The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.Ā
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, youāll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post ā we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out ā stay tuned!

so what i see in this is, they are hoping we'll just roll over once the outrage dies down, and give up whining about this change. and that's what we are NOT going to do.
Send a feedback at least once a day, through the official means. Preferably more. Set up a timer on your phone so you can remember, if you need to. Hell, schedule this post several times to remind folks on your dash.
Get in there, and tell them (respectfully) to roll this back.

Begin with a dear staff remark, awknowlege these are people (or possibly ai's seeing as how flooded they will soon be- regardless who you would like to cater to)
Specifically name the Reblog Chain feature (and any other updates) as the cause for your concern (Call it a bug, a bad edit, whatever have you)
State WHY- be it engagement, you are a creator, bullying/harassment, safety concerns, the world is your oyster but be SPECIFIC
HR preach. Call out phrases that would make an investor shutter, things about engagement, reputation, platform usability, things that can be pointed on a slide show and go "This is why this is BAD"
RINSE AND REPEAT- If you have the time and energy, set alarms to do this daily, do not let any board room member try and sweep outrage under thr rug

"Dear staff, thank you for the work you have done for this website that I and many others enjoy. However the current Reblog chain feature I ask that you please listen to the community response and remove the bug before it does irrepriable damage to the platforms usage, reputation, and enjoyment."
"Dear Tumblr Staff, the current update has caused me some concerns on how usable Tumblr will be in the future. It goes directly against how I use the platform and is acting more like a bug than a usable feature. Please consider rolling back this feature from response and test more before implimenting possible alternatives in the future"
"Deaf staff, I do not support the new reblog chain feature, it is severely negatively impacting my experience on Tumblr and I hope staff can support a roll back otherwise I will need to find an alternative platform to share and support on"
"The new reblog chain feature is unacceptable and is more a bug than a feature. It goes completely against the spitit and design of the platform and what made tumblr thrive where other social medias crumbled. The responses by staff have been extremely dissipointing in their dismissal of legitimant concerns. Of course many variations, but please be at least somewhat professional- profanity, threats, insults, etc while possibly justified in anger, will not be what fixes this. It will be numbers.

Personally I think of DP as a āsuper soldierā-type hero so I like when they draw him as big as Steve Rogers
