Heartbreaking
Right, all lives matter my ass.
I still have ptsd from this ,and I was 8 when this happened. It still feels like yesterday that this happened. My heart breaks everytime I see my city im pieces.

BLACK LIVES MATTER
Never Forgive, Never Forget.
New Orleans is the city of my heart ā the only home I love as much as New York. People ask me, sometimes, why in my writing I depict post-Katrina NOLA as missing some fundamental part of itself. Thatās because these photos were only the beginning. Not only did they NOT help while people were suffering, and vilify the survivors for⦠surviving, but after the waters receded these motherfuckers used Katrina as an opportunity to rid the city of many of its poor black residents ā the very people who made New Orleans the hustling, creative, delicious, powerful place it was. Oh, some made it back⦠but not enough. I pray NOLA will get its soul back, someday. But more than that, I pray that one day there will be a reckoning.
