How about you people try working on your reading comprehension before making yourselves sound stupid? Because it’s funny how you claim SS fans can’t grasp the “clear as day” meaning of the forehead poke when you’re the one who can’t grasp the meaning of a simple text, all while adamantly claiming that what the Uchiha family clearly do to show affection, is instead done to evoke loneliness.

The 4th Databook didn’t call the forehead poke a sign of distance and rejection, nor did it state that it made Sasuke feel lonely. On p.49, it says…

Around 12 years ago: Nostalgic memories with Itachi. Every time Sasuke remembers when he was poked in the forehead by his older brother when he narrowed their distance he feels a tinge of loneliness.

Do you know what “nostalgia” means? It means to have a sentimental longing or affection for a period or memory from your past. It connotes a wistful desire to return to a former time in one’s life, and a sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time.

That’s what Sasuke was feeling when he remembered the times Itachi used to poke his forehead, it evoked feelings of nostalgia and affection as he remembered the happy times with his brother, and that’s why it made him feel lonely now. It wasn’t saying that Sasuke felt lonely in the past because of the forehead poke, it’s saying how Sasuke reminiscing about those happy times made him feel lonely now because Itachi is no longer with him. My god, it’s not fucking complicated. Look at the faces below of the people who had just been given the forehead poke, do you honestly believe that they look in any way lonely? Or rejected? Or sad?

No, they look happy and jovial, because they understand that the poke is a sign of affection. To think that people actually believe that Sasuke and Sakura would try to make their own daughter feel “lonely” through the poke. The utter bullshit people come up with in their sheer desperation to try and downplay SS is fucking embarrassing.

In celebration of SasuSaku month, I have assembled moments in the manga that encapsulate this beautiful pairing. These are only the moments which I have been able to recall from memory so I may have missed some, however there is still a grand repository of them. With that said, I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed making it — because it has truly been a pleasure to be reminded why I love this pairing, with both tears and smiles.

I just recently saw a drawing in which Shikamaru tells Sasuke that he was Naruto's friend first even though that never happened. They only became friends in the Chuunin Exams. Before that, everyone except Hinata thought of him as their loser classmate and overlooked him in favor of Sasuke. Shikamaru even says he never knew that Naruto had so many bitter experiences during the war, right? I have nothing against Shikamaru, but I'm against bashing other characters to make him look good, you know?

If Naruto had friends before the beginning of the series, he wouldn’t have been acting out in the way that he was. People probably think that he was friends with the likes of Shikamaru and Chouji due to this flashback he had during chapter 228 where he was shown to be hanging out with those guys. However, as it was clearly indicated, he was never given the opportunity to truly form a friendship with any of them because their parents always got in the way:

If he was friends with them, he wouldn't have had thoughts like this, where he expressed his hatred for all those who shunned him:

However, he then met Iruka, and formed a close bond with him:

Then he did the same with Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi, the members of Team 7; he formed a close friendship with all of them:

During chapter 132, Naruto identified those 4 as being the first people who acknowledged him, the first people who made him feel as though he wasn’t alone anymore, the first people who made him feel joyful and happy:

And the first people who made him feel as though it was okay for him to be alive, and that it was okay for him to exist.

This was only reiterated during chapter 262, where it was once again shown that to Naruto, his first friends were Iruka, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi. Everyone else came after those 4:

So yeah this obviously isn’t a dig at Shikamaru, because he clearly wasn’t part of the vast majority of those who shunned Naruto. However, that doesn’t change the fact that he wasn’t exactly his friend either. The first bonds/friendships that Naruto made were with Iruka and Team 7. They’re on a pedestal above the rest.

Whenever people say SP doesn’t have a bias against Sakura/SS I like to remind them that one of they key animators/directors of Boruto decided to remove Sakura from the Kage meeting and then later said on Twitter that Sakura doesn’t know anything about Sasuke’s mission. They literally changed canon so that Sakura is in the dark about Sasuke’s mission. This director is also the one who put in the scene where Sakura tells Ino that Sasuke has not contacted her once in the 8 years he was gone and 1.

Okay, I don’t really have much more to say on the topic, but for those of you who want some examples of things that SP have done during the New Generation which haven’t exactly been favourable for SS, here you go.

You often state that Sasuke sought karin out to help Sakura deliver their child. However, I can't locate this in the manga or anime. Where is it written? Or is this headcanon? If it's the latter, it could easily be assumed that Karin sought Sasuke out since she's a sensory type. She could have sensed him at a distance. Upon finding him with Sakura, she realizes that Sakura is ready to deliver. Maybe there isn't a hospital nearby so she urges them to come to her hideout because it's closer. 🤔

After finding out about Sakura’s pregnancy, there would have been plenty of time for her and Sasuke to have settled in a village where doctors were abundant. That’s several months worth of time, because they obviously wouldn’t have wanted to keep as active as they were and put the baby’s life in jeopardy. Therefore, going to Karin was clearly a choice of their’s seeing as how they very easily could have chosen to settle in literally any village in the world during the months between discovering the pregnancy and Sakura giving birth, and yet they chose to settle at Karin’s hideout; That’s not a coincidence. Lets also not forget that Sasuke has Space/Time abilities too, so he obviously could have used that to instantly transport themselves to any location he knew of that contained the highest quality hospitals, but again, he chose Karin’s hideout.

Furthermore, even if Karin did sense them, it would mean that they would have had to have been close enough for her to sense them in the first place, which again is too much of a coincidence because Sasuke knows where Taka and Orochimaru’s hideouts are, and they are certainly not located near any villages, let alone hospitals. So again, why would they have been close enough for Karin to sense them if they weren’t seeking Karin out? Why would they have just so happened to be next to a Taka hideout (which Sasuke knew about) for the hell of it, despite Sakura being pregnant and in need of medical attention?

Sakura giving birth at Karin’s hideout was definitely their choice Anon. When considering all of the above, there are simply too many factors which all lead to that conclusion. The time they had between the discovery of Sakura’s pregnancy and the delivery, the fact that they would have wanted to settle so as to not put the baby’s life at risk, the fact that in the unlikely scenario that they were reckless and hadn’t settled prior to Sakura going into labour, they could have used Sasuke’s Space/Time jutsu to instantly teleport to any hospital anyway, and the fact that they wouldn’t have been close enough for Karin to sense them if they didn’t want to be. It all points to Sasuke choosing Karin for the job.

This is a viable interpretation and forgive me for adding on (feel free to ignore), but having actually given birth to a couple of humans, I’m baffled as to why Sakura would willingly choose to give birth alone in the hideout of a mad scientist criminal with Sasuke’s former terrorist teammate wanna be lover as midwife when as you say they could have literally transported themselves back to Konoha with Tsunade and Shizune and the rest of their friends and family. It’s not a choice that makes sense to me if they actually planned it that way.  I feel like there must have been something else that forced their hand, but I think the real answer is that it just made for a more dramatic story.

Well Sakura wasn’t alone, nor was she in the hideout of a mad scientist criminal. That’s not who Orochimaru is anymore, Karin is someone who Sasuke knows very well and trusts, and Sasuke still had reservations about spending long periods of time in Konoha because his journey wasn’t over. It took a lot of convincing for him to return to the village for only a relatively short period of time during Sasuke Shinden’s conclusion.

I see your point, but I was thinking that other than Sasuke and Karin, Sakura was alone, as in she was not with her family or friends when she gave birth.  I know Orochimaru is reformed now (and that forgiveness is a major theme of Naruto), but given a choice, it seems odd that Sakura would choose to give birth in the hideout of a man who kidnapped and experimented on babies (even if that was past tense). 

More to the point, if it was Sasuke’s choice to have Sakura give birth in such circumstances because he could not handle being in the village, I feel uncomfortable with that interpretation because that speaks rather poorly of his character.  As she was the one giving birth, Sakura’s choice should outweigh any others, and if she felt that she had to give birth in such circumstances to ease Sasuke’s feelings, I guess you could interpret that to show the depth of her generosity and love for him, but it’s still doesn’t sit well.  I’m all for interpreting Sasuke as trusting Karin, but I would think that Sakura would have chosen the women SHE trusted the most to birth her child – Ino, Tsunade, or Shizune, and that she would want to give birth to her first child, to the child that would be the first Uchiha born since the massacre, in the hospital where she works, with colleagues and friends who love her and have only her and her child’s best interest in mind rather than in a criminal hideout with a woman who is in love with her husband.  If Sasuke actually chose that situation for his wife to give birth, that’s not a good look.

All that being said, I really don’t think Kishimoto thought about it that hard.  Sarada was born in such a fashion to facilitate the soap opera drama of “who’s the mama?”

Your last point is probably the most likely scenario, because I have certainly said the same thing about many of Kishi’s decisions concerning Gaiden. But personally, I don’t see why Sakura would have any qualms with giving birth to her and Sasuke’s child with the help of someone who Sasuke knows and trusts. That in itself is already better than going to some random doctor in a village, and if they had indeed gone to random doctors instead of Karin, would you have still had an issue with it? The location really isn’t important (at least, I’ve never seen anyone give it any importance). Karin may still have feelings for Sasuke, but it had been indicated time and again that she was no longer pursuing him, and that she and Sakura were on amicable terms. Karin also would have only had Sakura and her child’s best interest in mind; That’s not exclusive to the people in Konoha, so I really don’t see why this should be an issue, because these were not bad circumstances for Sakura to give birth in.

I’m sure that Sasuke didn’t force Sakura to do anything she didn’t want to do, or wasn’t comfortable with; Because let’s also not forget that it was stated in the MangaStream translation that Sakura refused to leave Sasuke’s side. So from that, it could be inferred that Sasuke was the one who offered for her to go back to the village to give birth while he remained, but she didn’t want to do so without him, so they compromised and sought Karin out. I’m certain Sakura didn’t feel as though she had to do anything regarding the birth.

Of course, Sakura would not want to leave Sasuke’s side if she is about to have his baby, and I find it difficult to believe Sasuke would send her away. However, we don’t know the circumstances or the decisions made because we were not told as part of the story. However, I can never see birth in a criminal hideout with Karin as a good situation at all. It may not be the worst situation, but it’s not good. It’s all interpretation though. Again, I think we put far more thought into than Kishimoto, lol.

That’s fair enough if you don’t think that giving birth in Karin’s hideout was a good thing, that’s your perspective and it’s understandable. It’s just that I had a slight issue when you insinuated that the interpretation above reflected poorly on Sasuke’s character, which I disagreed with, because that would rely pretty much entirely on the idea that Sasuke forced Sakura to do something that she was uncomfortable with, which I don’t think is the case at all. Sakura gave no indication that she had any issues with giving birth where she did, and it would be very out of character for him to do so. I just basically see no reason why the location of the birth should be a contentious topic as long as the baby is delivered safely, but that’s just me 🤷‍♂️

Is great chakra control the only prerequisite for getting the byakugou seal? If so, then how come other medics who have similarly good chakra control like shizune and ino get it? What makes Sakura special? Did she only get it because she’s one of the main characters? I see antis saying that anyone with good chakra control can get the seal but we haven’t seen anyone other than Sakura, Tsunade and Mito achieve it. So why is that the case? Why did only they succeed?

Before I begin, I’ll just say that it;s unknown whether or not Mito had the Seal. The ,ark on her forehead does indeed resemble the Seal, but it’s unconfirmed whether or not it’s actually the Seal or some other unknown mark. With that being said, simply having great chakra control is not the only prerequisite for obtaining the Byakugou Seal. The Seal is reputed to be the absolute “Pinnacle of chakra control”, this was mentioned in the databooks, but here’s the thing - Reaching this pinnacle is not possible through hard work and training alone.

Let’s break it down…

We’ll start with Tsunade, who mentioned shortly after the failure of the Sasuke Retrieval mission, that in order for one to succeed as a Medical Ninja, you need to have “every aspect of your chakra control refined to perfection”:

That’s a very important bit of information; their chakra control needs to be essentially perfect, because of the very intricate and delicate procedures that they must follow when healing individuals of their wounds.

Next we’ll go to the 2nd Databook, the section where it explains the power of the Byakugou Seal:

And the universally accepted translation for this (Narutoversity link here, search for “Creation Rebirth”), is as follows:

“The absolute pinnacle of Medical Ninjutsu~~ a forbidden regeneration technique!”

“Created by the greatest of medical ninja, Tsunade, this is the ultimate regeneration technique!! By releasing a large amount of chakra at once, the body’s cell division is forcibly stimulated, reconstruction all organs and all tissues making up the human body!”

So what do we know so far? We know that Medical Ninjutsu requires the user’s chakra control to be refined to perfection, and we also know that the Byakugou Seal is the absolute pinnacle of Medical Ninjutsu.

So when we put two and two together, it becomes clear that being a Medical Ninja is already evidence enough that your chakra control is immaculate. However, those who also master the Byakugou Seal are in a league of their own, because it is the absolute pinnacle of a profession which requires your chakra control to be perfect.

And who has mastered this technique? Tsunade and Sakura.

This was only reiterated in the 4th Databook’s entry for the Byakugou Seal, where it mentioned that an “extremely accurate” chakra control was required:

Now let’s go to Shizune.

Before Sakura came into the picture, Shizune was essentially the No.2 Medical Ninja around, directly behind Tsunade. Yet, even she couldn’t master the Seal. Why? Because doing so requires an “extremely delicate chakra control” that even a Medical Ninja of her extremely high calibre didn’t possess:

So let’s put this into perspective…

Tsunade said that being a Medical Ninja requires every aspect of your chakra control to be refined to perfection.

Shizune is a world class Medical Ninja, meaning her chakra control must have been refined to perfection.

But despite this, she couldn’t master the Byakugou Seal, but Sakura and Tsunade could.

Therefore, when one masters the Byakugou Seal, it is irrefutable proof that your chakra control is beyond perfect, and no amount of training or hard work can get it to that level; it is a trait that one must be born with.

And that Anon, is why people say that Sakura has perfect chakra control, and why she along with Tsunade are the undisputed standard bearers for this trait; because their mastery of Medical Ninjutsu and the Byakugou Seal means that their level of chakra control cannot be surpassed; It is already beyond perfect.

Hey, do you think had Sasuke’s parents lived, they would be accepting of Sakura? Like I get she doesn’t come from some honorable clan, but she is known as one of the strongest females in the naruto-verse. I like to think they’d be accepting of her, yanno? Lol but tbh Sasuke’s dad seems like he’d be alittle hard to get on his good side

Of course they would accept Sakura. I really never understood where people got this idea that every Uchiha was some stuck up, haughty asshole who’d look down on people from lesser known clans. Itachi didn’t give that impression, neither did Mikoto, neither did Kagami, neither did Obito etc. And what about Uruchi and her husband Teyaki, who were just a couple of very civilian small bakery owners living in the Uchiha compound, but they were just as much Uchiha as everyone else - did they give that impression?

Even for someone like Fugaku, the same applies. Like I’ve said before, Fugaku was strict, but he never forced either of his sons to do anything they felt strongly against. He had his opinions and let them be known, but he never forced anything upon either of them.

When they had an important mission coming up, Fugaku made it clear how significant it was for the clan:

However, when Itachi chose to accompany Sasuke to his entrance ceremony into the academy instead:

Fugaku relented after realising how important it must have been for both of his sons, to make Itachi prioritise that over their mission, because Fugaku knows that Itachi is aware of his important place within the clan. But despite this, he yielded and allowed them to go to the ceremony because he prioritised Sasuke’s happiness above his own agenda, as he’d always do:

Also, when Sasuke showed that he hadn’t yet mastered the Fireball jutsu, Fugaku didn’t force him to learn it or call him a failure because of it. If he was this pompous, condescending person that so many people seem to think he is, he would have surely looked down on Sasuke for not being able to do such a simple jutsu, but he did nothing of the sort. Fugaku was a little disappointed sure, but he didn’t force the issue; and instead let Sasuke develop at his own pace, to which Sasuke would greatly impress him a week later.

And when he did, he’d ask Sasuke not to follow in Itachi’s footsteps:

This is really significant because if Fugaku really only accepted nothing but the best of the best, that would be Itachi in a nutshell because he was hailed as a prodigy like no other. So why wouldn’t Fugaku want Sasuke to be like his brother when Itachi was near perfect at everything? It wasn’t because their relationship had recently suffered, as Sasuke highlights here:

It was simply because Fugaku wanted Sasuke to follow his own dreams, make his own decisions, and make the clan proud in his own way. This is much more in tune with Fugaku’s character and the Uchiha overall than those who paint them as these high class shinobi who wouldn’t associate themselves with lesser clans. They’re a clan who value love above all else, and therefore would never force Sasuke into a loveless relationship. They would always support him because it was a path that he chose. This was further demonstrated during Fugaku and Mikoto’s final moments, just as Itachi was about to kill both of them:

They didn’t see eye to eye, but both Fugaku and Mikoto were nonetheless still so proud of him regardless, because Itachi made his own choice and followed it. Fugaku would do the same for Sasuke and Sakura. If Sasuke made it clear that his heart belonged to Sakura, they’d advocate the relationship. Even if Fugaku didn’t agree with it, he’d still be proud of Sasuke for following his heart.
