Reblog if you’re an active studyblr br
07.04.19 ✍🏼📝
I can’t believe the year is already half over—I know that’s a pretty cliche thing to say but it’s true! Soon enough I’ll be heading off to college in August. . .
This needs to be said.
I believe it is important to address the other side of studyblr; we all talk about how important mental health is, and should be, in this community. But what we don’t talk about enough is the fact that it’s more clique than anything. By which I mean that certain studyblrs are so big they can seem unreachable; and that can be factored into another issue, the desire to have enough likes and reblogs; we have to have the perfect notes, or there won’t be any other type of notes, if you catch my drift. It’s stigmatic, it’s unfair; some small blogs rely on reblogs from bigger blogs, some rely on posting consistently (or constantly), but the fact remains.
We must change the aesthetic, once and for all, to include the smaller blogs, the dark blogs, the ones that aren’t as actively; it’s a community, not a clique of who has the most stationary or the most followers. Those who have the certain notes that are so admired are wonderful; but not all of us have that time to put into it, and we work just as hard at our academics, at becoming the person we would like to be, as they do.
Studyblr community, love yourselves, even if you don’t have the notes; or the followers. There’s no use beating yourself up about it. We can’t all be big, but what we can do is be proud of our own accomplishments and how we strive towards our own goals. Who cares if your notes don’t get that many reblogs? You made it, and you worked hard on it, and that should be enough.
Day Two: A Photo of Your Study Space
Day two of @hayley-studies challenge!
The lighting sucks because I took this photo at night and my main light is pretty yellow :/
Currently my study space is a desk (found in an alley behind my nana’s house) and an old chair but, hey, it’s cozy and it does the job! The artwork and badges have been collected from years of conventions, a Fall Out Boy concert, and artwork from my best friend. Mostly Homestuck and anime stuff!
Today’s breakfast! Watermelon + Cantelope + Strawberry + Green Tea.
It was a little more watery than I usually like, but overall it was pretty filling!

Day One: A Photo of Your Supplies
Yes, yes, I’m aware none of my stuff matches! A lot of my good supplies are hidden away in my art space or have been lost throughout the last school year. Hopefully I should get some later this month!
(Also, if you’re looking for a good wireless mouse, anything Logitech makes is pretty good + affordable. Officemax had this one on sale for about twelve dollars!)
How To Stay Productive During Summer
Listen--I know this post is a little late, but personally I start to lose any semblance of productivity during late June/Early July. Here are some tips that have helped me out so far!
Try to keep a consistant sleep schedule...you don’t have to go to bed at 9 and wake up at 5:30, but don’t wake up at 2pm one day and 6am the next. Try to keep it consistant so that planning is a lot easier
Do your summer assignments...Seriously!! Most of the time, they’re your first grade inputted. You don’t want to start the semester off on the wrong foot, so get up and do those assignments!
Starting My Summer Assignment on The House on Mango Street. I’ve heard good things so far, I’m excited to read it!
30 Day Studyblr Challenge
Hello everyone! So in my time here I haven’t really come across a studyblr challenge other than the great “100 days of productivity” meme which I know is really helping a lot of people! I know there are probably some out there but I decided to contribute too!
However, I know some people struggle with what to post and when, and 100 days is a huge commitment! So I designed this short(er) “30 Day Studyblr Challenge” that anybody can participate in if they want to! The 30 days don’t have to be consecutive because I understand that people are busy and can’t always find time in the day to come on tumblr! So I invite you to take part in this little activity, and please feel free to tag me in your challenge uploads - If I see that I’ve been tagged I’ll check the post out.
Here are your challenge questions: Day 1: A photo of your supplies Day 2: A photo of your study space Day 3: Your favourite motivational quote Day 4: A photo of your most recent work Day 5: A photo of your favourite book Day 6: A photo showing how you relax Day 7: The best advice anyone’s ever given you Day 8: A photo of your to-do list Day 9: A photo of your desk in use Day 10: Who is your favourite teacher/professor and why? Day 11: A photoset detailing your routine for the day Day 12: A photo of your favourite study snack Day 13: A photo of your textbooks Day 14: Send your favourite studyblr(s) an uplifting message! Day 15: A photo of your handwriting Day 16: What music do you like to listen to whilst studying? If you don’t listen to music while you work, what do you do? Day 17: Find a new/different study spot to your usual one and snap a photo! Day 18: A photo of your favourite pen(s) to use Day 19: A photo of your study space featuring a glass of water. (It’s super important to stay hydrated while you study!) Day 20: Talk about your favourite fictional character Day 21: A photo of your diary/planner/journal Day 22: A photo of your dream school/university Day 23: A photo of your favourite character from TV (Because it’s important to relax sometimes too) Day 24: Write the sentence “I can do anything as long as I put my mind to it.” in all of the languages that you speak and take a photo. Tell yourself that every day! Day 25: A photo of the work/notes you’re most proud of Day 26: Try out mind-mapping and photograph the end result Day 27: Try out a printable and take a photo of it in use Day 28: Try going for a walk before you start studying today. Take a photo of something interesting you see while you’re out. Day 29: Describe your study technique. Is it different for different subjects? Day 30: You made it! Reward yourself by doing one of your favourite things to do and snap a photo!
Please don’t forget to tag me in your posts, and/or tag them with #studyblrchallengehayley so that I can make sure I see them!
Have fun :* xo

A New Studyblr Approaches!
Hey all! I’ve created a new studyblr so I can keep my personal tumblr away from my studyblr! I really just didn’t want to see a studyblr post and then a shitpost in within five seconds lmao. I’ve reblogged all of my old stuff onto this blog so check it out! :)
Starting to Annotate My Copy of 1984
My school is doing a production of 1984 in february, and auditions (as of right now) are tomorrow!! I’m so excited to audition and I hope I get in!
•
Once I started reading the first chapter, I realized I HAD to annotate it, because so many passages were amazing and relevant to 2019. Plus it’ll be nice to have some context for the production since our director prefers everyone to research whatever we’re doing
Honor-Level Classes-Do’s and Don’ts
Since I’ve been in advanced classes since fourth grade (and testing for them since third—gross) I wanna make a small guide for choosing if they’re right for you!
•THEY LOOK GREAT ON COLLEGE APPLICATIONS BUT…. they’re incredibly stressful. In IB/AP/Honor level classes, the workload is often trippled and expectations are exponentially higher. Don’t overload yourself just because it’ll impress a college board.
•ORGANIZATION IS KEY… Oftentimes (at younger ages) students will be placed in advanced classes because they’re organized. This isn’t always the case, but it helps to have all of your assignments done neatly if you take these classes
•PROCRASTINATION WILL KILL YOU… Sure, a lot of advanced students procrastinate, but that’s because they think they can because they’re “advanced.” Especially if they’ve been in those classes for a long time. Just do your homework immediately, it sounds boring but it’s worth it!
•BE POLITE TO TEACHERS… There’s a good reason smart kids are often “suck-ups” and that’s because they know when to ask for help and how to do it politely. Not only that but being polite makes an amazing first impression, which does wonders in the long run.
•MAKE FRIENDS IN THOSE CLASSES… They’ll probably save your ass. A lot of the times advanced kids form a group to help each other remember deadlines and help with homework. This can minimize your stress.
***hey sorry if this is kinda sucky…i’ve been out of my studyblr groove lmao! i’ve been really sick lately and i’ve been suuuuper busy organizing my schools Stand Up Comedy Club (or S.U.C.C)
How Do I Keep My Grades Up?
Heyo!! Since I SOMEHOW have straight A’s so far, I might as well post how I keep my grades up! :)
• I take comprehensive notes, so for worksheet-type assignments, my answers are just in my notes!
• I pay attention to what answers I miss on assignments and quizzes so when exams come up, I know what I need to study
• I seize any opportunity for extra credit!! Since it’s cold season, my Geometry teacher offered 10 points of extra credit for 2 tissue boxes + some basic math showing we knew how to measure volume/surface area. THIS RAISED MY GRADE FROM A MID LEVEL B TO A MID LEVEL A
•If your teachers accept late work, TURN IN MISSING ASSIGNMENTS!!!! This is such a simple fix but my friends had terrible grades just because of missing assignments
•If you can, keep track of your grades. Most school districts use a website/app to post grades. These usually have your scores on assignments and tests, so you know what scores you’re getting ahead of time!
•Check your damn answers if you can. Most textbooks (math especially) have some of the answers in the back so you can see what questions you missed
•Email your teachers!!! They don’t bite and if you’re polite, you’ll probably get what you need!
*9/16/18
Heyo!! Sorry I’ve been absent lately, I’ve been SUPER sick and just mentally unwell so I’ve been off tumblr for a bit. Hopefully I’ll be way better in the upcoming days (plus i’ve met a boy who makes my heart 💓💓 so i’m suuuper happy)
3 Weeks of High School…
So in my first three weeks of high school, some WILD things have been said and even wilder things have happened, here’s a vague list of some of them
•I have 5 senior (and one junior) bodyguards through my drama class because I give them food every day
•One guy runs through the halls before school, during lunch, and i assume after school. My friend FORCED him to join the cross-country team
•I got involved in a love triangle
•There’s a senior who plays the guitar during lunch (who has been dubbed Funky Guitar Man by me)
•Funky Guitar Man calls me “little one”
•The senior aides in my drama class have a rolling chair race every day
•On occasion, the aides form a literal train with their chairs
•My English teacher chucked an apple at one of my classmates
•My old biology teacher said, and i quote, “I love you like a stepchild that I’m still mad at.” because i transferred out of his class
•One of my seniors was being pulled out of a chair, and in attempt to save himself, he grabbed my glasses off of my face
•”If you put Finn on the table, it’ll get lighter.”
•””HOLY SHIT THEY’RE GOING TO KILL THEMSELVES? SIGN ME UP!”
•”So Philadelphia is the city of incest? NICE!”
Ey you!!!!!!!!!!!
Pimples are normal and natural!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s totally ok to have belly fat that’s where ya food goes!!!!!!!!!!!
