger was still chasing you.
Suddenly you heard a whistle. An arrow cut through the air, and a moment later you felt a sharp pain piercing your leg. You screamed and fell, losing ground under your feet. The arrow lodged in your thigh, and your body collapsed onto the damp ground, next to the ivy-covered stones. The only thing you were sure of was that the shot was accidental, because your uncle's warriors were excellent marksmen and if they had been aiming at you, you would have been dead long ago. So you had a chance to hide and hide somehow, because they didn't know your location.
Your heart pounded in your chest and the world around you slowed down. Your thoughts were spinning as you tried to stand up, but your leg wouldn't obey you. The guards would find you eventually, and very quickly, you could hear their shouts emerging from behind the trees. You clung to the stone wall, expecting it to be the end. But instead of solid rock, your hand found something else - emptiness. You flew through the ivy, which turned out to be a curtain, and behind it was a hidden passage. With the last of your strength, you pulled your body deeper and fell into the darkness, surrounded by the smell of damp and earth.
After a moment, you reached a small clearing. Every step hurt you, and blood slowly flowed from the wound the arrow had pierced, leaving you weaker with each passing moment. Your breathing became heavier, your body was refusing to obey more and more, but when you lifted your head, your eyes met a boy whose appearance took your breath away.
He crouched among the flowers and herbs, picking them as easily as if he were part of the forest. His skin, almost perfect, gleamed in the sunlight, and his long blond hair flowed down his face, covering his eyes. He was dressed only in a skimpy, white robe that seemed to only emphasize his wild nature. He looked like an apparition - an ephemeral, almost magical figure that could dissolve if you blinked. His gaze, lively and full of anxiety, stopped at you, and in his eyes you saw something more than just surprise. He seemed to be torn between the desire to escape and a sense of duty. You looked at each other in surprise, not expecting to meet anyone in the hidden clearing.
Finally, you weakly whispered:
"Help me, please." Then you fell to the ground, feeling the last of your strength leaving you. The pain in your leg was becoming unbearable, and the arrow that was stuck there prevented you from healing yourself. From a distance, you heard the shouts of the guards, getting closer with every passing moment. Your heart sank â you knew you didnât have much time.
The boy, although initially surprised, quickly came to his senses. He stood up, running towards you with extraordinary grace. When he got closer, you could see more details. His face was full of delicate, almost ethereal features, decorated with golden freckles that sparkled like specks of dust. His eyes were deep blue, as if the sky itself had caught his gaze. Up close, he looked even more unreal.
âCan you walk?â He asked, his voice deep and confident. It didnât match his appearance at all. You would say that his voice was almost demonic, and he looked more angelic.
You shook your head, feeling that your body was ceasing to react. Blood didnât stop flowing from your wound. With difficulty, you leaned against a nearby tree.
âTheyâre close.â You whispered, hearing the shouts of the guards getting louder and louder.
âIâll get you out of here.â He assured you, leaning down to gently lift you into his arms. He did it with surprising ease, as if your weight was no challenge for him.
You set off through the forest, avoiding branches and bushes, but you could feel your world becoming increasingly blurry. The loss of blood was making you lose consciousness.
âDonât you dare die on me.â He whispered through clenched teeth, quickening his pace.
You felt your body sink, as if with each step you were moving further away from reality. You finally reached his hut, hidden in the thicket of trees. The hut was modest, built of stone and wood, almost unnoticeable among the plants surrounding it. The boy laid you gently on the bed, which was covered with a blanket woven from natural fibers. His movements were now full of precision, although you could see his hands shaking slightly. He pulled the arrow out of your leg, and you stifled a scream as pain pierced you like a hot blade. He knew exactly what he had to do for you to survive.
"It'll pass soon." He said in a soothing tone, reaching for the ointments and herbs.
He created them with such skill that you had no doubt he had to be a healer. His hands moved with incredible dexterity as he applied the ointment to your wound, which immediately brought relief.
"What are these... herbs?" You whispered weakly, trying to understand what was happening.
"Don't ask now. The important thing is that it works." He replied quickly, tying a bandage soaked in a strongly scented liquid.
When he was done, he reached for a small box from the cabinet, pulling out a small, blue ball.
"Chew on this." He said, putting it in your mouth.
You looked at him uncertainly, not knowing what it was.
"Take it easy, this should ease your pain." He said, seeing your hesitation and smiled at you.
His smile was very sincere, and you even had the impression that only this smile healed part of your wound. You decided to trust his innocent appearance. You opened your mouth slightly, and he slipped the ball into your mouth. You immediately felt the taste of patience on your tongue and instinctively wanted to spit out the unpalatable substances.
"I know it's unpleasant, but you have to swallow it. It'll help you." He spoke as your eyes glazed over with tears. With effort, you swallowed the medicine, and the pain slowly subsided, replaced by a blissful, almost numbing feeling.
The boy sat down next to you, watching over your condition. His face was tense, full of concern, as if he was constantly afraid that he would lose you forever in a moment.
"You'll survive." He whispered, looking at your paleness, although he said it more to himself, as if he promised himself that he wouldn't let you die.
Thanks to his help, you were able to rest for a while, but your thoughts were constantly occupied by your friends. What was happening to them? Are they even alive? Are they worried about you? Have they reached shelter? You couldn't stop asking yourself these questions in your mind.
You felt the medicines start to work quickly, and your powers very slowly began to close the wound. Sometimes you regret that in situations like this you couldn't heal yourself as quickly as you healed others.
âExcuse me, where are my manners? I didn't ask what my savior's name was. â You said, slightly rising on your shoulders.
The blond boy looked at you with his big, curious eyes. Then he gave you a sincere smile, lighting up his face.
âI'm Felix. Nice to meet you... Will you tell me your name? â His low, but warm voice tickled a certain part of your brain again.
âI'm Y/n.â You replied, and then his facial expression changed completely.
His eyes widened in surprise, and his jaw dropped involuntarily. However, he quickly shook himself out of this state.
âPrincess Y/n? I apologize for my lack of respect, your highness.â He got embarrassed and immediately started to bow to you, almost falling to his knees in front of you.
âY/n, just Y/n. I should be the one bowing to you in gratitude for your help. " You said, smiling, slightly bowing your head.
"Y/n, it's an honor to meet you. I've heard so much about you from my father, but I've never had the chance to go to the city to actually meet you... All the more reason for you to rest. I'll take a nap, no one will threaten you here. My cottage is hidden in the middle of the forest, in a part where no one ventures. " You agreed with a nod, you didn't hide the fact that you were very tired.Â
This whole situation had exhausted you, and your power that was trying to heal you was using up the last of your energy. Before you knew it, you closed your eyes and fell into a deep sleep, forgetting about all the things that were troubling you. You don't know why, but you felt safe with Felix, as if a soothing aura flowed from him.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
In the morning, you woke up to the sun shining on your cheeks, which turned light pink. You rubbed the sleep from your eyes and it took you a moment to realize that you were lying on Seungmin's chest, wrapped in his arm. The boy was still sleeping, and his chest was rising and falling evenly.
The peace on his face fascinated you. His cheeks were slightly puffy, but you thought it made him look more attractive. The longer you looked at him, the more you wanted to smile.
Suddenly, Hyunjin entered the room, surprise but also slight jealousy appeared on his face when he saw you hugging Min. You immediately got out of bed, followed closely by your teacher, who was sleep-deprived.
âY/n I found out what was written in the book.â Hyunjin's face was slightly pale, and there were dark circles under his eyes. He must have spent the whole night deciphering it.
His words made you very curious. You decided to gather everyone and have a mini meeting with the five of you. You all sat down together in Seungmin's living room and as if on cue, you looked at Hyunjin, waiting for an answer.
âI managed to read that a special cup is needed for the ritual your uncle wants to perform.â The boy started, sitting comfortably on the couch.
âGreat, now we just need to find this cup. Show us the drawing and we will look for it and we can destroy it.â Everyone agreed with Changbin's words. Everyone except Hyunjin, who stayed silent.
âIs something wrong Jinnie?â You looked at him, slightly raising an eyebrow in surprise.
âAnd here comes the problem. No one knows what this cup looks like, except the person with heavenly powerâŚOnly you Y/n know what it looks like. Do you remember any cup or something that comes to mind when we talk about cups? â His voice was calm, full of hope that you would know something.
Everyone's eyes were on you, but you knew nothing about any cups. You even close your eyes, trying to remember something, but nothing comes to your mind. You had the impression that your head was empty, you literally had no thoughts in it.
âHow am I supposed to know this? I don't remember anything that even remotely resembles an ancient chalice. â You felt sad, feeling that you had let the rest down. They helped you so much, and you couldn't remember what the fucking cup looked like that you needed so much right now.
âDon't worry, y/n, you'll remember something eventually, and until then, let's figure out what's best to do to defeat your uncle. â IN patted your shoulder lightly, reassuring you.Â
You were glad that the boys were so calm, their behavior soothed your nerves and reassured you. You all made breakfast together, which strengthened the bond between you. Your friends already trusted Changbin a little more and weren't as suspicious of him.
After breakfast, you brainstormed ideas for the next steps in your plan to stop your uncle. You came up with the idea that IN and Hyunjin would return to the palace again to keep you informed of the next actions of your uncle and his soldiers, and you, along with Changbin and Seungmin, would stay here and continue trying to figure out what this chalice looked like.
Around 12 o'clock, only the three of you were left at home and you were taking care of yourself, while you were clearing the dust from the upper shelves in the room, suddenly it dawned on you and you remembered that when you were studying and starting to get bored, you were sketching some kind of goblets in your notebooks.
You went to the garden where Changbin was practicing. When he saw you, he immediately stopped doing everything and leaned against the table where you sat down. At the same moment, Seungmin, who was scouting the city, ran into the house.
Barely catching his breath, he leaned over the table. His face shows that he had no good news. He brushed his brown hair from his forehead, took a few more gasping breaths, and sat down at the table.
â Y/n, news of your magical power spreads very quickly throughout the city. More and more people want your head. You have to take care of yourself. â His voice trembled slightly with fear.
âWell, we have a problem because I remembered what the cup looks like. I drew it when I was bored at school." Seungmin's gaze changed, lightning flashed from his eyes, after all, you had insulted his teachings. âI have to go there and get the notebooks back before they fall into unwanted hands.â You were confident in your words, there was not an ounce of hesitation in your voice.
âWe'll go with you. â Changbin said, straightening up.
"NO! I'll go alone. I won't put you at risk anymore. Besides, I'll be less conspicuous if I go alone. I promise you I will be back soon.â You were sure of what you were saying, but the boys weren't happy and immediately started complaining. âYou will stay here and wait for information from Hyunjin. It's an order." Your voice was strong, you couldn't remember the last time you expressed yourself like that.
The boys still weren't convinced and didn't want to let you go. You were angry because they treated you like a defenseless girl who couldn't take care of herself. Offended, you went to the room, followed by Changbin. He was like your bodyguard who wouldn't let you set foot outside the threshold of this house.
You were locked in your room, wondering how to get the drawings. Every now and then the door would open and one of the guys would check if you needed anything. You were quietly getting ready for your trip to school. You had to sneak out somehow and go get your notebooks as quickly as possible.
As soon as the sun began to set, you fastened your small daggers onto your belt and silently jumped out of the window. You went to school under the cover of the shadows. You hadn't been here for a long time, and the beautiful smell of wood irritated your nostrils. Before your uncle decided that he would keep you in the palace, you had already made beautiful memories of this place.
The school hasn't changed at all, everything remains the same as the last time you were here. Every hall, every room, literally everything, was the same as before.
You were walking through the deserted halls when you heard a loud noise behind you. You turned around but saw no one behind you. Your heart was pounding like it was going to jump out of your chest. You began to wonder more and more whether you had made the right choice in coming here alone.
You turned back to go back to your room. However, in front of you, you saw a man dressed in black, with an eye patch covering his eye. The man grabbed you in his strong arms and covered your mouth so you couldn't call for help. You kicked and thrashed, trying to get away, but the stranger had a big advantage over you.
âNobody will save you, so you might as well give up now,â the hunter said, holding you even tighter.
You felt your ribs being crushed and the air slowly leaving your lungs. His gaze was cold and merciless, and the moment of doubt in your heart turned into determination. You had to fight, you had to break free.
Taking advantage of the man's slight distraction, you stepped hard on his foot and then quickly bit the hunter's hand, surprising him enough that he let go of you momentarily, giving you a chance to escape. You took off running and ran as fast as you could to your old classroom. You slammed the door shut and started searching the room for your notebooks.
The air in your lungs stung more and more, your heart pounding. You kept hearing new sounds of doors breaking, quickly approaching you. You thoughtlessly scattered all the books until you finally found the right notebooks. There were beautiful drawings of a golden, gifted chalice on them. You grabbed them and wanted to run away from the room. That's when you realized you were trapped, the sounds of rooms being destroyed were getting louder.
Suddenly you heard a noise coming from the room you were in. You looked around the room and saw Chan, your classmate, whom you were a little afraid of. The boy emerged from a secret passage you've never even heard of.
His silhouette in the dim light looked menacing, but at the same time like salvation. The boy approached you carefully, holding what looked like handmade knives in his hand. The boy held out his hand to you, wanting you to run away with him.
"How do I know I can trust you?" You asked warily, looking at him, your heart still racing from the excess of emotion and fear.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are." Footsteps sounded from behind the door, getting closer and closer, making you feel the dread rapidly rising inside of you.
"You'll have to trust me this time. You have no other choice anyway." Chan replied, his voice sounded deep but you could hear some concern in it. He looked at you with stoic calm, and his eyes seemed to have hidden deep experiences.
Having no other better option, you decided to trust Chan. Together you headed towards the secret exit. Suddenly, there was the sound of a door breaking behind you, making you jump in panic and grab Chan's hand. He just looked at you in surprise, but stayed calm, leading you further in the darkness until you reached a safe place.
You were shocked at how quickly everything happened. There was still a throbbing feeling of fear, but deep inside you were grateful to Chan for his help.
âWell, your highness, you are famous. I heard there's a huge price for your head." He spoke nonchalantly, looking at your still joined hands.
You quickly disconnected them and took a few steps away from him.
âBut your highness, there is nothing to fear. I'm on your side.â
You looked at him uncertainly. âCall me Y/n, just y/n.â You were overcome with various emotions, you didn't know what to think about him or whether to trust him 100%.
âI have to go back. Thank you again for your help. I can handle it on my own.â You bowed slightly and headed towards Min's house.
âYou don't trust me that much?â Chan grabbed your hand and turned you towards him. âBut I helped you. What if they come back and try to kill you again? How can a tiny and fragile creature like you cope?â He questioned without letting go of your hand.
You didn't know what to think about this whole situation. Chan scared you, but on the other hand he intrigued you. There was something about him that drew you to him. Even though before, when you were classmates, he was someone you respected, even though you were the heir to the throne. Chan was a well-built, mysterious boy with whom you had never been able to develop much of a relationship, but you had always wanted to.
You shook his hand and huffed proudly and continued on your way. A wide hood covered your face, adding to the mystery. Thanks to it, no one could recognize your invisible face.
You walked slowly through the narrow but beautiful streets, enjoying the nature that was on your side. The light rays created large darkened spots for you to travel through.
To confuse potential enemies, just in case, you decided to take a different, longer route. You didn't want to cause any unwanted behavior to Seungmin.
You were sneaking through one of the narrower alleys when you suddenly saw a masked figure in front of you. You stopped, your heart racing again. You reached into your belt for two daggers.
You stood ready to fight. Your heart was beating fast and your hands were gripping the solid handles of your knives. There was a look of concentration on your face, covering up your immense fear. An unknown man, his face hidden by a mask, approached you with a disturbing confidence.
You knew you had no other choice. You had to defend yourself, even if it meant fighting with knives. Deep inside you felt that it would be a difficult fight that could end tragically for either side. The man was close enough to you that you could see the light reflecting off the shiny metal.
Without a word, you charged at each other, absorbing yourself in the dark choreography of the confrontation. The sound of metal clashing filled the space as sparks danced around you like stars in the night sky. You acted on instinct, dodging punches and resisting your opponent. You finally started to appreciate your morning workouts with Jeongin. Everything he taught you was very useful now.
But even with this knowledge, you weren't experienced enough to easily stand up to a stranger. Suddenly, in one lightning-fast movement, the stranger grabbed your wrist and twisted it. One of the daggers flew from your hand.
You cursed in pain as you felt the cold of the blade cutting through your skin. It seemed that the fight was about to end with your defeat. But then, out of the darkness, a shadow appeared.
It was Chan. Without hesitation, he leapt into action, slamming himself between you and the stranger. His speed and decisiveness surprised the attacker, who was stripped of his weapon and knocked to the ground. You were very impressed with Chan's skills.
Before anything could happen, before the stranger could get up from the ground, Chan was by your side again, holding you tightly and protecting you from further danger.Â
âAre you okay?â Chan asked, looking at you with concern in his eyes.
However, you didn't have time to say anything because you had to be on full alert again because the attacker stood up and charged at you. Chan grabbed the last dagger that was attached to your belt and pointed it at your attacker.
Before you knew it, warm blood splattered your face. The stranger fell to the ground, holding his neck. You froze in place, watching him bleed out. The stain of dark red blood spread more and more across the sandy ground. You weren't able to move, as if you were tied to one place.
âY/n! Y/n! Y/n!â Only Chan's screams woke you up from your shock. âWe have to run.â He brought your hands together again and you ran as far away from the scene as possible.
You ran until you reached the familiar area of Seungmin's house. Then Chan stopped you to get some rest and make sure everything was fine with you. Your breathing was heavy, but the adrenaline pumping through your veins kept you from feeling tired.
Despite everything, you were very shaken, you had never had such a close encounter with murder. The drops of blood were slowly starting to dry on your face. You were terrified. You looked at Chan, who remained stoic.
Finally, Chan moved closer to you, wiping the blood from your mouth with his thumb. You felt like you were in a movie, your heart skipped a beat. The wind blew through your hair, time slowed down, and Chan's silhouette was the only thing you could see now. His face, which was also covered in blood, intrigued you. His features weren't as delicate as Hyunjin's, but you felt mesmerizing.
His delicate yet firm skin touched your soft lips. You swallowed loudly, shifting your gaze upwards. Now you were looking into his beautiful dark eyes. You wondered if you felt this way because he saved your life, or maybe there was another reason.
âWill you trust me now? I saved your life for the second time. I'm on your side. â His voice wasn't as dry as you thought it was before. Now the dark and mysterious figure you thought Chan was turned into a quite nice and caring boy.
âI have to go back to Seungmin. â You snapped out of your trance and stood up. You took a few steps before turning to Chan. âAre you coming or should I wait for you? â You laughed lightly.
Chan also stood up with a big smile on his face and headed to your teacher's house. For the rest of the journey, the boy didn't let go of the daggers in his hands and never left your side.
You finally reached Seungmin. The two who were left in the house ran up to you, shouting and complaining that you had sneaked out alone. It was only when they saw you covered in blood that their body language changed. They were scared, they immediately analyzed your entire body looking for any serious wounds.
âDon't tell me all that blood is yours. â Changbin searched your body thoroughly.
âDon't worry, I'm fine. All thanks to Chan. â After these words, Chan emerged from behind you.
Seungmin and Chan greeted each other, after all, they were in contact with each other all the time at school, and Changbin was still watching you carefully. Looking through your hands, he found the wound that the stranger had given you. Thanks to your skills, the wound stopped bleeding, but it still did not heal.
Bin quickly grabbed a clean piece of cloth and soaked it in water. As soon as he touched your hand, you hissed in pain. The wound might not be deep, but it was painful, more than you expected.
The boy pursed his lips and began to gently blow on your wound. Cold air wrapped around your hand, bringing the longed-for relief that could be seen on your face.
âWash yourself from the blood. â Seungmin said, handing you a towel.
Without a word, you grabbed a piece of cloth and went to the bathroom to freshen up. The water in the large tub was rather cool, but you gritted your teeth and bathed. Shivers ran throughout your body, but it was a pleasant feeling. You took some water in your hands and washed your face with it, washing away the dried blood.
You don't know how long you spent in the bathtub, but you didn't feel the cold anymore and you immersed yourself completely, holding your breath. The water drowned out the noise coming from outside, and all your thoughts finally came to you. Your mind was confused, but you had to pull yourself together if you were going to defeat your uncle. There would be more and more situations like this, and you knew it.
As the lack of air began to sting your chest, you emerged, taking a deep breath. You washed your body once again and got out of the cold water. You immediately felt the temperature change to a pleasantly warm one. You dried yourself off, tied a towel around you and went out to the living room where the three of them were sitting.
The boys' eyes immediately turned to you and you could have sworn that Chan's jaw dropped.
âYâŚY/nâŚOh wowâŚWhy are you only wearing a towel?â Changbin began, scanning you with his eyes.
âMy clothes are bloody and I have nothing to wear. So I thought maybe you, Seungmin, could lend me something of yours. â You turned to your teacher.
âYe⌠Yes. â It took a moment for the boy to realize what you were saying and he ran to the room to get some clothes.
After a while he came back, giving you your clothes. You accepted them and went to the bathroom to put them on. They were too big but very comfortable. You buried your nose in the sleeve of your shirt, inhaling Seungmin's beautiful scent. You had him so close to you and it reminded you of last night when you cuddled up to him. You smiled stupidly at the memory and went to the other three.
Together you had to decide what to do next with the mission to overthrow your uncle. Chan joined your team at the right time, strengthening it perfectly. He could be very helpful for the future plan.
The next thing you had to do was find the golden chalice you were painting. But you didn't know where to start, the cup could be anywhere. You knew it would be a sleepless night for all of you.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
After eating delicious food, you helped clean up and went to the bedroom with Changbin. You sat down on the bed and the boy was on the ground opposite you. Even though you had just met him, you felt like you had known him for years. The boy was nice, affectionate and funny, you had a great time talking to him, as if you had no secrets.
You were happy that he didn't treat you like a princess, but like an ordinary person, just like you asked. You sat there and got completely lost in the conversation. You completely lost track of time and only when the silver rays of the moon illuminated your face did you remember about the appointment.
You jumped out of bed and started getting ready in a hurry. Changbin's face showed surprise as you stopped mid-sentence.
âY/n, is something wrong? Did I say something tactless?â He got confused as he handed you your backpack.
Only then did you stop for a moment and smile slightly because you felt stupid when you realised what it looked like.
âOh no, no. I really enjoyed talking to you, but I forgot something very important. I have to go to a place quickly.â You scratched your neck awkwardly and were about to leave the room when Changbin stood in your way.
"I'm going with you. I won't let you go alone after seeing what those guards are capable of.â His tone was serious, just like his expression.
"No no no. It's too dangerous and you've already done so much for me. I couldn't ask you for another favor.â
âYou don't have to ask for anything. I volunteer to help. I'm in your debt anyway for saving my mother. Now let's go, I saw you were in a hurry.â He grabbed your wrist and pulled you towards the window you had climbed out of so as not to wake up his family.
Under the cover of darkness, you hid between the buildings, carefully looking around the village for guards. The cold air blew through your hair as you climbed a tree to estimate the distance to the old mill. Fortunately, the meeting point was nearby and you only had to walk past a few old cottages.
After a while you found yourself near the mill. You walked around it in a hurry, but you didn't see any signs of Hyunjin.
"Iâm late." You plopped down against an old tree trunk and dug your fingers into your backpack.
Changbin slowly walked over to you and placed his hand on your shoulder. His touch made you grip your backpack tighter and bring you back to your clear thinking.
âI have to go to Hyunjin's castle. He's definitely back there.â You announced, looking up at the boy.
âDon't you think it's stupid to go to a place where everyone wants to kill you?â He advised you against it, but you could hear the slight hesitation in his voice, as if he knew you would do whatever you wanted anyway.
And that's exactly what happened. You snorted slightly and stood up from the stump. Without waiting for Bin, you went to the palace. You didn't encounter any obstacles on your way back to the village. However, the first major obstacle appeared right at the entrance to the wealthy city.
You walked calmly, still hidden in the shadows of the buildings, but a group of guards emerged from around the corner. You quickly grabbed the boy's hand and dragged him to a relatively safe place. You both crouched next to a large cart drawn by white horses. Despite the late hour, the noise of the guards milling around could be heard clearly enough for you to understand what they were talking about.
You managed to hear important information about your uncle. You didn't expect things to get so complicated.
"Stay here. I'll go there alone, it'll be safer.â You said and were about to get up but Changbin stopped you.
âI won't let you go there alone.â His grip didn't loosen even for a moment.
âBinnie, I don't mean to be rude, but you're too conspicuous. It'll be safer if I go alone. If I don't come back to you before the sun comes up, then run away to your family. I promise I'll come back.â Changbin hesitantly let go of your hand and before he could say anything, you disappeared into the shadows of the streets.
Your heart pounded with every careful step you took. The closer you got to the large castle, the colder the air seemed to become and the number of guards kept increasing. You were terrified, but the adrenaline pumping through your veins encouraged you and pushed you forward.
You finally made it to the castle. You noticed that the window to Hyunjin's room was open, as if he was waiting for you. You made sure there were no guards nearby and started climbing the tall tree.
From a distance, you noticed guards approaching the castle and wanted to speed up, but your foot caught on an old branch. You almost fell, but you managed to catch the branches above you. You bit your lip hard to keep from making a single sound. You felt a metallic taste in your mouth, but you didn't stop pulling yourself up, you wanted to have the ground under your feet again.
Without thinking too much, you quickly jumped into Hyunjin's room, you wanted to avoid the guards. You got up from the floor and looked up, that's when you saw them. Your best friends were sitting at the desk, analyzing the book. Your arrival distracted them from their task, and the sight of you surprised them. They looked at you, not knowing if you were real or just a figment of their imagination. After all, no one would be thoughtless enough to rush into a castle full of guards.
âGod, boys, I'm so glad to see you safe and sound. I'm sorry I didn't show up on time, but I had an interesting adventure.â You broke the bottomless silence filling the room.
Your voice seemed to wash away all the spells from the boys and at the same time they rushed into your arms, hugging you tightly. Their warmth warmed you immediately and you snuggled into them, digging your fingers into their backs. You didn't want to let them go, you only had them, you couldn't lose them.
âYou can't come back there. They're waiting.â This wonderful but short moment was interrupted by IN's concerned voice.
Only then did you move away from them and the danger you would have to face hit you. You had to come up with a plan quickly and find a place for you to hide, but first you had to figure out the ritual in the book.
You sat down at your desk and looked at the old book. All the signs started to get mixed up on the pages for you. You rubbed your eyes, thinking it was because you were tired, but it didn't help. The signs swirled around, creating sentences you couldn't understand. You asked Hyunjin to give you the paper and started writing down the sequence you saw.
Only then did you see a certain connection and understand that the ritual was written in a code. You were about to start untying it when IN heard voices coming from behind the door. Your heart was beating fast, you knew you would be caught if you stayed a moment longer.
You quickly hid under the bed, you knew it wasn't a very good idea, but it was all you could think of at that moment. Hyunjin put the book away again and sat by the window, looking out for the stars, just like he did every night.
The door to the room opened with a bang and Hyunjin's father entered. He was visibly upset and irritated. You held your breath as he sat on the bed, you could clearly see his leather shoes.
âDid you guys find out anything? The princess is hiding well and we couldn't find her today. Tomorrow morning we will start searching in the forest where the young girl was seen.â His voice was hoarse with anger.
âWe didn't see her and she didn't come to either of us, but I'm pretty sure she went into the forest. When her father was still alive, she often went there.â The memory of your deceased father pained you, especially in those terrible times when you had to fight not only for your kingdom, but also for your life.
âI'm glad you're on our side. This girl pisses me off, she's always had problems. As soon as I find her, I will personally make sure that she dies in terrible agony.â Your heart skipped a beat when you heard about Hyunjin's father's plans, you hadn't been so scared in a long time.
The man talked to the two for a while about less important business and left the room. You quickly scrambled out from under the bed, your eyes glazed over. You were terrified but you couldn't give up now, you had to stop your uncle.
âY/n you need to get away from here and as far away as possible. Go to the next town, it will be safest there for now. Do you have any idea where you can hide there?â I.N asked, still standing by the door, listening every now and then to make sure no one was approaching.
âThere's only one person I can think of, Seungmin. He always helped me when I had a bad day and he hates my uncle as much as I do. In the morning, when the guards are busy searching for the forest, I will go to him.â Before the boys could ask you any more questions, you jumped out the window and made your way back to Changbin, who was waiting impatiently for you.
A stone fell from his heart when he saw you, safe and sound, carefully laying next to him. His eyes were filled with concern and his expression spoke a thousand words. Without words, he moved closer to you and hugged you, as if he was afraid that you would disappear if he just breathed too hard. Even though you knew each other for a very short time, the boy cared about you.
âAre you okay?â He asked and, without waiting for an answer, he checked your body thoroughly, as if he wanted to make sure that not even a single hair had fallen from your head.
You assured him that you were sure everything was fine and you headed back to Bin's house. On the way, you told him about the plan you came up with. Once you arrived, you slipped through the window again.
Changbin made sure your bed was ready and for himself, he took out a thin blanket from the closet and one pillow, which he placed on the ground right next to the bed. He looked at you for a moment and pulled out a gray T-shirt from the wrapped scarf.
âYou can change into this, it will definitely be more comfortable than what you're wearing. I'll turn around so you can change, call me when I can turn back." He said, handing you the clothes.
You were grateful to him because you were tired of wearing that tunic. You quickly changed and climbed into bed, pulling the covers tightly over you. The bed wasn't as soft as yours, but it was enough for you.
You quietly called to the boy, who took off his shirt, revealing his beautiful, well-muscled body. You found yourself staring like an idiot, but you couldn't help it. Only when Changbin lay down and covered himself with the blanket did you tear your eyes away from him. You both lay there staring at the ceiling, not feeling tired at all.
âThank you for coming back.â His voice broke the night silence that spread throughout the cottage.
âI will always come backâŚ. I must for my kingdom.â Your words were full of conviction, you knew you would do anything to save what your father created.
âGoodnight Y/n.â
âGoodnight Binnie.â You closed your eyes, snuggling into the warm blanket.
The scent of the boy that saturated the sheets made you feel inner peace, and his presence in the room made you feel safer. As sleep finally began to overtake you, images of Changbin, his smile, and his warm words flashed in your mind. You knew you had found another person you could trust and with whom you felt safe. Thanks to this, you could safely go to the land of dreams.
Changbin was the first to open his eyes, rising from the floor with the warm rays of the sun. Golden light, like honey nectar, broke through the makeshift curtains, painting warm reflections on the walls.
The boy looked at you with eyes full of concern. You slept blissfully like a carefree child until the first rays of sunlight illuminated your face. You got up from the bed, rubbing the sleep from your eyes and stretched out hard.
For a moment you didn't know what to do with yourselves and you sat idly. Your silence was interrupted by a knock on the door. The boy stood up to open it, revealing his beautiful body again. As it turned out, it was Changbin's mother and she invited you to breakfast, which his sister was spreading on the table.
A beautiful and aromatic scent filled the room, making your mouth water and your stomach growl loudly. You all laughed and went to the table. There weren't many dishes, just yak, soft bread and fresh vegetables and fruits. Changbin's mom must have bought them before you woke up.
As usual, you were greeted in a very nice way and sat down at the table. You savored every bite. The delicious, home-cooked food melted in your mouth. It reminded you of your home during your father's reign. There was nothing left for you to do but enjoy every moment spent here, especially since it might be your last time in this place.
After eating breakfast, you helped clean up and you all sat down together for homemade tea. Changbin looked at his mother seriously, feeling that the time had come to tell him about his plans.
âMom, I have to tell you something.â His words intrigued the woman, who looked at him waiting for further explanation. âI'm going on a trip with Y/n today and I won't be home for a while. I can't let Y/n endanger herself. I have to repay her somehow for everything she has done for us.â
Changbin's mother pursed her lips and seemed to think hard, but then she nodded, letting out a short sigh.
âI won't stop you anyway, but I'm begging you to take care of yourself.â Changbin kissed his mother tenderly on the top of her head and hugged his sister tightly.
After a while, you were both ready to travel. You said goodbye to Bin's family, promising to be careful and protect each other. And you set off into the unknown. You walked along sandy roads surrounded by blooming flowers and the rustle of leaves.
You didn't want to draw attention to yourself, so you decided that the best way would be to blend in with the crowd. You walked close to other people, slowly walking, but your eyes were alert for danger.
As you thought, there weren't many guards on your way into the city. As you can see, most of them went to the forest where you were supposedly seen. You were glad they were so reckless and managed to make it safely to the next town.
Around noon, you arrived near Seungmin's house. The city was not expensively equipped like the one near the kingdom, but it was also not as poor as the countryside. Modest wooden houses lined the streets, each with its roof bent from time. Small bonsai gardens added charm to the houses. People walked calmly, talking to each other, unaware of the drama that was taking place just a few kilometers away.
A small square in the center of the city, surrounded by magnolia trees, served as a meeting and entertainment place. The city was bustling with life, people were laughing and dancing in the square, full of various stands with various things.
You finally stood in front of the house of Seungmin, your teacher that your father had found for you. Despite his young age, Seungmin had a lot of knowledge, after all, he came from a family of scholars. You looked around one last time and hesitantly knocked on the door.
Only after a while, the door was opened by Seungmin. In his hand he held a roll of parchment and a black paintbrush. Your visit must have distracted him from his studies. He was surprised by your arrival, as he was usually the one who came to the castle to teach you.
However, he let you inside and Changbin followed you. Seungmin looked at him suspiciously, then moved his gaze towards you, looking for an answer. Who is this guy?
âSeungmin, this is Changbin, my new friend is helping me with the mission I came to you with. Changbin, this is Seungmin, my teacher and friend, who has been with me since I was 10 years old. â You introduced the two of them to relax the slightly tense atmosphere.
The boys greeted each other politely and you went deeper into the house. The interior was beautiful, almost every wall was covered with shelves full of old books, the colorful covers of which created beautiful patterns. The smell of pine and old books lingered inside, adding to the mystery of the place.
âWhat brings you to me Y/n?â He asked, arranging fruit and various types of nuts on a plate to offer you.
âI have an unusual but very serious request for you. Of course, you don't have to agree if you think it's too dangerous." The boy stopped what he was doing and focused on your words. âI finally decided to defy my uncle and take back my kingdom, but he didn't like my escape and now he's trying to kill me. The immediate area around the castle has already been ransacked by guards, and together with Hyunjin and IN, we decided that the safest place for me now was the city, so I came to you to ask for shelter. I know it's risky, but I had no idea who else to turn to other than you. I must formulate a plan to regain my throne and stop my uncle from mass slaughter. Like I said, you don't have to agree, I don't want to endanger you." You looked at Seungmin for an answer, but his face didn't seem to show any emotion.
The room fell silent, you sat anxiously, glancing at Seungmin and Chagbin. You were slowly starting to get stressed, your head started to fill with thoughts that maybe it was a bad idea to come here.
âOkayâŚ.I'll help you. I will finally get back at your uncle, you know very well how much I hate him. I'm willing to take the risk, especially for you.â A stone fell from your heart when you heard his words, you jumped up from the chair and started to rejoice like a little child. A smile immediately appeared on both boys' lips.
âThank you, thank you very much.â You threw your arms around the boy's neck and hugged him tightly. You really didn't know how to thank him, how to thank everyone who helped you.
The three of you spent several hours talking and planning how to defeat your uncle and his cronies. You wanted the mission to result in as few casualties as possible. Each of you shared your ideas and together you tried to put them together. Your thoughts were interrupted by a distinctive knock on the door.
âY/n, hide in the closet. They could be guards.â Seungmin became worried, and Changbin was ready to fight anyone who crossed this threshold.
You just laughed lightly and walked to the door. In one smooth movement, you opened them and Hyunjin and IN appeared before your eyes. Dressed all in black, they had to sneak past the guards under the cover of darkness and make their way here.
Seungmin quickly let them in because he knew them almost as well as you and knew he could trust them. The two entered and immediately attacked Changbin. You and Seungmin pulled them away from him and explained who he was and how he got here. Despite this, Hyunjin seemed to not entirely trust the new boy.
You all ate dinner together and went to your previously agreed tasks. Changbin and IN were assigned to stand watch all night to give you a signal to flee or possibly fight in case of danger. Hyunjin and Seungmin were at the same time trying to decipher what you wrote on the paper, something that could help you better understand what the immortality ritual looks like.
You, on the other hand, were told to relax, after all, all the fuss was focused on you. The four of them decided that the best idea for you would be to relax yourself before the further difficulties that awaited you.
At first you weren't happy with this plan because you didn't like being idle, especially since others were doing everything for you. But you went to the guest room that Min had prepared for you and sat on the bed, looking out the window. There were plenty of bright stars in the sky, forming beautiful constellations. You loved this sight, no matter that you had seen it many times.
Lying there, you don't know when, but you fell asleep, and you were only woken up by a cold gust of wind that crept into your room. A cold chill ran through your entire body. You looked out the window and thought you saw a white figure. You rubbed your eyes and looked in that direction again, but you didn't see anyone there, so you thought it was just a prediction.
However, you started to feel more and more anxious and couldn't stop looking in that direction. Fear began to spread within you, and the cold of the night only added to your discomfort. You decided to break the loneliness and left the room. In the living room, Hyunjin was still sitting over stacks of books, so you decided not to disturb him. You quietly went to Seungmin's bedroom and timidly knocked on his door.
Hearing no response, you slowly walked inside.
âSeungmin?â You spoke quietly. âCan IâŚ.Can I sleep with you?â
The boy you woke up from sleep looked at you surprised, but after a while he agreed, pointing to the place next to him on the bed. The spotlessly clean room exudes peace, and the candle on the table sheds warm light on the wall.
You lay facing away from each other, a few centimeters apart. You felt shy, but at the same time, the warmth of his body that emanated from him made you feel safer. Slowly, all the tension disappeared from you.
But with every minute you stayed awake, you started whispering to Seungmin that you needed more closeness and asking if he could hug you. When he mumbled something in his half-sleep, you snuggled into his arms, basking in his warmth. Your previous shyness completely disappeared, replaced by peace of mind. You fell asleep together, hugging each other, and for a moment you stopped thinking about your problems.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
You ran forward recklessly, weaving between crowded streets where ordinary people and highly trained warriors mingled in the hustle and bustle of searching. The sharp eyes of the guards pierced the city, each of them willing to sacrifice everything to find you - a young fugitive.
The city slowly filled with a feeling of unrest, and a clamor of shouts buzzed in the air. The sounds of breaking doors and windows could be heard around you, and the screams of residents were intertwined with soldiers' orders. Every step you took was like a dance on knife blades, and your gaze constantly sought refuge in the shadows.
Deep in your heart, it hurt as you saw the destruction that the searchers' march was leaving behind. You witnessed how the treasures of the great houses, whose lofty facades now trembled under the pressure of the invasion, were turned upside down, how the lives of people who opposed were cut short in the blink of an eye. Your kingdom, a place that was once an oasis of peace, was turning into a battlefield, and you were the cause of this confusion.
There were tears in your eyes, but your heart burned with a remnant of stubbornness. You didn't want to be a prisoner in your own kingdom anymore. You knew that somewhere out there, among the shadows and the screams, you had to find a way out. Your steps led you to unknown corners, where shadows became your allies.
With every step you took, you felt the kingdom that was once your pride shrinking in the shadows of the fading dawn. But you knew there was still hope to fix it all. Now there was one goal in your head, to reach the village next to which there was an abandoned mill.
Somehow you managed to slip past the guards. You were glad that you loved moving from a young age. Thanks to this, you were agile, flexible and didn't get tired so quickly. You could easily say that you were more resilient than many people.
After a few minutes of walking briskly, the surroundings began to change, as if you were transported to a completely different world. Beauty and splendor were replaced by modest-looking scenery. Impressive buildings were replaced by wooden huts, and ornate clothes were replaced by rags.
You could finally slow down and calm the breathing that was hurting your lungs. You started looking around the village, which seemed to be in even worse shape than it was a few days ago when you last snuck out to it.
When people saw and recognized you, they bowed and were happy that you had come again to relieve them of the hardships of everyday life. You decided to put on the mask of a happy princess and greet them with a smile as well. You didn't want to disturb them because there was a riot literally a kilometer away.
You didn't miss anyone, you walked all over the village, looking for people in need that you could help. For you, social status, appearance or age did not matter, these were your people who were taken care of by your parents, and now this responsibility fell to you.
As you slowly wandered along the sandy roads, you suddenly felt someone lightly tugging at your tunic. You looked down and saw a little girl. Her face was covered in mud and her hair was disheveled. She seemed emaciated, and her too large once pink dress was torn.
You crouched down next to the little girl to listen to her. Only now, when you looked at her from close, did you notice that there was a beautiful face hidden under a layer of dirt.
"Something happened? â You asked in the most tender voice you could utter.
"My mom. â That's all she said, she grabbed your hand and started pulling you towards the center of the village.
You decided to follow the girl to see what she wanted. But you looked around carefully to make sure it was safe. All the time, you remained ready for a possible escape.
After a while, you reached a small but nice-looking house, in front of which was a beautiful garden, filled with colorful and beautifully scented flowers. The girl took you inside. Even though the house was not very large, it was beautifully decorated with handmade things. You couldn't stop admiring the amount of little details that complemented the decor.
The child led you to the living room, where you noticed a woman in the bed. Her appearance was terrifying - she was drenched in sweat, emaciated, and her skin resembled a sheet of paper. Her gaze stopped you on the threshold, and your heart filled with concern.
However, you quickly returned to the ground and slowly approached the woman, sitting on the edge of the bed. You looked at her and she gave you the biggest smile she could muster. You smiled back and took a small bottle out of your bag.
âYou'll feel better soon.â You opened the lid and poured a few drops into the woman's mouth.
You always carried one small bottle full of your tears in case you couldn't bring yourself to cry. As you expected, the tears began to take effect after a while, and the woman's pain began to transfer to you. Your fists clenched with determination to hide your own suffering as you watched the woman's changing body closely.
After a while, her skin began to regain its natural colors, sweat disappeared from her forehead, and her cheeks took on a healthy blush. It only took a few minutes when you felt the pain leave your body and the woman began to radiate a healthy glow.
She got up in bed, surprised but happy at the sudden improvement. The little girl immediately threw her arms around her neck and they stayed like that for a while. They were overwhelmed with joy and tears flowed from their eyes. You were very happy that you could help another person and see this joy that was better for you than all the treasures in the world. One smile from a happy family and you were satisfied.
âThank you princess.â The woman grabbed your hand when you were about to leave. âWe will always be in your debt. Even though we don't have much, if you need something, we will help you.â She bowed her head low.
âYour happiness is enough for me. I'm glad I could help you, now enjoy your recovery." You smiled and left the house.
You continued your journey deeper into the village, helping a few more people along the way. Some had only minor scratches and some were very sick. But you didn't care, all that mattered was help. You reached the outskirts of the village when you suddenly heard a loud commotion behind you. You turned around and saw terrified people running away in panic. You stood frozen as people bumped into you, tripped over their own feet and rammed others. Only then did you see the guards approaching from the distance, emerging from the forest.
You also started running again towards the center of the village, where you thought it was safest. You asked the people you met for help or shelter, but no one was willing to cooperate. From a beloved princess who brings hope, you have become a nobody worth helping. Everyone turned away from you, despite the help you gave them earlier.
You were becoming more and more desperate and terrified when you saw a young boy in one of the small streets. Without thinking, you threw your arms around his neck.
âJust play along, please.â You whispered into his ear, hugging him tighter.
The guards' shouts could be heard louder and louder behind you. You felt the boy's hand land on your cheek, and with the other he grabbed your waist and turned you around in one smooth movement, covering you with his body. You raised your eyes to look at him and at the same time he captured your lips in a passionate kiss.
Your eyes opened wide, but closed just as quickly when you heard footsteps approaching. You fell into the kiss, waiting for the guards to run past you, secretly hoping that they wouldn't stop next to you.
The boy's lips seemed to be as soft as the clouds running across the sky, tasting like cherries growing in the palace gardens. You had never seen this boy before, but your worries disappeared with him. You melted into his kisses, forgetting about the danger that was waiting just around the corner.
After a while, the boy slowly pulled away from you, leaving you distracted and dreamy in his sweet kisses. Without opening your eyes, you swayed, but the boy still held your waist, not letting you fall.
âThey're gone, but we don't have much time, princess. We have to run. My cottage should be safe, the guards have already ransacked it, so they won't expect you to be hiding there.â His voice was intriguing, raspy, but you could feel the warmth that flowed from within.
The boy placed his straw hat on your head, which perfectly covered your entire face. Then he grabbed your hand and led you to his house. You were passing a familiar neighborhood when suddenly you stood in front of a house that you remembered perfectly.
A beautiful house, with an equally impressive garden, looked as if a tornado had passed over it. The flowers, which were inviting with their beautiful scent, were trampled and destroyed. Immediately upon entering, you noticed that some of the previously neatly arranged items were scattered on the ground.
The woman you healed and her daughter were cleaning up the broken glass on the floor when they noticed you entered. The woman immediately got up from her knees and approached you, apologizing for the mess. But it didn't bother you at all, in fact you felt stupid that it all happened because of you.
âBinnie, I'm glad you found the princess. In the end, I didn't have the opportunity to thank you properly.â The woman started, sitting you down on the wooden bed.
âThank you for saving our mother. We were worried we would lose her. She is all we had left.â The boy's voice buzzed in your ears again, filling them with a sweet melody.
âBut you have nothing to be thankful for. It was a pleasure to help you get back to health and happiness.â You smiled, but your eyes kept turning to the young boy.
He seemed to be around your age. His well-built body gave him masculinity. However, despite his muscles, he didn't seem to be rough like most warriors. On the contrary, he radiated positive and very joyful energy. His slightly wavy black hair fell over his forehead, adding to his charm.
After a while, the little girl brought you tea and two small cookies on a slightly crumpled plate.
âI'm sorry we have so little, but the guards were merciless to everyone. It was as if they were blinded by their task.â You looked away at the woman who was talking to you with her head down as if she was ashamed.
âThank you very much, it's still much more than I could have expected.â You were so grateful for everything they did for you.
You drank delicious jasmine tea that warmed you from the inside and ate equally good vanilla cookies. It reminded you of when you and your dad used to have tea parties when you were little. Even though your father was king, he always found time for you. It touched you, but you didn't want to cry in front of this family, so you finished your snack and stood up.
âThank you very much for everything you have done for me, but I will have to go now to find shelter before dark.â You grabbed your backpack and started to head towards the exit, but a boy stopped you.
âJust stay here, I'll protect you. It's safe here, the guards won't be back here until at least the morning." His voice was still calm but serious. You knew he wasn't joking and you could trust him.
For lack of any other better option, you nodded, agreeing to stay here for the night. You couldn't hide the fact that treating so many people was a lot of effort for you and you were tired.
âOkay, I'll stay here, but only one night. I'll move on in the morning so as not to disturb you and not to anger my uncle." It was still too much in your opinion, but you knew that this family was stubborn and they wouldn't give up.
âGreat, though I'll take you to a room where you can sleep.â The boy said, taking the bag from you.
You bowed slightly and followed him. Even though the house wasn't big, you entered a separate bedroom, filled with lots of different kinds of hand-carved figurines. In the very center there was a bed, next to which there was a small table replacing a desk. Even though you lived all your life in a huge palace full of wealth, such small, modest additions charmed you.
âThis is my room, so you'll have some peace and quiet when you close the door. My sister and mother sleep in the living room, so it might be a bit cramped there. You can sleep on the bed, I'll lie on the floor if you don't mind, princess.â He started, taking a warm, thick blanket out of the closet.
âPlease, call me Y/n. And what's your name? Finally, I would like to thank the person who saved me.â
âI'm Changbin and you have nothing to thank Y/n. Actually, I should be thanking you for saving my mother. When I got home, you were gone, so I went looking for you⌠Oh, and I'm sorry about the kiss, I don't know what came over me.â He scratched his head, remembering the situation from a moment ago.
You touched your lips lightly, never taking your eyes off the boy. You felt the warmth and sweetness of his lips on them again, and your heart skipped a beat. Your cheeks flushed and you lowered your head in shame.
âYou don't have to apologize for it, they didn't find me, so thank you for helping me. Thank you for everything you did for me.â Suddenly, your serious conversation was interrupted by a loud rumbling in your stomach.
You clutched your stomach to hide your grumbling and looked at the boy, wanting to make sure he hadn't heard anything. However, Changbin was looking at you with a slight smile and when your eyes met, you both started laughing.
âI guess that's a sign that you need to eat dinner.â He said through laughter and together you went to the kitchen, where Changbin's mother was already cooking something.
Beautiful and intense smells wafted through the kitchen, making you think your mouth was about to start watering. You asked if you could help with anything and luckily the woman asked you to peel the potatoes. You didn't want to sit idly by and watch others, so you happily started working.
After a while, the delicious dinner was ready and you couldn't wait to eat the meal you had prepared together. Changbin grabbed your plate and served you a large portion. Your cheeks turned red again, the boy was behaving like a true gentleman, which impressed you very much.
You took the first bite, which everyone gathered was waiting for with anticipation. The food literally melted in your mouth, filling it with an explosion of flavors. You spent the rest of the dinner talking, you learned a little about the family, that their father died at the hands of the guards, and then their mother got sick and Changbin takes care of the whole family, doing physical work on the farm.
-----------------------------------
When IN finally arrived at Hyunjin's palace, he was nervous that they wouldn't let him in, but when he stood right in front of the gates, all he had to do was say that his father had sent him and the guards dispersed in the blink of an eye.
The boy immediately went to the upper floors, where he thought the bedrooms were, in search of Hyunjin's room. He carefully looked into each place, but he couldn't find the right one anywhere. Eventually, he saw a beautifully hand-painted bamboo door, pulled it open and noticed Hyunjin sitting at the desk.
His hair was tied in a small ponytail behind his head, with a few strands of gray hair falling out. He wore a cream-colored robe with a simple gold belt.
The older boy turned around, surprised by the unannounced visit, but as soon as he saw Jeongin, he got up from the table and approached him. The boy told him that they were hunting Y/n, but Hyunjin already knew everything and gave him information about where you were supposed to meet him.
Hyunjin closed the door and, lowering his voice, began to ask IN everything he knew, after all, his father was in charge of the guards.
âY/n's uncle went crazy, he ordered the guards to find her at all costs. Any attempt at resistance, even the slightest, was to involve the killing of the entire family of the person who resisted. The guy is crazy and would love to kill everyone for his own benefit." The boy's voice was shaking as he talked about all this. He was worried about Y/n and what he would do to her when he found her.
Hyunjin tried to calm him down, although inside he was afraid for your life and his family's. They sat down at the table and IN remembered that he had obtained the book of rituals. He took out a book and spread it on the desk. The boys looked at the writing, looking for a specific ritual. Fortunately, Hyunjin knew the script, maybe not perfectly because he didn't listen in class, but he knew more than Jeongin.
They started looking through one page at a time when suddenly they heard someone approaching the door. In a hurry and a little clumsily, Hyunjin put the book in a secret compartment in the desk, and IN unlocked the door. Hyunjin's father entered the room without knocking, surprised by Jeongin's arrival. He looked at the boy, raising an eyebrow, and then looked at his son with a questioning look.
âFather, Jeongin came to me at my request to give all the information about Y/n. After all, he was the one who spent most of his time with her.â You could hear slight anxiety in Hyunjin's voice, but he tried to keep up appearances.
âI'm glad you want to help us, your father must be proud of you. Now tell me what you know.â His voice was stern, even pretentious.
The younger boy explained a lot, but Hyunjin knew he was making it up, because he said that you spent nights in your room, absorbed in books, and in fact you were at Hyunjin's place.
As he was about to continue, a servant entered the room and whispered something to father. This must have interested him greatly, because he stood up abruptly and left. Still confused, the boys closed the door again and went back to working on the book.
They didn't realize how long it took them. The book was written in a really difficult language and neither of them understood everything. Hyunjin rubbed his eyes tiredly, leaning back in his chair, only then did he notice that it had gotten dark.
âFuck. We have to go to the old mill quickly. Y/n is probably waiting for me and worried.â Hyunjin said, getting up from his chair and moving around the room.
However, after a while, they both moved towards the designated place. They walked carefully but calmly. They didn't want to raise unnecessary suspicions. Too much interest in them was the last thing they would want in this situation.
After some time, they arrived at the old mill unnoticed. They checked carefully all the way whether anyone was following them. They looked around the mill but there was no sign of you anywhere. The worst thoughts began to swirl in their heads. They connected it with the arrival of servants in Hyunjin's room.
âWhat if they caught her and tortured her, or worse, killed her?â IN began to panic, pacing around nervously.
"Calm down, maybe something stopped her and she'll be a little late. Let's wait for her for a while." Hyunjin tried to calm him down, although inside he was going crazy with nerves.
So they sat down on a ruined bench near the mill and started waiting. They waited and waited, and the hours passed, but there was no sign of you anywhere.
Finally, when the full moon rose in the sky, illuminating the surroundings, they decided to return to the castle so as not to arouse suspicion and find out something about you. Maybe they'll be able to save you if you've been captured, or find you on the way back because you've gotten lost. Their minds were on you and only you. Your well-being was the most important thing to them now.
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
You were locked in your now modest-looking room. You lived another day trapped in the bonds of your own anguish. You tried not to show your weakness, bravely bearing the yoke of your uncle, who was impatiently waiting for his regime to bring him much more profit. However, the gains came with the destruction of everything your father worked so hard for.
Your kingdom, whose walls once betrayed the prosperity and joy of its inhabitants, has plunged into misery and despair. The evil and greed of the uncle and his henchmen introduced a bitter venom into the hearts of the population, and peace was replaced by anxiety.
Uncle's regime stripped the people of their dignity, reducing them to the role of slaves in their own country. Your uncle was unfazed by the injustice of his subjects, stubbornly striving to amass as much fortune as he could, without regard to anyone but his own desires. Even blood ties were no longer of any value to him.
You witnessed the fall of the kingdom of which you were the rightful heir. You were chained like a prisoner in your own palace, where you collected your tears every day, which were then sold as a valuable and rare commodity to various people from distant lands. Your tears have become a precious resource. You became a money making machine, and the inner pain you felt with each wound healed became almost unbearable as you completely lost control over whom your tears would help.
More than once you tried to rebel against this cruel reality, but your uncle always had an ace up his sleeve. He threatened that for every rebellion, for every slightest act of disobedience, for every attempt to regain even a disc of dignity, he would bring even more suffering to your people. But you've had enough of it. You didn't want to wait a long time with folded arms. You had to come up with a plan to break free from his rule before anyone from your uncle's circle finds out about your long-hidden secret.
At night you sneaked out of your room through the small window as usual and went to Hyunjin. You were wearing a long black tunic with slits on both sides allowing you to move freely. The long sleeves, ending at your fingers like gloves, allowed you to climb better. Your face was covered by a large hood and a beautiful black silk scarf that showed off your astonishing, large and piercing eyes.
Taught by your constant adventures, you had climbing in your little finger and scurried over the roofs of buildings and tight corners as silently and agile as a cat.Â
Jumping on the roofs, you carefully looked at the mostly drunk people who were swaying on their feet. You were disgusted by their horrible and shameless lives. Their indifference to the suffering of others irritated you terribly. Whenever you heard them talking about you, your dead father, or the poor Kingdom, your blood boiled inside you, but you didn't lose sight of your main goal, which was to reach Hyunjin safely.
You were risking a lot by sneaking out and you both knew it, so you were taking every precaution. You jumped between the last buildings and saw a beautifully decorated palace. It was smaller than your uncle's, but equally impressive.
You climbed a tall tree that almost reached the highest towers and started throwing small stones that you picked up from the ground at the bamboo shutters. After a while, the shutters opened and you saw your friend's handsome face. The boy seemed to have woken up from a nap, you couldn't call it a sleep since neither of you have been able to get a good night's rest since your uncle's rule. Your bodies are constantly on alert just in case something goes wrong.
"Y/n, did something happen? It's late. Aren't you taking too much risk?" He asked in a hoarse voice, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
He looked exceptionally good, and as a cool breeze blew into the room, blowing his shoulder-length gray hair, your heart skipped a beat. You knew he was just your best friend, but your heart wanted more and it was getting harder to control your emotions.
"I have to tell you something. I can't keep this to myself any longer. I can't stand my uncle's tyranny any longer.â You said quietly, grabbing the boy's hand as he extended it to help you inside.
You closed the shutters behind you and sat down on the bed together. There was little distance between you. You could perfectly feel the warmth that emanated from him, warming you up.
âRemember how I told you that my tears could heal?" You started, taking a deep breath, your heart racing.
âYes... You've been saving my ass for as long as I can remember.â He chuckled lightly, brushing his hair back. His fingers ran smoothly through his silky hair. However, when he noticed your expression, he realized the seriousness of the situation and became serious.
âI didn't tell you everything then... Before he passed away, my beloved father told me one more skill that I was given at birth, which turned out to be my nightmare.â The boy listened carefully and with great interest. His eyes never wandered in any other direction. âHeh, how do I say thisâŚRemember that story about warriors gaining immortality and winning every battle?â
âYes, my grandfather told me about them when I was little, but they were just fairy tales⌠Right?â He became curious but worried at the same time. He leaned more comfortably on his hands to get a better look at you.
âThese are not complete fairy tales... Apart from healing tears, my body can do more. The person who kills me and drinks my blood will become immortal." Hyunjin's eyes widened in surprise as soon as he heard this information. You wrapped your arms around yourself, wanting to give yourself some comfort.
âYou will be in great danger if anyone finds out about this, but I can promise you this, I will always protect you.â Hyunjin was still in shock, but as your best friend, he couldn't watch you suffer. He moved closer to you and embraced you tenderly. You hugged him back shyly, your emotions mixing with each other.
Anger, sadness, fear, joy were all blending into one, and your head was becoming more and more confused. But at the same time, you felt so relieved that you had finally shared your secret with someone. You were glad that this person was Hyunjin, because you could trust him and count on him in any situation.
You sat together and talked for a while, and Hyunjin tried to do everything he could to stop you from thinking about negative things. When the sun was getting close to rising, you had to go back to your place. You slipped out of the room and used the cover of darkness to return to your uncle's castle.
You changed into silk pajamas and hid your black tunic in the closet and before you knew it you were lost in the land of dreams.
You don't know how long you slept, but your beautiful sleep was interrupted by a loud bang. You jumped up from the bed and noticed IN, out of breath, running into your room. The boy stood in the doorway, leaning against the frame. His wavy, slightly longer hair fell over his forehead, which was covered with tiny beads of sweat. He was dressed in training clothes, which meant that he had to do his morning training, which in turn meant that it was already noon.
Looking at him, you guessed that he must have run all the way here from his house, which wasn't that close. You patted the space next to you, inviting him to sit down, and poured him a glass of water that always stood by your bed. The boy drank the entire glass in one gulp, almost choking on the water.
âY/n, the situation is bad, very bad.â He panted between deep breaths, turning sharply to face you. âIn the morning, during training, I overheard my father talking to your uncle and Hyunjin's father. They want to kill you to become immortal. What are they talking about? What? Immortality?â Your eyes shot open and your heart sank. You couldn't believe what you just heard.
âHow did they find out about this? Hyunjin told them? NoâŚNot possible. He would never do that. You had a problem, a very big one." You thought, your eyes wandering around the room.Â
The boy was still waiting for an explanation with bated breath. It was obvious that he was worried and confused by what he had recently heard.
âIN listen to me carefully because we don't have much time. My tears heal, but not only that. The person who kills me and drinks my blood becomes immortal, but to do so he must perform a certain ritual, which must be presented in one of my father's old books. I know it's a lot to ask but please find this book. I have to run.â The boy listened with his mouth open in shock.
âYou what?... WaitâŚnever mind, you can count on me Y/n. I will always be by your side and protect you.â He shook off his astonishment and moved towards the exit.
âThank you Jeongin.â You stopped him and hugged him tightly, snuggling into his athletic body.
A small blush appeared on the boy's face, but he hugged you back, wrapping his long arms around you before disappearing into the corridor. As soon as he was out of sight, you hurriedly started packing all the necessary things. Your head was starting to hurt from the amount of thoughts that were attacking you.
After a while, you were already packed, you knew perfectly well that the fewer things, the better for you. You were about to sneak out the window when a maid knocked on your room, inviting you to a celebratory dinner with your uncle. As soon as you heard about this man, a shiver ran down your spine, but you didn't want to raise suspicions and went to the dining room. However, you had no intention of tasting even a crumb of what your uncle served you. If he wanted to kill you, you couldn't trust him anymore.
You changed into comfortable but elegant clothes that one of the maids brought you and went downstairs. You walked down the halls, constantly being vigilant and carefully observing everything and everyone. Upon arrival, you noticed your uncle sitting at a huge table, covered with beautiful smelling and looking dishes. You'd be lying to yourself if you didn't think they look mouth-wateringly delicious.
You carefully sat down in the seat furthest from your uncle, keeping your eyes on him. Fortunately, your harsh treatment did not arouse anyone's suspicion, as you had been behaving this way towards this tyrant from the very beginning.
âY/n my dear, it's so nice to finally see you in nice clothes, now that you've grown up. Please eat, I made this feast especially for you.â He started with a hideous smirk on his face. He waited for you to take your first bite, after starving you in your chamber for so long, you should be eating all that delicious food.
âThank you uncle, but I'm not hungry.â You forced an insincere smile. âI feel really bad, so I'll go to my room now.â You had no intention of spending any time with him.
You bowed and headed back towards the long corridors. From the corner of your eye, you noticed a grimace of dissatisfaction. As soon as the door closed behind you, you heard the loud clang of dishes breaking. You quickly went to your place, grabbed a bag with the most necessary things and slipped out the window.
At first, you hid in dark alleys, but as soon as it started to get dark, even a warm coat didn't keep you warm, and the first drops started falling from the sky. You had to hide somewhere and the only person you could think of was Hyunjin. So you put on a silk scarf, covering your face, and slipped unnoticed into the palace.
You knocked on the shutters and after a while you were already inside the room. Hyunjin stood with wet hair, surprised by your arrival. In one fluid movement, you removed the scarf from your face. Your glazed eyes twinkled under the influence of the candles placed around the room.
âY/n what happened? Did someone hurt you?â Confusion was evident on his face as he carefully searched your body for any wounds.
âI'm fine Jinnie, but I'm in trouble. Someone must have overheard our conversation and now my uncle wants me dead. He already tried to poison me at the feast, so I escaped and ran ahead. At first I hid but it was too dangerous, so I wanted to hide somewhere and I thought of you and here I am and I'm terribly scared. Hyunjini, I don't know what to do, I don't want to die, I'm still too young, there are so many things I have to dâŚâ You didn't have time to finish when Hyunjin connected your lips.
Your eyes went wide, you were in shock, and the tears that were welling up in your eyes froze, not daring to spill down your cheeks. His hand rested on your cheek, like a ray of sunlight on a patch of greenery. His other hand was around your waist, as if he wanted to blur the boundaries between you, making sure you wouldn't fall, even though your legs were shaking like leaves in the wind. It took a moment for you to fully realize what was happening and close your eyes, leaning into the kiss.
However, your bliss was quickly interrupted. The boy slowly moved away from you and went back to drying his hair.
âThankfully you stopped panicking.â He chuckled lightly, leaning against the wooden desk. His smile was like a spark that lit up the dark room.
You still stood transfixed, looking straight ahead as if trying to understand if what had just happened was real. You touched your lips with your fingertips, still feeling the warmth of his lips. Your heart was pounding like crazy, like it was about to burst out of your chest.
âJinnieâŚâ You didnât know what to say, and that was the only word that came out of your mouth.
âYou started to panic, so I had to distract you somehow.â Your heart skipped a beat. You had feelings for Hyunjin, and hearing that the kiss was just a means to an end made you feel sad. To you it was more than just a distraction, but to him it was an insignificant activity.
The boy must have noticed that you were sad, so he walked over to you, sat you down on his bed and hugged you tightly. His arms were a safe place for you. Bitter tears flowed from your eyes. You couldn't lie to your heart, which was screaming louder and louder.
â Calm down Y/n, I won't let you get hurt. You are very important to me and I wouldn't forgive myself if something happened to you." His fingers brushed against your back and you snuggled even closer into his chest. You didn't want to break away from him, you wanted to stay like this forever.
Suddenly, you heard loud footsteps. You hurriedly hid under the boy's wooden bed. You hid your bag at the last moment because Hyunjin's father entered the room. You could only see his shoes, but judging by his voice, he was angry.
âSon, have you seen Y/n or has she contacted you recently?â His tone was stern, even pissed off. He was very interested in finding you.
âNo, father, I haven't seen her. I haven't had a chance to meet her recently. Is something wrong?" He started, trying to hide the stress in his voice.
You saw the man pacing back and forth restlessly. Your heart was pounding like crazy again, you covered your mouth to make sure you didn't make a sound.
âWhere the fuck is that girl? â Father punched the wall hard and you flinched, gritting your hand tightly with your teeth.
âI don't know, father, but as soon as I find out something, I will immediately come to you with any information. Maybe look in the city, if she escaped, she probably went to a place where there are a lot of people. â He tried to somehow persuade his father to leave the room.
âYou're right, son. As soon as you find out something, or she would come to you let me know and I'll take care of it"
Hyunjin just nodded and waited a moment until his father left to let you know to come out of your hiding place. You scrambled out from under the bed, breathing heavily.
"That was close...Are you sure you want to take that risk?" He asked, helping you stand up. âShit Y/n your hand.â He cursed when he saw the marks of your teeth on your hand.
"I'm fine." You quickly removed your hand and hid it behind you, which surprised Hyunjin, but he didn't push. "Hyunjin please let me stay at your place, I have nowhere to go." There was a hint of pleading in your voice, you were desperate.
âOkay Y/n, anything for you, but we have to be ultra careful.â He said walking to the door and closing it. Then he grabbed something from the closet and sat down next to you on the bed.
From a small trunk he took out a tiny box containing ointment. He carefully grabbed your hand and gently, afraid of hurting you, began to apply the sticky substance. You immediately felt relief as the cold ointment covered the bite mark. The boy circled his finger around the wound, massaging in the ointment. You couldn't take your eyes off him, you looked at him with dreamy eyes, smiling slightly. For you, the boy was like a forbidden fruit that you wanted so much but couldn't possess.
Finally, Hyunjin finished applying the ointment and raised his head, and your eyes met. Time slowed down for you, neither of you daring to take your eyes off the other. The boy carefully examined your entire face, focusing his attention on your full, raspberry lips. All he had to do was look at you with his radiant eyes and you couldn't help but bite your lip. Which brought a smirk to Hyunjin's face.
Still not taking his eyes off you, he grabbed your hand and pulled you hard. Still keeping you safe, he dragged you to the roof, where he sometimes sat when he was fed up with his parents.
âI have something to cheer you up⌠Look at the sky.â Sitting comfortably next to you.
You raised your head and saw a cloudless sky, as if it had become cloudless at the boy's request. The light of billions of stars decorated the sky, sparkling like diamonds. A cold but pleasant wind blew through your hair.
You couldn't remember the last time you got so lost in the night sky. You only saw stars sometimes when you glanced at your small window in your room. But this was something completely different, now you could see the whole sky, feel free again.
âHow beautiful, right? You asked, pointing to one of the constellations.
âThatâs true, it's beautiful.â Hyunjin confirmed, his voice quiet and almost inaudible.
Wanting to make sure he was looking at the same constellation, you looked in his direction. Then your eyes met his. His eyes seemed to fit into the starry sky.
âYou were supposed to look at the sky.â You giggled, slapping his shoulder playfully.
âI did, but I have much better views.â He placed his hand on top of yours, wrapping his arms around your entire body.
Your face became hot and your cheeks glowed red. The cold wind seemed to whisper soothing melodies as it swirled between the buildings. Without taking his eyes off you, Hyunjin moved closer, leaving only centimeters of space between you.
âThe stars are beautiful, but I think I have even better views now.â He placed his hand gently on your cheek.
Your heart starts racing and your breathing becomes shallow. Was it really happening or were you just imagining it? Hyunjin moved closer, capturing your lips in a sweet, tender kiss. This time he seemed to be filled with an intimate feeling that was released with each passing second.
The kiss became more and more passionate. Hyunjin wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer to him, and you gave yourself completely to him. Butterflies were swirling in your stomach, but you didn't mind, it was all about the here and now.
You put your arms around the boy's neck, and he, not sensing your objection, inserted his tongue into your mouth. You immediately gave yourself to him, completely succumbing to his initiative. The amount of emotions that were filling you reached their peak and a soft, muffled moan escaped your lips.
A smirk appeared on Hyunjin's face and he pulled away from you for a moment, giving you both a chance to catch your breath.
âYou don't even know how long I've been waiting for this.â He said, looking deep into your eyes.
âI can say the same.â You said shyly, tucking a strand of hair that fell into your eyes behind your ear.
Hyunjin gave you a genuine smile that exuded a sense of relief and happiness. He grabbed your hand again, this time lacing your fingers together, and you walked down to the room. He sat you down on the bed, pushed you lightly onto the pillows, and a moment later he was towering over you.
Your heart was beating so hard you thought he could hear it. You reached out, grabbing his neck and pulling him closer to you. His lips sank into yours, this time immediately with a lot of passion. When your mouth wasn't enough for him anymore, he moved to your neck, which sent pleasant shivers down your body.
He placed lots of small, gentle kisses all over your neck, moving from one side to the other, leaving a wet trail. It was becoming increasingly difficult for you to control yourself, and your body began to take in the heat that was accumulating in your lower abdomen.
His lips moved lower and lower, and you felt like you were about to go crazy. It was getting harder and harder to breathe with your excitement. Finally, when he lightly sucked on your collarbone, another moan of pleasure escaped your lips, this time not muffled.
Hyunjin moved away to get a better view of you. You were as attracted to him as he was to you, your moans making him become like a lion waiting for its prey. You looked into each other's eyes, unexpressed desires between you.
In one fluid movement, he took off his shirt, revealing his beautifully but not too sculpted body. It was as if forged by the Greek Gods. You bit your lip again, the boy had an aphrodisiac effect on you, stunning all your senses.
As you explored his body carefully, his hand landed on your thigh. Slowly driving up. Your back arched at his touch, your chest heaved upwards, and another moan wanted to escape your lips, so you bit your lip once again.
âYou have to stop or I'm going to go crazy.â His husky voice rang in your ears as he parted your lips with his finger.
So you closed your eyes and the boy was about to lean in again for another kiss when suddenly you heard a knock on the door. You both pulled away from each other like an arrow, straightening up. Your blood pressure shot up, but you managed to crawl under the bed.
Hyunjin walked to the door and opened it. He saw his mother, who was as angry as his father, but was surprised to see the boy without a shirt.
âWhy are you shirtless?â She asked, pushing him aside and sitting on the bed.
âI felt hot... What did I do to deserve this visit? You don't usually come here.â He sat down next to her, trying to calm his breathing.
âIt's about Y/n, that girl is getting on my nerves. Everything would have gone smoothly, but of course she had to complicate everything. She has wonderful power and doesn't want to share it with anyone. After all, so many people could benefit from her death. I could be forever young and beautiful.â She started with reproach in her voice, as if she had come to complain.
âWhen you came to ask if I had seen her, no, I hadn't seen her. I already told my father that as soon as I find out something, I will tell him." He ignored her slightly, it hurt him that another person closest to him wanted to kill you.
âOh Jinnie, how glad I am to have you. You are the only one who understands me and supports me. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful son. âShe kissed him on the top of his head.
âYou don't have anything to thank me for, mom, but if you don't mind, I'll go to bed, I'm very tired.â The woman smiled slightly, stood up with relief and left the room.
Hyunjin waited a moment before closing the door again and helping you out from under the bed.
âWe have succeeded again, but it will be better not to give them any more opportunities to surprise us. Let's go to sleep, I'll lie down on the couch and you sleep on the bed." He said as he laid down on the leather couch.
You silently climbed onto the bed and covered yourself with the blanket. You lay there for a while, the silence between you every now and then broken by the sounds of drunk guys banging around in the streets. You moved around in bed, unable to adjust yourself. Thoughts about Hyunjin and then about your uncle swirled around in your head, alternating like a dream with a nightmare.
âJinnie? I can't sleepâŚCan you hug me?â You asked shyly, pulling the covers tighter around you, trying to hide your embarrassment.
However, the boy didn't speak, so you thought he was sleeping. Hearing no response, you decided to try to sleep again. You closed your eyes, hoping that blissful sleep would come soon. But instead of sleep, you felt the bed dip before Hyunjin slipped under the covers and wrapped his arms around your waist.
âSleep well, sunshine.â He kissed your cheek, moving closer to you, leaving no distance between you.
A smile appeared on your lips. His hot body warmed you, giving you blissful peace. You turned to face him and he slid his arm under your head. You snuggled into his chest and went to sleep.
In the morning, Hyunjin woke up to loud sounds coming from behind the door. He looked at you and you still lay there blissfully, sleeping sweetly like a baby. He slowly got up so as not to wake you and went to the door. He carefully opened the door, looking out into the corridor. His eyes saw troops of armed warriors bustling around the palace. He quickly slammed the door and, despite his great reluctance, had to wake you up.
âY/n, Y/n get up. You are in danger, you must run.â He tried to wake you up, terror in his eyes.
âJinnie? What's going on?" You asked, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. You stretched well, trying to gain energy.
âGuards are running all over the palace, you have to run away now.â His voice was shaky, but his words woke you up properly.
You quickly jumped out of bed and started gathering your things. In a moment you were packed and ready to run away, but before you could jump out the window, Hyunjin stopped you.
âIn the evening, when the search ceases, let's meet at the abandoned mill at the end of the village. I'll try to keep them as long as possible, but the rest is up to you. Do whatever you want, but don't get yourself killed. Y/n, promise me nothing will happen to you. â The emotions on his face showed that he was very stressed.
"I promise." You said and placed one last kiss on his lips. The kiss may not have been long, but full of feelings and assurances, and if necessary, even goodbyes.
You took one last look at him, taking advantage of every second you still saw him and jumped out the window.
-------------------------------------
Immediately after Y/n's request, IN ran to the palace library, slipped between security and many scholars hanging out in the building, and went to the underground library that had not been visited for a long time, closed after the death of your father.
The place was dusty, full of large cobwebs and old books. A musty smell lingered throughout the room, irritating IN's nostrils. However, he didn't care about it because he was focused on a specific goal.
He immediately started looking for this one particular book. Even though he had very little information about it, he was willing to spend many hours here until he found what he wanted.
After a long fruitless search, looking through hundreds of books and digging through many cobwebs, he was left with the last shelf, the one closest to the large portrait of the royal couple. He searched carefully through each of the books for different rituals, but none of them had this specific one.
Finally, he grabbed the smallest book, covered with red cloth, and opened the first pages. They were written in an ancient script that only royalty knew. IN, thanks to you, knew some words and recognized the ritual.
He put the book in his bag over his shoulder and left the library as carefully as he had entered. He skillfully avoided the guards circulating around the castle and went to your room, but you were not there.
At first he didn't know where you could have gone, but after a while it dawned on him that you probably went to Hyunjin. You always went there when you needed it, so the boy went to him.Â
Summary: You are a unique person, you were unique from birth. But your uniqueness could have been a threat to you. And you were about to discover this when you grew up. Will the people you meet help you, or will those closest to you become a threat?
One beautiful night, when the moon was in eclipse and the sky was shrouded in darkness, the birth of two children was to change the fate of the world forever. In the royal palace, amid slabs of ivory marble and the sounds of loud conversations, the moment everyone had been waiting for was coming. In the royal family, the longed-for descendant was finally to come into the world, who was to inherit the throne from old father.
Mother, the beautiful Queen Rosalie, tried to hold on bravely through the contractions, but the internal struggle was evident in her eyes. When the time finally came to push, all the prayers of the servants and the efforts of the doctors proved insufficient. Tired and exhausted from a long labor, the Queen has finally given birth to her little daughter. Her mother looked gratefully at the little creature that lay in her arms.
However, life and death mysteriously intertwined, planning the fate of the two differently. Queen Rosalie with pain but at the same time happiness in her eyes looking at her newborn daughter, gave her last breath. She closed her eyes, a single tear fell, and died.
The newborn girl, whose name was Y/n, seemed frail and vulnerable. Her small, fragile body and delicate, tiny hands seemed almost transparent, and her complexion was snow white. However, at the moment when the border of life and death was approaching for the little girl, an unusual phenomenon reached the royal bed. Heavenly Angels, beings made of light, came for the soul of the child, but despite the tiny body, they sensed great potential in her. They chose her before she could leave this world.
Great wings of pearly gold feathers wrapped around Y/n's body. Her little heart began to beat faster, her skin took on a vivid color, and tears flowed from her eyes - not from pain or fear, but from some strong force that took over her. Each of these tears, dripping onto the thin fabric, formed a bright, ring-shaped patch. The assembled angels had no doubt about the unique power she possessed. Her tears could heal, restoring life and health to other people. The small, oblivious Y/n was blessed with a gift that transcended the limits of ordinary being.
The people gathered in the room were asked by the angels to give Y/n proper protection as she is an amazing child and will do good. But her secret should stay hidden. The fewer people who know what gift the girl has, the better.
At exactly the same time, in a slightly less grand palace, the same extraordinary story happened as that of little Y/n. In a noble family, friends with the king, a son was born, named Hyunjin. The birth of a boy was not a joyful event, it was shrouded in immense suffering of the newborn. He came into the world accompanied by terrifying and horrible visions of his death, mixed with his screams.
Just as his piercing roar reached its apogee, the apparitions emerged from the dark depths and approached him. The devils, with faces that perfectly reflected their nature, looked at the boy with great interest. After a moment's thought, they knew that at birth the boy had been endowed with a unique strength that was ideally suited as their intermediary.
The devilish figures offered the noble couple to save their son in exchange for giving away part of his soul. Desperate parents agreed without thinking about the consequences. The devilish figures put their hands on the boy wrapped in a blanket and gave him some of their gifts. The boy was given an ability that caused suffering to all those who ingested even a drop of his blood, making them suffer terrible and severe torment. Hyunjin, though unaware of what a terrible weapon he had become, was now a transmitter of torment and death.
As the years passed, you became more and more able to control your abilities. Your father tried hard to stop you from crying, which made you seem like a heartless, unfeeling child.
But you were grateful for it. You never admitted it, but every wound you healed made you feel the pain of the hurt person. The more severe the injury, the more exhausting the healing process was for you.
After all, you were a person with a good and warm heart who could not pass by people who needed help, and there were a lot of such people, especially in the countryside.
You chose to use your gift to help those who needed it. Every morning you sat in your room, forced yourself to cry in various ways and collected the shiny tears in a small, elegant container. Then you sneaked out of the palace and wandered through the village looking for people in need of help. You liquefied a few tears on the wounds, which magically healed others. Your tears became medicine, and warm, gentle hands soothed the pain.
Throughout the kingdom, you were known as the good and beloved princess. People bowed low at the sight of you, glad that they had such a good and generous heir to the throne. However, there were people who were afraid of you and considered you a threat and manipulation on the part of the kingdom. There were even a few people who wanted to kill you, so your father started sending guards after you.
Because you were royalty, you didn't have many friends. Your father didnât want you to hang out with someone of much lower social status. So as soon as you turned 15, you asked your father if you could have someone around your age with you, and not just surround yourself with older scholars.
The king decided to grant your wish and a boy a year younger than you, appeared in your service. His name was Jeongin but you called him IN, he was the son of one of the best soldiers and general in your fatherâs army. He was as good as his father, though his appearance didnât show it. He had strong features but nothing like the typical appearance of your fathersâs guards. He had no scars or bruises, his skin was always flawless. You were very happy to have him with you. You two got along great together, and you didn't treat him as a servant at all, but rather as a friend who helped you in difficult moments.
You had another friend, a best friend. He was called Hyunjin, and it was fate that you both came from better families and were born at exactly the same time. What made you practically inseparable, always together since childhood.
You could trust Hyunjin and he could trust you. With each year you spent together, your bond grew stronger and you grew closer. You were glad you had him with you. Whenever you felt a little worse, you ran to Hyunjin, who, no matter what time you came, was ready to comfort you.
The boy knew perfectly well about your secret, and you helped him heal his wounds more than once, for example when he fell off a horse or fell on slippery stones in the river. However, recently a problem arose that you couldn't handle. You started to develop some feelings for him and you knew very well that it wasn't just friendship, you felt definitely something more for him, but you couldn't tell him because you didn't want to ruin your friendship.
However, your wonderful life was about to change as your 20th birthday hit, your dad got terribly ill. No doctor knew what the disease was, much less how to help the king. Even the doctors who came specially from faraway places could not heal the king.
Your father was lying on his big bed, surrounded by a lot of different people in light-colored clothes that only emphasized the paleness of his skin and the gentleness of his hands resting limply on the covers.
The passing of time painted anguish on his wrinkled face, and faint sighs were the only sounds that came from his mouth. You were helpless, distraught at the sight of your dying father, because not even your power could heal him. Your heart sobbed silently, tears flowing helplessly down your cheeks.
Days and nights passed, and you constantly accompanied your father, trying in every possible way to ease his pain and restore his health. There were always two people by your side, Hyunjin and IN, the boys were trying to cheer you up. You were grateful that you had them, without them you probably would have fallen apart a long time ago.
Exhausted but not losing hope, you constantly tried to get your power to work out. However, it seemed to be blocked, and all your efforts did not bring any improvement. You were exhausted by constant attempts, to the point that blood flowed from your nose, which Hyunjin or IN wiped with a handkerchief from time to time.
The whole situation was like a bitter irony that a person who possessed a unique ability now stood helpless against the deadly, incurable disease of her father.
Time passed inexorably, and your father's condition did not change, and even worsened. Your prayers and attempts to change the course of history have been in vain. You helplessly watched your father die in pain and felt that it was unbearable for you.
One day dad asked you to stay alone with him in the room. Before you moved closer to sit next to him on the bed, you wiped the glistening tears from your eyes. The man was very weak and barely able to move, but he managed to smile slightly at you, wanting to reassure you that all was well.
âY/n, baby, my dear, let me take one last look at youâŚYou've grown up to be a smart and beautiful womanâŚOh you look so much like your mother, I'm proud of you.â He started slowly, and you had to stop yourself from bursting into tears again. âI know I've waited a long time to get this news, but I didn't want to put you in danger. My child, you are endowed with a unique gift."
"I know my tears can heal." You interrupted your dad, a grimace of dissatisfaction and helplessness on your face as you remembered that you couldn't save your dad.
âNot only that⌠Right after you were born, the angels who gave you their gifts gave me information that the person who kills you and drinks your blood will become immortal.â This information made your heart beat faster with terror. âOnly me and those closest to the royal family know about this power, but you must be careful, you must be brave and not let anyone hurt you, although there will be many dangers waiting for you. Promise me, my baby." He said, taking your hand, waiting for your answer.
You, on the other hand, sat terrified, depressed and stunned by what you had learned. However, the pleading eyes of your father fixed on you did not give you peace and you felt great regret.
âI promise father, I will definitely be careful and not tell anyone about my abilities. I love you and I will do anything to save you." You said as you swallowed the bitter tears that were in your throat.
As if awaiting your response, your father breathed his last breath and left this world, traveling to the afterlife to join your mother who passed away during your birth. You felt deep sadness and regret, but at the same time relieved that your dad would finally not have to suffer.
You clung to your father's frail body, tears flowed from your eyes again, and a terrible sound of despair escaped your lips. You can't remember when you cried so much. Your cries of anguish caused the servant and the doctors to burst into the chamber, followed by Hyunjin and IN. The doctor fell to your father, while the young boys cuddled up to you. They knew you were suffering and it broke their hearts. You hugged both of them, burying your face in them. You were looking for solace and warmth in them, which you needed so much. You knew it was going to be a hard time for you, but you had to be brave, for your dad, for the kingdom, for yourself.
The next day you were to bury your father in the family grave right next to your mother. Finally, after so many years, they could be together again, happy. You were ready to take over the throne, inheriting from your parents. You were eager and ready to fight to carry on their legacy and rule the kingdom well. However, fate had other plans.
Your uncle, your late father's brother, was not going to leave the matter of inheritance to chance. While you were bidding farewell to your father in the graveyard in a beautiful ceremony attended by almost the entire kingdom, your uncle was crowning himself as the new king, claiming his right to the throne as the eldest living son of your long-dead grandfather.
It was a moment that combined the pain of mourning and bitter betrayal. You mourned the loss of your father, and at the same time you witnessed the loss of your inheritance, which was supposed to be a gift left by your parents. Your cry of internal struggle was muffled by the reality of a new coronation that took place in the shadow of your personal drama.
You wanted to argue but after the coronation you couldn't do anything. Now all you can do is hold your head high and try your best and hope your uncle will be a good king, just like your dad.
