This loose leaf fruit tea is called Fairies Blood!!! Is there anything cooler?
I went to see my absolute favourite band for the 4th time last night at the Glasgow Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park. Summer Sessions is actually a great concept, it’s like going to a music festival without the hassle of camping or having to be there all day long. We also saw The Xcerts, Cage the Elephant, Wolf Alice and Fall Out Boy and I had the best time minus some minor crowd idiots... Getting ready to buy my 5th set of tickets for Biffy next week!
I had a delicious lunch yesterday at All Bar One, George St, Edinburgh.
The other day I got to be reunited with most of the stagey friends to perform in a variety show for The Archie Foundation that works with Sick Kids Hospital in Aberdeen. Not only was it humbling to perform for such a great cause, it was a great time and so nice to have a reason to prepare and perform dance again.
The National Museum of Scotland is one of my happy places
It seems my last trip to Edinburgh was just a marathon of delicious drinks.. Pictured above is peppermint tea and chocolate macarons in a Sunday morning meeting, an Edinburgh Gin cocktail in St Andrews Gardens, a glass of pinot grigio at Alan Cumming’s cabaret and a hot chocolate float with spicy sriracha almond ice cream from Mary’s Milk Bar.
Dunnottar Castle, Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
The summer.. and more
I feel like I haven’t had anything exciting happening in my life, and realistically, I haven’t. Life has been all work and little play recently but I guess it’s worth it. On another note, I have so much to look forward to! I am heading to Edinburgh tomorrow for the first half of my Fringe festival sessions, particularly excited to see Alan Cumming’s cabaret! I get to see my favourite band of all time, Biffy Clyro, at the end of the month, plus Christmas ain’t far away, I bought myself tickets to see Not Today Satan with Bianca Del Rio and I’m hopefully booking a wee Paris trip soon! Ahhhh!
My boyfriend’s mother saw this and thought of me.. *smiles internally*
It's so nice to have a massive clear out and redecorate!
Last night we went to see Spielberg's new BFG movie and oh my goodness, it is amazing!! I'm glad that the original wasn't that fresh in my memory because it was nostalgic without being too comparative. I genuinely laughed out loud at some points and it was visually stunning. The BFG's voice was so perfect as well, reminded me a little bit of my grandad which made me happy.
Had some cocktails yesterday with some old friends, it was a hell of a lot of fun!
My dinner tonight was unreal! Five spiced duck breast with kohlrabi and dauphinoise potatoes, red onion marmalade, red currant and orange glaze and some seasonal veg! I think I'm in food heaven
My favourite band released their new album today and after a slow morning at work I am finally able to listen it through! It’s making me so excited to go to their concert in Glasgow in August! I honestly can’t get over how much I love them.
So another Rock Challenge tour ends and I have to wait another year before I can volunteer at the best events available to school children. This year, I am proud to have achieved the Silver level of Volunteer Accreditation which basically means I have done a lot of different jobs at different events (yay for experience). Not only is this helpful for my future as an Events Student, it is also the most fun I have all year.
Life experience achieved: I finally saw Cats live after obsessing over the VCR as a child. Although it isn't my favourite ever musical, I loved it. Personal highlights include the gellicle ball, mistofolees and memory. The only thing that disappointed me was the 'updating' of the Rum Tum Tugger (which is usually my favourite song) they tried to make him 'today's bad boy' but it was just cheesy hip hop.
