That’s not even fair.
Sometimes you’ve just got to salute a 9-time Gold Glove winner, even if he gets you out.
This is ironic, because Torii has botched so many plays this year. I was shocked he made this one.
Jacob deGrom ties an MLB modern day record with 8 strikeouts to start a game!
Getting my championship run off to a great start!!!
This pitch by Dellin Betances was nasty. More importantly, it preserved a scoreless tie.
You know my feelings on him...
Sorry, dude.
A casual celebratory beard pull.
Hey now, play nice …
hmmm
Melky Cabrera
Melky Cabrera's season is over, a fractured finger will cause him to have surgery next week. So basically, drop him. There's only three weeks left, no need to look long term anymore. Which means you should add the hot hitter and not worry about whether he can maintain the pace for a while. It's not necessary - you just need points and you need them now. In the past week I've added Luis Valbuena, Jorge Soler, and now Mookie Betts. None of which I would consider if there were still months left in the season. But right now all three hitters have been scorching the baseball, and I've been having pretty good success with them. Take points wherever you can. I chose Betts today over Plouffe and Blanco (all three had similar point totals in their last 15 games) mainly because Boston doesn't have an off day next week. Just another day that Betts can be in the lineup and get me points.
Now is the time to get greedy everyone!
Didi Gregorgeous
Back to back days with a reblog for Didi
Rajai Davis goes all out, all the time.
Aaron Hill, are you kidding me?
Whoa
The stands are no obstacle for Didi Gregorius.

"Do you hear that buzz?"
I just added Soler the other day, he's got legit hitting talent. No promises that he can keep raking at this rate, but I'd give him a shot if he's still available in your league. Last time I recommended a hot hitter for a short time, well you know what happened...

Melky…it can’t get you in here.
ummmmmm
This is what a web gem looks like.
Same last name, same result! Victor and J.D. Martinez blast back-to-back bombs!
On day 1 of the playoffs, their timing couldn't have been better. A few months ago I said to roll with JD while he's hot but there's no way it will continue. I'm so happy to be wrong. This guy is legit, even with a mini slump a few weeks back that had people jumping ship, he pulled himself out of it. And I don't think that this surge happening during Nick Castellanos' hot streak in the spot behind him is any coincidence...
Playoffs!
The time has come! The playoffs begin tomorrow in most fantasy leagues, which typically have two, two-week long matchups to determine the champion. It's very important to look at your league settings to know how many starts you are allowed per matchup - most leagues I've come across have 24. Since at this stage of the season rotations are changing daily, it is important to recount your starts every few days to make sure you're on track for hitting 23 on the final saturday. It's difficult to plan so far ahead, but try to get a general idea of how the next two weeks are going to go.
Don't take unnecessary risks when it comes to dropping players, especially starting pitchers. If you like him, hang on to him. Starting pitching will likely make or break your matchup, so hoarding the strongest starters is a very good strategy. Last week I streamed Tillman and deGrom, and I still haven't dropped them. I don't plan to either. I can't risk my opponent picking them up, forcing me into a far riskier stream. Don't make a bold streamer decision early in a two-week matchup, you don't want to have to make up a bunch of ground right off the bat
At this point in the game, your biggest enemy is injuries. If someone goes down, you have very little time to evaluate replacements, as now every day counts. Earlier in the season you could afford to lose a week in the long run if you happened to get hit with a few injuries. That happened to me a few weeks ago - I lost three or four players in a few days, essentially destroying my week. It's taken me a little while to find lineup stability again, but I've managed to get myself fully recovered and stronger than ever at just the right time. There's nothing you can do to prevent injuries - I went down in the first round last season because of injuries, the free agent pool is just too shallow at this point. So stock up on what you can right now, just in case...
Good luck to everyone and let the playoffs begin!!!
