Goodbye Stan

11.10.1751

This is Stan’s son, Sam. Unfortunately, my beloved father has passed away. He lived very healthy and prosperous while in Boston. Stan loved Massachusetts with all his heart and worked every day to ensure his place in society. He suffered some ups and downs, especially when his dog was hung after being accused of witchcraft. He didn’t want to discuss that matter, as he couldn’t argue the Puritans’ decisions. He did not suffer in his death, luckily, as many deaths these days are slow and painful, especially by disease. He left behind a stable Puritan church that can continue to thrive in New England.

I quit

18.01.1746

I quit my sailing job. Unfortunately, the job is becoming a bit tough with my old age and carrying barrels of rum has never been so difficult. I am making half of the money I used to, as the slave import rates have gone down and the need of resources from the New World has become deflated. I sold my ship to a former slave who is one of very few to create a life in New England. His name was Michael King and he created his own fishing company: King Krab Fishery(even though he only caught cod). My dumbest son, Sal, has adventured to Virginia in hopes of becoming an indentured servant(who wants to be an indentured servant?) to a rich man. In other news, I am now a member of the Puritan Church and some think I will become the next John Winthrop. Who knows? All I know is that I am the proudest Puritan in the world and it will spread to the Old World!!!!!!!

50th Birthday!

06.07.1948

I can’t believe I have lived for 50 years, this is complete insanity! Many people have criticized my age and believe my birth certificate is fake, however it can be confirmed by the Congregational Church that I am 50 today. I am thankful to have quit my job as a sailor, as my aging process has slowed significantly since. Being a merchant and fisherman has allowed my diet to be very rich and fresh which has helped my body carry on through the years. Although I don’t work nearly as much as I used to, the exercise I have maintained has enabled strong lungs and a working heart. 

I have been accused of being a witch by some people, even though only women can be witches! I don’t believe in this nonsense, as Mary Mirick Davie lived for 117 years and she was never convicted of witchcraft. However, I didn’t even live in Salem. 

Anyways, the living conditions here are much better than in the South, as we don’t have to deal with insects, flies and mosquitoes. There are many diseases down there that they cannot treat, meanwhile we don’t get outbreaks often and the summers are much milder.

Education and the Almanac

22.04.1942

I have finally sent my son, Sam to Yale University for him to better his religious beliefs. As the most intelligent of my children, he deserves every right to earn a strong education and continue his route towards belonging in a ministry. Although it is rather far, in New Haven, the education will be worth it when he keeps congregationalism in New England. I have no doubt that my son will be influential in the movement of religion her in the New World.

I have also purchased my first copy of Poor Richard’s Almanac for six pence. I will say, it is very interesting to read quotes and learn more about common sense. I will tell you, those Protestants could use some of that. Ben Franklin is a very influential man too. His scientific knowledge is beyond anything I have ever seen before. I have actually met him before when he visited Boston, and we discussed the importation of slaves as well as the advancements of technology in the New World versus in Europe. He said that soon we will pass them in technology and become a dominant force.

I want to believe this notion, however I don’t think it’s possible that we can overthrow Britain when they have complete control over us. Time will tell...

THIS MAN!!!!!!!!! Jonathan Edwards has ruined our religion. Congregationalists are being out-numbered by those dirty protestants! That “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” preach has drawn too many people to the evil side...

I don’t really have time to use this website as I now own 20 square miles of land, which is absurd. The government won’t let me have slaves, which i could really use. Instead, I have to spend money on indentured servants, which I really don’t need. On top of that, I only sail to Africa once a year now! Ever since I came back to Boston, my boat has been sitting in the port for numerous times.

Once I sailed to New York for pure enjoyment and ended up in Charleston! Oops. It took me 3 days to figure out where I was, I couldn’t find anybody around except for slaves. It’s crazy living in Boston where you see Europeans every day, but down here they all hide in their homes while their slaves bring in money for them through tobacco and other crops.

Sorry my beloved followers, it has been a while indeed. I decided to temporarily reside in the West Indies because of the calamity in Boston at the moment. However, I have done many trips between here and the Gold Coast and made a lot of money. I plan to purchase scores and scores of land outside of Boston and work for a while. I have heard that Protestantism is making a huge impact in society and it does not make me happy. 

Plus, the government is reducing the amount of ships trading for slaves. Apparently, there are more slaves than needed. Maybe if New England inherited slavery, we would be okay! I am not trying to lose my job!!!!!!!!

22.05.1733 Good morning fellow New Englanders, welcome to my glorious tumblr! In case you didn’t know, I recently started captaining a boat that participates in the triangle trade called the Nigrum Vindicem. I deliver rum from Boston to Dakar or Luanda, in exchange for slaves that I then bring to Barbados. I come home with sugar and stay for about 2 months before making the dreaded trip again. 

Ever since Africans have been brought to this land, things have only gotten worse for us in New England. We are on the fringes of the loss of Purtitanism. People like John Edwards aren’t helping us right now. We need unity between us and the British!!!
