the trial and andrew's testimony would be public record which is devastating and would reveal information about andrew and the things he's been through to people who have no right to know. it would be circulated way more than most trials bc it involves collegiate athletes and specifically the foxes. but that means it would also reach kids like andrew.
i genuinely wonder what andrew's reaction would be when a foster kid comes up to him after a game, or makes him a sign, or writes him a letter telling him that he is why they had the courage to speak up about what was happening to them.
he doesn't want to be someone's role model. he testified, not for himself or kids like him, but for aaron. but that doesn't change the fact that he would be put in a position to be a kid's role model or inspiration. that doesn't change the fact that somewhere a kid is saving up to buy his jersey bc, to them, andrew is their hero.
