That can’t be good for his health. Do you want me to help you look for him?”

Wagon watched, very content as the children admired the train. But then she caught the word ‘sentai’ and curiosity got the better of her. She dug out a bag of candy and walked over. “Oh? You kids know about Sentai?” She offered the bag of candy to Rika, “Did you know a Sentai used to live on this train?”

Rika nodded, not seeming to be weirded out at all by talking to a robot. “Uh huh! My mama and Uncle Nobu are part of a Sentai, so I’ve been trying to find out more about them. Their team didn’t have a yellow though.” She gave Wagon a huge smile, accepting the candy. After all, her mom had said not to take candy from strange people, not robots. “Really? What were they like?” Her friends turned around when she spoke, but they did spend some time gaping at the robot who was offering candy.

"Ohh!! How intensely surprising!" Wagon laughed and clapped her hands together, "No yellow hmm? Which one were they in?" She looked to the other kids and tilted her head a bit, then back to Rika, "Would you and your friends like to see the inside of the train? I can tell you all about the ToqGers."

"They're Kyoryugers! Mama is KyoryuCyan and Uncle Nobu is KyoryuBlue." She beamed at Wagon. "Were they the Sentai on the train, miss?" She looked over at her friends, and when they all nodded, she looked back. "We'd love to see the inside of the train!"

Wagon hummed thoughtfully as she sorted through all of the grocery bags to make sure she hadn’t forgotten anything. Oh it was just so hard running the entire kitchen by herself sometimes!! But it was her sworn duty to make sure all passengers were comfortable and well fed! After all, if she didn’t, who would?

She looked over hearing some children, and almost felt disappointed they weren’t the ones she knew But they seemed excited about the train, and that was enough to lift her spirits a bit. It was always nice to see kids with imagination.

Rika had been playing with her friends when Chika had come running up with Naho, talking about a rainbow colored train that none of the adults seemed to be able to see. Curious, Rika had demanded they show the rest of them the train stopped at the station.

They all stood staring at the train, awed and excited. Then Rika ran down the colors in front of her. “Red, blue, yellow, green, and pink?” She tugged at the red scarf around her neck. “That’s sort of like a sentai, isn’t it?”

gosh this scene is so impressive, the way this little girl recovered from the death of her father is great…

further adding this to my list of examples to show adults who shelter children and believe they can’t handle serious subjects. this situation is fictional but it’s important and it’s real in a way. children notice things and they can learn to piece things together. children can be strong if you let them!
