Dream job moment: today, for work, I spent an entire morning in the library archives looking at the oldest copies of Goldsmiths Students’ Union publications. The Goldsmithian goes back as far as the opening of the college in 1905, Smith(s) has issues dating back to the 20′s and 30′s. The history of radical student-lead publishing at Goldsmiths is really cool, proud to be a part of it : - )

you know the worst part ab people associating the middle east/south asia w pedophilia and sexual assault is the fact that most countries in both regions do actually have the highest sexual harassment rates in the world but are only discussed under racist/islamophobic terms. you literally can’t discuss that cairo has the highest sexual assault rate in the world at 99% or how 93% of women in pakistan experience some form of sexual violence or the growing rate of pedophilia in saudi arabia without people trying to tie that into islam. it doesn’t raise awareness or call for change it literally just gives people a chance to spread their “rape culture is ingrained in arab and brown societies” n their anti islam propoganda so maybe keep that same energy when talking about all the catholic priests who’ve been exposed as pedophiles :)

makeup culture is wack and normalizes a ludicrously high bar as the bare minimum women can do. I saw a “lazy"makeup tutorial the other day that listed 22 separate goddamn products. you’re supposed to buy and know how to use 22 different things on your face just for the privilege of being considered lazy and that’s uuuuuuh what’s the word? bullshit.

I would really just suggest some powder foundation, concealer, mascara and lipgloss/lipstick, or tbh just mascara works too, but that’s up to you

I’m sorry if I didn’t express this clearly enough in the original post but I’m not really looking for more concise makeup regiments. my intention was to point out how it’s Bad that makeup is considered a bare minimum at all, regardless of individual feelings on the matter

no face should be “required” to have “a minimum” of makeup. makeup has no health benefits and does nothing but fill the pockets of companies that prey on women and our insecurities.

makeup should not be seen as hygiene because it isnt. get that shit out of your head.

today was really productive and I’m really proud of myself. i worked on contract and completed my seminar prep, and stuck to healthy meals only. also meditated and prayed & i feel genuinely happy. i hope everyone else had a good day!
